Topic: Diabolic Genesis-Origins of Evil Q&A
Subject: Okay, can we call a time out?

This is just my perspective, but if the issue has been resolved, then we know the following:

Tiamat should discuss specific details about stories with the players.

We, as players, need to clearly define what happens with our characters.

This is partly my fault. I have not yet finished my backstory. However, my half sister being brought into the game was an interesting twist, and was welcomed by me, even though I hadn't planned on it happening, only using her as a reference. But, it's cool with me.

Now, please, from my point, I realize the reason for this dispute. I get very attached to a lot of my characters, and sometimes things don't go as planned, and I get angry. But I have noticed that when I bring this up in public, it makes the other players uncomfortable.

So can we make it a ground rule, that if there is an issue with character, that you resolve it via PM? This is just my observation, and suggestion.

Okay, this is my take on it.

Your plan, and Chiron's plan are the same except for one thing.

________________________

Your plan (in my interpretation) consists of:

Get to the house.
Get in to the house.
Save the children.
Get out of the house.
Get back to the city.

___________________

Chiron's plan (again, in my interpretation) is as follows:

Get to the house.
Scout out what we're up against, but don't actually put ourselves at risk.
Come back to the city and supply to fit the need.
Go back to the house.
Get in to the house.
Save the children.
Get back to the city.

_______________________________

The way that I'm interpreting them, they're the same. Except for Chiron's plan consists of coming back before we save the children. Xavier's plan is also the same, only put very bluntly and out in the open. He's agreeing with you in the part that, if we can get in there, and get the children out with no problem, then let's do it. But if we start having too much trouble, he's voting to leave, re-equip and go back, better prepared to face the challenge.

Does this help in the interpretation?

Alexandria picks up her sword in her hand, her shield in the other as she nimbly gets off her horse. Her sword her divine focus, she glanced up at the sky, knowing that even though she could not see it, the moon was watching over her, giving her Eilistraee's strength. Closing her eyes, and whispering an incantation under her breath, she surveys the scene.

1) If the dragon charged towards any of her other companions, Alexandria calls upon the power of the moon, and shoot three Moon Bolts* out from her sword towards the mighty beast.

2) If the Dragon makes and advance towards Alexandria, she will pray for Eilistraee's full force, and absorb it into herself, casting Divine Power on herself, and preparing for the attack.

In the name of all that bears any relation to holiness... Perrin began, but could not finish. These things were so... ritualistic. Well practiced would also fit, but it would seem as though this was more than just practice; it was habit. This had to have happened so many times in order for it to be that smooth... it almost reminded him of the monks in his monastery that moved with such precision that was built of habit of a daily routine.

"What do you think those were?" Perrin asks the others in a hushed voice. "I don't think I've seen anything like them. Fearsome creatures, to be sure. I can see why the town is terrified."

Xavier lets go of the rafters with his legs, and does a backflip to land on his feet. "Great! Now that we've got it settled, that we're going, then I say that it's wonderful. Now, everyone seems to be ready, so let's get out of here, get to this house, save the brats, and get back. I think that's a good enough plan, don't you?"

Xavier bends over and begins patting his legs up to his torso, and out each arm. With each pat comes a faint metallic clicking sound. Patting his shoulders, Xavier gives a nod, "I'm ready. Let's move out." And with that, he begins walking towards the exit, towards the city gates, and towards the forest, where this ghost house is said to lie.

Before leaving however, Xavier calls back. "Oh! And governor? Times ticking now. Remember our deal."

The Road on the Way to Badon

"Right away mistress Selunine! Of course mistress Trillion!"

The coachman hurriedly jumped up and vaulted onto the carriage. As Selunine enters and Trillion mounts her own horse, the coachman whips the horses, and they begin to slowly walk. However, with another whip, they begin to gallop, full speed heading toward the fire that is Badon. The smell of smoke is now in the air, even though you are still rather far away.

Arriving at the city, you notice hordes of skeletons all intently focused on seemingly one thing. There must be hundreds of skeletons, all facing one central item of attention.

The horses violently jump up as you near, but the coachman keeps them in check so that they don't bolt. "Look, I'm sorry, but this is as far as I'm gonna be able to take you! The horses won't go any further. And I'm not going any further either, so get out now, and be on your way. Thank you."

(OoC: Assuming you do as he says)

The walls of Badon are shattered. Gaping holes line the stone walls, and the houses on the inside are either smoldering, or burning. Small bits of skin litter the ground outside what used to be the gate. Inside, you can see a man standing on a pillar, surrounded by skeletons. Perhaps that's what they are focused on. But for some reason which you can't see, they haven't gotten to him yet. Maybe you're just in time to try and save him. Or maybe he has no chance left, and you're here to witness his death.

The Center of Badon

Achilles stood on the top of the pillar, and began reaching for his bag of tricks. He had gotten lucky with it before, so why not now? But as he reached for it, he noticed that the two young women were actually pushing the skeletons back. Not by force, but by some odd magical power or something.

Also, looking in the other direction, the bones flying seem to be getting closer, and you see a greataxe poke its head out a few times, appearing just above the massive hoard, sending bones flying with it. A thigh bone comes out and hits you in the forehead, not really hurting, but still giving you some shock.

Shaking your head and looking down, the two young women are now directly below you. You recognize them as the women who you met in the forest, the ones who guided you out. The paler one has a Katana drawn, held masterfully in her hand, ready to lash out at anything that may approach. However, for some reason, the skeletons are standing back.

Almost simultaneously, the greataxe cleaves through, and a burly man steps forward, wearing fine armour that seems to glow with a faint light, greataxe in his two hands. It would seem as though he made it through the crowd, and is the only survivor of the Badon assault. He turns to the woman wielding the Katana and smiles.

"Well look here! Mora! Good t' see you again. I'm glad you weren't affected by this... this... whatever! Now let's get out of 'ere, so you you can introduce me to your new friends, eh?"

The Center of Badon

Morasennarion and Ninian carefully waded through the battle, heads always looking all around them. The skeletons however, seemed to not want to get close to them at all. It was slow going, but eventually, the two women wound up at the base of the pillar where the man was.

The man, suddenly being smacked by a thigh bone, drops down into your midst, grateful for a bit of reprieve from having to protect himself.

Almost simultaneously, the greataxe cleaves through, and a burly man steps forward, wearing fine armour that seems to glow with a faint light, greataxe in his two hands. You recognize it as Hector, the barkeep, and your good friend. It would seem that somehow, he survived this apocalypse from the sky, and was not turned.

"Well look here! Mora! Good t' see you again. I'm glad you weren't affected by this... this... whatever! Now let's get out of 'ere, so you you can introduce me to your new friends, eh?"

Leaving the City of Eva

Kandar patiently waits on top of his Steelwing, waiting for the man to emerge and travel with him. He did not have to wait long however, as the man soon emerged in shining full platemail bearing a strange symbol which you haven't seen. Strapped along his back is a ten foot rod with what seems to be a loop on the end of it. But at his side is a Warhammer that looks like it could whack something rather forcefully.

"Alright Assimar, I'm ready if you are. Alimar is out that way." He indicates with his right arm the direction of the sun. "And it's fairly far. I hope that oversized bird of yours can fly, if you want to get there fast enough. But, as usual, trust is key. Let's ride."

He walks over and sits down on the back of the Steelwing. With that, you take off, with your Steelwing flying at all possible speed. However, the sun goes down, and you deem it unwise to try and fly in the dark.

The next morning, you take off again at full speed. About midday, the Tiefling speaks. "I'm Vanian. You?"

And that seems to be all that he is in the mood to say.

Near sunset, you see towers rising, and soon a city is in your view. Towers reaching almost as high as your are flying, Vanian says "This is it. The city. Now, what are we looking for exactly?"

You pull down and land your Steelwing outside the gates. The guards look at you skeptically, and cross their spears in front of the doors.

"Who are you, and what is your business in Alimar?" One of them asks.

D'Artigo looked around their current surroundings. It would seems as though nobody wished to speak, and yet everybody had something on their mind. Well, he wasn't just going to blindly walk. He had better things to do. Instead, he climbed up the nearest tree and perched on a branch.

"So. Anyone have any idea what we could be doing here? At all? I'm game for anything, but nobody's putting ideas forward."

Xaviers was perfectly content with listening to the banter going on. While the other three debate heavily on what they should do, Xavier half listens, half looks around the armoury.

(OoC: This is all assuming possibility, and I really hope it works. It's nothing major, and totally possible, so I see no reason why not.)

Finding a somewhat rough part of the wall that leads up toward the rafters, Xavier casually strolls over while still listening to the discussion going on. Reaching out, he pulls himself up the wall, until he gets to the cross beams along the roof, where he decides to cling with his legs, and let his hair hang down, along with the rest of them.

Hanging from the rafters, Xavier slowly swings back and forth, enjoying the movement. When the other three have seemed to stop talking, Xavier takes the chance to speak.

"Okay. Here's my opinion. We're here. That house is there. We are supposed to go there. The point is Lacey, and take this in no offense whatsoever, we don't know what we're getting into. However, towards Chiron and Suumiel, we don't have time to do everything we want. Or at least, that's what it seems like. So. What can we do? Nothing. All we can do, is go out there, try our best, and run the **** away if stuff gets too hard. Then, we'll know what we're up against, be able to better equip ourselves, and go back there, kick some *** and get paid."

Xavier stops abruptly, but keeps swinging back and forth.

"You know, you guys look prettier when I'm upside down. I don't know why. Just call it a perception change."

"Alright JC. Sounds good."

Accepting the new suit of armour, Xavier once again strips off his shirt, and puts the suit of armour on. It was definitely a deeper shade than the other armour he had. It would do just the trick.

"I'll be keeping my other armour, if it's not too much trouble."

Looking over to Suumiel, Lacey and Chiron, Xavier asks, "Well? You guys ready?"

Xavier wanders the armoury, looking under, over, and beside everything that he could find. However, he couldn't find what he sought - some new shuriken for himself. Why they seemed in such low demand everywhere else seemed so bizarre to him. Nobody really enjoyed them, but they were so practical.

While he looked, he couldn't help but wonder about his sister. Perhaps the governor was simply lying to him. Maybe he really had no idea, and was now going to be frantically searching for her to give his story a bit of credibility. But still, what if..? Hmm... this was going to be most concerning.

Shaking himself out of his thoughts, he noticed an odd person standing over near what appeared to be a forge. That was probably the best thing he could get here.

Walking over to the man, who seemed like he was the forger, Xavier says. "Hey buddy. Good job on all these weapons. Kinda. But, that's beside the point. I need you to make this better." He says, as he takes of his shirt, then pulling his armour off underneath it. His body is a sickly pale colour, even paler than his face. Putting his shirt back on, he places the mithral shirt down in front of the smith. "I've heard of an enchantment that makes the wearer more difficult to see, because his armour blends into the shadow. I want that. I assume you can do it, yes?"

What???? That's terrible. I thought the whole outlook of Eilistraee was reaching out to those who were at the point of being beyond saving, and trying to save them. And I mean, I haven't done anything to bad yet, have I? I'm just exbuerant...

Oh, and Tiamat, I know you mentioned something about this in a PM, but I don't get spell levels and such. What is the max gold cap of an item we can take from the armory? And if we take projectiles, how many can we take?

Of course the monastery has knowledge as old as everything in this world. But... Books are very objective, and don't have a sense of right and wrong... This man on the other hand...

"Sir, I know very well that my monastery, at least if that's what you're talking about, holds much knowledge from the beginning of time. However, books are not the best at giving out information, as they carry the point of view of the person who wrote said books. So, I'm seeking a very real person as a source to search for my information. I ask you simple questions so that your knowledge may be added to the vast library of my home."

Perrin held his gaze with the man. What an interesting person.

"Dark sister is not a term I've been accustomed to being called." Alexandria noted the woman's reaction. Not an uncommon one, but still something that was offensive. It would change however. At least, she hoped that prejudice against drow would dissipate.

"Brianna is an excellent cook. She will treat you well."

As Flame rocketed in to camp, Alexandria smiled, but only briefly. Hearing his plight, Alexandria immediately walked to her sword, kicking it up with her foot to save the time of bending down.

Swinging up onto her horse, she swiftly followed Brianna. "Hello Flame. It's good to see you again, even in these trying times. Ride with me, would you? I will help you gain that which you've lost."
