I've been away from the Inn for a while, so I thought I'd create a thread to say hi. Now, isn't that thoughtful?

I've only been checking rdinn periodically of late, and didn't realise DM was so ill.

I'm so sorry to hear that, and do hope she pulls through.

Erk, I didn't even notice I had got to 1200. Congrats to Loki for 1300!

And, well hopefully the big bad will have his attention diverted with a well-placed blaster bolt.

“Pff…some of these shell-heads could do with a low-carb diet,” Ara huffed as she wriggled free of the portly, and now-dead, Stormtrooper that had fallen on top of her.

Unfortunately, things were about to get a lot worse.

She was still dusting off clone-gore from the armour she was wearing when she heard a strangled gargle from Ithiria, and locked eyes upon the last Imperial left standing in the cargo bay. He stood a picture of triumph and dark glee, chortling as the Twi-lek girl clawed desperately at thin air, in a vain attempt to try and draw the breath that was being denied her.

“Let’s see you laugh at this!” Ara suddenly bellowed, taking aim with her pistol at the officer’s head.

OOC: Ara’s slipping out from the ST, standing up and having a shot (or two) at the big bad. Not sure if that’s two rounds’ of actions or two.

Well to paraphrase Han Solo: 'Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster'. (I hope!)

Will most likely post tomorrow. It's been a while so hard to get back 'in character' (if that makes sense).

It was easy. A narrowing of the eyes, a couple of light pushes on the trigger, and, like a teenager catching a whiff of a barmaid’s apron, they collapsed, unmoving. Except they were not drunk: they had been living and breathing beings; and now they were dead.

‘Clones,’ Ara reminded herself. ‘Just clones….’

The Imperial Officer leading the squad seemed to agree. “Useless clones!” he bellowed, with a wave of a hand in Ara’s direction.

If she had longer she might have waved back…or waved her middle finger at least. As it was, the hoversled she was riding, reared and capsized, and the lithe Arkanian was thrown headlong into a repair droid.

“Ow,” she murmured, thankful at the poor workmanship that had seen the duraplast plating on the droid splinter rather than her bones. “Guess I’m lucky it wasn’t one of the ones I used to work on…” she added soon after, to one in particular. She did not know why. The time they had was ticking away, Maya had yet to show, and Ara quickly realized she no longer had her blaster carbine.

‘Guess it’s time for plan…umm…Q,’ she decided, reaching for the blaster pistol she had stolen a short time ago, and narrowing her eyes in concentration.

OOC: A couple of rounds worth of posts I suppose. Stand up from prone, draw her pistol, and shoot at the bad-ass officer dude.

*Blinks*

Wow, that's a surprise. I honestly didn't expect this game to get going again, or for a giant rat beast thing to show up.

I will try and post as soon as I'm able.

Bit too late to say this now, but I do think running out of the cargo bay and back into the station proper is insane.

I'm far from a military expert, but we did have a prepared position we could have forced them to come through. And, they are completely out of range of the blaster cannon until they try to come through the doorway.

“Oh frack,” Ara murmured, not for the first time that day. Her pale Arkanian eyes had caught the maddened glint in Ithiria’s green orbs, and, sure enough, the Twi-lek had run off to single-handedly take on a whole station full of Stormtroopers.

‘Makers only know how these Jedi managed to hang around for so long…’

Ara rolled her eyes. Now she was at it: believing the delusional Twik was a holovid superhero.

‘Must have been something Karra put in that serum…’ she hoped, aiming the large cannon she was manning somewhere in the vicinity of the cargo bay doors.

Well started playing it yesterday and...wow.

It's similar to Mass Effect, but they've up-ed the character interaction and story a notch.

I'm not a huge gamer, but I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dragon Age Origins (the new rpg from Bioware). All the teasers and reviews have made it sound a truly phenomenal game: where glitzy graphics have been discarded for amazing storytelling and character interaction.

Does anyone own a copy yet? Does it live up to the hype?

Well hopefully we can lock them out for a while to 'wind down the clock' as it were, before having to open fire.

Of course that's up to Kitty..ermm, Karra.

The medicinal serum swept quickly through the blues of Ara’s veins, re-knitting flesh and re-generating scorched skin wherever it went. Within seconds it had done its work and more, leaving Ara feeling better than she had in weeks.

“Wow,” Ara mouthed, the syllable coming out in a tinny whisper through the heavy stormtrooper’s helmet she still wore. “That’s some good stuff. You should bottle it and sell it. Seriously,” she added to Karra, with an experimental flex of an arm.

“Get the door!” a voice suddenly bellowed.

Ara rolled her eyes in irritation at the demanding Twi’lek, Hako’ib, as she followed the shout to its source. Her expression softened, however, when she saw him cradling the badly wounded form of Ithiria.

“Guess you got some another customer for your magic mojo,” Ara muttered to Karra with a point towards the pair of Twi’leks. “I’ll crack that door.”

A few seconds later, Ara was staring at the door to the security station, her discarded helmet now propped up against the form of the Imperial officer she had earlier felled.

‘Eww…hat hair,’ she thought, catching sight of her reflection in the smooth hardened durastseel of the door. Her long white hair had been tied in a bun to fit it into the tight confines of the helmet. It was now tightly compressed against her sweaty scalp, and marked by the angular curves that defined the stormtrooper’s regalia.

“Maya, are you there?” she ventured into the comm-link the Alderaanian woman had given them. “If you are, we could do with a way out of the hangar on Blue Deck. Preferably something ship-shaped and with the ability to out-run a TIE Fighter or two. Oh…and we’ve secured your cargo too.”

The only response that came from the device, however, was a static burr. “That’s not good,” Ara concluded, tucking away the comm-link and reaching once more for her security kit.

“Let’s hope she comes through. If not, we’ve got a fight on our hands,” she offered to the her companions over her shoulder, even as her hands busily tried to overcome the lock.

OOC: Same deal as before. Ara will use force points and/or ‘Determination’ on our Mechanics check.

Yes apparently we have to contact her after the cargo/forzen-in-carbonite-agent is secured.

So presumably she would provide an escape route. I'm just not wholly convinced that she can!

I think if we kill of the captain, then the remaining STs should fall pretty quickly.

Once that's done, Ara can try and open the door and Hako'ib should maybe man the cannon?

We'll still have to get the frozen agent inside the ship and try and get it started (a job for Ara I suppose). That's unless Maya comes up with another escape plan.

And healing is always good. Thanks!

Posted at last. Sorry for my flakiness over the past fortnight.

There's no way Ara can risk going for the door right now. She won't be able to manage it until we finish off the remaining STs.

Ara slumped against the container behind her, trying wearily to focus the muzzle of her blaster at the Stormtrooper Captain barking orders. But try as she might, she couldn’t manage it. The Captain swam in and out of focus, and her gun circled lazily around the blurry form like a mynock investigating a lit plasma torch.

Come on girl, focus!’ she told herself, willing away the dull ache of the blaster bolts that her suit of armour had only partially absorbed.

To her surprise it worked. The carbine no longer felt quite so weighty in her hands, and her target returned to crystalline clarity.

“This one’s for, Dil,” she whispered as she swiftly pulled the trigger.

OOC: Spending two swift actions to activate her feat ‘Shake it Off’, and then aiming and firing at the Captain. If he’s partially concealed from where Ara is, she’ll make use of the talent ‘Keen Shot’ to negate any penalties.
