Yeah.. everything was treason in that game.

We always played that game about twice a year to kind of work out frustrations the players had regarding each other.

Nothing like getting even by blasting that commie red level mutant who just happened to be the same player who 'accidentally' destroyed your favorite vorpal weapon.

“First of all, we are here to troupe against megacorps. They are out causing mischief again. Causing problems for Spring-Heeled Jack and the rest of us. We have to catch them by surprise and destroy them. Our objective is to get in, destroy them if possible. They have something we need.” Peacekeeper stood up and said.

"To be more exact," Scribe then spoke up and added in a tired tone. "Someone Jack feels...is currently very well employed tried to burn him, and as a by-product: us. In the unveiling of this act we discovered our "get out of jail free" card. Problem is, it is tied up in this facility you're now privy to."

"How does this help us sting a corpse?" Lightning asked, again snapping out of his reverie to join the conversation.

"The magnitude of what's locked up in that research facility could cost a megacorp a lot of money if the R&D is lost," added Firewind quick to put his two cents into the conversation. Then it was back to Scribe.

"More than just that, the Joe that burned us will likely wind up a corpse if this leaks. I'm willing to bet he's locking down tight. Now, pleasantries aside, and as much as I hate to admit it, Peacekeeper is right. Time is wasting. What's the plan?"

At this point the big Nomad leaned forward and once again took control of the conversation.

“Ok like Firewind said what we are after MDK is Biotechnia R&D, to be even more exact then Scribe, it’s a serum/drug that acts like boosterware without the cyber implants. We get our hands on that data some of us, Lighting and you exempted, can bargain it for our lives, maybe bring a little grief and a heavy money hit to the corp. At the very least, like Scribe said, we can use it to bring down the Johnson who hired Jack to hire us.”

MDK nodded satisfied that he had heard the background of the story. He didn’t like going into a job and not really knowing what to do.

“Fair enough,” He said, “Don’t mean to pry into your business, I just like to know what we are after so I don’t accidentally blast it or them.” he added a small grin.

"Third, MDK you suggested a ground recon of the facility, ok we go with that also, only problem with that is who goes with ya as none of us are stealth trained. If Spiff can get me a snipe I can do over cover but that’s pretty much it. Bulls Eye has offered to be the wheelman but he too ain’t quiet it may just be better you go in on your own. If Spiff or Jack can get us some ear com links we could send you in and stay linked that way as I stand by as over cover and Bulls Eye as wheelman.”

Mae nodded again, now this was a plan and something he could get onboard with. Going in to recon alone was always preferable to him; he didn’t have to worry about the other guy giving them away. If he screwed up then he could accept it; though he didn’t screw up so he felt he didn’t have anything to worry about this time.

“Not a problem going it alone,” MDK said in response to the plan, “Just have someone drop me off as close as we can get and I will do the rest. Make sure your com links have security scramblers and they are untraceable… I don’t want them pinpointing me from the signal.”

While he waited on the others replies to the plan, Mae looked over the topography of the map on his cellphone. The terrain wouldn’t be a problem, but he would have to be slow and careful to look out for security monitors.

“Nighttime would be best,” he said absentmindedly, not looking up from his phone as he ran potential routes to the buildings through his head.

I was thinking the other day about all the Good Old RPG games that were around before the RPG computer game days.

A couple I played and miss today are:

Paranoia
Gammaworld
Car Wars

When we werent playing D&D we would break it up by playing one of these which helped change up the pace by a quick switch in genre.

Anyone else play these?

Anyone else have some of their favorite?

You can post more than drawing your weapon and going to help Siliwen.. you have two attackers close to you and while you wer surprised by the sudden attack it only caused you to lose the initiative.. you can still draw your weapon and attack one or more riders who are already within range.

If you turn to ride over to Siliwen, who is apparantly guarded by your strange new companion, then the two attackers after you might get a nice attack against your back.

Of course the choice is yours.. just trying to clear things up for you.

"Dirty humansss kill our people for no reassson," the smaller slaa'k explains. "Did they not kill ssshining tower humansss?"

Varuna closes his eyes for a moment to try and block out the vison of the people in the tower that had been brutally slaughtered; opening his eyes he nodded to the slaa’kar.

“Yes,” he said his voice breaking a little, “they did kill them.”

The slaa'k glares at Varuna. "Ssshe who birthed all people hasss cassst thessse grakh assside! Why would ssshe care for thossse who kill her children?" The slaa'k flicks its tail to the side, and the other two do the same. "No. If we aid you, we kill them."

It eyes the party carefully. "Choossse now."

Varuna frowned and wrinkled his brow at the Slaa’kar’s statement and shook his head sadly.

”She who birthed all people cares for all her children,” He said a sadness in his voice, “who are we do decide what lives can be taken or not?” He said rhetorically then continuing to shake his head.

“It death is your only choice,” Varuna said softly, “then we much find another ally.” He bowed deeply to the Slaa’kar. “Thjank you for your time.. But we must accomplish this mission without your aid.”

“We must go,” He said turning to En’Aranthea, “we have wasted enough time here. We will have to come up with another plan.” He turned away from the Slaa’kar and began to walk back towards wher the rest of the party waited.

“I am Si-Di,” She says in a comforting and non-threatening tone, “I would like to ask you all some questions if I may regarding the explosion that took place just a little while ago which claimed the life of a Jedi Master.”

She is met with grumbles by some, total indifference by others. Some are too busy to bother, others are irritated at being told they're going to be questioned after just being knocked off their feet by an explosion.

The Sullustan bartender, who is nearby, sighs. "Probably not the best time, gal," he mutters, on his way to bring water to some of the injured. "You may have to wait awhile."

“It is never a good time for murder,” she responds to the bartender in a calm firm voice implying that she is not going to be swept aside by people’s indifference to the Jedi or by their discomfort at being detained for questioning. Master Allum had always told her… she paused in her moment of reflection.. ah poor Master Allum.. she missed him already.. and she had not forgotten to see to his body.. if any remained… she should have asked Master Arkana to see to it before finding their lodgings but it would have to wait. The ship was still hot and there would be time to see to the Master’s final resting after she found the ones who had set off the bomb that killed him.

Her eyes continued to scan the people in the room, she ignored those that were lying about with injuries, her deductive mind told her that the bombers .. if they were here.. would have been at a safe distance and this building did provide adequate cover and was within view of the landing pad so they could see when to set off their explosives.

"Banthas' Balls look another one!"

A commotion drew Si-Di‘s attention to the back corner of the cantina where she spotted two Arcona facing a human who had just yelled out. She watches as the Arcona turned to look in the direction the human pointed and then one of the Arcona drew his blaster on the human. The blaster wielding Arcona was met squarely in the crotch by a fierce kick from the human who then dived away and ran towards them as they stood just inside the doorway. (I assume there is only one doorway here as most cantinas like to limited egress points. If I am wrong please correct me).

"Jedi!" the first Arcona shouts, snatching the blaster away from his 'incapacitated' partner.

He looks like he's about to take aim at one of the Jedi, when the scarred Arcona knocks his hand down. "You idiot!" he says audibly. Soon all eyes in the cantina are on the two aliens; the lead Arcona aims his blaster at the ceiling and fires two times, then blasts out the window.

The two make a mad dash for the window...

When the Arcona yells out and begin to throw blaster fire about the cantina, Si-Di nods to herself and thinks ‘Looks like we found our bombers’. As the third blaster bolt shattered the window, Si-Di turns and runs out the doorway yelling to Ninkanna.

“Pursue them, I will try and cut them off,” she says disappearing out the door and heading around towards the window through which they were escaping. She hoped to meet them there but if not she would pursue them if they fled.

As she cleared the doorway, she drew her shoto light saber and ignited it even though they had not fired at them directly; she believed that they were attempting to cause a panic in the cantina in order to cover their escape. But if they saw her pursing them closely they might change there mind and if so she wanted to be ready to deflect any blaster bolts that came her way. (Deflect Lv 1)

(OOC: I understand Vitality points now.. I guess it helps to read the manual , they are not really damage exactly but are the prelude to damage or Wounds. A short bit for any other new players such as myself:

Damage is usually deducted from your Vitality points which represent your character’s ability to roll with an attack and avoid physical damage. Wound points represent how much physical damage a character can take before falling unconscious or dying. Damage is deducted from your wound points only after you’ve exhausted your vitality points or when you are struck by a critical hit.

So there you have it. I guess Si-Di isn’t as hurt as I thought earlier.. 'It’s just a flesh wound.' Sorry if I have already explained what everyone knows, I just wanted to share just in case. )

As everyone, except Alea who is still sleeping through all the commotion, stands around the strange creature the night air seems unnaturally still. The creature itself doesn’t move and doesn’t say anything to any of the queries directed at it.

Riddle walks around the perimeter of the camp looking in all directions and sees nothing out of the ordinary in any direction. He does notice the absence of any of the night creatures they had earlier that night; it is as if all around them everyone else had fled the area. He doesn’t know if it is due to the arrival of their new companion or some other menace in the night.

As Thor, Billy and Riddle stand ready with their weapons in case of any attack, the creature remains still and it’s eyes appeared unfocused on any of them.

None of Siliwen’s or anyone else’s questions or reactions seem to faze the creature; it is as if it had switched itself off after stepping close to Siliwen.

Well, all of you, it seems like we are now up so let us not waste this time. How about we breakfast early and set out as soon as we are done. The sooner we get to those hills the better."

Alea is awakened and sees the strange creature there and is soon told of it’s strange and sudden arrival and how Siliwen had a dream with Alacran telling them they would soon receive some help in the form of a strange companion which they believe is this creature.

As the party eats a cold breakfast the creature doesn’t move even as Siliwen moves about the camp. As the morning sun begins to brighten the western sky, they all pack up and mounting their horses, after Siliwen checks her ring which still points towards the northern base of the Grey Mountains, they begin to ride off across the open plain once more.

As soon as they leave the group of trees they are surprised to see the dark skinned creature running effortlessly alongside their mounts, it’s footfalls making almost no sound as it runs as inhuman speed and endurance. After a while they can tell that apparently it doesn’t slow or even breath hard at the exertion it just runs following them closely. Riddle, and the elves, notice that the creature doesn’t even leave a trail through the knee high grass as it passes.

Location: Wooded Area - Destination: The Grey Mountains
Date/Time: Day Six - Early Morning - Mid morning

A couple hours after the start towards the mountain they are riding across and open grass area when over the next rise ahead of them suddenly ride a group of a dozen riders. The riders stop immediately when they spot the group, which has no place to hide out here in the open, and the party can see they care confronted by a band of a dozen humanoid riders on horses. The riders didn’t seem to know the party was there but seemed surprised by the meeting so it doesn’t appear they were expecting them to be here.

After a few seconds the riders begin riding straight at the party at a brisk trot. Being close to the riders without an significant cover in sight, the party has little choice but the either wait where they are or continue to ride; they chose to continue to ride until they grow closer to the riders and then pull up within hailing distance.

The riders spread out as they approach and the party can see this isn’t going to be a good encounter. As the riders come to a stop a short distance away (about 100’) they can be clearly seen. They all appear to be human but all appear warped or disfigured in some strange fashion. They all appear wild, almost animalistic in appearance with mismatched pieces of armor and weapons. One of the riders towards the middle of the line walks his horse a step or two out from the others.

“What do you here?” he speaks in broken common sounding as if each word causes him pain to speak them, “This area is forbidden to lowlanders.” He is studying the group and before anyone in the group answers him they see his eyes widen in surprise.

“Kratus,” He yells pointing a gnarled hand at the party’s new strange companion who stands motionless once more near the back of the group. At the leader’s word all the riders draw weapons and spur their horses into action charging at the party yelling and screaming strange unrecognizable battle cries

The suddenness change in attitude of the riders takes the party by surprise and they barely have time to draw weapons before the riders are upon them.

(Initiative: Riders, Thor, Riddle, Alea, Billy, Siliwen)

The riders charge in at them swinging a vast assortment of bladed weapons:

Thor is attacked by two separate riders, who in their frenzied attack, both miss widely.

Riddle faces two large brutes, the first one scoring a minor wound across one of his thighs and the other one misses.

Alea manages to maneuver her mount and dodge the attacks of her two attackers.

Billy’s opponents (One the leader) both score minor hits on him, one on his lower leg and the other one on his upper left arm.

Siliwen tries to move her mount out of the path of her two attackers but her horse hesitates and suddenly she is left wide open to the attacks of her two adversaries. But just as she sees them bearing down on her at a full gallop, blades swinging, she suddenly watches as their horses seem to collapse under them and they crash to the ground hard just short of her. Looking she sees their new dark companion standing in the way of her attackers charge with a foreleg of each of the rider’s horses in each arm. The horses are screaming as they fall to the ground when the creature let go of their now broken legs. It looks to her as if the creature jumped in the way of the horses and grabbed the charging horses legs and brought them to an instant halt causing their forelegs to snap like kindling thus throwing the riders to the ground in lay in a heap.

The creature seems to be alert now, it’s head turning as if accessing any threats as it stands between Siliwen and any of the attacking riders.

(Ok, initiative as above. You can post in any order just be mindful that I will put those actions into the order of the initiative. If you have any questions please post them in the Q&A. Thanks!)

Entering the lab, he scanned the room and in less than a minute gave the all clear so the others could enter. He stayed clear of the blue aura surrounding the strange device in the middle of the room. He let out a low whistle of surprise at the strange sight.

“Any bets on whether or not this is the cause of this whole mess,” He said looking back as the others came into the room. He didn’t expect any takers.

“Looks like a hell of a firefight happened here,” Lee said gesturing with his carbine at all the spent casings and the damage to the room. Turning to look at Kane he kept a close eye out for trouble while he waited on Sgt Kane to give new orders.

Si-Di stopped to listen to Master Arkana’s words regarding the death of her Master and bowed her head at the more experienced woman’s wisdom. The fear of losing someone close to you was a emotion that could lead to darker elements and so could dealing with the remorse of losing that person. She steeled herself within the force as Master Arkana suggested.

“You are right, Master Arkana,” Si-Di stated calmly, “I will do so.”

Master Janis Arkana turns to Si-Di, detected her using the force to search the feelings of those in the cantina. "Do you sense anything, young apprentice?"

“There is a great turbulence of emotions in there,” Si-Di says shaking her head, “Everyone seems nervous… I guess it is to be expected.. but perhaps a closer investigation would reveal more.”

Master Arkana turns back to Si-Di and Ninkanna. "I understand some kind of peace talks are going to occur here, Si-Di. If that is your mission, my padawan is now your partner in this. You shouldn't have to bear this burden alone, and I think you may need the help, considering how dangerous your mission has been thus far. In any case, Si-Di, you've exerted yourself enough already.

“I had not thought to undertake my mission without my Master,” The Cerean says softly, “but I must give it a try… I can only succeed or fail.” Turning to Ninkanna she bows her head to the Cathar.

“I welcome any assistance you can give me,” she says with a smile, “but first perhaps we can both question some of the people in that cantina and see if anyone knows anything of interest.”

She turned to Kavtan when he spoke to Master Arkana, "Shall I go with Si-Di and Ninkanna to assist them or would you rather I provided you with assistance for the time being? Also, do you Si-Di or your apprentice speak Durese? It is a less common language and would be best if we could communicate in it?"

Si-Di speaks up to both the Jedi Master and Kavtan, “I you do not need him Master Arkana, I think he would be of great benefit to us in helping questions people about the explosion.” She let the Master decide.

After the Master answers, Si-Di turns to head towards the cantina with Ninkanna when she feels the padawan drawing upon the force; she stops and looks at her and listens to the force. She can feel without really trying that the woman is pulling in healing energy and when she reaches out to Si-Di she remains still. Her eyes close for a couple seconds as she feels the energy of the force flow from Ninkanna into her body and lets the warm feeling flow through her.

(Whether she is successful or not)

Si-Di opens her eyes and smiles at Ninkanna, “Thank you!”

The Cerean then follows Ninkanna into the cantina keeping her eyes open for anything suspicious or anyone who appears to be trying to flee. Entering the place she looks at everyone there and then smiles slightly trying to break the tension she can feel in the air even without the force.

“I am Si-Di,” She says in a comforting and non-threatening tone, “I would like to ask you all some questions if I may regarding the explosion that took place just a little while ago which claimed the life of a Jedi Master.”

Tanglefoot watched as the GuildMaster excused the elf and he raised an eyebrow at what appeared to him to be a silent rebuke, for what he had no idea.

“You are lying through your teeth little one,” the guild mistress spoke, and for the first time, Tanglefoot noticed the Qinxoree accent within her rhetoric, “but… I like you. You entertain me. Quite the spinner of tales, aye?”

The Halfling gave her a surprised look as she accused him of lying, but that slipped slowly away as she continued and he smiled sheepishly and shrugged slightly as if to say it was worth a try.

“I will look into this business regarding your… what is it exactly that you’ve had stolen from you?”

“A statuette,” Tanglefoot said and gave her a detailed description of the item. This might be a stroke of luck he thought, to get the item back and to get in the good graces of the Guild Master of Drydoc.

“You must do me a favor however, as my time is not free. I have a job for you, and may even pay you if you don’t screw it up as badly as some other jobs you’ve had.” In regards to this statement, an obvious mockery of his current situation, she gives off the most appealing giggle, which is cut short before it becomes melodious, and making it missed by it’s absence. “If you accept, then I shall work on finding you your previous prize, though these are my terms… and quite non negotiable at that.”

He smiled slightly and sighed; he didn’t expect to get anything for free and perhaps this ‘job’ might make this entire venture more profitable than he had imagined. Her little giggle surprised him as he didn’t expect such things from someone as hard and demanding as a Guild Master.

“What choice do I have,” Tanglefoot shrugged with a small grin, “besides I would be honored to work for such a powerful personage as yourself.. ah.. what do I call you? Guild Mistress?” He hoped to learn at least her name, if not from her he was sure he could find out on the streets of Drydoc, for a price.

Si-Di nodded her head to the introductions of everyone and then turned to look again at the ship wreckage wondering about Master Allum’s body. She didn’t even know if there was anything left from the explosion but if there was she wished to take it back to the Academy so that they could perhaps send it back to his homeworld and family, if he had any.

"Are you... alright?" Ninkanna finds herself asking Si-Di, much to her surprise.

"I mean," She quickly amends, "are you hurt at all? Were you injured inside that shuttle?"

Si-Di turned back to the other padawan and then looked at her own body, she did have several minor burns which stung her quiet a bit and probably needed medical attention.

“I sustained some minor burns from the flames,” she stated calmly, “I will seek aid after the other passengers are tended to.” Her own pain at the moment was minor; she calmed herself with Jedi meditation trick which tended to ease her pain to only a dull throbbing.

"Whist we are introducing ourselves my name is Kavtan Cleentor, unfortunately I believe your assassin is still here. That bomb was targeted at you and your master and set of with accuracy." Kavtan says facing the Jedi named Si-Di

"The only place a person could hide is here is in the cantina, I suggest you cordon it off and interrogate the customers, I'll talk to my employer about it and see that you have an appropriate room to conduct any questions in."

Si-Di whirled her head to look at the man named Kavtan then turned her gaze to look at the cantina to which he was referring.

“You think the bombers are still here?” She asked while looking at the door to this place he had pointed out.

She hadn’t even thought of that; she thought the bomb had been set ahead of time and not knowing much about the subject now that the man might be correct and someone had been watching to set off the explosion at the right time.

She ‘reached out’ with her Jedi powers (Empathy) trying to gauge the feelings of anyone inside the cantina. She searched especially for any guilty feelings or any other emotions that would point towards someone who had set off the bomb that had killed her Master.

“Perhaps we should go look,” the Cerean said scooping up her bag and slinging it again around her shoulders as she started towards the cantina, all the time trying to sense the emotions of those within. If the guilty party were inside and saw a Jedi approaching they would probably feel some apprehension and maybe even attempt to escape.

Suspicion once again returned Croaker tensed up and asked MDK a question of his own.

“Ok, consider me confused didn’t Spring Heeled Jack brief you on our mission, target, or the reasons behind all this?”

Mae raised an eyebrow at Croaker’s question; didn’t he just ask about the mission, did the man think he was stupid and had to ask questions to which he had already been given the answers? He saw the light of suspicion enter the Nomad’s eyes again and he chuckled once.

“The only think Jack told me,” MDK said slowly so that he might be understood, “was that it was a shot at the Megacorps and that was all I needed to know to accept. I guess he figured you would fill in the details. Was he wrong?”

Si-Di was relieved when the two employees took the two unconscious pilots from her. She moved away from the ship and felt like collapsing to the landing pad. She felt totally drained by the experience; not only had she used a lot of force energy during the escape but she had received some injuries in the form of minor burns from her dash through the flames to get to the cockpit. The loss of her Master also weighed heavily upon her and she had to steel herself to keep from breaking down right here and crying.

The Cerean staggered away from the ship and looked around and was startled to see two other Jedi; in the excitement of the escape she had not sensed them and she also wasn’t expecting them. She moved slowly over to the two and nodded her head to them, her fatigue clearly visible on her smoky, sweaty face.

“I am Si-Di,” She introduced herself, “I am … I was Master Allum’s Padawan.” Her voice slightly hoarse and she coughed from some smoke she had inhaled. “My Master… is dead!” She finally slipped the strap on her bag over her head and let the bag drop to the ground as she sighed with some relief.

(OOC: Room for introductions here)

Si-Di let Master Arkana speak with the man called Namor and she only nodded her thanks to him when he invited them all to a dinner tonight. She didn’t much feel like eating right now, but she would probably be hungry later once the shock of the sudden death of her master began to lessen.

She had only been his padawan a short while, and this was her first assignment with him. She had come to respect the old Zabrak and his stern unrelenting ways. Being a analytical person herself she too saw the need for stern discipline and decorum in their line of work.

After the man left she turned again to Master Arkana picking up her bag from the landing pad she looked about towards where the now extinguished ship sat.

“We should attend to Master Allum’s body,” she said with a quivering voice, “if there is anything left.. We should see that it is returned to the Academy.”

Talon remained looming over her for a few seconds then nodded and snorted slightly and then surprised her by not ‘laying into her’ but he took a step backwards, “Very well LT,” he said in a softer tone of voice, “I’ll take your word for it. Just do your best and that is all anyone can ask.”

The sudden turn of his demeanor may have surprised her and if she thought on it she might come to the conclusion that it was just another test of his to see if she would crack under the pressure of combat. He was the ship’s Tactical Officer and therefore he probably used tactics like this to read his subordinates and determine their true mettle.

“Lets go work on our assignments for the briefing tomorrow,” He grinned slightly, “Our captain is an impatient man… it doesn’t do to make him angry..er.”

He would lead her to one of the empty briefing rooms and give her access to information she would need. Available charts through Dominion space, intel the Charon’s last mission there, and offer his input on what had happened before and how they had managed to escape and return, barely.

As he helped her work on her plans for their course, he would work on his own computer terminal checking up on security measure to handle the Romulans that would be coming aboard once they rendezvoused with the Cerberus.

He checked his recent intel on any known movements of the Dominion, he accessed reports for the ships repairs and status and was pleased to find that it looked like all major systems would be operational before the Cerberus arrived. Only a few minor systems that could be easily repaired in flight would remain; at least this was good news.

He notified his security forces of his plans for dealing with ship’s security would be during this mission and that they could expect to many long hours keeping a watchful eye on their ‘guests’.

After several hours, he finished compiling his report for the briefing tomorrow and transferred it to his PADD; standing he stretched very reminiscent of a house cat then turned to Lt Mas’Riat.

“If you are done,” Talon said straightening his uniform, “I will show you to your quarters so that you may rest.”

He would lead her out of the small briefing room and to the turbolift, directing it to Deck 2. Once there he showed her to a room and punching in a command code on the door access panel he opened the door for her.

“This room has been assigned to you,” he explained, “the door will now respond to your presence. If you need anything the computer in your room can direct you to wherever you need to go.” He turned to leave then after a few steps he stopped and turned to look at her.

“Good night, Lt,” Talon said with a slight grin, “and don’t be late for the briefing.” He turned back up the hall and she heard him chuckle slightly just before he went around the corner.

Si-Di took in the situation in an instant and knowing that she couldn’t safely get the pilots out through the cabin she decided the window would have to do. Stepping between the two unconscious crewmen ; she slashed at the front window of the cockpit with her shoto and shielded her face from the spray of glass and doused her light saber and had it on her belt all in one fluid motion.

Turning to the first pilot she unfastened any harness they might be wearing, if any, and calling upon the force to augment her strength, lifted him (or her) from the chair and hoisted the up to the window. Holding on to one arm she shoved the unconscious person out the window and at the extent of her reach she let go hoping the person was close enough to the ground now to hit feet first before slumping to the ground. Immediately she would turn and repeat the process with the second unconscious pilot except this time she would follow that one out the window and hopefully ease them more gently to the ground.

Once outside she would look about and if she saw anyone within sight she would yell at them, “I need help here! We have to get them away from the ship now.”

(OOC: She will try to lower the person to the ground as well as can be, if she can lower one while leaning out holding one of their arms she might get them to touch the ground mostly before she lets go so they wont come down to hard and injure themselves further. If one of the pilots looks more injured then the first she will do that one last so she can follow that one out and lower them even more gently. )

Si-Di felt the two unconscious pilots in the cockpit and knew she couldn’t leave them to die. She heard people yelling and talking outside though she couldn’t quite make any of it out clearly and without really looking that way she yelled out to them, “The Pilots are trapped in the front.”

Drawing her short saber this time she pulled her all-weather cloak around her and judging the path with the lowest amount of flames, she ignited her shoto and dashed through towards the door to the cockpit. Moving as fast as she safely could without falling she dashed through the flames and as she reached it she slashed at where the locking mechanism would be on the door.

If the door opened she would jump through and quickly assess the situation: if she was on fire anyplace, the condition of the pilots and any possible emergency exit. She was hoping that those outside had heard her call for aid to the front of the transport and they could help to extricate the pilots. She knew they were running out of time and had to get everyone out and away from the craft before things got much worse.

(OOC: If the door to the cockpit doesn’t open, she will pause long enough to slice at it with her light saber. The interior door should be constructed of less sturdy stuff as the hull and once she is through she will jump into the cockpit.)

"I'm sorry, you hope I'm not angry? That you've suckered me? Made me to look a fool before the Captian? Oh no, you furry bastard. Not angry in the slightest...only...."

Talon grinned and taking a step forward till he was towering over her glaring down into her eyes, “That is Lt. Cmdr Bastard to you Lt,” he said threateningly, “Don’t forget your rank here. Personally I don’t care if you like me or not, or if you take offense at the way I chose to welcome you aboard, but what I have done to you here is trivial and if you cant take it… get out now.. I don’t need some over sensitive wet behind the ears officer who takes offense at every little thing and then cant perform her duty. Do I make myself clear, Lt?” His tone had lost all it’s humor and now she could see he was dead serious.

"I'm to fly us all through Dominion space, am I..." She paused, looking at him, head cocked.

Talon took a step back from her to give her some room and snorted derisively, “Yes! You wouldn’t be my first choice either, but someone thinks you have some special knowledge of the situation so I imagine you have been there before and know your way around.”

"You realize, of course, that we're all going to die."

“Everyone dies,” the Lyran stated in a matter-of-fact tone, “but some are lucky enough to chose the time of their dying and make it worth something. If you want to be afraid of something let it be failure, because if you fail to do your job and cause the failure of this mission then you should pray for death otherwise I will make your life a living hell.”

“Am I rightly understood LT?” Talon’s tone again all business and formal demanding that his rank and orders be respected or pay the consequences.

Si-Di has slung her simple bag around her shoulders as she stood up to exit the transport, she too paused as she felt the disturbance in the force. She reacted to Master Allum’s command to get back by holding her arms out and stepping backwards trying to force people back from the exit, “Get Back!”

The explosion rock the ship and she instinctively ducked down to the side behind some seats. As soon as the ship fell to the landing platform she was again on her feet staring at the flame engulfed doorway.

“Master!” Si-Di yelled as her eyes cleared of smoke.. Seeing no sign of him and feeling the pain in the force at his death, Si-Di felt like slumping down to the deck. The wail of other trapped passengers snapped her out of her remorse and she straightened up.

Her analytical Cerean mind regarded her choices and as always saw the good and bad of situations. Seeing the main entrance blocked by fire and not knowing the layout of the ship, he drew her long lightsaber from her belt and stepped to the side of the transport ship.

“Everyone remain calm!’ She yelled to be heard above the din and ignited her lightsaber, with a ‘snap-hiss’ the emerald blade sprang into life. With only a second to hesitation she stabbed the meter and a half long glowing blade through the side of the transport ship and began cutting a doorway large enough for a grown person to step through. She didn’t think it would take more than a few seconds to cut through the side of the transport and since the ship had crashed to the ground he hoped it was now close enough for the remaining passengers to exit safely.

(OOC: Don’t know how long it will take but if there enough time continue with action below)

Once a hole was cut she would kick the center of the makeshift door and watch it clatter to the ground. If the passengers could step out she would turn and extinguishing her saber instruct the passengers to exit.

“The woman and her child first,” she said in a calm though authoritative tone, “then the rest of you! Get clear as soon as you can.”

If the distance to the ground was a bit of a jump she turned to the Trandoshans and pointed at them, “You two jump down first and then stay there to help the others down.” Her tone, though calm, held the authority of one who expected to be obeyed.

“I will check on the pilots,” Si-Di said and while the others exited she looked to see if she could get to the cockpit. If there was no way, barred by flames, destroyed, etc., she will try to sense if the there is any life in the cockpit. If there is no life, she would turn and jump out the hole she cut in the side.

(OOC: If this works, hopefully this entire scene won’t take more than 30 secs. If she senses life or can get to the cockpit she will try to get there to check on the pilots)

Love the action right away.. keeps things interesting... couple of questions though...

1). I assume the normal exit is blocked or destroyed by the blast.. is there another exit from the ship?

2). How many people are in the ship with Si-Di?

Thanks!

Drydoc, The Eye of the Dragon
Shader's Nest
Febre, Mid day

Tanglefoot followed the elf trying to stay cheerful and unafraid as possible. His sharp eyes looking about picking up little bits and pieces of information about the operation. When he saw all the kobolds he groaned slightly, he didn’t get a good enough look to pick out the one that jumped him, but it hardly mattered since he wasn’t getting the statuette back unless the guild master approved.

Following the elf up the stairs where his guide knocked on a door Tanglefoot listened trying to hear the coded knock sequence; one soft, two quick, pause, one, pause, two quick, .. Or was that one, two quick, pause, two quick? Blast he cursed silently to himself as he couldn’t remember and gave up trying.

When they entered the room and he saw the large orcish female gazes down on him with a look that didn’t bode well for the Halfling, he smiled in a roguish way and greeted her, “Hey there Beautiful!” Though his comment was in jest, his tone was serious and held no hint of mockery; he didn’t want to become Halfling slime on the floor.

Entering the Master’s chambers he practically gawked at the lavish furnishing.. Now this was the life.. He could live like this for sure. Seeing that he was brought before a female thief he started visibly at her, ‘This is the Guildmaster?’ he thought but quickly recovered. He had heard of some guilds having female masters though he personally had never heard of one by name and had never met one either.

"Greetings Silvarimon, what have you brought me today?" Her voice was tender, calm, quiet but articulate. She made you lean in to hear, though without missing a word said. It was an old trick of seduction, and she handled it masterfully.

"This particular young halfling has said that there was a theft, that an item of value had been stolen from him by a kobold under our employ. I might also add that he is a known thief, and that he neglected to pay us our respects before continuing on in his rogue endeavours." Replied the elven lead, who was apparantly named Silvarimon.

"Hmmm..." said the guildmistress, in a contemplative gesture, "Well, what do you have to say for yourself?"

Taking a single step forward, Tanglefoot put his right hand over his heart and bowed low to the Guildmaster, “Greetings Guildmaster of Drydoc,” he said in a voice as if he were announcing a street performance of some kind, “I am Tanglefoot Brambleburr at your service.”

Straightening he glanced slightly towards the elf, “I am afraid our good friend Silvarimon here is mistaken,” he said turning his gaze back to the woman, “I am not well known and I have not yet completed any ‘endeavors’ that would require me to ‘pay my respects’ to your honorable personage.” He smiled widely at her showing no fear as it seemed he was in his element here among thieves.

“I have only recently arrived in Drydoc,” Tanglefoot continued in explanation before they had a chance to reply, “I was only passing through and didn’t come here seeking any ‘jobs’. I was approached by a ‘client’ to perform a ‘service’ and the pay was… too good.” He smiled and shrugged as if that was all the explanation they need regarding why he took the job.

“I was in the midst of performing said job,” He continued, “when I was set upon by one of your ‘employees’ and he made off with my prize. I was going to collect and then immediately seek out your esteemed Guildness to pay the dues that I know are required of any outsiders that ‘work’ within your boundaries. I would have approached you up front about this matter but alas I am a poor little thing and didn’t have any funds with which to pay ‘respects‘ ”

His tongue was smooth and he showed no hesitation or fear in his remarks that would make it easy to tell he was lying; he just stood there confidently smiling as if all was well with the world. Of course, he was a thief and, being one as well, she could no doubt tell a well constructed lie when she heard one.
