Subject: Comics? Huh?

not really knowing anything about Comics, I will have to simply say that whoever owns Hellboy. I think that's Marvel. The first movie was fantastic, a glorious expedition into the philosophical question of 'what makes a man?' from the view point of christian philosophers such as St. Augustine... brilliant. I only hope the sequel lives up to my expectations. Not to mention Hellboy is cute... and loves kittens so he's like my all time hero.

Burton or Spielburg?

Well... Before Zeus began his campaign of sleeping with just about every human girl he could find he had actually fallen in love with a pig and was having a rather odd romance with it. When Hera found out she blew a gasket and decided to curse the pig. The best curse she could come up with was the curse of tastiness, therefore the humans would slaughter not only the pig Zeus loved but all the other pigs in order to eat it's tasty little hind quarters. This would end the romance wit that pig and all other pigs. It did work, Zeus left the pigs to the pig farmers, but then he moved onto maidens and hero's wives, and Hera went about cursing all of them too, it's amazing she had any free time at all with all that cursing.

Okay... Trapse is not a word according to Dictionary.com, and I couldn't figure out how to say that word to figure out a rhyme for it. Did you perhaps mean Trapeze?
If you did I shall rhyme it with:
ease
(I know that's a chicken way out but it's all I could come up with!)

It is alright with me if we wait until Friday to officially start. I'm just sitting here chilling...

Btw, Thea says she would be honored to get to use Balthamos as her steed, blushing as she says it with her sweetest of smiles.

I am just about finishe reading Umberto Eco's Name of the Rose and it is simply amazing. I own the movie, and Sean Connery does an amazing job of playing William, and for years have been telling myself I'd read the book, especially after my Medieval Philosophy teacher spoke so highly of it, and have finally gotten around to it. It is not an easy read... but it is delightfully funny at times, and the rest of the time it really makes you think about religion and life, death and our preceptions of the world around us. So I highly recommend this book.

Subject: Reviews

Duncan, I also happen to be a huge fan of 13th Warrior, it is an amazing film.

Recently also saw Untracable like many others here. I enjoyed it for the suspense, and the creativeness the killer has, always enjoy it when the movie guys come up with horrific ways of killing off people, and the deaths themselves (in my opinion at least) were pretty realistic (not for those with weak stomaches).

I'm currently working my way through The Hours again(had to stop it when my step daughter came home... didn't think a five year old was ready for that one yet). It was weird watching it while I was ironing and getting ready for a small fathers day get together with the whole 'hostess' theme going on... really makes you think about where you are in life and what it all means, and hopefully you end up with a happier conclusion than most of the characters do

Glad to hear someone liked the Hulk, my husband is trying to convince me to go see it with him...

Subject: Thealora - The Cleric

Appearance

She is a slight delicate little thing. Standing barely over five feet, with strawberry blonde hair, tanned skin with a dusting of freckles and bright green eyes. Usually garbed in pastel colored robes tied at her waist with a simple rope and sandles on her feet.

History

Thea has spent her life in the arts of healing. Recently these arts have been more and more important in her world, as the evil Druidess rises to power so do the bodies lying under her feet. Cloistered in the protective embrace of her temple Thea has lived a rather uneventuful life, until now. The bodies and blood that daily arrive at the temple for strength and healing have become too much for her to bear. She has decided to join the group of heros that go to oppose the Druidess, not for the gold or for the glory, but because it is the right thing, and because she knows the journet for the heros will not be easy and they could likely use her skills along the way. She fears combat in any sense, having never been in it, but only having seen the terrible aftermath. However, she will try to bravely face her fear in order to return peace to her home.

Well that would be the intro to my character. Hope you enjoy her. I would guess that if she had met any of the other characters before it was to assist in healing something for them, perhaps that was even how she found out about the campaign... but if anyone else is interested in having that be part of the background just let me know, or if you have some other cool idea let me know that too. Looking foward to helping kick some evil druid tooshy!
M.

well if by tv you actually mean cable... hands down tv. I'd lose nothing since I don't have cable (and we can't pull anything in with our crappy antenna) but if you mean tv by the big black thing in my living room... well that is hooked up to the computer so it would take out both and that would be really sad.

Well done or mooing?

Subject: A Storm in Catoble Pass

It started with a lightning storm off in the distance, above Mount Craig. Nestled into the Catoble Pass deep in the rocks of the Venture Mountain Range a small village of peasant dirt farms watches as the lightening storm approaches. After two days it reaches them and without any warning the skies open up and torrential rain falls from the heavens, turning their precious dirt into mud and threatening to flood the whole pass.
Each day brings more and more rain and more and more mud, until finally a group of men rises up and decides to venture toward Mount Craig and determine what has started this horror of nature.

Vitamin water is alot like apple juice. They gather up all the vitamins (this takes a military convoy to do as the vitamins are resistant to being gathered), shove them all into a vat and then stomp them to death. During this process the small amount of water in them seeps out and is collected by imps who put it into non-biodegradable plastic bottles for retail sale. This is also why vitamin water is so expensive, not only do we need to pay the military for their time (and all the ammunition they use) but vitamins have very little water in them so it takes thousands of squished vitamins in order to fill up one bottle.

If I like the person... I'd rather be honest and tell them truth.

If I don't like the person... I'd lie and tell them they look great, and have them love me, and then laugh behind their back.

or
Smaller, off the wall location, costumes, whiskey, non-tradtional wedding?

My aunt had to have a large part of her skull removed earlier this year after a fall caused her brain to swell, and today of all days she is scheduled for the surgery that will replace the missing bone with cool space age plastic molded fake bone... So I am keeping my fingers crossed today that there is no real reason to be fearful of the date. I don't really believe in such things, but hey it's better safe than sorry right?
