Subject: Me too but...

Gas now costs 25 cents a gallon. Over the years, the World falls into financial bankrupt because of inflation while the fuel companies still only charge 25 cents, causing a huge economic failure that places the world in debt and life as we know ceases to exist.

I dunno, that's scary to me...

I wish that nothing bad ever happened to me.

PS. You're both wrong.

PPS. I win.

Moments later, your drink comes out, the serving girl also with a note in her hand. "Here you go. Oh, and is your name by Chance Eldarwen?"

Subject: Okay Pyres, wake up

As you discuss what tomorrow may hold, a portly female woman clad in priestly robes bustles in. She looks at the three of you, all in turn. Nodding approvingly, she begins to turn, then sees Pyres lying down, unconscious, with a bit of a yelp, she bustles her way over. When only halfway to Pyres, she trips. Getting up, muttering harshly to herself, she bustles the rest of they way, places a hand on Pyres' head, and begins to shake and twitch. Near the end, her hand starts to glow. Removing her hand,
(Pyres, 1 HP Normal - 12/12 - all subdual healed.)
she says to the rest of you:

"You should watch out for each other. Helps more people survive. Come now, I've prepared each of you a room. Up the stairs, turn left, and the first through fourth on the left side. You're wake up is scheduled before sunrise. At least, that's what that man said. O' course, that was before his head rolled off. But no blood, and here you are, so might as well heed a dying man's words."

The old man turns to you, gives you a look up and down and says,

"And now three becomes four. The prophecy is in motion."

Putting Pyres down, the man walks to the door.

"Stay the night and rest. Tomorow is an important day for you four."

With that, the man walks out into the night, seeming to be heading towards the gates again.

My character might, (will) but I wouldn't. However, as I am only human, I made an error. It happens to be in "complete adventurer". Sorry for the misunderstanding. if you still cannot find it, look in heroforge, under the complete adventurer prestige classes. I was merely thinking of that book, as I was examining choices for another character at the time.

"Alright, onward we go." The man walks away from the city, grunting as he shifts Pyres unconscious body. "Young one's these days. Always carry so much..."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Out of context: Nothing incredibly interesting happens here. You travel along the low roads, often narrowly missing patrols. Around dusk, you arrive in the city of Bree.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Coming up on the city gates of Bree, the man walks up to the gates, and knocks carefully on the gates. Suddenly, a small opening slides open, only a pair of eyes visible. The person to whom the eyes belong say something which is indistinguishable, then the venerable man says, "Water Lily."

The gatesman opens the gates enough for you to enter. The venerable man, now breathing rather heavy after a days travel of carrying Pyres, walks to the nearest Inn. He says to you, "Here is a place you can rest. I cannot travel further with you, but from here, Altair is easy enough to get too. You should continue there, it is safer than here." Looking at Randall and Arhaedielle, he asks "Is there any final questions you posess?"

It helps. And it's pretty cool as well, fits my characters personality.

As for spymaster, it is 3.5, in Complete Scoundrel. It gives me:

-cover identities, which give me bonuses to disguise, bluff, and gather information when I am in them.
-Undetectable Alignment continually active
-Bonus on saves against divination.
-Nystul's Magic aura at will, caster level equals class level.
-Sneak Attack
-Slippery Mind
-Dispel Scrying

It's pretty much the spy of the group, getting on the inside, then getting out without notice.

Well, that's perfectly fine. I relized that it would be difficult to communicate over the web.

Also, are templates allowed if they do not exceed the level limit? I was looking at half air elemental. I would also like to make a roguish character, but definately have it as the diplomat/informant. I was definately thinking a Chaotic Good Rogue/Spymaster. Is this accepltable?

Hunt the guy down. Sounds more fun, and less of a guilt trip.

Would you rather fall 30,000 feet from an airplane and die, or have a submarine 30,000 feet under the ocean collapse with you in it due to water pressure?

Well, I've read up on the race. Sounds good to me. It's essentially a dwarf from D&D 3.5, right?

As for Character concept, I would like to make a swordsage, from Tome of Battle, of the Desert Wind discipline. I hope that's okay. If not, then I'll choose something else

"Years ago, after I had just entered the monastic guild, a odd man walked in. His hair was whiter than snow, his eyes gold like a cat's. He was shaking, and blubbering to himself. Suddenly, he collapsed. Elders rushed to him, and I listened close by. Then, the man was filled with divine light, and spoke the following:

In ages of dark, light will shine,
In ages of power, it shall be mine.

Though they know not they be the four,
And they shall guard us evermore.

The corrupt know their hearts are black,
Those with pure hearts never crack.

The time will come to hunt the man,
And after that, to live again.

On the day of turmoil, they be away,
So that no harm may come to they.

Seperated they are, three and one,
If that they stay, then our world is done.

Not once but twice for them to win,
The threat lives on in the fires of Shrin.

Remember this, to the word.
If it is forgotten, their rests not a bird.

The man shudders visibly, then resumes speaking.

"After this, that old chaps head simply rolled off his shoulders. Not cut, no blood. Merely rolled off. However, for the time now, that is not important. Let us begin our travel to Bree. Unless you've any other concerns. If not, just say, and I shall lead."

Still got room for another player? I'm afraid I'm not entirely familiar with the Audalis setting yet, as I'm rather new here, but I can learn it simple enough. Do you still have room for me?

In a great voice, the monk says:

"You foolish human! I'm truly sorry, but I must do this... it's for your own good. After all: Those of the prophecy may not die foolishly!"

Suddenly, with the speed of legend, the man charges after Pyres. Catching up easily, his fist comes down hard on the top of his head. However, at the last possible second, the monk opens his hand, making the blow much less lethal, but still dropping Pyres unconscious. (Pyres: Hit. 46 subdual.)

Picking Pyres and all his gear up, surprising for a man of that age, he runs back up the hill, meeting both Randall and Arhaedielle before they make it even a quarter of the way down.

"Quickly! We must go. I will carry this man until we are into the southern city of Bree. It is not far. We must hurry though, lest those brigands give chase. Or are you all as foolhardy as he?"

Resting on the hill the world is serens at the moment. Suddenly, you hear a loud crack to the north. Looking in that direction, you see trees falling in the forest, along with large pillars of smoke rising, indicating a fire rising up from the forest. On the wind, the smell of burning wood can be smelt clearly. In a matter of seconds, an identifiable path can be seen through the forest.

Soon, along with the thudding of trees crashing down, the sound of screams can be barely heard from the city. Very faint, yet the fact that you can hear them from how far you are is a feat in itself. Some people can be seen coming from the city, moving at a considerable pace, seeming to be fleeing something.

In your mind, you can tell something is wrong, as the world is not how it should be. Your city is in chaos, anarchy, panic...destruction. Why is this happening? Maybe it's worth investigating...then again, maybe not.

One of the faster people was already at the hill while you were looking in awe. The man, a venerable human in simple white robes, looking to be of the monastic order of the city, says to you:

"Flee my brothers! Lord Borghen has caused a revolt! His army has already plowed through the forest and the northern gate, completely catching us unaware! I saw him head towards the castle! One can only hope the Princess Hilda and King Armon are alright... follow me, we will travel to the remote city of Altair. We had that plan in place in case anything uncontrolable happened...this seems fit."

Our party was traveling through the woods, and suddenly, our DM put on a wicked smile, and said: A strange green mist starts to swirl around you, what do you do?" I was druid at the time, and tried to cast, gust of wind, to blow it away, but that didn't work. Then, the DM said "It starts forming into a strange shape in front of you, but you can't tell what it is yet." I asked our ranger if he could try something. Then, he said, "I put a stick in it, kinda the upper leftish." I groaned, thinking it was a dumb idea. The DM asked, "It's left, of your left?" My friend replied "it's left."

Suddenly, and old man forms in front of us, with a stick stuck right in his left side of the chest, where a heart would be. Gasping for air, he said "Who ruins an entrance like that?" Then died. Turns out, this was the big bad evil guy of the whole campaign, who turned out to be a 28th level wizard, who we were supposed to fight at about 20th level. We all received enough xp to get to 16th level, and were forced on to an entirely different adventure.

So kids, always remember - sticks are friends. Not things used to whack other friends with.

Topic: You want to play a WHAT?!? (strange character ideas)
Subject: Animal Woes.

Well, just a few days back, I was playing in my campaign, and our DM had something sneak into our rooms. We couldn't tell what it was at first, but then I, being the elf who was somewhat aware while he slept, felt something walk on him, and he woke up. He looked down to see a mouse in a french army uniform, holding a sewing needle in one hand. Confused, he tried to pick the mouse up. However, when he moved his hand, the mouse took out his needle, and poked my character.

Turns out, this was an awakened mouse ninja/assassin. I failed my fort save, and died. This has been the most embarassing death ever experienced for me, and I couldn't help but laugh.

As for the strangest thing I've wanted to play... I've wanted to play a warforged reforged monk. The concept of a robot being stripped of it's metal, so that it's basically a stick attending a monastery was too funny for me not to pass it down.

Subject: My favourite?

Probably a Rogue. First character I played, and I found it a lot of fun, always hiding, and coming up when you least expect it.

But Clerics are really fun when they're made the right way, especially when they're brought more into the combat realm.

And then, there's the swordsage. Incredibly fun class from Tome of Battle. If I get the chance to play one, I probably will. Most of the people I play with however, won't allow them, thinking they're "unbalanced"
