"HEY! Over here! I got a man down and I can't move these beams!" the Doc shouted.

Andrew heard someone cry out … he got up from the ground again and turned towards the sound and headed in that direction… the man down might just be Ash…

“This way Wolf!” he ran towards the direction of the yell…

Seeing the man near a pile of rubble he ran up … he didn’t know this man… but he didn’t look like a deputy … probably one of the towns folk…

Seeing the man trying to move some of the rubble… Andrew holstered his guns and carefully moved among the debris yelling out to try and locate who he hoped was Ash…

“Ash? That you? Yell out if you can hear us.”

He started to move the rubble tossing it out of the way… having Wolf help him with any larger pieces…they had to hurry… they didn’t know if there were any deputies about… but he doubted it… seemed they had gotten them all… now all they had to worry about was the Sheriff himself… and he was probably at the mine setting the trap for Wyatt and the others… they had to find Ash and get up to the mine and help out…

The Destiny

Ken had remained relaxed as the airlock cycled and let the Marshalls and Alliance stooges come aboard… seeing the voluptuous Vasquez come in put a smile on his face… while the Marshall Captain spoke to Destiny Captain he leaned on the wine barrels and kept his eye on Vasquez… when he caught her eye he winked at her again and his smile broadened…

When the Alliance squads went to search the ship he stepped forward and volunteered himself..

“This ship can be a bit twisty….” he said to the Captain… “if you don’t mind I can escort you men… and woman… and show them every area…”

If allowed he will make sure to accompany the squad with Vasquez… staying close to her and doing exactly what he said he would do… escort them and show them each area … he did nothing to prevent them from searching… he just followed along and stayed close to Vasquez…

When they came around to the crew quarters and were searching his room he leaned on the door and graced Vasquez with another of his charming smiles…

“That is ‘my’ bed…” he gave her a wink …

Upon returning to the cargo bay… or if he wasn’t allowed to accompany them… he spoke to Vasquez as she passed him to leave the ship…

“I wanted to say you look wonderful in black…” he gave her his most charming smile… “maybe we can have a drink sometime… when you’re off duty.”

Once the outer airlock door closed he sighed and looked at the others and shook his head…

“Ok can we get out of here now?”

Walking over to Jon he inclined his head towards the guest quarters…

“Doc found something you should see in the Companion’s former room..”

He lead the way to the stateroom where the item was under the bed… getting there he flipped the stuff off into the floor revealing where the case with the blinking light had lain .. (Assuming it is still there..)

Eastern District, mid-morning of the 19th of Chad, 2005

A tall thin man walked out of Alice’s House and looked around the streets of the Merchant District… the man oozed distinction … his clothes were crafted of the finest materials…. A black silk shirt with black brushed leather pants… a black velvet vest with silver buttons … a black cape with silver clasp and chain draped over his shoulders… he wore a fine black hat to finish off his very dark looking visage… it was apparent the man liked black…

The brightest part of his ensemble was his very fine looking swept hilted Rapier that hung from a finely crafted and engraved leather belt harness about his waist… a long thin dagger with a wire wrapped pommel completed his arsenal…

“Count?… Count Rugen.” A man coming out of the establishment behind him called out … the thin man’s brows narrowed as he turned back to face the man… as the man drew up to his the thin man hissed at him bringing him up short…

“I told you…” he said in a voice filled with menace .. “NOT to mention my name…”

“Ah… sorry,” the man said… “but …”

“What part of my instructions do you not understand?” the Count asked…

“Nothing sir… it is just .. I need some … coin to .. Ah… hire the men you require.”

The Count reached inside his cloak and drew out a leather pouch and tosses it to the man, it clinked when he caught it…

“Now… be gone… and remember… the price for failure,” the Count said as he turned and walked on up the street…

He walked a bit before he paused and turned to looked around… he recalled seeing a beautiful young woman had walked into Alice’s just prior to him finishing his business… he was struck by her beauty and the strange alien features of her face… he had only gotten a glimpse of her before she had bought something and left….

Rugen was a man of exquisite taste and he was accustomed to getting what he wanted… he had hoped the woman wouldn’t have gone far… perhaps he could have hired her to ‘play’ for him later… he an interest in music and had noted the case she carried… but it was not only the musical performance that he was interested in… seeing her no where in sight he shrugged slightly and went about his business….

He had further stops to make… he had to put the word out once again to be on the look out for the Blonde woman of extraordinary beauty would had a very distinguishing tattoo of the serpent … if she was still alive as Vernon thought then there was a possibility that someone in Freeport might see her… and if she was not here then the ships leaving port would carry word of her and the large reward offered for her …

He personally would not stoop to going down to the lower docks and spreading the word… he would not be seen in such places… but that is what he paid others for… to deal with the retched lowlifes of the docks…

The reward offered was enough for a person to live the rest of his life as a free man without the need to ever work again… he was sure that if the woman was still out there hiding someplace … the reward would soon draw out word of her as it always had in the past…

Count Rugen didn’t see what Vernon saw in her… yes she was strikingly beautiful… the desire of any man… but she was reluctant to love a man that was not of her own choosing… the Count would have cast her off along time ago… but Vernon was as stubborn as she… though he would never say that to this employer… she wasn’t worth all the effort or the reward that was being offered… already they had spent a small fortune on her … Rugen though that one could have bought at last a dozen women of nearly equal beauty if one was so inclined… he thought that perhaps it was the chase that Vernon relished… he wondered what would have happened if one day the woman had accepted his advances… he doubted it would have lasted… but that was yet to be seen… if it would be…

He strode down the streets of the Merchant Quarter… here and there several people recognized him and knew whom he worked for… they bowed and smiled… he knew that many of them despised him and his position… but they would smile and wave and pretend … he didn’t mind… he knew his place in the world… he would survive…

The Count walked on … he had others to visit… more men to hire… he had a plan which he had discussed with Vernon who had agreed to the idea… nothing was beyond finding this woman… so Rugen had people to see… he had some ‘Special’ operatives yet to hire… he would handle this business personally… it required a more delicate touch … these men were specialist and would require higher payment… but they always delivered results…

Ryan froze for a second… but not as long as last time… this creature was bigger than the last… but the last encounter had expelled some of his nervousness and besides the last one had went down rather quickly… while he doubted this one would fall as fast… he thought this many of them could surround and kill this beast…

The young fighter took a tighter grip on his Rapier and rushed forth… he moved to the side of the creature hoping it might be focused more on someone else so he could get to the side and have a better shot at a vital area… if he could get a flank attack he would lunge with his Rapier aiming for what might be any vital area he could reach…. If the creature decided that he was the target of choice… he would brace himself and when the creature attack he would lunge forward once again ducking low as he thrust his blade forth in a braced lunge hoping to impale the creature upon it…

The beasts didn’t seem to be intelligent and this form of attack worked against human opponents in the past during training… he figured it should work against something that was much shorter on brains and was mostly instinct…

Subject: a quiet night's rest...

Early Afternoon, 24th Sempore (Viladay), 452 E.R.
East of the City of Visden
The Lonesome Traveler, Pardinal

Daldren withdrew two small pouches, and slid them across the table towards Tomas.

"There were no papers of ownership that I could find, but your parents had accumulated a fair reputation, and the wealth that goes along with such amicable respect of service as well as character. I'm glad this will go towards keeping Anna and Kendal's dream alive through another generation. Spend it wisely, and God's willing this place will be back up running and filled with life and mirth anew upon our return trip."

Tomas hefted the larger sack of coins and dropped it back on the table with a meaty thunk… he looked at Daldren and then all of the gathered team… the emotion in his face could be seen in his eyes as they welled with tears…

“You… could have kept this and I would not have known…” he said his voice cracking with pent up feelings… he swallowed hard and wiped his eyes before continuing… “I will not forget this show of trust and good… you are all good people… and whenever you are passing through this area… know that you are always welcome here … you can stay anytime … room and board for free…”

Siraya had no problem making a deal with Tomas for a trade up on her mount… they figured they could use the older horse she had and in turn gave her a younger horse which was trouble when it came to pulling a wagon… she knew the younger horse was worth more but Tomas insisted on a straight trade and would accept no money from her…

The two newcomers decided to throw in with the MV squad… maybe it was for the promise of compensation later or maybe it was for more noble reasons… in either case they saddled up and prepared to leave with the team…

Bil accepted the coin from Tad with a smile… the boy took pride in his work and it showed in the care he gave all the mounts in his charge… the team found all of their horses were well rested and fed and seemed ready to travel…

When they left the Inn… Tomas and Bil stood outside the building and waved to them wishing them well and a safe journey… based on the last 12 hours it was unlikely it would be that safe.

Late Evening, 24th Sempore (Viladay), 452 E.R.
2 Days East of the City of Visden
Eastern Coast Road, Pardinal

The party had found a place off of the road but one that provided a good view of the surrounding area… they settled near a small grove of young oaks… only 4 small trees scattered about… allowed them to set a picket line for their mounts….

They set up camp… a small fire as it was a warm night … it was after all Sempore… time of the Bright Sun… and they and their mounts were tired and hot from the events of the previous night … none of them had gotten a very restful sleep… and they wondered if tonight they would rest easy after dealing with the deaths of the Inn keeper and his staff… the loss of two of their own teammates … though they had not died they felt the absence of them nonetheless …

They ate a simple meal … supplies given to them by Tomas and Bil when they left out… the new owner of The Lonesome Traveler had insisted that they took the supplies of food and water and he would accept no coins in return… even though he had lost his parents and a friend… he thanked the team for at least getting rid of the foul creature that had done it.

The meal of leg of lamb warmed over the fire… some day old bread and cheese… and a couple bottles of table wine made for a very good repast for being on the road… and now as the sun had set… the daylight was waning … the party had settled upon watches for the night…

Daldren had volunteered for the first watch… as the stars started to poke out the rest of the party… except for Seb and Irael … turned in to sleep… being as tired as they were it didn’t take long before the light sounds of snoring and gentle breathing to fill the camp… Seb soon turned in himself leaving Irael to study…

The vigilant warrior rogue was soon pacing the camp along the perimeter keeping a watchful eye … checking the mounts he found them to be resting peacefully… the stars were shining down brightly… a waxing moon soon crested the horizon … brightly lighting the sounding area making it easier to keep an eye open for any problems… he heard nothing beyond a few crickets …

About an hour into his watch … Irael put away his things and entered a meditative trance leaving Daldren the only one still awake…a little while longer he heard a faint noise and whirled towards the source … he found himself gazing upon a small brown hare sitting at the edge of the camp … chewing on a patch of clover as it eyed him back… it seemed unafraid of him until he moved … with a single leap it disappeared back into the taller grass and was gone…

Seeing nothing but a quiet peaceful night around them.. Daldren sat down upon a large stone about half way from the fading campfire and the edge of their little clearing… he yawned… then shook his head… he had to stay awake… it was his watch … at least for a little while… he yawned again and found himself blinking as his eyes tried to shut… it was so uncharacteristic of him to be like this… he took his job seriously and for him to be trying to fall asleep was not to his liking…

Daldren thought that maybe he should stand again and walk off his lethargy … but when he tried to rise he found his muscles didn’t want to respond… instead he slipped slowly off of the rock onto the soft short grass and he drifted over onto his side … as his head came to rest upon the ground his eyes closed seeming far too heavy for him to keep open… in seconds he was snoring softly ….

As he started to snore a lone shadowy figure seemed to meld from one of the trees near their horses… one of the mounts stirred sensing a presence nearby… the shadowy figure reached out a single limb and touched the horse… it quieted … and went back to resting…

The figure stepped out into the moonlight… and if any of them had been awake they might have recognized the figure… it was not one of the shadow dreads … instead it was that of a simple elderly woman of indeterminate age wearing a plain dress of simple weaves… she walked over to where Daldren now joined his companions in restful slumber…

“Fear not valiant one,” she said softly as if afraid she would wake them… “there is no need to watch… nothing will disturb your rest this night…”

She turned to look at the form of Irael in his trance… “You too…” she gestured slightly towards him and he gently fell over onto his side and began to snore…

A faint growl came from the shadows and she turned towards the noise with a frown…

“Hush now..” she hissed … “they will need their rest for what is to come.”

A large black mutt of a dog stepped from the shadows giving her a look of reproach as if he didn’t agree… it walked over towards her… it paused to sniff at Daldren where he lay and then walked over and curled up at the old woman’s feet…

She sat down by the fire… picked up a piece of wood that they had gathered and tossed it on the waning blaze… shortly it was brought back to some semblance of life… she looked about her at the sleeping figures…

“They really have no idea what they are about to face…” she spoke apparently to the dog who raised it’s head and looked at her questioningly… “I think they should learn at least something so they can be prepared…” The dog’s eyes narrowed as if it disapproved of her thoughts…

Ignoring the stern disapproving looks from her furry companion… the old woman sat cross legged on the ground and slowly closed her eyes… the dog grunted and lowered it’s head to the ground as it lay next to her…

The party slept on… unaware that anything was occurring… however as the woman sat silently by their fire … visions began to intrude upon the sleepers slumber… a foggy visage clouded their minds… slowly the fog began to clear and a strange scene was revealed to them…

“THEY COME!” a wailing voice said as the vision became clear… “they still live!”

They saw a pathetic figure laying on a straw filled mat upon a stone floor… it seemed to be a large cavern of some sort… the place was lit by lanterns scattered about the room casting the entire place in a flickering eerie glow… the figure that had wailed was disturbing to look upon… it was a man but not a whole man… the man had no arms or legs… long jagged scars existed where the limbs once grew… the man’s face was revealed and they saw a bald pate with empty sockets where his eyes should be… the figure squirmed and withered on the mat as if it was in some sort of agony as it wailed again…

“They grow nearer!”

Another figure stepped into view.. A robed figure of a man possessing all of his limbs… he stepped close to the mat looking down at the limbless figure… this man seemed normal in a long black robe covered most of his body… yet a strange cloth mask of blue covered his face… eye holes had been cut into the cloth allowing the man to see…

“Tell me brother…” the man said in a weak nasally voice… “are they all still alive?”

“Yes!” the limbless figure wailed again… squirming still as if in agony… “others have joined them…. They are stronger still …. They have banished the dread… and they draw nearer.”

“How is this possible?“ the robed and masked figure said shaking his head.. “the shadow dread should have been able to drain the life from all of them while they slept… how could they have detected it’s presence?”

The wailing, withering figure upon the mat said nothing… it collapsed back onto the mat and lay still….

The robed figure gestured and two other robed figures… these without masks with normal looking human faces stepped from the shadow and approached the mat…

“Take the Seer to his chambers..” he instructed them as they bent down and lifted the light bundle and carried it from sight… “he will need his rest.”

The masked figure turned and he became more clear to the vision… he stood silent for a moment before someone else spoke in the chamber….

“Master?” the voice asked… “what should we do? Should we set another trap along the road? Should we summon another dread?”

“No….” the masked man said shaking his head causing the blue cloth mask to sway… “they will be expecting such and somehow they defeated the dread… perhaps we have underestimated them.”

“What should we do Master?” the underling asked…

“We will prepare ourselves…” the Master instructed his student… “they will go to the village to investigate… we will ready a subject for the Demon Wind… we will deal with them from a distance… they can not protect themselves from that… they have never encountered it… they will be powerless to stop it and to save themselves…”

The vision began to fog over once more… the fog remained and another softer voice intruded upon their minds….

“You face a very dangerous foe…” a feminine voice that sounded familiar to Daldren as that of the elderly woman he met and talked to back at the Inn the night before… “you go to do battle with a evil cult … followers of D’hurgen… the God of Death… the upper members of this cult believes in mutilating themselves in an attempt to bring themselves ‘closer’ to their god… they also believe in sending as many of the non-believers of Audalis to meet their deity as is possible… they are not content to wait till the proper time which all living beings must face Death God…. this particular cult has stumbled upon a long lost dark rite that allows them to summon what is called the “Demon Wind’ … this ‘wind’ acts very much like the dread that you faced… it taps into the shadow realm… on people it starts by sapping the very will to resist… then the will to live… then it sucks the life-force from all living things …it is very dangerous and can destroy thousands if this cult is allowed to continue in their ways… they summon a ‘Demon Wind’ by sacrificing an innocent victim … the sacrifice’s life energy feeds the ‘wind’ … … the only way to stop the ‘wind’ once summoned is to slay the sacrifice before the it has had time to grow… some of the villagers of Prilm who were taken prior to the destruction of the village… remain in their custody and are destined to be future ‘sacrifices’ … if the cult is not stopped they plan to start a ‘Demon Wind’ in every major city in Pardinal… starting with Visden… you must find a way to stop them … every last member must be destroyed.”

“Rest now… gather your strength…” the foggy vision began to fade… and the voice fades as well…. “for a great battle lies ahead of you… do not fail… for the fate of thousands of innocent people rests in your hands”

The vision fades slowly into darkness….

Sunrise, 25th Sempore (Thirkday), 452 E.R.
2 Days East of the City of Visden
Eastern Coast Road, Pardinal

The party sleeps until the sun begins to brighten the horizon… simultaneously they begin to awaken… they all slept through the entire night… they rise remembering everything they saw in their ‘dreams’ … looking about the camp everything seems perfectly fine… there is no sign of the strange old woman of their dreams… the mounts are anxiously awaiting to get underway… the campfire has died down to a few fading embers… nothing seems to have been disturbed during the night… and they all feel extremely well rested and energetic this bright early morning…

(OOC: There is the post for the week... enjoy... and make sure you state intentions and perhaps discuss what you all saw and the plan... if you have questions you know how to get ahold of me. )

Subject: ... and now playing the part of the Dastardly Villain....

Freeport, late morning of the 19th of Chad, 2005

“The Rapier?”

“Yes sir..” the underling replied, “Cap’n Tasin deHertsberghe’s Ship..”

“Ah yes…” Vernon Wiles said with a nod… he paced in front of a large window which overlooked the harbor … he stopped and turned to face out the window looking out upon the bay…

“So… you are telling me that his ship along with my ‘cargo’ is missing?” the man said asking for clarification … “cause if that is what you are telling me… you realize that I will not be happy.” Though the words were spoken in a calm tone it was clear that the man was perturbed at what he was hearing…

“ah… yes… yes sir… that is what … I am saying.” the underling trailed off… clearly wished that he didn’t have to deliver this news …

Vernon stood for several moments staring out the windows… finally he just waved his hand dismissively to the underling who bowed and then left the room…

Vernon Wiles stood looking down upon Freeport from his large mansion set upon the hills overlooking the port… everyone around here knew of the man… they knew he was very rich having made a lot of money from taking his inheritance from his Merchant Father and expanding his business into shipping and other reputable trades… what most didn’t know was that he had as many illegal ventures as he did legal ones…. His wealth was sizable…

It wasn’t only his riches … he was a handsome man… few women would contest that… he wore only the finest clothes… his voice was velvet with a hint of a accent that none could place precisely… many said it was his eyes that one could never forget… dark pools of steel blue which seemed to peer into a person and see the deepest parts of your soul…

His wealth and looks only secured his position among the elite of Freeport and the surrounding seas and while he refrained from any direct involvement in the politics of the region it didn’t stop him from keeping a few politicians in his back pocket… it was simple really… every one had a price… the trick was finding it and having the money to exploit it…

Vernon straightened the lace cuffs of his silk shirt… a habit of his as he lost himself in thought… his ‘cargo’ was missing once again… while the Rapier had been reported overdue … he figured that the ship was surely lost at sea… with the substantial reward that he had offered for the return of his property he was sure that Captain deHertsberghe would not tarry with the delivery of that ‘cargo’…

Something had happened… had someone else learned of what he carried and taken it for the reward … possibly… or had the ship simply fallen pray to the pirates that plied these waters… also possible… he didn’t know… but somehow he knew that She was still alive… still out there…

Davian belonged to him… he had bought and paid for her… and he never freely gave away anything that belonged to him… oh she had tried to get away… several times… but he has always managed to get her returned to him…

She was very stubborn he had to admit… she had rejected his advances from the start but he was determined to have her… and her love… he had tried to be reasonable at first… pursuing her… buying her all manner of trinkets… jewelry .. Elaborate clothing… had even built a section onto his mansion to overlook the sea… that she loved… but nothing worked on her… she would not return his love…

In the end he had lost it… he realized that perhaps he could have been a little more patient… but somehow he didn’t think patience would win the day… well he was not to be rejected forever… he had ‘taken’ what he wanted from her… and he had enjoyed it… he was sure that she had not… but by then he was beyond caring if she did or not…

He hated her for forcing him to resort to such measures… he had beaten her several times … all the time telling her how horrible it was that she had forced him to come to this… even forcing him to kill her brother after she wouldn’t listen to him when he asked her to use her abilities to help him… oh she had helped in the end but he had killed her brother anyway… and the entire crew of his ship… he even had the maidenhead of her brother’s ship brought back and hung it in her room as a reminder of the consequences of disobeying him… but disobey again she did by escaping again…

She was so stubborn…

Now she was out there somewhere… he was sure of it… she was either a captive of someone who was after the reward for themselves… or she had been rescued by someone who wanted her for themselves… in any case her feminine wiles just might help her to stay clear of him… well he would see what he could do to counteract what she had to offer with what he could offer…

Stepping to the side table he pulled on a cord hanging from the ceiling… a bell could be heard in the distance… he returned to look out the bay window whilst he waited… shortly the door opened and the underling who had been so unfortunate as to deliver the unhappy news entered…

“Yes sir?” he asked sounding as if he wondered if he would be allowed to live…

“Summon Count Rugen..” Vernon said not bothering to turn to face the man… “I have a job for him…”

The underling bowed and left quickly… happy that he was going to live at least for awhile longer…

The powerful man who was used to getting his way stood there looking out onto the bay… the wharfs below with all the dock rats and sailors scurrying about like insects … as they appeared to him from this height… he wondered… could she be down there… on one of those ships… he doubted it… she knew he was here… and Freeport would be the last place to which she would willingly come…

He would find her again… and if he couldn’t buy whomever might have her then he would destroy them and get her back… but she would be his again… and she would pay dearly for making him take such drastic measures… oh how she would pay…

Finding the gargoyle room empty of any further threats… Brutal sent over to what remained of the dead Germans… he relieved them of any useful ammo and equipment that was not destroyed… taking the Schmessier ammo he handed the Sarge two of the mags and kept two for himself… finding the two potato masher grenades he smiled…

“Probably have good use for these..” he said and tossed one of them to the Sarge and slipped the other into his belt next to where he kept the grenade that Doc had given him… though bullets seemed to work he liked to have some major damage dealers around if necessary…

He remained on guard as the others came into the room… he only spared a glance in their direction before going back to keeping an eye on the exits from the room… so when a clatter of steps was heard he whirled in that direction and leveled his Schmessier… he didn’t fire when he saw it was a man… and not a soldier from the looks of him… a scientist maybe…

"Nicht schießen! Ich bin unbewaffnet." he shouts and then screams again as he loses his footing and tumbles down the stairs to the floor below in a cacophony of screams and thuds. He lies at the bottom, moaning in some pain.

Brutal didn’t understand but a word or two of German… and none of those words were what the man blurted out… but he did understand the universal sign of surrender… the man throwing his hands up in the air… besides the man looked like hell and he didn’t appear to be armed… his tumble down the steps made Brutal chuckle a little bit… but he maintained his focus… the man was running from something… he was more worried about what might be behind the man up the stairwell…

Moving over towards the man… he stopped over by the wall next to the stairwell from which the man had tumbled… he covered up the stairwell with his weapon… he was ready in case whatever the man was running from was closer than it seemed…

(OOC: He isn’t covering the man… he figures the others have him covered well enough… he is using the wall as cover … if anything non-human appears up the stairs he will open fire)

Having joined back up with Doc and Grace in the Cargo bay … having hidden his little ‘toy’ under the deck plates behind a crate… Ken stood up when his comm went off…

“Ken, this is Jason, what did you, Doc, and Grace find?”

Ken keyed his personal comm and replied, “Not much… just some things in the guest quarters that should have been secured better before take off… we can straighten things up after we hit burn.”

After letting off the transmitter key he shrugged to the Doc and Grace, “We have to deal with this first then we can tell them…. I don’t trust transmitting anything about something ‘suspicious’ over a comm channel that the Feds just might intercept.”

He fully planned to tell the others about what they had found… but right now they had to deal with being boarded … then they could deal with the strange thing in the guest quarters… he just hoped that the Feds didn’t delay them too much or insist on searching the entire ship and especially the quarters… if so he would make sure that he accompanied any search parties … in order to guide them of course…

... Brutal took another long drag off his cig and then butted it out with his boot... hefting his Schmessier he fell in with the Sarge to move into the room they had just vacated to check it out further... he stayed slightly behind and to the right of the Sarge... making sure not to sweep him with the muzzle of his gun...

His eyes checked out every corner... especially the high areas from where their last horrors had come... he let the Sarge do his thing and check out everything.. his job was to cover the man incase anything jumped out at them... he was alert and ready.

Fenris and Andrew look to each other in triumph. If the brother survived the gun wound, the crash would have ended him. Just then your communicators light up to Ash's voice “Doc’s on his way; there’s a hurt lady on the second floor and there’s somethun noisy out front. Be careful. I’ll try to cover ya, topside.”

BBOOOMM!

Suddenly the top floor and the lookout tower of the jail explode in a powerful ball of flames. The roadway is littered with debris and wood chips. Electronic feedback squelches across your communicator and then goes silent as a grave.

Andrew instinctively ducked as the explosion went off… after the debris settled he straightened up and made a quick check to see if he was hit… then he turned to look at the Jail… or what was left of it… he glanced at Wolf and he could see the worry in his face… Ash was in there… he said something about ‘topside’ … so he had went up to the roof… but the look out tower was gone… as was most of the second floor…

“Ash?” Andrew asked over the communicator… he waited for a response… looking around the area… maybe he was thrown clear of the building… “Ash come in!”

He started forward towards the Jail… looking for any sign of Ash… and maybe a way into the rubble.

“You bet your sweet a**, I’ll live”, Doc shot back. “This lady has more important things to do than to tend to this sorry crew.” Popping down a hand full of aspirins with a slug of water, Jack looked at Romo’s side to see if there might be a sign of his wound still bleeding. “You taking care of that bandage job of your own? Maybe you should step over here for me check you out. Besides you’re due for some more aspirins yourself.” Doc tossed Troy the card with the remaining eight tablets; “Takes these and call me when the war is over.”

Brutal smirked and spared a glance at Doc… he reached in his shirt pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes… shook one out and popped it in his mouth… he pulled out a match… struck in on a pant leg and lit it up…

“Well… count yourself lucky Doc…” he said as he turned back to keeping an eye out for more ‘things’… “you didn’t patch yourself up… so you just might make it.”

(OOC: Just had an itch to post something… )

Ryan was surprised when the creature drew back and then a stone sailed past him and struck it in the head and the beast went down… he took a step back and turned his head to look at the others…

“That was…. Easy,” he said questioningly… “too easy perhaps?”

He knew he had struck the creature but he expected it to take more than a couple of blows to down it… he approached the beast with the others .. Seeing what looked like a dead thing he poked it again slowly and got no reaction…

“Yep… dead.”

“That’s not the monster that attacked me.” Geron groaned again as he shifted his body. “It looks the same, but it’s too small.”

“But… that has to be it!” Ryan said… “It attacked us and look at that thing… it is repulsive… it has to be the beast”

(Assuming Alyannah speaks of it being a adolescent)

“What?” Ryan asked looking at the creature.. “so … there is probably a larger version out there somewhere?”

He began to look around them as if expecting the creature to spring from the brush at them… he turned finally to look at Geron and asked…

“So… you think the other is around here? If it is… it probably heard this one screeching!”

He kept an eye on the surrounding… his weapons still in his hands… turning slowly in place.

.. yes since Daldren didnt tell anyone what he found then the decision was totally his to make.. and since he gave it to Tomas that matter is settled.

Now.. if there is anything else your Cs want to do before leaving the Inn... then make sure you state it... but remember... there is no place to buy anything here beyond foodstuffs from the Inn...
