Subject: Hey, I don't know if this has been suggested or not...

But I was just clearing out my inbox, then went to clear the sent items... and it's so much more time consuming. And that's because there's no way to mass delete them. Would it be possible to put in a checkbox, to mass delete sent emails?

Three players and a DM works well for a tabletop game... but not so much for online. I suggest we find some replacements. However, I am okay to continue, if that is the consensus made.

That depends how you go about justifying these things. I mean, I played a Paladin one time who had 16 int, so that I was able to actually use my intelligence and way with words to justify and infractions that I did.

This came from years and years of playing a rogue... but it goes both ways I guess. Quick talking gets you in and out of various situations... as long as you have the stats to back it up.

Topic: 3.5 Rule questions
Subject: Hmm...

Well, it would seem as though others have answered these questions, but I'm here to chip in my 2 cents about these two questions.

1) For the holy symbol, I usually find that most GMs don't think that you need to have the holy symbol to cast spells. I have noticed that some GMs even use the holy symbol as more of an RP thing... if you want to go and talk to the high priest of Pelor, and you have the holy symbol of Pelor, you can talk to him, because those symbols are only given to those who have earned the right to be ministers of Pelor's good word. But, as has been stated before, it's us to a GMs house rules and such.

2) As for spell area's and effects, what the effect of the spell does cannot be changed. You can't use a rock to mud to make softer rock, it's mud. But the spell's area that is listed, such as 10 cubic feet/level is the maximum area you can affect. You can choose to affect a smaller area, but you can affect up to that much as is listed.

Also, that only is true for areas that vary depending on level. Using Grugg's example of a fireball, which has a fixed 20 ft radius (I believe that's it... not 100% sure) then you are unable to modify that unless your take a couple levels in Archmage to earn that class ability.

Duration, on the other hand, can't be changed. If something says it lasts for 10 min/level, it will last that long unless it is dispelled, or unless the spell has other conditions which cancel it out (such as attacking when invisible), or if it says the caster can end the effect.

Those are just my 2 cents in, and my interpretation of the rules. Hope they help you, as the other answers probably already have.

Subject: Cries of help? It's time for...

Baldorf stopped in his tracks. A shrill cry pierced the air around him, filling his ears, and resonating within his brain. Inside him, something clicked, something Baldorf had never felt before. It was a sense of heroism. Was that it? Baldorf didn't know. But something in him was new... and something he didn't understand.

He reached into his belt and drew out his dagger, holding it valiantly before him. "Someone is in dire need of help! Quick my companions... we must rush to the aid of the person in question so that we may aid them in their time of need!"

Baldorf rushed forward, hacking at the mushrooms with his dagger, hoping to get through the forest in time to get a sight of the screamer.

Well, I'd personally like to congratulate the best team in the league - which, to let some of you know, is the Atlanta Falcons - on their win against San Fran today. 45-10 is a wonderful score.

That makes me feel better. Baldorf on the other hand, can see that Crulgrin likes ale (correct me if I'm wrong on this one). Baldorf is just SO different from the standard Khord... and that will come out later in the game.

Also, in regards to my last comment about the path, you were right Niaou'li, it was a random choice. But it wasn't so much an excited thing, as just an off hand comment, like you would be talking about the weather, "Oh, it's kinda nice."

It's clear he doesn't really want to talk to anyone.

Topic: New Spores of Itanlok ~ 1 ~ A Short Adventure in Audalis
Subject: Two part

Part one:

Baldorf's gut sank as he heard the cry for help, and felt Hruby stop following him.

"Someone should find out what happened to him!"

Great, just my luck... Baldorf thought to himself. He had tried to be heroic in the past... but it never worked out. He either made the situation worse, or someone else took the credit. And it Hruby saw that... there went his chance at a love. Maybe not a lasting love, but a love nonetheless. He was caught between a hammer and an anvil. A place where he found himself quite often.

But, there was something about a child that was injured that made Baldorf want to help. He'd waited 90 years for a love to come his way - he could wait a couple more hours.

"Come on Hruby, let's go look at what happened. He might be in danger, or very weak." Baldorf extended his hand to grab Hruby's, and walked forward.

As Baldorf arrived, Thagovan began calling for help to find the other children missing. Well, Baldorf wasn't sure this was up for him, but really, the world was going downhill anyway. And just when he thought it was looking up. Turning to Hruby, he said,

"Hruby, I'm going to travel into the spores to try and find these lost children... I think that's the best thing to do here. After all... they are lost, and likely defenseless. I can't let them do that. Their life is worth more than mine."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Part 2:
Baldorf looked around at his new companions for the day. There were many people around him, and they all had braids in their beards... it made Baldorf feel even more uncomfortable. He was the only one. Ever. Who didn't have a braid. He sometimes worried he would meet his end before acquiring a braid... but, not all hope was lost it seemed. He was sure he would get one for this... if he lived. Well, at least Hruby would think highly of him. And something inside him seemed to urge it.
Baldorf followed the group in silence. He wasn't a very social person... but he knew how to be social. He knew what people generally wanted to hear. He just didn't want to start a conversation. Because most people saw that as insecure. And he didn't want them to know that about him.
When he reached the fork in the road however. It seemed like there would be a discussion. Well, he might as well start it... something inside him said that would be a good thing to do.
"I say we take the middle one."
Topic: New Spores of Itanlok Q/A ~ 1
Subject: Sorry about late post...
But the reason I didn't post right away is Baldorf doesn't think he's heroic... and whenever he's tried, it's blown up in his face - hence the no braids. So therefore, he was thinking of trying to lure Hruby away, reassuring her someone else would handle it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't post in time. I was out all night last night, and couldn't get on the internet. So, post is coming now... but sorry it was late.
I'm kinda at a fork here... Do you want me to maybe do something kinda against my character that would help the plot, or keep to my character, and move away from the injured child?
Subject: What? What is this?
Baldorf was taken aback by the Khord woman who had roared at him, then changed her tone so suddenly upon seeing him. Did this lass think he was attractive? Maybe his luck was turning around and he was being accepted into Khord society. Maybe they would elope, and live their lives together... Baldorf blinked. Better slow down. His beard was blowing very hard.
"Hruby? Nice to meet you. I'm Baldorf."
However, he didn't have much time to talk before she was leading him through the crowd to a private room. This was like a dream come true...
But, of course, an abrupt stop came to his dreams again. The way was blocked by Helengir Thunderhand. She was a huge woman, and had that look on her face... And she was blocking their way. And she would probably not just let them by.
"Hruby, come with me. I know a way to get lost in the crowd, and then we can come back here... Unless Thunder thighs is still blocking the road."
With that, Baldorf grabbed Hruby's hand and brought her through the crowd, going through clumps of people and around everywhere, waiting for Helengir to move in order to get to the room where Hruby had intended them to go and... Well, he tried not to get his hopes up.
My bad guys. I hadn't seen any activity, so I wasn't posting, since it didn't seem like a decision was reached...
And then life had to jump in and be a &$%@* so I am unable to carry on this game at the pace I'd like... the similar situation is happening with my other game.
That being said however, RL shouldn't be as heavy as it is for too long... it shouldn't even be this heavy now... but I will come back to run this game, if you're all still willing to play. if not, I understand.
Players of the game "Of Dragons and Men."
Life has thrown me an unanticipated fastball, and I am unable to continue this game for the moment if I want to deliver a quality game to my players. And, being me, anything less than quality when it comes to RP, is unacceptable.
This game WILL be picked back up... and you will see me coming by the Inn. But, I will be unable to do quality posting here for a while. I've got a lot of work to do... and, sadly, RL comes first.
Sorry for not getting this to you sooner, but I tried to juggle it... and it didn't work. I wasn't satisfied with my posting quality at this point in the game.
I hope you will all be willing to return to this game when it starts up again. I'm hoping that will be around December at latest.
Topic: New Spores of Itanlok ~ 1 ~ A Short Adventure in Audalis
Subject: What does one do at a wedding?
Baldorf sure didn't know. He had a bit of ale, but he didn't much fancy the stuff. He only had it when a group of Khords came up and was drunk enough to pick up the random Khord there and have a drink with him. And that seemed to happen rarely. Baldorf sighed, stroking his hand through his beard. It did not have a single braid in it. He looked around and saw so many braids on so many faces. Not one. Turning away, he decided that the noise was too much for him. He just needed to be alone.
On his way away from the festivities, he felt a twinge of guilt. Befilda had invited him to this event. She knew that he had had an attraction to her, ever since he was a kid. But only fools can live in those illusions forever. Still, he may have owed it to her to be there...
"Nah, she wouldn't notice the fact I'm gone..." Baldorf said to himself. His hair seemed to ruffle in agreement, as though as strong breeze was blowing through... it wasn't. Baldorf continued walking, stroking his blowing, braidless beard. He would return in due time. He just needed a bit of time to think.
Subject: On the road again...
Altadys takes her leave of the princess, and gathers her possessions from the makeshift hospital. Slinging her bow over her back, and strapping her sword to her hip, and donning her armour. Slinging her pack over another shoulder, and her coin purse to her hip on the opposite side of her sword, she takes off. Walking to the gate, she is surprised to see Minwu there. Minwu produces a scroll from his robes, and hands it to Altadys. Upon inspection, she finds it is a map of the surrounding area. She notices that Pherae isn't on the map. But Fynn and Ostia are, and there is a rough circle drawn on. Minwu explains Altair was made just after the coup, so it is only shown by the circle. With kinda words, and a blessing from Pelor, Minwu sends Altadys on her way.
The trail to Ostia is calm and quiet, with the only interruptions being a couple small mammals, such as rabbits and weasels, as well as the odd herd of deer. However, nothing seems to be strange and out of the ordinary.
As the sun begins to set, the town of Ostia comes into view. While a few strange looks are cast your way, nobody takes any unnecessary action. Spending one gold piece, you are able to get a good room, and a hot meal.
The night, however, gives way to strange dreams. A lone man in black armour, blue hair, piercing black eyes. A wicked looking scimitar stood in his hand, staring at you, smiling. He never speaks, nor makes any gestures towards you in any way to attack you. He just stares at you. However, after what seemed to be an eternity, the arm holding his sword raises and points at you.
At that point, Altadys wakes. That man - whoever he was - was an image burned into Altadys' mind. Was it someone that would be in the future? Or was it someone who she knew in the past which she could not remember? Gathering her possessions again, and these questions flitting about her mind.
The travel from Ostia to Fynn is very different. There are no animals to distract you. The world seems very quiet - almost too quiet. This gives you plenty of time for the image of that man to haunt you.
But after a climb up a hill, you see what must be the city of Fynn. A large, multi leveled city surrounded by stone walls that must be as tall as 20 men, with towers all along the building mean for a very well defended city. It looks like the only way inside the city is through the main gate... but that might be suicide.
Looking to either side of the city, you notice a rough, natural cliff face on either side. It may be climbable, but that would require further inspection.
Your keen eyes also spot what appears to be a patrol. They wear heavy black cloaks, and black armour and helmets, with swords on their sides. Perhaps if you could catch one alone, and take his clothing, you might stand a chance of fitting in.
Either way, you are getting inside this city. The princess wants to know about her father, and has asked you to do so. It is up to you now. With the image of the man still haunting her, Altadys has to think about what to do.
