Stardate: 2374.09.03
Cerberus - Transporation Room - 05:35 Hours

The transporter beam fizzled out and left the girl standing on the platform. Peering around she grinned at the tech behind the desk.

"Everything in it's proper place? Okay to come down now?"

The tech laughed a little and nodded,
"All clear miss..."

"Thanks!" Gathering her mess she stepped off the platform.
The tech gave her a good looking over as she stepped into the full light of the room. The first thing he noticed, was the odd assortment of things she had precariously balanced in her arms. Largest of the items was a framed document, printed in elaborate red calligraphy, a diploma from Oxford University. This precious document was wedged between her upper arms, as her hands were each carrying a pot. In the two pots were plants, the one on the left side was a tall green plant with a flat top. The top was stripped with brilliant red and appeared to have small spike like protrusions poking out one end. On the right was another tall plant this one with strangely shapped purple flowers dropping from it's thin stems. Burdening her shoulders further was a large backpack, with what appeared to be a corn stalk sticking out the top of it.

Underneath the important paperwork and the foliage there was a girl. Slight in build and average in height she was easily buried by everything. However, under it all she was pretty. Skin the color of chocolate milk, dark hazel almond shaped eyes, and smooth thick black hair pulled into a heavy braid and then tied up around her head like a crown. The look was exotic to say the least and seemed to incorporate several human races in it. After noting how pretty she was he couldn’t help but then notice the small silver band with a tiny diamond set in the middle on her left ring finger, married, or at least engaged… just as his luck would have it.

Her uniform was still shiny and new, so new in fact that the tech noticed a size sticker still on one of the sleeves.

"So... you need a hand miss?" The tech rose and offered to take one of her plants.

"Oh... thank you. Be careful with her, that's Jezabell." Grinning as she handed over the flowering plant.
He rose a brow "Jezabell?"

Nodding happily, "Yes, she's an orchid. Delightful little creature she is, and not nearly as temperamental as Judas here..." nodding toward the other plant.

The girl named her plants, pretty but odd…

"I see... " he really didn't but it didn't seem worth stressing the point. "Oxford huh?"

"Yes" blushing, "just graduated, last December. Spent the last few months at the Academy, graduated from that just yesterday. Boy was that ever hard! I’ve never done anything so hard in my life! But I am so excited about getting to come along with you guys, I’ve heard this is going to be a very important mission. Don’t get me wrong, Oxford was great, loved it, but I am so looking forward to getting out there, with the stars, and... and all those plants I only got to see on hologram back at Oxford, or some I've never even heard of before, hey! I wonder if I find some new species do you think they'll name it after me? Oh wouldn't that be glorious!"

The tech let the girl ramble for a bit then asked, "Your uncle?"

"Yes. Admiral Long. He's my mother’s older brother, well that does make sense, him being my uncle and all.”

"Admiral Long, the Dean of Starfleet Academy?" The tech asked, his eyes bugging out a bit.

"Yes. Are there more than one Admiral Longs? Boy would that be confusing."

"No... there aren't. Not that I know of anyway." He shook his head, having the favored niece of Admiral Long on board was not going to make this trip any more pleasant, he thought to himself.

"Oh! How rude I've been... I've introduced you to my plants, but not myself yet..." giggles, "I'm Ensign Sojourn Lyvette, Apprentice Science Officer. But really you can just call me Curie, everyone does."

Curie? He considered asking, but was too afraid of what the answer might be and how long it might take her to get to it, so instead he just smiled, "Crewman Bruce Wainwright, Engineering. Please to make your acquaintance. Now let’s get you to the Turbolift, Lt. Solus will be expecting you to report. However, we are due to launch here in less than half an hour, seems you just made it aboard, I think he’ll be up on the Bridge for the launch. It might be best if you wait in the laboratory until he comes down from that.”

“Well lets find out!” She grinned, “Computer! Location of Lt. Solus…”

=^//= Science Laboratory. =^//=

“See! He’s still there, I should hurry before he leaves! Computer, inform Lt. Solus I am on my way to report for duty…”

Wainwright could not help but to smile slightly at the girls obvious enthusiasm, especially aboard this ship.
“Turbolift is this way maam…” He smiled and led the way, carrying her plant with him.

At the Turbolift he put the plant down inside the pod and helped Lyvette inside.

“Thanks so much Wainwright…” She grinned down at him as the doors slid shut and she went on her way.

Inside she hummed softly to herself in her excitement over her very first post, and she smiled down at Judas in her arms, “We made it guy, can you believe it?!”

The Turbolift attendant rose his brow at the girl talking to a plant but said nothing, stopping in front of the Science Lab and holding the doors open for her while she clumsily collected all of her things in her arms and bade him a smile goodbye.

The door to the Laboratory was open and standing in it was a tall man in a blue shirt, he too had a brow raised at the spectacle going on in front of him.

“Lt. Solus I presume…” She smiled and started to try and offer a hand and then realized they were all full of plants and diplomas. “Well… I’d shake your hand but as you can see my hands are full… I’m Ensign Lyvette, the new Apprentice Science Office, reporting for duty sir!” Standing up to full height with pride, the corn stalk behind her bouncing.

“Indeed… I am Lt. Solus. Come in and put some of that down.”

“Yes sir!” She grinned and walked into the lab, taking a second to look around and admire all the scientific do-dads laying around, “Ohhh… very nice. Just anywhere?”

“On the counter over there. I am going to skip the whole, welcome on board, here is your quarters, and PADD and all of that because I am on my way to the Bridge for launch, so you’ll just have to wait… On second thought how about you come up with me, I’ll introduce you around the Bridge while everyone is there.”

“Wonderful!” She set the plants in her hands on the counter leaned the frame against the cabinets and carefully pulled off her backpack and set it on the counter as well. Turning with a smile she quickly gave a little wave of her fingers to the plants and then looked at the Lt. “All ready to go sir!”

Shaking his head a little bit at the young girl he got back onto the Turbolift and waited for him to join her. The ride there was quiet, save for a slight humming coming from Sojourn.

Once at the Bridge she followed Lt. Solus in quietly, eyes wide, taking it all in, her hands clasped behind her back so she could fight off the urge to touch everything.

Only a million? Well... hey it will do for now. I'd pay off all that stupid debt I've got built up, quit my job and go back to school for my Phd in either women's history or criminal history, or perhaps history of female criminals... turn my Lizzie Borden historiography paper into my dissertation... hmm... now I'm dreaming... oh well.

I liked the elves bit Capn... am very interested to see how these guys will all interact.

Btw... I think Cay mentinoed in her post that she might have a contact at the Goblin, here's my thoughts on that.
I'd imagine one of the things Cays been doing for money would be reminding patrons of various establishments around the docks that they need to pay their bills. In doing this I will assume she has gotten to know some of the staff of the inns, and they probably either work in more than one or bounce around from one to the other as they get caught pilfering and get fired... or something to the like. So I was thinking she might just happen to know a chamber maid or cook at the Goblin from previous work and would try to pay her to get information.

Let me know what you think about that and how this needs to be played out...

Topic: Why'd You Choose Your Avatar?
Subject: Unique

Well I actually picked out this avatar before I started any games... so it isn't because she looks like a char I play. And actually Merideth is the name of the main character I used to play on Mylanders before it died (and I've been kind of grateful since I found this that it has never been resurrected fully), so I've been Meri for years...
The reason I picked out this Avatar is because I think she has a really cute butt, her face was covered to add mystery and the colors/art style were so different from others.
I've found this useful because when I scroll down threads I can easily pick out when I posted last
So there it is, she has a cute butt... and hell so do I.

"You know Nyx... I never suggested that Spite was going to lure him with her breasts... I left it up to her how she was going to lure him.

What if he does turn out to like boys?" She leaned over the table some towards Nyx, who sat directly infront of her, raised her head so her eyes could see his and batted her eye lashes, then with a soft voice cooed "Are you willing to tempt his loins?"

Then the face dropped and she slid back grabbing her knife off the table with a sudden movement.

"If you don't like my idea on where to go find a better one on your own, I just happen to trust it. Now then... as for your scouting, have at it, go off and watch the fat aristocrat." And with that she stood up, bouncing into the serving wench, from whom she grabbed the glass, downed in one long drink and slammed the glass on the table, again wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

"Now then... back here tomorrow afternoon, after we've gotten some bloody information? I'll check out the Goblin, I might still have a contact that will help me out with that..."

She waited only long enough to hear an acceptance of the time and then walked out of the bar, pulling her hat down and wrapping her cloak tightly around her shoulders.

Subject: Stepping Up...

"I suppose," Spite chuckled, "that if I were to cut the tips off my oears as well and prance about as one of the parasites, I could do, as one, what you do as well..."

She paused, twirling a lock of ebon waved silk around a long slender finger. "..but the people who typically employ me like things done well."

With the snide comment about her ears she pulled the hat down further over them. Her ears were her concern, and her concern only. These little half breed demonic sisters didn’t know what she’d been through. From what she knew they had grown up here in the city, not living out there in the woods covered in fleas with those miserable elves, they knew nothing about what it actually meant to be an elf, so they could take their opinions about what she was pretending to be and shove it someplace dark and wet.

"But yes, I could very well lure him where ever. For a roundear pretender, that's not a bad idea. Don't you think so, dearest Mallys?"

But her silent sister sat scowling, shadowed by her cloak. Leaning back, Sylla sighed. "It might be advantageous to disguise myself and have a look around while you lot work out some oother avenues to fall back upon, should our original plan fail for some reason," she suggested, focsing her smile, now cold but polite, at Cay.

"Of course, wecould always consider the possibility of dual diversions. Burn down the building while I have him out. THat way, the building would be relatively unoccuoied while you search."

“Dearest Spite… we are looking for a document, paper… perhaps –burning- down the building isn’t exactly the best idea since paper, at least last time I check happened to be flammable…” She still sat back in her chair, arms crossed, head down, hat covering her eyes (and her cropped off ears), a pose that the others at the table would likely come to recognize. Her voice was dark and full of annoyance, over being called a pretender and over the obvious lack of thought put into this by Spite.
“Besides… Vadim said that the paper should be on his person. Not saying that it will be of course, but we should make plan A go according to the assumption that it is, and have plan B be backup in case the human decides to make things difficult for us. So… plan A…”

Uncrossing her arms she leaned across the table and unsheathed the small dagger that appeared in her hands. Where the dagger exactly came from and when it got in her hands was hard to say, especially with all the nasty comments flying about the table keeping everyone a bit distracted, but there it was. Head down as always she began to etch lines into the face of the already well scared table top. At one point she put an ‘x’ and then finally stabbed her dagger into the cross section of another two lines further down the table, it stood up like a little flag bearer.

“Alright… here is the layout down there.” Pointing to the x “That’s the Goblin, here the docks, and here… “ pointing to the dagger “is… is where I stay. This is what I think:

Malice should go tail him until tomorrow morning, find out what he’s doing here, find out where he is going tomorrow, and how many guards he has on his fat pink -. I say Malice because of all of us she is the least noticeable, and besides she won’t open her mouth and say something stupid… also” Cay rose her eyes up just enough to meet the silent half breeds with her own, “I have a feeling that while she sits over there and says nothing that she –sees- everything.

Once Mal figures out what his intentions are Spite can work up a plan to get him to my place. It’s the second story above a fish mongers shop, so you might have to get creative in order to get him up. Mal should follow and get rid of the guards.

Nyx and I will wait for you to arrive with the guest of honor, we make sure he has what he is supposed to have, chop off his head, you all can bicker amongst yourselves who will do that honor… and I’ll figure out how to get rid of the body without arising too much discussion amongst the neighbors. We bring the head and the paper back here and get our reward.

Now… if he doesn’t have what he needs on him I’ll find out where it is, and then one of us can go get it, with the guards already taken care of that shouldn’t be too difficult. If things go to hell… we’ll need to scatter and then regroup at a later time of course. But that shouldn’t happen, not if we all do our jobs. Now then… any questions or any arguments with that plan?”

She leaned back in the chair, and took the same pose she had before…

“Oh and by the way… the name is Cay, or at least witch… not round ear pretender, at least if you’d like to keep the pretty little points on your own ears that is…”
Her lips pursed up and she waited to see if anyone was going to challenge her on this issue, truly she didn’t want them to, she wanted to be Hellkite, and she needed them to do it, this she realized, but if they did challenge it, she had a little spell worked up that did a bit more than just changed the color of a candle and she wouldn’t hesitate to use it.

Subject: Question of PC's

While Eol still has not officially added me to the crew, I have been working up my first post, boarding and reporting and what not. Looking at the roster (once I found it...) I noticed that we already have two science officers on board, Star Fleet apparently thinks they will need lots of science for this mission. But back to my point... I do have one... Lt. Solus played by Devalero appears to be my Ensign's superior officer and I would therefore imagine who she would report to and get orders from... however... Devalero has not posted in months it seems so I was wondering how to procede with this?
Is protocol simply to put Sojourn's responses to what I would assume he would say (kind of like hearing one side of the phone conversation) and edit as needed if he posts at a later date... or is there a better way of doing this, I don't want to step on anyone's toes here, character or pc...
Thanks
M.

In response to Nyx she simply grunted something under her breath, narrowed her eyes and again dropped her eyes to the table.

When the wench appeared she spoke under her hat, "Another one of these..." raising her glass to her lips and finishing it off. The glass was then slammed onto the table and her lips wiped off with the back of her hand in a very unlady like gesture. "And a loaf of bread, I'm starving... and remind that cur at the bar that I've got the coin so the good ale, and no mold on my blood bread, got that?"

Once that seemed settled she crossed her arms, leaned back in her chair and sunk into a brooding silence.

not really knowing anything about Comics, I will have to simply say that whoever owns Hellboy. I think that's Marvel. The first movie was fantastic, a glorious expedition into the philosophical question of 'what makes a man?' from the view point of christian philosophers such as St. Augustine... brilliant. I only hope the sequel lives up to my expectations. Not to mention Hellboy is cute... and loves kittens so he's like my all time hero.

Burton or Spielburg?
