Siliwen prepares to cast Magic Missles. Her targets were any foe that teamed up with another to attack one of her friends.

She spots one of the riders whirling it’s horse to turn and charge at Alea, he seemed the best possible target so she let go with a dart of light from her fingertips. The dart struck the man in the side staggering him in his saddle but he retained his seat and continued to turn towards Alea but he seemed to be having trouble orienting on her.

Almost laughing Billy called back, "No my friend, we shall not fall this day. Perhaps you didn't notice your ranks have been thinned already and it was only a lucky block that kept you from joining your now dead companions. Why even if we gave you the girl she would probably prove too much for the likes of you and kill you in your sleep."

Once more Billy maneuvered his mount in an attempt to avoid receiving any major blows while looking for an opening of his own. Seeing that his last blow staggered his opponent a bit he focused his efforts on catching the leader off balance if possible in an attempt to unhorse him.

The Leader snarled at Billy and came at him again, Billy swung his great sword but his aim was a little too high allowing the Leader to duck a swing that would have taken his head off. The leader struck under Billy’s swing scoring a deep wound on Billy’s side as the leader’s horse carried him past him again. (Moderate Damage - Billy is starting to feel the injuries)

Alea blessses the day she bought her war horse for how the stallion proved his training. A shift of weight and turn of body and the stallion moved to where she wanted ans she reset her spear to go after the rider that had escaped her when his companion had fallen.

Alea’s war horse charged after her target, responding with such great speed that it felt as if he would leap out from under her. The charge was so fast that she caught up to the man in mid turn just after he was struck by a ’dart of light’ which staggered him. Her spear caught him in the side under his arm and she could feel the blade bite into him where his armor was weakest. The blow knocked the man from his horse and she could tell as he fell off of her spear that he was dead before he hit the ground.

As soon as Riddle landed he took quick initiative one of his scims had flown out of his hands in the fall but he still held his other he quickly drew his dagger and finished off this opponent with a slice to the throat. not missing a beat he grabbed at his lost scimitar and rushed to set himself in a defensible position in front of siliwen, as he did this he wondered what had happened to her spell.

The stunned man, still laying on the ground, took a wide swing at Riddle as he moved in for the kill, but Riddle easily dodged it and opened up the man’s throat before slipping away. The man dropped his weapon and grasped both hands to his gapping throat in a vain attempt to stop his inevitable death.

So with his war ax back in his right hand and the reins in his left he guides his horse back towards the second rider who had come after him. Then in what he hoped would be a surprise attack as the two riders approach when Thor is close enough to the others horse, but the two are not close enough to swing at each other Thor pulls a low blow and instead of waiting to attack the rider he takes his war ax and takes a mighty swing at the riders horses head and neck in an attempt to take him down by bringing down his horse.

Thor swung mightily as the rider charged him and his ax blade sunk deeply into the neck of the man’s horse. With a great scream the mount went down taking his rider with him. Somehow the man’s sword which was already swinging for the dwarf managed to catch Thor in the right shoulder causing a minor wound which was more inconvenient than deadly. The attacker fell to the ground in a heap still tangled in his horse’s stirrups to lie trapped as the trashing horse bleed out it’s life upon the ground.

As Thor whirls to see the man and his horse go down he felt a hard strike hit him in the back and the sudden unexpected blow knocked him off of his mount and sent him to the ground. Rolling over and somehow retaining his grip on his axe he saw that he was attacked from behind by one of the men who originally had gone after Billy, who was now in solo combat with the apparent leader of these men.

Riddle moves to get to a position where he can protect Siliwen when he spots one of the riders who had passed him when he leaped off his mount, headed his way. The rider swings his spiked flail and catches Riddle squarely in the side knocking the Ranger down with the force of the blow and the speed of his charging horse.

Siliwen smiles watching Alea take out the man she had hit with her magic missile. Apparently her shot had injured and distracted the man long enough for her friend to land a deadly blow. She is surprised when an arrow speeds by her head causing her to blink in surprise. Looking up she spots the last two riders (there were a dozen in all) who had stopped near the edge of the battle and aiming short bows into the crowd. The one aiming at her notched another arrow and let loose so quickly that she didn’t have time to react. This arrow was dead on and struck her in the lower left side just above the saddle. The wound was a deep one and she barely managed to maintain her seat

The other archer held an arrow notched trying to spot a convenient target and finally decided on the largest of the group, Billy. The arrow struck a glancing blow off of Billy’s armor, causing a ringing in Billy’s ears but no other damage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summary:
Billy mounted engaged with Leader, one archer attacker - (Moderate wounds)
Thor on ground with one mounted attacker and one slightly stunned attacker on ground nearby (Light wounds)
Alea mounted no attackers
Siliwen mounted, one archer attacker (Moderate wound)
Riddle on ground, one mounted attacker.
Other Riders (non attackers) status: Two dead, three stunned and wounded, one dying with axe in back
"That's a negative, Sgt. Lee." Inga responded to the question. "That blue glow sure looks like what we went through outside to get to this place.
Lee only shrugged to the medic’s comment, it did indeed look like the same blue glow as outside and they might be related but this was one he didn’t want to test like the one outside. He just had an eerie feeling when he looked at this machine, something made his skin crawl and it took a lot to do that with just it’s appearance.
Lt its Kane we have reached the Main Lab and its status is as follows”
A brief overview to the Lt given he awaited the Lt’s next command.....
Sgt Lee kept alert for any trouble, splitting his scanning from the entrances to the blue glowing contraption in the room. This whole mission seemed like a bad science fiction show like he use to watch as a kid, he smiled slightly remembering watching old reruns of MST 3000 and how they made the totally bad sci-fi films worth watching.
"Looks like they tied to take that thing out but without any success." Inga adds.
“Either that,” Lee says, “or they were trying to kill what came out of there.”
Activating the radio, Kernan addressed the whole of the team. "Kane: without touchin' anything, see if you leathernecks can't find the power source for that equipment. Blake thinks it might be a field generator."
Hearing the order come over the general comm, Lee stayed where he had set up guard and scanned the unit with his vision, looking for cables running to it or any sign of a power source within the blue field. He doubts they will find anything external as if that was the case and this thing was the cause of the problem then the people stationed here would probably have tried to unplug the thing right off the bat.
(Back posting to Lt Cmdr Kato and Lt Mas’Riat)
"I'm Lt. Cmdr Kato 3," he stated. "Nice to meet you."
"I was assigned here as part of the officer exchange program with Eminiar 7. Most of my experience is with the Eminian Spacefleet, but I'm quickly adapting to Starfleet."
"If you're wondering about my name, the number indicates which child of the generation I am. You may simply call me Kato. And yes, we Eminians are virtually human in physical appearance, only our internal arrangement is different."
"In any case, it's nice to meet you, Lt. Cmdr...?"
As the Eminian spoke the Lyran looked over this new officer and his yellow cat eyes took in everything. When the man was done speaking, something he appeared to like to do, Talon growled slightly and leaned forward looking even more closely at the man giving the impression of a cat examining a fish in a bowl.
“Lt Cmdr Talon,” he said in response to the Eminian’s question, “Chief Security and Tactical Officer… I am sure we will become well acquainted soon.” His tone was slightly amused and he sat back again and went back to looking at his PADD until it was his turn to give his report.
During his presentation he looked up as the door opened and his eyes narrowed and he paused for a second as Lt. Mas’Riat came in late. He smirked slightly and then turned back to his briefing for the Captain. He didn’t say anything about her arrival, he wouldn’t need to as if the Captain was upset at her he would no doubt speak his mind.
(OOC: Sorry, it seemed that your post indicated you came in after Talon began so therefore the little blurb about her lateness. If this is incorrect please let me know and I will edit my post.)
Talon listened intently to the New CSO give his briefing and he was impressed at how the man seemed eager to do a good job even to the point of preparing a report while enroute to join his new command. He nodded his approval slightly as the man finished his report.
“Lt. Mas’Riat here,” Talon spoke up gesturing to the woman, “as you can see by her report, has been working on potential paths into Dominion space so I think it would be good for you two to work together on this and share information.” He sat back and waited on the Captain to either ask questions, give further assignments or orders.
(OOC: Welcome aboard Cap'n Lou.. I like your choice of race for your character... lets just hope we dont have to have Kato 3 report to a 'disintegration chamber" before this mission is over. )
Cap’n
I have a problem here.. I don’t think I can continue with a post from Si-Di at this point without knowing what ‘Rok” saw in the cantina…. If I go on without that input then the reactions and such would be far different later if I had to backpost… therefore… Should I assume he mentions about their behavior and what he saw.. or.. do we want to wait till Grugg returns to post whether or not he does tell her… If he isn’t back till Friday then I will be gone for the entire weekend on Vacation and will not be able to post until I return on Monday…
I don’t want to slow up this adventure since it is getting interesting an has gotten off to a great start.. but I think Si-Di needs to know what Rok tells her before it goes any farther…
Let me know how you think should proceed or maybe you see a way around this that I don’t.
TRSG
Well my character at this point knows nothing about the incident you two had in the alleyway .. but once she hears of it I am sure she will come to suspect something here and will indeed have some questions for Cern Namor at dinnertime. We will have to wait and see what happens.
"I'm sorry, Sir. I just... Never mind. Good night, Sir."
“Get some sleep LT” he snapped and then ended the transmission before she could say anything else.
Shaking his head he hoped this first day dealing with the Bajoran Lt wasn’t going to be a sign of things to come. Any other time he wouldn’t have objected to assisting her in some scenarios about their course and/or tactical procedures but he was tired and he didn’t want his fatigue to be an excuse for errors. It was best to be sharp and alert when dealing with choices that would potentially deal with the Charon’s survival.
After doing a final check of the security board and seeing all was green, he draped his equipment belt, holding his blaster, over the end of the bed and then turned in for the night.
(OOC: A minor correction there LT… your quarters are on Deck 2.. hope you don’t get lost on the way to the briefing. )
USS Charon – Captain’s Ready Room – 0955 hours
Lt. Cmdr Talon made his way to the Captain’s Ready Room, his yellow catlike eyes scanning his personal PADD going over the details of his report for the Captain. He had arisen a couple of hours ago and forgoing any breakfast he called up the latest Intel on his computer. He had not been happy to see that there had been nothing new since last night. But then if there had been anything he would have had to send it to Lt Mas’Riat so she could update her report and while that late information may have ticked her off and delighted him somewhat anything new at this late hour would have been unexpected.
Arriving at the Captain’s Ready Room he buzzed the door comm and announced himself, once permission had been given he would enter and salute.
“Good Morning Captain!” He addressed his superior with a tone of respect. He immediately went to his usual oversized chair and sat down. He noted the time on his PADD display and the fact that Lt Mas’Riat was not yet present and he stifled a grin and only continued to organize his report for the Captain.
(Room for interaction with Captain or others)
When he was called to report he tapped his PADD to transfer his report to the main briefing screen and turned his chair slightly and began to speak of his findings.
“First off Captain,” Talon started, “we received very little further intel on the Dominion movements but what I did get I forwarded to Lt. Mas’Riat to help in her evaluation of potential routes into the system. I also sent her my recommendations on the matter but I left the main planning of this area to her and her ‘unique’ expertise.” The last held a hint of sarcasm about why she was assigned to this ship and this mission.
“Ships’ security is tighter than ever,” he said moving on to the next subject, “ and all Tactical system repairs have been completed. The Type X Phaser arrays are fully operational, both Mark XXV Photon Torpedo launchers are operational and the torpedo bays are filled with 45 torpedos, and Deflector shields are operational and running at 99.99% efficiency. I am working on getting that up to 100% before the end of the day.”
“As for the Romulans,” he set his PADD down and ended the data that had been streaming to the main display, “they will be under constant surveillance by either me or one of my men. They will be allowed only in areas they need access to do their job and each one of those will have to be cleared by either you or me. They will not be allowed anything resembling a weapon, and they will be subjected to a full body scan and I would like them to receive a full physical and medical scan as well to make sure they are carrying no concealed weapons or viruses. They only place they will be allowed even the smallest amount of private will be the quarters where they will be housed and then a guard will be stationed outside the door at all times.”
Talon paused to look at the Captain, his countenance showing no hint of humor now as he concluded, “If I had it my way, I would rather beam them out into open space where they would do the most good.”
He feel silent awaiting any further questions by the Captain or any other staff present.
"Lemme go," he says to the Jedi. He looks back and forth between her and her companion. "Listen...if you let me go, I'll make it worth your while. In credits, see? I didn't do anything anyway, this is all just a big misunderstanding. So just let me go before any Guild security shows up, and I'll make you both richer for it."
As the Arcona stirred, Si-Di turned her attention to him and kept him covered with the blaster now set on stun and stayed just out of reach of his hands or feet. She raised an eyebrow seeing the color of his eyes; a salt addict, which was not unusual in his race especially ones who were on the wrong side of the law.
“If you didn’t do anything,” She asks in a calm even tone, “then why did you and your companion run when you saw us and even fired your weapon?”
Hearing him pleading to let him go and his feeble attempts at bribery she only shook her head giving him a sad look which appeared as if she would if she could.
“I’m sorry… I cant do that!” Si-Di’s voice was soft at first but when she continued it hardened just a bit, “You see I believe you might have had something to do with the explosion outside and if you did I need to know who ordered you to attack that ship and why? Tell me that and maybe we can talk a deal.”
She says all this not yet knowing what Rok may have seen prior to their arrival in the cantina. She still hopes to hear if he might have anything interesting to relate regarding the actions of the Arcona. His statement could set the man free or accuse him, but for now she had to wait for him to speak.
(OOC: She is still on guard for any other attacks, and if the Union Security comes in her actions would be similar to those already stated in the Q&A thread. For now this man is in her custody until she decides otherwise.)
I would love to post.. but I was waiting for Lysander's reply so Si-Di would have some information about what he saw regarding the Arcona's strange behaviour in the Cantina.
However, I just read Grugg's message 'Short Leave' about him being gone until next Friday. So I am not at a loss on how to proceed since I think she needs to have that knowledge before questioning the Arcona.
Oh.. just so you know.. if the Union Security guys come into the cantina and point a weapon at the Arcona she has in her custody.. she will automatically put herself in the way and use her lightsaber to deflect any bolts they might throw his way... I think it suspicious that they killed the guys so quickly.. keeping them silent perhaps.. hint hint guys!
So GM.. how do you think I should proceed now without Lysander's post? Any suggestions?
Drydoc, The Eye of the Dragon
Shader's Nest
Febre, Mid day
“Excellent. I will have Silvarimon explain everything once you leave. I will look into this business about the stolen statuette for you, and considering how well you work for me, I may just reward you in kind.”
Tanglefoot smiled brightly at the mention of potential reward and started to reply when she came around from behind her desk and knelt down in front of him. This was odd he thought; the guild mistress putting herself on the same level as a subordinate, very odd indeed and unexpected.
“I hope you do well. Oh, and my name is Symilia. Don’t make me a nickname… or I will have you killed.” She smiled as she finished with her harsh words.
Tanglefoot managed to keep his smile on his face by sheer willpower, for he did recognize that she wasn’t kidding about killing him. He would expect no less from the head of the thieves’ guild and though she was a woman he knew better than to underestimate her fierceness.
“I will do my best, Guildmistress!” He replied and gave her a little bow.
Seeing he was dismissed he turned and seeing the large orc woman again who was going to escort him out of the room he smiled at her again in a sincere fashion, “Well, well.. this guild is teeming with loveliness around every turn,” as he followed her out of the room. His tone was not mocking but lighthearted and sounded very sincere even though the object of his words was far from the vision to which he was alluding.
. “ Well… I assume you’ve agreed to the job, else wise Bombas would have carried you out, rather than merely escort.” Silvarimon pointed towards the orc thumper.
Tanglefoot nodded and smiled at him knowingly, “I assumed that would be the case it is sort of the nature of the business is it not?”
He followed the elf through the maze and kept his hands on his things making sure no one decided to ‘relieve’ him of any more of his valuables. As he walked through the building he scanned the area taking in the scope of the operation. The Halfling whistled silently to himself at all the things he saw; it was quite a set up and probably quite profitable considering the size of Drydoc.
“This, is what you’ll need to complete your mission. One of our agents went insane a little while ago, and started attacking the market places at night. He was reportedly quite ravenous, and even bit some of the merchants. It turns out that they in turn became infected with lycanthropy. We had them dealt with, but he escaped into the sewers, and is quite proficient at evading us. You’ll need to the dagger to kill him, it’s coated with alchemical silver. The map is so you can count corners, however we don’t know his exact location.”
Tanglefoot looked over the map of the sewers under Drydoc and listened as Silvarimon laid out a daunting task for him. He turned to look at the elf when he was finished speaking a look of disbelief upon his face.
“You want me to go up against a lycanthrope?” he asked incredulously.
(Room for reply)
He reached out and took the dagger and checked it over, especially the blade checking to see if it was indeed silver. He slowly shook his head at the magnitude of this quest. He had heard of lycanthrope, or werewolves as some called them. They were fierce and tough and hard to kill and he was only a little Halfling. Still shaking his head he took the dagger and stuck it in his belt as he rolled up the map.
“What choice do I have?” he asked mostly of himself as he consigned himself to the mission. He had never really been afraid of anything, but he was cautious and he would have to be very careful here if he was to survive.
“I guess I best be going,” he said to the elf, “No time like the present. Do you have any thing else for me? A crossbow with Silver bolts perhaps?” he chuckled yet his voice held a hopeful tone.
(I will be doing initiative a little different from now on; I will roll each encounter separately for the attackers and the party, that way I can post each encounter separately. I think it will work out better for everyone, maybe.. we will see. This will require each person to post their intended action and attacks and then I will resolve each one below. That way there will be no knowledge of who goes before whom in order, which can be interesting sometimes. So next round post your intentions and I will take care of the order of attacks.)
As soon as the two attackers thunder past him Thor swings Lighting around so he is facing the two riders backs that just passed him then he quickly switches his war ax to his left hand and picking out the rider who is still closest to him and hopefully riding mainly straight away he pulls and hurls his throwing ax at the riders back and the horses rear hoping to either strike the rider true in the back or at least damage his horse with an ax in the rear.
After hurling his throwing ax Thor prepares himself for a tough fight from the saddle of his horse. Making sure his feet where snug in their respective stir-ups and he had a good grip with his legs and knees he places the end of his bit and bridal rope between his teeth and then pulls his morning star so now with his war ax in his right hand and the morning star in his left he takes to charging after the two who had attacked him.
(OOC: I see no problem with Thor carrying his axe while riding)
Thor’s axe speeds through the air and catches the one rider squarely in the center of his back, knocking the rider from his saddle to crash to the dirt. The other rider whirls his horse around, sees his comrade down on the ground withering with a throwing axe buried deep between his shoulder blades, curses and then charges back towards Thor as the dwarf charges towards him.
(OOC: No post from Riddle, so standard action for him)
Riddle drew both scimitars as the riders charged; he snarled like a wild animal as the sword of one of the attackers slices across the upper thigh of his left leg as he passes. Whirling his horse behind the attacker who was pulling up even as he passed him, Riddle stood up in his saddle and then quickly leaped off of his stationary mount and crashed into the man taking him out of the saddle and to the ground. Riddle rolls off of his stunned opponent who acted as a cushion to his fall and came up with his swords ready to strike at the opponent still lying on the ground.
The group feels a warm sensation pass through them as the ‘Blessings’ of Corellon envelop them. Alea draws out her spear as the two attackers speed past her out of reach; she set the spear against the stirrup of her horse and managed to catch one of the charging riders in the side. The impact almost ripped the spear from her hands as it unhorsed the attacker and sent him to the ground. Her other attacker sped past and was even now slowing his horse to turn it to take another run at her.
Billy found himself attacked by two of the riders; one of whom was the leader. Taken by surprise, Billy reacted a bit slow and a thin ribbon of blood appeared on his arm and leg. Ignoring the underling for the moment, Billy attacked the leader. As he did he called out, "I have no quarrel with you and do not wish to see you die this day. However if you do not call off your attack you will all surely die."
The Leader whirled his horse close to Billy as the second rider passed by on Billy’s other side, Billy turned his horse and his attention to the Leader and struck out with his large sword. The blade rang off of the man’s shield but still the strength of the blow seemed to stagger the man slightly. The Leader seemed to be the largest of the attackers, maybe they decided their leaders in the simple fashion of the strongest.
“You wrong, Lowlander,” The Leader said making his term for Billy sound like a curse, “you ones master seeks! Give us girl and the rest of you may live.”
Siliwen had a spell ready but the swift intervention of their dark companion made her withhold her color spray. The two attackers aimed at her went down hard as the legs of their horses were snapped like dry kindling; the cries of injured horses filled the air around her.
The two attackers lay stunned on the ground where they had hit hard, they moved though only barely as they struggled to retain consciousness. She looked about for other targets for her spell, but everyone seemed engaged at the moment and with friend and foe now locked in battles, whirling their mounts this way and that, she didn’t think it wise to throw an area effect spell that might do more harm than good.
Their Dark Friend only stood there where he had met the charge of the horses, once again as immobile and impassive as before.
(OOC: Ok.. like I said above.. it is 'blind' initiative now… post as you will and I will roll the order of attacks as I resolve them. Next Update Next Thursday .)
"Friends call me Rok…. Now if we could just get to the part where I get rewarded it would be just fine."
Si-Di graced him with an amused smile and a slight disbelieving shake of her head at the human giving her the expected reply. She didn’t question his name having no reason to doubt his word since he had helped them to subdue the Arcona. Hefting the Arcona’s blaster she set it to stun then knelt down by the unconscious man’s side she checked on him to make sure he was still out. She was ready to stun him again if she saw the slightest hint of movement.
If the man was still out cold, she would remove his belt, harness, or something else suitable to bind his arms behind his back.
“We must see if this man is indeed responsible for the attack,” Si-Di said to ‘Rok’ as she finished binding the prisoner. She quickly searched the man for anything that might appear useful on his person; comlink, datapad, etc.
“Did you notice anything unusual about this one and his companion?” She asked him as she returned to her feet taking a step back and covering the man with the blaster. She kept an eye on the people lingering in the cantina, wondering if anyone, the bartender or owner, were calling for authorities. It was unusual that even after the explosion there was no sign of guard troops or other authoritative figures.
Si-Di also wondered how Ninkanna and Kavtan were fairing in their pursuit with the other Arcona.
After leaving Lt Mas’Riat to her quarters to finalize her plans for the briefing tomorrow morning, Lt. Cmdr Talon had returned to his office/quarters to check the status of his officer’s reports on their assignments. There wasn’t much new intel on the Dominion movements beyond the wormhole, but what he did have he sent to Mas’Riat’s computer so she could have the latest intelligence.
After that he reviewed the reports on the repairs of ships tactical systems: the Type X Phaser arrays were operational once again, both Mark XXV Photon Torpedo launchers were operational and torpedo bays were filled with 45 torpedos, the subspace graviton field (Deflector) shield generators were operational and running at 99.99% efficiency.
The Lyran nodded his head and added this information to his brief for the morning meeting. He then sent a ‘well done’ message to his officers letting them know he was pleased. He had learned that the humans responded positively to praise even when they were only doing their job. He didn’t understand the need for this positive reinforcement but he had seen it work so he did it only to keep his men happy and feeling useful.
Finishing his report and transferring it to his Personal PADD, he stood and decided to take a sonic shower before retiring for the night. Stripping out of his uniform and tossing the dirty one in the cleaning chute, he took a quick shower and then had just slipped into some undergarments when his commbadge beeped.
. "Lt. Cmdr Talon, if you are not busy, I have an experiment I'd like your help with."
He growled slightly, having thought he was done with that woman for the night. Tapping his badge to open a direct channel he replied:
“Do you know what time it is, Lt?” he growled at her showing his displeasure at the interruption.
Seeing Ninkanna and Kavtan chasing after the fleeing Arcona, Si-Di pulls up shortly after starting her chase. Being tall and not very strong, Si-Di was never really a good runner and her analytical mind quickly assessed her chances at catching the running Arcona as being much slimmer than Ninkanna or Kavtan. She extinguished her shoto and returned it to her belt before whirling around and heading back into the cantina.
“Everyone remain calm please,” she said aloud coming in the doorway, her tone reassuring and even, “we have everything under control.”
She walked over to the stunned Arcona and quickly picked up the blaster he had been carrying when stunned. She turned to the human male who had stunned the Arcona and bowed her head slightly.
“I want to thank you citizen,” she said with a small smile, “you may have captured one of the saboteurs who just bombed the transit ship and killed a Jedi Master. I am Si-Di and if I may have the pleasure of your name so that I may include it in my report to the authorities?”
She looked this human over and assessed his manner of dress and coming to a logical conclusion she added, “If this man is involved in the killings, I am sure the government will reward you appropriately.” Her smile broadened as she judged this man to be like most human citizens of this type, always asking what was in it for them.
Very possible.
That is 6.667m/sec; or 14.9 mph, or 24 kph
The Olympic record for the 100m dash is 10.2 m/sec or 22.8 mph.
Of course this is assuming a high general physical condition.
YAY! Glad for the progress! ~goes to read post~
Subject: Vatta's Dilemma...
One minute Vatta had been watching as the sun approached the horizon, the next her keen hearing detected the approach of footsteps behind her. She did not turn but her ears listened and her mind accessed; the length of the stride, the heaviness of the step, even the rhythm of the gait. She smiled slightly as she recognized the Priest of Oghma’s steps behind her and her left hand slipped the dagger back into it’s hidden sheath, unseen by the person behind her.
“Do you find the sunset more appealing than that of it’s rise?” Cerric Khalidran said placing a comforting hand upon her shoulder.
“I do,” Vatta replied, “the night holds so much solace for one like me.” She didn’t elaborate upon what she meant by that simple statement. “The sunset and the coming night is like a rest after a long day’s work… very soothing.”
She turned to watch him and listened intently to what he said and although she didn’t understand some of the more eloquent words he used she was able to discern his meaning and nodded.
“Interesting people, these adventurers be, eh? I, myself, do not find much intrigue in the slaying of monsters, defending values that are variables of unrealistic paragon. Civility is only as tried and true as the current power instated. Even the gods are interchangeable…
“Yes.. I seldom work with others,” she said softly and he could see her shrug her shoulder slightly in the dimming light, “and I have little use for the gods.” She turned to look once more as the sun was disappearing beyond the horizon.
“Gods have so much power,” she continued in a tone that almost sounded as if she was talking to herself and not to a Priest, “yet they allow so many bad things to happen in the world. All these people dying, men, women children even, and the gods do nothing to stop it. So I hope you will forgive me Priest if I do not hold much faith in these -gods-” Her last word holding a hint of disdain in her tone.
“The sunset was truly beautiful. I am blessed by beauty these days.” His periphery shifted from the darkening sky, back to the elven maid, though he would not turn his head to affront the contact of her eyes. “It is as fortuitous as the pages I have written within my book of arcane.”
Vatta made a faint snorting sound as she shook her head, “All I have seen lately is death and suffering,” she said a hint of anguish in her voice, “I have seen all to much of it in my lifetime.”
She turned to look at him and then sighed, “Forgive me, I find myself at a crossroads. I must decide whether my services here will be of use to help anyone or whether it would be best if I left the group and journeyed alone.”
“I found my -assistance- in the battle was not very helpful,” she said sounding embarrassed, “the group would fair better with more warriors and less -mercenary- types like me.” She finished with a faint smirk which held a hint of pain in her fine elvin features.
"I am nothing but a thief and a killer," she said her voice barely audible as her chin sank almost to her chest.
Well if she used deodorant she wouldnt stink so much!
Well the mission object should be available in the brief on her PADD and she should be able to query the computer for intel about reported Dominion activity.. though who knows how recent that would be.
The Captain, or GM (Eol) should be able to answer these questions.
