"Precious!"

Alexandria beamed as Precious came back and was swept up in her embrace. Holding the dragonette close, Alexandria couldn't help but wonder where Flame was... it was unlike him to let Precious out of his sight...

Holding Precious back at an arms length, Alexandria asks, "Precious... where's Flame? Wasn't he with you?"

Altadys stood from the medical bed, walking toward the entrance. Along the left and right gave her glimpses of wounded, some with missing limbs, some with heavy bandages, and some dead, but not yet noticed. The battle which Minwu had been talking about must have been very fierce to create this many wounded. And this was likely not all of them.

However, Altadys walked through the door and looked to see the community of Pherae. It had been simply set up in a hurried rush so it seemed. There were many tents gathered close together, encompassed by a shoddy wooden fence. Some of the tents were open to reveal a fire pit with an anvil and some poorly made swords and axes. Another revealed leather studded armour, with one breastplate. Some were simply residential, with people living inside them on cots. The world which these people were in was one of simplicity. And distress, so it seemed.

One large tent in the middle of the city was surrounded by a finer fence. It was closed, and there stood two guards, one wearing a helmet covering his face, and another who looked like he shouldn't still be wearing his breastplate and wielding his spear. The old one calls out in a weak bark, "What business have you here?"

When you explain that Minwu sent you, the one wearing the helmet snorts.

"Yeah right, she's probably lying Jim. She was probably sent by Kylar to assassinate the princess." His voice, surprisingly, sounds young, around the age of 12.

The old man whacks him in the back of his head. "You idiot, Minwu can see the truth. He wouldn't let her come by if she was an assassin. Go ahead woman."

Walking inside the tent, there is a woman ahead of you, dressed in elegant, if slightly stained gowns. "What is you business here woman? I am very busy with the rebellion. Speak now." Her voice has a musical sound to it, lightening your spirit. This must be the princess.

"Nino, child your mother misses you. You should come back to the house and see her. After all you cannot complete your mission without her."

Selunine waits patiently, listening to the wind for some indication of her spell being successful. After 10 seconds, she hears a voice on the wind.

Yes, I will come back... NOT! My mind is not weak as you think, Selunine Lhianna'anei.

The wind then seems to laugh at you in a mocking fashion. Nino seems to have been able to resist the compulsion, despite Selunine's training in the art.

The elderly man, taken aback, regarded Altadys seriously. He shook his mouth forming a slight frown. "Altadys, I never said you weren't in danger. I said that you were destined to be a hero. The path will be dangerous. But everything else I have told the truth, I swear on the grace of Pelor that I have."

Suddenly a voice from the entrance of the hospital called out, "There's more wounded that we've found Master Minwu! We need your help! We need your expertise!"

The elderly man called back, "Okay, be there in a shake!" He turned back to Altadys, a sorry look in his eyes. Standing he said, "I have to tend to the other wounded. We're going to need every soldier we can get if we want to win this war. And that includes you. If you wish to go see the princess, simply head toward the large tent in the middle and tell the guards that Minwu the Priest sent you. They will let you in. Safe travels Altadys."

@ Loki: Yeah, same as Bri, and everyone else, your guild info is on the way.

@ Bez: Yes, you will be provided with a map of the area which you are to travel.

"Precious! Flame! What're- no!"

Alexandria sat on her horse shocked as the two dragonettes flew into the portal. There was absolutely no controlling them... but, they were good friends, and starting to feel more like family since she had nursed Precious back to health. But they said that this vortex now led to their homeworld... Well, perhaps Alexandria could spread Eilistraee's word on a new plane of existence... That would help further her cause even more. She called out to the others.

"I'm going in after them! Whether or not you come, I won't judge you. But I'm going! Until we meet again!"

And with that, Alexandria spurred her horse onward, aiming for the hole which the two dragons had dove into. They weren't getting away this now.

Subject: Nimu...

Okay, I'm having one problem here... to quote the demand spell entry in the PHB:

This spell functions like sending but you can attach a suggestion...

And then to quote sending

You contact a particular creature with which you are familiar and send a short message.

And now, to quote dictionary.com:

Familiar:
1. commonly or generally known or seen: a familiar sight.
2. well-acquainted; thoroughly conversant: to be familiar with a subject.
3. informal; easygoing; unceremonious; unconstrained: to write in a familiar style.
4. closely intimate or personal: a familiar friend; to be on familiar terms.
5. unduly intimate; too personal; taking liberties; presuming: The duchess disliked familiar servants.

I don't know that you're very familiar with Nino. But, if you can provide justification, it'll fly.

And also, since you were all so good at getting your posts in early, I put another update up so you wouldn't have to wait another week.

Achilles' demands fall on deaf ears, and the witch has ears only for her mistress, Selunine. Tensions run high however, as Mora snaps at him, telling him to be quiet, and return that which he found. While he currently bears the amulet, the book was given to Trillion to attempt to decipher, though it was cast down in the heat of battle, and is on the ground only a few feet away.

However, there were other matters at hand. Selunine asked the witch more questions, which caused her to answer.

"Yes my mistress, all of my enhancements are now dropped. There are no magicks which surround me.

Also, about the key. It is one of a pair. Only the two of them together will grant entrance to the Shrine of the Ancients. While I don't know the exact details, since I have not personally been there myself, Linus has told me to great detail what I must do. In the shrine there will be a door with two holes - one that fits that key, and another which fits the key which Nino has. I was supposed to place my key in the hole, then Nino would approach the door and place hers. At that point, under Linus' orders, I was supposed to freeze my daughter in place with magicks, as when both keys are placed in the door it awakens the guardian of the shrine which must either be defeated, or have a sacrifice given to it. Nino was to be the sacrifice, and I would take the summoning tools and Ninian inside to complete the ritual. The way that it will help you find my daughter is because if she is there first, she must wait for the second key to be entered into the slot before she can proceed. That will be your chance to find her."

"That is all I know my mistress."

Sonia bowed before Selunine, giving respect to her mistress.

Meanwhile, Ninian picked up the book which had been cast away, and brought it over to Mora. "Here's the book Mora. But I don't think it belongs to your family. I've seen it before. I think..." She gulped. "Unless I'm wrong, this book belongs to Eliwood. And it was written by my brother. And you said there was an amulet that was with it? Then that must be... If they are both here then... Maybe Eliwood or Nils have come by here! Maybe they're still alive!"

Everyone had gathered around the witch by the time Selunine had finished giving her command. Sonia's head spun in a oval pattern, and then stopped, looking at Selunine with a smile on her face. "Yes my mistress. I will begin immediately."

Sonia steps back and takes off a band that was underneath her hair, and lays it on the ground. "That is a headband which grants its wearer great mental insight, and intelligence. It has served me well, and made my magicks more potent."

(OOC: Headband of Intellect +6)

She then takes off the ring on her left hand and places it on the headband. "This ring creates a magical field around the person, hindering anything which is attempting to come into contact with it. It is very good for defense for someone who can't use armour, such as myself, thought it would certainly aid someone who could use it, providing extra protection."

(OOC: Ring of Protection +2)

She takes of a second ring, from her left hand, and places it on the headband as well. "This ring, on the other hand, creates a invisible shield, which floats just off the arm. It is very useful again, giving the shield's protection, while not having to wield it physically. Another protective item."

(OOC: Ring of Force Shield)

Taken off silken gloves, she proceeds to say, "The gloves enhance your reflexes, whether subconscious or otherwise. They also aid in manipulation, and are a very comfortable fit. They never rip, and are a very good for all users."

(OOC: Gloves of Dexterity +4)

Reaching up to her neck she unclips a necklace with what appears to be a large scale as its pendant aspect. "This amulet toughens the skin of anyone wearing it, making it very difficult to injure them. Another defensive boon that will aid anyone.

(OOC: Amulet of Natural Armour +2)

She then pulls off her shirt, revealing a chained shirt beneath it that seems to glow with a faint blue, almost like when the sun has set past the horizon. She begins taking it off, while explaining, "This suit of armour is very rare, and is a great aid to any practitioner of the arcane arts. It provides all the sturdiness of normal armour, however," She holds it out and folds it twice with very little effort. "It is very flexible, almost like cloth, and permits us to move gracefully."

(OOC: +3 Mithral Twilight Chain Shirt)

"Those are all of my magical possessions, and I bear no arms with me. However, as you requested, here is my spellbook."

She produces a think book, with fine bindings, and gold patterns along the cover and spine. Upon skimming through it, you find it is nearly full.

"And this mistress." She takes out a odd shaped item, walks over, and gives it to Selunine. "This is the key. Take it. It will help you find my daughter."

At Selunine's second set of questions, the woman giggles, magical overload seeming to affect her now. "Nino was going to the isle of the ancients to try and bring back the ancients of course. The dragons are supposed to walk this land again, just like Linus said. He is going to control them and use their evil ferocity to control the world, and I'm going to be his queen. Nino has all the necessary components to complete the summoning ritual, except for one."

"And the one she is missing, is Ninian. That's why I was here to get her, Ninian is a crucial part of the summoning, and so we need her. She knows that too, since she already ran away from us once."

"Does my mistress require anything else of me?" Sonia stands there waiting, all of her possessions on the ground except her skirt.

It's difficult for someone who practices simply the art to do so often, let alone someone who also practices swordplay. Would it not be better to have a wand to make it easier?"

Post is up.

Now, you'll notice that the guild information is rather light. This is because, like mentioned in the post, guilds are secretive about certain things. You will all be getting a PM about your guild, complete with headmaster/mistress, views, objectives, possible resources, and the like. I don't have that 100% done yet, so you should get it tomorrow.

That being said, I'm going to try something that's a bit different that normal post on the forum gaming. Interactions with the guild headmaster/mistress will be handled via PM.

This is to keep an element of surprise to the game.

That being said... GAME ON!!!

The city of Champa lies on the southern coast of the continent of Esper, bordering the Eastern Ocean. To the north is the Misty Mountains, and past them lies the Sundra Desert. Champa's main source of trade is the fishing business, as the fish seem drawn to the unique type of coral which grows about an hour time of sailing off the shore. Champa and it's citizens are well supplied with their own fish, and there is enough to trade all around the Eastern Ocean.

The city is also dominated by seven guilds: The Umbra Guild, The Black Raven Guild, The Arborus Guild, The Silver Tower Guild, The Vento Guild, The Nekros Guild, and The Dripping Tankard Guild.

The Umbra guild mainly consists of spies and thieves. The King often calls on this guild in times of war to locate important items or people crucial to an enemy's success, and take them out.

The Black Raven Guild believes strongly in unity. A guild focused mainly on exploring, they often set out to sea, bringing back wonderful maps and detailed accounts of what is out there, and often sells such goods.

The Arborus Guild is an expert on herbalism and alchemy, using natural elements for medicinal purposes. The guild is also famous for their spices, and they are in very large demand outside of Champa, and very valuable to some.

The Silver Tower Guild is the all about being able to tackle any situation by relying on the diverse skill set of their members. This guild was famous for defending Champa in the Age of Reckoning.

The Vento Guild has undergone many experiments, and recently have had a breakthrough - the airship. It's an incredibly fast form of transport, and able to land anywhere on land. Unique to Champa, they take any concept and experiment with it.

The Nekros Guild is the guild which protects the dead. Many of the townsfolk avoid them, thinking them to be morbid and disturbed. However, they are the holiest of people, holding a direct connection to the gods, sending the dead to their final rest. Occasionally, a request is denied...

The Dripping Tankard Guild is in charge of the entertainment of Champa. They control all the taverns and are the sponsors of the traveling group, "The Go-go-gos." Well liked and well known in foreign countries, emissaries often bring a fine bottle or two of their wine as a gift of goodwill.

The guilds dominated over the city, and kept plenty of their secrets to themselves, lest the other guilds attempt to take advantage of a certain aspect. The council of seven, having been second only to the King, is arguably the best ruling system known to man.

Then, one day, the King calls together the council of seven. As it turns out, the fish have suddenly disappeared. And not just fishing is sparse, and hard to come by - the fish have actually disappeared out of the water. Divers went out to investigate, and found the coral that had once attracted them was still there, but the waters seemed warmer. The king, seeming to know something, asks each guild for a rookie to represent them.

The Umbra Guild chose a short halfling, who was introduced as Efferi Buckold, of the Umbra.

The Black Raven Guild chose a dark warrior, with hints of elven blood, Drizzt do'Urden, of the Ravens.

The Arborus guild put forth an elf in wild clothing, who was revealed as Elendara Autumnleaf, of the Arborus.

The Silver Tower guild took a long time to discuss, due to their adversity, when finally, a choice is reached, and a towering man with a brutish look comes forth, introducing himself as Braxtue Gnarlgun, of the Silver Tower.

The Vento Guild discussed among their master machinists, and called out a name, Lenwë Helyanwë of the Ventos. Seconds later, a humanoid with very bird like features - and even a pair of wings - came forward.

The Nekros guild was uninterested by a matter of living fish, as more dead would mean that they've got more business.

The Leaking Tankard Guild attempted to put forth two representatives, but both were denied, as they were attempting to gain more notoriety, and were forbidden to choose one.

The king then speaks to the five champions.

"Champions of the five guilds! You would do best to get to know each other very well. You will be doing your guilds an honour, and will be aiding me in something very special. But you will be sticking together for quite some time. I suggest you five get resources from your guild that you may need. As soon as you have done so, report to the castle, where you will be given further instruction."

With that, the king turns around and walks into a carriage, which rumbles off in the direction of the castle. You five should return to your guilds now, and speak with your head masters and mistresses.

"Well Altadys, you're healing up very well. Not many people could've taken a wound like that and recovered without serious long lasting wounds. Ivan, our prophet, claimed that such an event would happen... well, I suppose you should know... since you're a part of it now."

The old man pulled up a simple chair. He sat down, preparing himself for a long tale.

"It all started about two fortnights ago. You see, I am the chief cleric to the court and crown. I never interacted with commoners before, but this situation... well, you'll see why.

In Fynn - the capital of this country - I served his highness King James IV, and his daughter, Princess Aria. The two were kinda and just rulers, being fair to their subjects, and not taking more money than they needed. They also took more money from the rich, to permit the poorer to have a more comfortable living, if only a little. They were loved by the people... by some more than others though, and that is where our tale begins.

I was not the only one in direct employment of the court and crown... there was a man named Nergal, a powerful guard, and the general of the armies. He always thought the nobles were too slack, but they kept him in check, and he always ended up obeying. He fought against the... Bubbles, we've taken to calling them. Our city was built on a ley line, so we had many magical summonings of strange and often powerful creatures. He defended us, and so we thought we were safe as long as we had him. Well...

It turns out, we were wrong to trust him. He had been secretly planning a rebellion, but for how long I don't know. One day, he simply entered the court room, unannounced, and much to sure of himself. The hand picked royal guards lowered their spears, but he then charged in with his own soldiers. There were simply too many. But the soldiers did a good enough job that I was able to take Aria and run through the secret passage. The king was behind me... but he sealed the entrance behind him, and I heard him draw his blade... To this day, I don't know if he managed to miraculously survive. We can only assume the worst.

However, this means that his son, Kylar, now holds the throne. He is placed in the most defendable place in the country. Even if we gathered all the militaries in the country other than the soldiers they have in Fynn, then we would still fail to penetrate it."

The old man gathers himself, allowing you to take the time to digest the story so far. After a few seconds he begins again.

"So I'm sure that you are wondering how this affects you. Well, Ivan the prophet recently had a vision. This vision seemed very obscure... but it was simple in meaning. We would have a hero come, and we would find them in a field, alone. That is it. And now we've found you... so perhaps you are the hero which Ivan saw. That is what I think. Altadys... I know this might be a bit much, but please. Do your best to fulfill this prophecy. I'm asking you personally. I'm not asking you to kill Kylar and Nergal... yet. But for now, I would just like an answer. What will you do now?"

When Selummiel came back, sporting a nice new blade, Xavier raised his eyebrows. "That's a new look for you Sel. I never knew you were quite a blade person. You fancying picking up the blade to defend us?"

Then a thought passed through Xavier's head. "Uh, wait a second guys... Do we have enough food for a long trip like this? I mean, we don't even know how long this is going to be... Xavier walks back to the centre of the market, where Tannif was, and was surprised to see Chiron already back. The man seemed like one who would spend everything in his possession - even his dignity perhaps - in order to be prepared for a situation. And yet, he had spent less time than Xavier out spending his coin... and Xavier didn't even have to look too hard. Hoping to get on the better side of the dutiful warrior in case his secret be revealed, and still having quite a bit of coin left in his pocket, Xavier walked over to Chiron, deciding to address the matter.

"Hey, Chiron my friend. It looks like you're in quite the sad situation there. What's wrong my friend?"

(To save the complication of having to RP all this...)

"So lemme get this straight... you're short 20 gold to make all of your purchases? Well..."

Xavier reaches into his cloak very briefly and grabs out the sac of gold that the governor gave him. Pulling out gold pieces one by one, he counts them aloud.

"... eighteen, nineteen, twenty. There you go Chiron. I have 20 gold here that might be able to ease your coin purses suffering. But... you'll have to repay me somehow. However, I can't think of anything now. So let's just say you owe me a solid later on in our adventuring? Does that bode well with you?"

Xavier takes out a smaller pouch, and places the 20 gold inside it, and holds it out in his right hand, in the way one would signal for a handshake. Xavier intends for the gold to be passed when they shake hands, agreeing on the deal.
