Subject: I know you can hear me... don't try to deny it.

After Miv leaves D'Artigo and Erina alone, D'Artigo starts mumbling to himself, though loud enough for Erina to hear. Almost as is he wants her to hear what he's saying.

"Yes, human blood tastes the best. Especially after activity, since it's moving, and warm and... ooo, how I love it."

"She was a pretty lass too. Just like you Angel. That woman was very kind. And all it took was a bit of a disguise, a sappy lie, and she was mine... then I drank her dry." He let out a long sigh.

"I can only wonder what the blood of those other than humans tastes like... And what other talents those races possess."

"Now you see Angel, there's a woman who knows what she is talking about." Letting out a rich laugh, D'Artigo lazily walked over to another tree and slumped down.

"Let me know when we are ready to go. Human soup and wine don't go well with my chemistry, so I'm starting to feel it a bit. The blood keeps it calm though... slightly."

"I assure you, I am flattered. As for my hair, it is perfectly fine where it is. My cloak keeps it in check. And of course... what woman doesn't like the stray bang going in front of the man's face?"

Subject: I'm thirsty... time to eat, then come back.

D'Artigo had run through the woods with no looking back. Time for the hunt, no other hesitations. There had to be something out here... ah! Yes! He could see it through the tree line, a small village. Time to go to work...

Magic coursed through his veins. Nothing major, but enough. As he began weaving the magic he felt the strain. All the better. If he was out of breath too, more people would go easy on him. His cloak became tattered and dirty, holes all over the fabric. His appearance had become even more handsome then before... under the mask of course. He would be a traveling bard. Then he would hunt his prey. Then he would drink.

After his disguise had been completed, he gingerly removed his mask, walking into the town. Exhausted from the magic use, he let out a few ragged coughs as he stumbled in. As he had expected, he was rushed to the nearest tavern, where he would warm up with a soup, and some warm wine. Even better, the people who found him offered to pay. He didn't have to even waste money. D'Artigo kept his hood up, over his face. He also kept his eyes open, when he noticed a young woman not too far down from him. Now it was time.

It was all routine. Talk to the girl. Make her like him. Bring her with him, find some place hidden. Have some fun. Then, for the part which would satisfy his hunger. The soup had been nice, but nothing could fill him. Nothing, like blood.

The woman's blond hair draped down around her shoulders and down to her mid back as she prepared to return to the city. D'Artigo stopped her, asking for the last embrace, one more time to put their faces together. As the embrace went on, D'Artigo slowly moved his head down, her neck, a bit of tongue sliding out through his teeth. He wanted her to enjoy her last few moments. His tongue was also the best at finding the soft spot. And he said what many a woman had heard as her last words in life.

"Thank you. I'm sure you'll taste delicious."

And with one swift motion, he pulled back his head, extended his fangs, and bit into the woman's jugular. The warmth that flowed into him was beautiful. He stifled her brief scream with his chest, slurping as the warm liquid poured into him. He was right. She did taste delicious.

Once she was dry, D'Artigo looked down at the lifeless corpse that lay at his feet. It was... a weakness of his, he called it. Grabbing her hand, he pricked his arm with her nail, letting some of his blood to pour out, and into her mouth. Not too much, but enough. The woman would rise as a vampire in a few days. With a final kiss to her cold lips, and crossing her arms over her, he nodded, satisfied, and gathered his belongings. Re-donning his mask, he chuckled as he looked at the inside of the mask as he had done so many times. Around the mouth, it was red. Dried blood was hard to remove.

As he ran back to where he had left the trail to his magic was beginning to fade. No matter. He was well enough away from the town for anyone to be able to do anything. He smiled inside his mask. Another successful hunt.

Returning to the trail, he headed in the direction which the others had been walking. Quickly gaining, he catches up with the stopped group.

"I see that you have kindly waited for me." He says. "I'm honoured." As he feels a blood drop leak out from under the mask, he does a quick slurp. "Have you all eaten?"

His eyes are back to his pale blue, though he has the gold flecks in them. His hood pulled down, his hair is slightly unkept, though nothing too severe.

Topic: Vampires VS Lycanthropes
Subject: Well, if we wanna get technical...

In the book series I'm reading - the Witchling, Changeling, Darkling series by Yasmine Galenorn - it says that Lycan is actually restriced to werewolves, whereas 'Were' is the general term... werepenguin included

But as for my opinion on this... it depends which Vampire reference and which Were reference we are using. If we use the twilight vamp reference, then it is hands down Weres. But, if we use the example of Vampires from the books mentioned above, then I would say vampires.

Sorry to all you twilight fans... not really, but take it anyway... but vampires are supposed to burn when they go into the sun. Not sparkle.

Just my two cents on the matter.

D'Artigo's eyes began to shift, but this time not to red, as normal in his blood lust and hunt. This time, they shift to a bright silver, with small gold flecks appearing throughout them. A faint scraping from the other side of his mask signals the extension of his fangs. Staring Miv in the eyes, his eyes seem to mix with each other, making the gold flecks in his eyes move around, not simply stay in one place. His voice, silky smooth, and sweeter than the sugarcane spoke softly.

"Just remember Pale Rose. I may call you my queen, but this is not important. You are a child of the night. My child of the night. Mine you are, and shall be. Pale Rose... admire the eyes. You will not see my face. My face is not to be seen. Not by you four anyways. Yet. Love the eyes. Not the man." A slurping sound is audible from behind his mask, as though he is licking his lips behind the mask, though having a tough time reaching all around them.

"Now if you'll excuse me..." His eyes change from the silver and gold to a blood red. A small growl comes from his throat. "The hunt is on."

As D'Artigo runs off the path, he calls back. "I will meet up with you later. The hunt calls, and I am thirsty. There will be someone... I mean, something of which I can drink the blood of. Something... tasty."

"Angel makes you sad does she? Merely because of the burning statement, is that it? Well then..."

With a small jerk of his hand, followed by a release and a grab with the same arm, D'Artigo pulls Miv closer, sliding his arm around her waist.

"Don't worry Pale Rose" he coos. "I am here. The two of you sisters? I find that hard to believe. Friends maybe. And friends have fights. Let her apologize to you. In the meanwhile... I can help you."

As he set off with the other three D'Artigo whistled back. "Jessica! We're leaving now. Is the cat going to come along with us?" What a lovely group. Him, a Lycan female, a vamp female, a fallen angel female and an angel - also female. This was his kind of group.

"Then clearly, you'd never met me before. Which you hadn't, Angel. So therefore, I'm not surprised. I'm also not picky."

"Looking down at his hand, then squeezing Miv's tighter, he replies with a voice thick and sweet as honey. "As you wish it Pale Rose. With them we go."

"I know what to do. Go straight. Hobgoblins are pushovers! I could kill ten in my sleep!" Almyrikon grunted. These pushovers. Wouldn't even take on hobgoblins.

"And is it too much to ask for small words? We've done this before."

"Thank you Lovely. And while it may be true that such a thing could happen, I do not act without the Pale Rose's word. You won't get me going anywhere... well, maybe not anywhere... without her. She is my Rose, and I protect her."

Turning to looks at Erina, he says "And Angel. This is rather unusual behaviour. I'm not certain I've seen an Angel and a Fallen that close since... well... the last time they came to enlist help of mine. Help, of course."

"Aye, you may be right Angel... I'm sorry, I missed your name?... But what's to say you're giving us the best way out? You're an Angel... in two ways. But still... not the best choice for a creature like I." D'Artigo's head tilts sideways. This would be interesting.

In a voice so quiet that only Miv could here him, D'Artigo chuckles. "I knew you'd come to me some time. Soon enough everyone does. You'll learn to appreciate me later though. Be calm though Pale Rose. You are safe." He let's her leave his grasp as she moves to, though not without a slight squeeze while she is still in his grasp.

Calling out in a fair voice, he said "Angel! Not the pretty lass which I know. What business have you with our Angel there?"

"Alright! Time to go smash! Let's go the quickest way! These things won't know what hit them when the force of the Bearspaw falls down on them!" Almyrikon's hair had been done this morning. It was tied into a ponytail, and that ponytail was wrapped around his neck. His bear tattoos were now obvious and in the open. His axe in hands, he was ready for battle. And the excitement showed on his face.
