Does anyone know how to convert multiple word files into the same pdf (on a Mac)?

I'm hoping someone more computer literate than me out there knows the answer. For the moment it has me stumped!

Ara will happily use another force point for any untrained deception checks. She'll probably need to, I think.

In the confines of the large, white helmet she wore, Ara blinked. And then blinked again. Unfortunately the stormtroopers staring back at her didn’t disappear into a happy, dream-like fog.

‘Oh, frack,’ she thought, cursing the ill-fate that had led her to being alone, inside Stormtrooper armour, and with the stolen possessions of an Imperial Officer inside a shoulder-pouch. ‘I wonder if that’s a shooting offence or a drop-you-naked-inside-the-belly-of-a-sarlacc-job…’

“Your comm unit not working?” one of the Stormtroopers probed gruffly, shattering her nervous train of thought. Harnell just called us all back to the station. Something about supicious cargo in the hangar. Let’s go!”

“Uhh…guess not…” she replied, quickly dropping her voice down several octaves after the first syllable escaped her mouth. “Been playing up all shift,” she improvised with an exaggerated shrug, even as her hand surreptitiously activated the comm device Ithiria had lent her.

“So what do you think the hangar crew found in the hangar? Must be pretty bad if we’re all to go there,” she inquired, even as she gripped her carbine with renewed purpose and prepared to follow her Stormtrooper ‘comrades’.

‘With any luck the others will have heard that and get the message…otherwise we’re fracked,’ a voice in her head chimed, before adding: ‘well more fracked than we were before…’

Ok no worries. I'll go with two holoprojector cylinders and the lightsaber.

No worries, Loki. I wasn't too bothered by it.

I don't think money will be much of a problem. Unless your character is wearing armour there isn't too much to buy that costs a lot.

Umm, yeah you'd have a point were it not for the fact that both Ara and Hako'ib have exactly the same attack bonuses.

And, of course, that Ara has it among her belongings and the Twi'lek doesn't.

Yes that's what I figure. Ara will take a look at it later when she has a chance to disassemble/examine it. Until such a time though she'll stick with using her pilfered carbine.

Meh, too late.

Seriously though it should only take Ara 10 mins to get down again (providing she isn't stopped unexpectedly), and 10 mins for us to get up again.

The extra 10 mins is wiggle room if something goes wrong.

Ara doesn't actually have a comlink, but I figure maybe Ithiria lent her hers temporarily.

It's not important anyhow.

“Wow,” Ara whispered, her fingers stroking the length of the lightsaber hidden away among Krev’s possessions. “Looks a lot smaller than in the holovids I wonder if it still…”

The comlink that had been pressed into her service suddenly burst into life. “Get down here now,” it crackled, in the sibilant tones of Hako’ib.

“Yeah…yeah…didn’t your mother ever tell you not to rush a Lady?” she whispered back urgently, even as she cleared out the three draws, save for the medals and the pistol. After a moment’s hesitation, she swapped the pistol for one of those that hung by her waist. ‘I’ll take a closer look at it later’ she promised herself.

With the deed done, she carefully planted the explosives and the timer, resisted the urge to peek inside the containers, and quietly left.

‘It’s not as if I’d be able to carry them anyway,’ she reasoned.

OOC: She’ll try and leave in as stealthy a fashion as possible, before assuming a near-approximation of a Stormtrooper’s swagger. The timer will be set for 30 minutes.

So I guess a 30 minute timer will be best. It will give us time for Ara to get down and for us all to get back up again, even if there are a few minor delays.

Anyone agree/disagree? Still a few hours before I get around to posting.

How long did it take Ara to get up to Blue Deck?

I figure the timer should be set so that it encompasses the time taken to journey down and then back up again. Otherwise we'll be cut off if the explosion disables the elevators as an automatic fail-safe.

‘Bingo,’ Ara muttered inwardly, as the lock clicked open. Without another thought, she detached her descrambler, slipped inside, and entered the office.

It was everything she thought it would be: gaudy, full of tat, and deeply unoriginal. ‘Guess all these Imperial types have the same stylist,’ she thought caustically, half-remembering the offices of the Moffs and Imperial agents she had once trawled through. She had been a lowly spacer rat, merely tagging along as her Captain delivered some cargo or collected his payment. But even then she had noted they always had somewhere to hide away their valuables. A hidden safe, the narrow crack behind a picture frame, or…

‘A locked draw in the desk? Neilson, I’m disappointed…’ she thought with a cat-like smile, as she proceeded to break into the desk and pilfer its contents.

[OOC: Unless the lock is too hard to bypass]

With the deed done, Ara headed to the corner of the room, planted her explosives to maximize their blast radius on the wall behind, and hid her work surreptitiously with the duraplast canisters nearby. And then, she left.

She'll take the carbine and leave the shoulder bag with the others for now. Since she'll head back down to meet them again soon.

Slight amendment to Ara's equipment. She'll shove most of the rest of her stuff into a shoulder pack, including the stun grenades.

Except for the blaster carbine she picked up ages ago. If she's now a Stormtrooper she may as well make use of the privilege by re-assembling the illegal weapon and making use of it.

The lift whirred monotonously and the lights within it faded from white to black and then back again as Ara slipped by each floor. The suit she now wore was uncomfortable, her nerves were frayed, and she was unsure whether the plan they had all come up with was a stroke of genius or just plain crazy.

“Probably both,” she decided in, what tried to be, a gruff Stormtrooper-esque grunt. It came out as an ineffective, meek meow. “I obviously lack that stick-up-the-ass quality they so prize.”

“Ping!” the lift finally squeaked. It doors swung open onto Blue Deck, and Ara was left face-to-face with a pair of Strormtroopers.

‘Oh frack,’ she thought, suddenly alarmed. But rather than reach for their weapons, the loyal servants of the Empire nodded respectfully, as one soldier to another. Ara walked stiffly walked by them, still unused to the cumbersome nature of the armour. But again no one noticed. Everyone it seemed looked away whenever her gaze fell upon them, out of fear, or respect, or most probably both. Except of course the other Stormtroopers she passed who nodded or came to a quick salute.

‘Hmm…I think I could get used to this. Except for the smell…and the fact I’ll have to pee in a tin can…,’ she thought, even as she waved friendlily at the latest saluting shell-head passed her.

Sadly, or not, there were no more Stormtroopers when she rounded the corner and entered the corridor with the offices. What there were grandiose plaques – well one grandiose plaque, one that was not so grand, and another that looked like scribbled ravings of a wookie in heat.

‘Aril Tevv, Chief of Ops…hmm,’ she mouthed wordlessly as she walked down the corridor. ‘Trent Horbin, fellow techie…that rules him out. …And Krev Neilson, Imperial lackey. Congratulations Mr. Nielson, we have a winner. First prize is a one way ticket to who-the-hell-cares….’

Ara looked carefully around the deserted hallway, reached for her gizmos of her security kit, and prepared to make merry hell.

OOC: Mixture of skills at the end. Bit of stealth to avoid being seen (or avoid it being seen what she’s doing), perception to note any potentional alarms etc., and mechanics to bypass the lock. She’ll make use of her racial skill, Determination, to try and ensure it all goes smoothly, and force points if need be.

Sorry I didn't post earlier. Been busy over the last few days.

It's a bit of a risk, but Ara will go up alone, if only to scout out the possibility of planting some explosives. If (as seems likely) the offices are occupied (which you can tell from outside?), or there's security cameras etc. inside the offices, we might have to reconsider.

And she'll take two blaster pistols (since I plan for her to dual wield at some stage).

The problem with the maintenance hallway or the bar as a place to plant the explosives is that Ara is the only one with the skill to do it. And it would be weird for a Stormtrooper escorting a prisoner to take a detour.

I think the offices are a good choice, since it would make more sense for her to be there. Plus there's little chance of any non-Impys being caught up in any explosion there.

Oh and let's not worry about the safe.

Yes, agreed.

I think the options are:

a) We try and bluff our way into the hangar if, as likely, it's restricted access (past any guards or whatever is there). Ara could say that Karra is for a prisoner transport or something.

b) We blow a hole into the hangar and start blasting.

c) Reralae's suggestion which would work well I think.

Problem with that is we'd have non-STs in the cross-fire. Ara, personally, would not want to kill any one who's not a soldier.

Well we have explosives and could use it to blow a hole in the office wall. The problem would be that we'd immediately have to start firing as soon as we're in the hangar.
