Yeah I wondered a bit at how long it took to turn, although considering what I know about how the comic's handle turning and such I guess I shouldn't be too overly surprised, it wasn't your typical zombie turning (they always like to throw some kind of twist in there now )
And I absolutly agree with you Pit, I Glenn, did in the books and still do now that he's on screen. Andrea and him are probably some of my favorites. I'm so glad they got Holden to play Andrea she's going to do a stellar job with it.

Finally caught the latest episode.
And yeah... I think I missed the volume with the CDC too... but should be interesting. Now I'm definatly waiting around with the rest of you to find out what happens next.
We watched all of the other episodes with friends in the past couple of days and they kept asking me what happens next and I finally just went... 'I don't know anymore'
Good episode.
I kept holding my breath when Shane and Rick were out in the woods.

That's one good thing about the TV show vs. the comics... you can draw things out longer.
Does she give her the mermaid necklace? No... wait don't tell me... I'll try to find out soon enough on my own.

Yeah haven't gotten around to it yet... silly holidays and stuff getting in the way. Rewatched the first episode with some friends that came into town last night though.
Did I mention how much I the imagery of Grimes riding into Atlanta on a horse? It's just delightful...

The helicopter. I'd forgotten about that.
Although that might just be a really long set up for something that happens in the comics quiet a bit later... *shrug*
And yeah... Merle being responsible for the attack had crossed my mind too. But sheesh... he's one hardcore Redneck if that's the case. Almost certainly dehydrated and hungry he not only manages to cut off his own hand, but manages to cauterize the wound and then round up a slew of zombies into a van with only the one hand without getting eaten himself? Possible yes... but dang!

Zombies!
Have to agree gentlemen, Sunday's show was fantastical!
And yes... where is that van... and better yet... who has it? We are just assuming Merle has it, maybe the zombies took it for a joy ride
I'd been wondering if they were going to do something like the camp attack to be honest. There were so many people at the camp that just aren't in the comics, having them get munched by zombies is a good way to thin out the cast

I'm pretty good about eating and watching gross stuff.
Well at least since I got over the morning sickness.
Funny story... I have such an aversion to spittle (and tobacco) that when I tried to watch Kill Bill at the beginning of my pregnancy I ended up making a mad dash to the restroom when Elle gets that jar of spit up chew thrown in her face. The rest of the movie went fine for me... couldn't handle that scene though.
Blood and guts don't usually get to me.

Well I don't have a title, I'm always bad at coming up with those myself.
I have all these stories started on my computer that I just have saved under the main character's name because that's all I can think of.
But... back to your story.
I liked it. I think the shifting between past and present works pretty well... at the end with the wizard it got a little confusing, since she was fighting a sorceror/wizard and I was confused at first as to whom she was talking to. Maybe giving the 'good wizard' a name and a bit more information (how she knew him, where he came from etc) might clear that up.
And just a personal thing... I'd love more info on the protaganist. Currently he seems a little flat... kind of your generic 2D bad guy that appears in every story. I like bad guys with a little more to them personally. We know why Raina is doing what she is doing, but why is the sorc?
Well there is my two cents... As a bit of D&D type lore it is great (and if that was the goal then disregard my opinion on your protaganist, that kind of lore doesn't need deep bad guys... just awesome heroes (or heroines as the case may be))!
Thanks for sharing!
Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Yeah but can you imagine what his digestive system is saying about all that friggin' corn!?
That can't be healthy.
But... back to zombies and such. I do rather hope Daryl sticks around, he might be a bit of an *** but he is at least funny with it. And kind of reminds me of home...
'Do you think we can just cut around that spot [on the deer]?' Good stuff...

Agreed. And from what I recall on the intro written in the comics by Kirkman that was his goal.
I think that's why I've always liked zombie stories. Zombies really aren't the greatest 'monster' all things considered. The concept behind turning into one and feasting on the flesh of your friends and family is a bit disturbing but generally they are only a threat in large numbers (although after watching this weeks episode I do have to ask... how many Georgian's does it take to take down ONE zombie?).
The real threat comes from the survivors... the breakdown of 'society' and what happens afterward is the real story, the zombies are just the catalyst.
Ohhh... and not exactly related but... not having read the comics before watching this might have been a decent idea. I have too many prefabricated notions when some character comes on the screen... and they keep getting dashed because so many of them are just not the same as they were in the books, or didn't even exist in the books.
So I doubt I can even give any spoilers as to what happens to people at this point. My husband keeps asking me that (he only likes to watch 'scary' movies if they have a happy ending (Talking him into seeing 'Secret Window' in the theater is something I will never live down I think)) and I've just fumbled around and shrugged going... 'I have no idea what happens to that person, they either weren't in the comics or they never acted like that!'
Ohhh... and wow is Merle dumb... there are way more effective ways of getting free of a handcuff than cutting off your entire hand. Just saying...

My husband and step daughter do the catsup.
I prefer stone ground brown mustard... I'll settle for yellow French's if I'm at a BBQ or something. And if they don't have that... plain. Catsup does NOT belong on brats.
My strange pregnancy taste buds have made eating seafood sound like catsup on brats... and eating anything with cheese nearly heavenly.

As for names... we keep debating between Connor or Gabriel.

My husband had issues with Glenn pulling off a perfect J-turn in the Challenger.
Which I thought was funny because that was all he had issues with. And then explained to him that all ex-pizza delivery boy's can do that... and then my husband was sad because he used to delivery drive but he delivered sandwiches not pizza so he didn't get the j-turn training.
Personally I loved all the squishy sounds when they chopped up that zombie. That was nice and icky.
And yes... Brains

Of course he's not a good guy. He encroached on his best friend's wife.
And even while they might have suspected that Rick wasn't going to make it out of that hospital alive, they had no proof... and they jumped on that train pretty quickly too. I'd hope that that my best friend and husband wouldn't hit the sack less than a month after they thought I was eaten by zombies.
And yeah... Lori isn't off the hook here either.

I should find out what my husband thinks of Shane as he hasn't read the books, so he'd have a more unbiased opinion.
Of course he's already quoted the schmuck (Shane, not my husband) once this week... caught me leaving the kitchen light on... So maybe I don't really want to know what his opinion of Shane is in the long run. Ignorance is bliss as they say.
