Vesper,
Everyone else seems to have questions so I'll jump in too. Just to clear up before we get completly involved what are your rules on us posting actions especially in combat, rolling, etc...
I know it is common for the DM to do most of the rolling in the forum setting but I wanted to get your guidelines for this game.

Especially since your starting us off with bullets whizzing over head

Gotta go with shake. It is much more fun and much less repeatative (if I'm looking for repeatative functions I just go to work).
Besides I get into shaking and that cute butt of mine looks very nice when I shake it

Ohh... Phaser! No wait, that might be a bad idea... but it would be fun, for me.

Rappers should not be allowed to cover other songs. Although on the other hand they are sometimes their better songs, since they didn't actually write it... hmm... to allow rappers to bastardize songs because they are better than the crap they come up with themselves usually, or allow songs to stay in their much better original form only... such a conundrum... maybe we should just phaser all the rappers and solve the problem that way...

btw... more randomness Tarantino is a genius.

((I'm listening to a strange mix of music, the last song was by Eminem a cover of 'Sing with Me' and now it is part of the soundtrack to Kill Bill v1, so this isn't completly random... ))

I personally am not certain what the exact requirements are for winning, so I am never sure if I am or if I'm losing colassally... (and someone should probably teach me how to spell that word, it's a cool word but not nearly as impressive since I can't spell it... *shrug*)

Lelain sighed heavily as the ship finally landed in the hanger. This was not their intended landing spot, but the ship had taken too much damage after the explosion and would not have made it to the other location. This had worked in a pinch, and so far at least it seemed it was safe.

She settled back down into the chair and rested for a little while. Letting herself dream of being home again, but it was only a dream, this was reality. Opening her eyes she noticed she was alone. The droid could be seen out the window of the plane, already working diligently on organizing repairs and assessing the damage. Quilla she could not see at the moment, which might be better, she did not have much to say to the gunner.

Standing up she moved to smooth out her outfit and noticed the damage to it. The phaser burn marks burned holes in several places through the cloth, dark red stains that she knew had to be her own blood soaked into what was left of the cloth. Curiously she pulled out her shirt and took a look at the wounds, they were just small scabbed over holes in her smooth skin, still tender to the touch, but not dangerous, not anymore. Her first two actions would have to be to talk to the droid and find herself some decent clothing to change into.

Rising slowly she made her way out of the cockpit and then out of the ship. The droids bustled around her, and welding sparks flew off to the far right of her vision. Nodding in approval she made her way to a small metal chest on one of the walls, there used to be jump suits in there for the mechanics, not what she wanted to wear at all, but at least it wouldn’t be covered in blood and burns. She opened the chest and rummaged around until she found a blue suit, then found a spot of relative privacy behind some large empty containers and changed into the suit. Balling up her old clothes in her arms she ducked out from behind the containers and searched the hanger floor for K8.

Spotting her little purple stripes Lelain walked toward her.

“Um… Kate… I wanted to say thank you. If it wasn’t for you I’m certain I’d be dead right now. I owe you a great deal and so does my kin.” She then bowed formally to the droid, and even with the bundle of ruined clothes in her arms, the ridiculous mechanic’s jump suit, not to mention the surroundings she still looked almost regal with her movements and demeanor.

Slowly she rose again, and looked over the ship. The conversation drastically switched to something else. That was Lelain, she said thank you, she meant it and now it was time to get to the task at hand. “So how does she fare? Will we be able to depart soon?”

There was more on her mind than just the ship, but she would not bring any of it up, that was also Lelain.

Kitty smoothed out her fur slowly with a ripple of her back muscles and looked straight at Alex. That hadn't gone as she had intended at all, so much for pretending to be a cute little fluff ball and just live on tuna her whole life.
She took a whiff of the scotch as he wagged at her.
"Chet used to drink that stuff. I think I'll leave that liquor to you. You actually remind me alot of Chet, was thinking of him back in your place, but Chet was happy... you on the other hand..."
She let her eyes move back to where the lighthouse had dissapeared into a building.
"Didn't you used to be a cop? There was a nice picture of you in a blue uniform back at your place. Some girl, with essence oozing out of her very pores goes running like mad across the parking lot and its not your concern? Alright, I get it... those guys really got you all twisted up huh? But hey I'm just a cat, and your My Human, and because of you I'm rather drained on essence myself at the moment, so... I guess we'll just sit here and either wait for the jewrely man show up so you can have a little fun tonight or wait for the girl to start screaming."
And with that she stretches languidly on the dash board and stares out the windsheild.

((Note: Her accent... she's had a rather varied history, so her speech does not take a up any one accent but rather has bits of several. The strongest would be southern, but she also has influences of english and swedish. And then there is the issue that she's a kitty... so she has a tendency to roll her rrr's like she's purring, which gets worse when she is actually pleased with something.))

He was really good in that. Of course the scissor scene always kind of over powers the rest of my memories from that film.
You know I've never been able to get through that book, tried several times, just kept loosing interest. *shrug* Read the Shining like six times, but can't get through the Dead Zone.
Tis only a small part really but I gotta say I think the bit Walken did in Pulp Fiction is probably one of his all time best. How he did that scene with a straight face is still beyond me.
And then there was that music video he did dancing all over the place, which he really can do, was big on broadway for a long time... He's so cool.

Topic: A Ranting Meri
Subject: Organic Vegetables

Well lets start with a fun one.
A collegue at work just found out that I have some digestive problems and was asking what I do to help prevent troubles. Of course in their asking about my health they cannot simply just ask what I am doing and offer their good happy positive thoughts they must also put in their two cents. One of these cents happened to be the suggestion that I should eat more organic vegetables. Partly because they don't cause cancer (this is coming from a man who smokes... which is an entirely different rant in and of itself) like aspertine (or however you spell that fake sugar crap) does.
Which I nodded and said I should, and the conversation ended and I got to thinking about organic vegetables.
If organic vegtables are in fact organic it implies that there are inorganic vegetables out there somewhere. Which begs me to ask.... WHERE? I believe that one of the intrinsic virtues of vegetables is that they are in fact organic, of living mattter, and not rocks. My teeth might not like sugar but I can testify from personal experience that they prefer sugar to rocks. I realize that this is a matter of semantics, and semantics do not discredit the actual qualities of an 'organic' vegetable, however it still drives me nuts. All vegetables are organic, if your vegetable is made with some superior process to the rest find a better term to use to qualify that for me.
Secondly... my understanding of what an 'organic' vegetable is (and granted I am not a farmer, never have been and God willing never will be) that it is grown up on a happy little farm where they don't use pesticides and other 'man made' things that might be radioactive or carcinogenic, nor are the vegetables somehow genetically manipulated by scientists to be bigger, stronger and better, and potentially radioactive. So if we aren't spending tons of money on toxic chemicals or expensive man made seeds why do these 'organic' vegetables cost so much!!??
Honestly, it is probably a conspiracy. The people who probably need to eat the vegetables least, people with money and thus good health care, can afford to buy them, while small children and people with bad or no healthcare cannot afford to eat them and thus will die of radioactive poisoning. Screw you bourgious and your organic vegetables too! I'll just eat rocks!
Finally, I swear this veggie tale will end (and maybe some day those stupid singing chirstian veggies will too), isn't it strange to anyone else that the majority of people (my coworker included) who dance around telling all of us that we need to buy 'organic' food or die happen to be democratic? And that it is also the democratic party in America at least that is also jumping up and down about the current recession and unemployment rates in this country, and are offering all these social welfare programs up as solutions to this problem? All the while trying to get rid of 'inorganic' foods and thus eliminating jobs all over the country at places like pesticide and fertilizer factories, at science institutes that are busy working on the bigger, badder, cooler mutated seedlings, etc....
Oh wait and one more thing... is any of this related to the obscenely large numbers of obese people in our country? Maybe our concern shouldn't be what ear of corn is best for us, but simply that we should be eating an ear of corn instead of a big mac.
