Topic: The Spores of Itanlok - Q/A
Subject: As we delve into the past...

Well, I think this is what Almerin wanted, is for there to be conflict in the decision, so that we would discuss, and gel as a party.

Baldorf - while timid - has a strong sense of duty, and is backed up by... otherwordly powers, we'll say. He will not back down easily, but if you do convince him, he will back down.

Subject: Hello all.

Thought I'd put a post up here. I'm the new guy, of course, but I'm glad to be here. Reading the first few posts of the campaign thread, it looks like this is right up my alley. Looking forward to it.

Not so much Advanced Dungeons and Dragons... I just flirt back and forth between different character concepts. Before the concept I sent you, I had been thinking about a professional underground assassin. The ne'er do well changed to the ne'er do wrong.

So I just invented a new one pretty much. I like his concept much more than my previous one. I PM'd you the answer to all those questions which you had posted. If there's anything else you need to know, then I will be glad to supply you with the info.

Subject: My turn.

I have a silver lightsaber

My lightsaber is silver, what color is yours? Take the quiz.

Your Lightsaber is Silver.
You are not good. You are not evil. You aren't quiet sure where you fit in the galaxy. You are probably a grey jedi.

Other famous jedi with silver lightsabers:

Alema Rar
Corran Horn
Tionne Solusar

I will send you a character concept via PM.

Also, thank you for the offer of the pre gens, but I don't exactly enjoy playing pregens if I have the option of my own character. I will get to those questions!

Though I do have a character concept in mind, I am willing to play anything which we need in the group. What kind of character does the group need? I prefer to ply something not magic oriented, as I'd find it difficult to learn the system in time to be effective. I was thinking a thief kinda of character. Is that okay?

If the spots still open, I will work on fleshing out my concept, but if it's closed, then I won't worry about it. I assume you're making the sheet, as it's your own rules system?

Subject: A scream crying for help! This looks like a job for... someone else.

Baldorf caught up with the group as they continued moving on, apparently having found some tracks. Of course, nobody had noticed him leave, and nobody really noticed him show up again. He followed silently, but when the female scream came, he could do nothing but exclaim his thoughts.

"Uh... that sounded like some bad screams. Something else must be attacking the remaining children! We should go after them, shouldn't we? I mean... that's what we're here to do, not to follow tracks. Right?"

Timid as always, Baldorf's voice is not very loud, but loud enough to be heard by the others as they were in front of him.

I'm appollo... there was one ealier, so I won't really try to hard to put the image up. As for the description however...

Well... I think I'm awesome looking. And I do enjoy archery and music. I'm not sure about everyone liking me and everything, but that's still a pretty good description...

Topic: The Embodiment
Subject: Well...

To begin, it's kinda the same, at least from what I view.

--------------------------------

There's no hp or levels, as well as classes.

Uses d10's a lot.

Focuses on skills.

Anything can kill you... I mean, ANYTHING. Body parts are very important for combat strikes.

More real based than fantasy based... if you jump off a 100 foot cliff, you do not take 10d6 points of damage - you die.

Magic is freestyle, but difficult to control...

No real religions... just views on life (philosophy)

------------------------------

Is that more or less it? If so, I would like to join, though it would be nice if I could get some help with character creation. I hope this is okay.

As for fear of rules/DM... I can cope with that. Some of my DMs are afraid of my character's by the time I'm done with story and such.

I usually play D&D v3.5, but I would love to find a new game to play, and this looks like just the ticket.

I've heard of a game kinda like this... but it might be completely different. Have you heard of the game "riddle of steel?" If so, is it anything like that?

I will read it over, and may be interested. But if more experienced players come in, I will give way to them.

Subject: The leaving of Bree.

After an eventful night, the the three companions decide that it be best to heed the angel's words, and head out towards Altair. Heading out in the crisp morning light, the three companions decide to travel by foot, as horses would be too large to hide in case the need arise. The sun not even up yet, they leave the southern gates of Bree.

The crisp morning air cool on their faces, the southern travel is much more beautiful than the previous trip south. The air was fresh, no longer filled with the stench of burning wood, and the shrieks of citizens. The world was almost separate from the horrors seen up north.

Around midday, you arrive at a small clearing on top of a hill. Your legs aching, your stomachs growling, this seems like a perfect place to enjoy the meal prepared by the mistress at the inn. You have made excellent time on your way down, and you are able to see a village in the distance, possibly Altair. If you continue at your pace, as hard as it is, you guess you could make it there by about sunset. But with the sun beating down on you, perhaps it is time for a quick rest.

Time passes by uneventfully in the room, as evening fades to night, and night fades to morning. The late summer day is beginning, but sunrise is not for another hour or so.

However, with a faint click, the door opens. Nothing seems to walk in, until a tall, slender form walks into the middle of the room. Short cropped brown hair frames a pale face with piercing green eyes. His leathers, completely black and slicked so as to prevent sound when moving, were in perfect condition. A black cloak was wrapped around him, with many odd, square shaped stitches in seemingly random locations. His fingers run along the table in the middle of the room as he walks around. Pulling out a chair, he silently sits down, and looks around at the three lofts, knowing the people who lie within them. Casually putting his feet up, he lies back in the chair, taking a deep breath in, and letting it out. Cocking his head, his eyes look down. Nodding, his voice rings out inside your room;

"Alright boys and girl. Get up. We've got a lot to accomplish today. You three might have a chance at actually joining the guild. Might. We shall see. You have fifteen minutes to meet me directly outside the front door of the dorm. That is when training will begin. Anyone late, and the whole team suffers. A team is not carried by one person. A team works together to accomplish a task which is given to them. Any supplies which you find within this room are your to bring to aid you in your training.

(OOC: This is pretty much everything from the "adventuring goods" section in the PHB.)

If you wish, you amy also talk to any of the other new recruits if you wish. Just don't be late."

From a very downgrading tone, the man changes completely. He smiles broadly as he walks towards the door. "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Volke. I'm your specialist. Before I go, any questions?"

Subject: As always, separate.

Baldorf follows the others, though with all the moving, and shifting of positions, he eventually finds himself on the outside looking in.

Ever since... no, even before that day, though not as much... Baldorf had been the outsider of the group. Always on the outside looking in. During his youth, he had never been a popular one, often was he rejected. It wore off a bit as he grew older, but then the day came when he was changed. He couldn't explain it more than that. Oh well. Once an outcast, always an outcast.

Arriving at the forest, Baldorf decided to split off from the group - not that they'd notice really - and go examine the outer layer of mushrooms. Something had to have done that to the little boy, Baldorf wouldn't believe that he and his friends did this by themselves. Any tracks or anything, maybe even a piece of cloth. Something was telling Baldorf that this was an intelligent attack, not just some mindless animal.

But I also see the entrance. What a strange place this is shaping up to be...

So, is there a path which leads through here? Cause that would seem to be the most reasonable thing to follow, wouldn't it?

Also, is there any background noise? Or noise in the distance?

The world is ruled by two simple principles: Life, and Death. These two principles never mix, and are never removed from the world. Everywhere which is traveled, there is life, and there is death. Few people truly study these phenomena, although there are some who brave the perils of learning these. There are those who breathe life into those who are so close to death, that they are able to see their patron deity greeting them with open arms.

And then there are those who give death to those so enveloped in life, they never see it coming.

-------------------------------------------------------------

"New recruits, here are your living quarters, I suggest you get to know each other; these will be your companions on various jobs that the guild may or may not place you on. And, as with all new recruits, here are the rules:

Rule one: Kill the people you are assigned, nobody else unless your life depends on it.

Rule two: Enjoy what you do. You never know when life will be taken from you.

Rule three: Don't attract attention.

Rule four: Listen to your superiors.

And that's about it. Now rest up, tomorrow's your first training session. We'll see just how tough you really are."

The speaker appears from the shadows, a small kobold, who seems to fade in and out of view. He creeps towards the door, then as he exits, he says, "Oh, and your leader's name is Volke. He will meet you in the morning, when you are ready for training. The room is yours."

Upon inspection, the room is elaborate, complete with climbing wall, trapdoors, locks and chains, and rope. This is clearly meant to supply you with everything which you need in order to practice with. Three lofts are also in this room, with ladders leading up to them. A table lies in the middle of the room, large enough for all of you to sit around. There is also a cooking pit, and a cold box, to cook and store food.

On that table is a small box, which says: Job Assignments. However, it lies empty now, as you are only new recruits. Perhaps when you prove yourself, it will fill with assignments for you to complete.

Our band of assassin's has been somewhat diminished, but it's still strong enough to take on a few jobs! I'm looking forward to this, and I hope that you are as well!

Any questions, comments, or miscellaneous remarks, feel free to post!

Also, Zoyc has yet to get back to me in the matter, and we may have one more player coming, but he has not replied to me yet. We will see...
