Thank you everyone for getting in your character sheets. They all look great!

Hopefully by the time I go to bed this should be ready for you to start adding in all of your talents!

Professor O'Leary
Director's Office
Week 1 - Monday early afternoon

Professor O’Leary’s office sat on the end of a southern facing hall. In the center of the room a massive mahogany desk spoke of her position, and perhaps her ego as well. It was bathed in the colored light that filtered down through the stained glass window behind it. The image worked into the lead and glass was that of an angel spreading her wings over a battle.

She sits not behind the desk but in front of it where several high backed chairs are pulled around a small coffee table. A silver service carries fragrant hot tea in it, four cups have been poured, but the one that Professor O’Leary brings to her lips has a scent of something harder than just tea brewing in it.

“Welcome to Redwyrm. Two new students in one day, such a treat. This way I won’t have to repeat this speech more than once. We are not your babysitters here, we are your teachers, and we intend on teaching you how to be great adventurers. After graduation you should be prepared to slay dragons and gather rewards for your efforts. Whether you use these skills for good or evil, or what rewards you demand for your efforts will be up to you, we teach the skills, not the morals. It is important that you listen to the professors, not everything here is fun and games, some of it may be life threatening if you do not listen to instructions.

That being said we do hope you enjoy your time with us.” She smiles and takes a sip of her tea.

“You call come very varied backgrounds, as do all of our students, you will get along or else. I will not tolerate intolerance.” The turn of words ends with a flash of her pearly whites.

“I shall say nothing further on that. Now to the fun...” Her big bright blue eyes flashed at them.

“As you might know every year we have a tournament against the Griffonwood School of Combat Training. Brutes the lot of them, we like to think of ourselves as something more rounded and cultured than they.” She says rather smugly. “We fully intend on kicking their firm little tooshes if you catch my drift.” A grin and another sip of her tea.

“Professor Tann’Talas is in charge of our team. You will have a class with him everyday where he will work on training you. Right now training is our main focus, but there will be other classes you will be involved in of course…” she waves her hands rather flippantly.

“First though we should get you settled in. The East hall is the dormitories. We have rooms assigned to you…” she paused then and turned toward the door. Next to it the new students would have noticed the full suit of armor, built to fit the lovely female figure that sat before them, standing as if on guard. The noise beyond the door is what seemed to gather her attention though. Voices and the click clacking of shoes to a precise rhythm.

“Kired come in here please!” She called out. The footsteps paused, then rounded toward the door. It opened and a young half elf dipped his head into the room.

“Professor! You called?” He chirped.

“Yes… is that Shadowborne behind you there?”

“Yes sir! We were headed to the cafeteria, looking forward to the gruel they serve us.” Ion grinned.

“Kired… I’m losing my patience with you and your complaints about the food. Now if you and Shadowbane would show these new students to their rooms, and to the cafeteria as well I would greatly appreciate it.”

We have Amaker,” she gestured toward the halfling and then gestured toward the elf that seemed to tower over his fellow new students, “Draka.”

Eventually my dear we will have to have something a bit more... intimate... I think between them.

We did finally have the first picture with the two of them together, now they'll need to touch or something.

Although Cay might not like it too much, she will just have to deal.

But then again the best scene for that might still to be written.

A close up of her holding his dagger to his throat while he tried to heal her wounds would be interesting though come to think of it... hmmmm...

Thealora Justinia
Outside of Vyrrmas’ Gates
Near Dawn

The rain was still drizzling down upon the city. Under a tree near the gates a figured attempted to take some shelter. The distance it stood from the main road seemed to imply that it was also hiding somewhat from the eyes of any who might travel past. However, the figure was draped in a stark white cloak and any thoughts it might have had at hiding were destroyed.

Inside the cloak Thea shuddered and nibbled nervously on a biscuit. Slung over her shoulder was a small bag that held the items she had deigned to bring with her. She was certain that they were not what she actually needed, but she was really unsure what she needed so she supposed it would have to do. One thing she was certain of, she would not go hungry, the front pocket of the bag was stuffed with food. There were biscuits and bits of jerky, fruit and nuts, and the jar of honey from the temple.

What weighed most heavily on her though was the object that was stashed in the front pocket of her cloak. A bright blue gem that was rounded on one side and perfectly flat on the other. On the flat side someone had painstakingly carved the outlines of two hands, palm up. When one placed it on a surface the hands were magnified through the curvature of the stone and seemed to reach upwards toward the one looking down at it.

.~.~.~.

“There you are child…” Widam said with a bit of relief in his voice as he came into her room.

Thealora pulled her head out from under her bed and drug the bag she had been collecting, and through her tears had looked up at him.

“Oh! Father!” she sobbed terribly.

“Thea… my dear child, what is it? Is everything alright? Why are you packing? Is it your parents?” He had closed the distance between them and crouched down on the floor beside her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.

“No… no… Father… it’s so terrible. I… I have to go.” Those huge blue eyes looked into his. “They will say terrible things about me…” Her hands clutched at his. “Don’t believe them! Not a word of it is true! I swear to it, and tell my parents. You must tell them! Please promise me you’ll tell them, that I love them and that it isn’t true… and that I’m doing everything I can to stay safe…”

Widam looked down upon the blathering child in his arms and blinked. “Thealora I haven’t the slightest clue what you are talking about. Who is going to say terrible things about you? What terrible things?” Gently he brushed aside a strand of her shocking red hair from her forehead.

“I saw it! I saw the poster, they are accusing me of magic!” The sobs became muffled against his chest.

“Shhh… there there Thea dear. Surely you have misunderstood something. Come, sleep and we will talk this over in the morning.” He patted her head.

“But I have to go. I have to go now!” she cried emphatically.

It took nearly half an hour but eventually he coaxed the girl to explain what it was that she was blabbering about and why she was leaving. When he had a vague idea of what was going on he had nodded and held her tightly while he tried to calm her. Once she had been calmed down he had helped her finish packing and had laid not further arguments at her feet. Instead he pressed something into her palm just before he watched her leave.

“Keep the Lady with you always dear child.” He whispered.

She opened her palm and stared down at the blue gem “Father Widam… I cannot take this…”

“Take it child. You need her with you more than I in the days to come. Follow her…” He curled her fingers back around the gem and hugged the girl one last time.

.~.~.~.

The biscuit was tasteless she found while she waited, unsure of what it was she truly was waiting for.

Subject: Let's worry about getting in the building now...

There was something most certainly wrong with this. The silence and the red light that hung over them was making her head throb, the sooner they got done with this the better. She listened as Noctus went over the map, and the ‘swordplay’ he had used to get it. Over her veil her eyes rolled slightly at his explanations but she said nothing.

She stood directly behind Crow while they approached the ‘Castle’ and arrow knocked and ready to be fired if necessary.

It was Derry who spoke up first, "Ok, well, it seems we have an idea where to go. Do we go in the front door? It hardly seems likely that if anyone is on watch that they failed to notice our entrance."

She sighed a little. “I would not assume that we are not being watched just because we made it past the bubble. The front door seems a likely point of entry to me, if that map is any good… it appears to be the most direct route to the ballroom where yon” she coughed a little as she spoke the next word, “lady said that the guests would likely be. I still think we should not let our guard down. The fact that no one has openly made notice of our entrance only makes me more antsy… I hope that this red light does not permeate the building, it is driving me insane.”

Under the veil a frown fixed on her lips and she narrowed her eyes, watching the trees and the path ahead of them for any sign of movement. Part of her nervous that it might be an attack, and part of her hopeful to find something besides themselves that was still alive.

Admiral tried to run it here once, we got a few pages into it and then he had to stop b/c of RL stuff.

It's really crazy.

The first rule is that you cannot read the rules if I recall correctly.

It's still up... going to Ady's profile is probably the easiest way to find it... if you are ever bored some Saturday night and want to check it out.

One day I need to find a table top group to play it with, I think it would be entertaining live.

Oh... I lose.

Actually one my favorite movies by/starring him, isn't Shakespeare, its Dead Again. I'm actually looking forward to watching all like 5 hours of his Hamlet next weekend though! That's right I'm making a date with Ken and the Bard. And I'm rambling again... sorry... ))
