If they be zombies I can outrun em! lol

Chris will advance the stairwell slowly, until he can see whatever it is upstairs that's dragging and thumping as it were. The moment he can spot whatever it is if it's anything even remotely not human he'll back down the stairs and away from whatever the hell it is as best as possible.

currently there is no sign of Victor or any other Nightstalkers in the bar.

(But then again you havn't been upstairs)

and Brodeur, by your post it seems you want to target the wraith like creature, but you are downstairs where only the skeletal warrior stands. Am I to assume you'll target that one?

As Chris looks at the photo within the tri-folded paper, the realization that he murder weapons were far too similar to the weapons he bore for mere coincidence made his hands tremble and he dropped the page, watching the photograph float lazily to the floor.

"Jeesum Crow!" He cursed aloud. Pulling the stilleto' from their protective sheathes, he inspected them for any signs of use.

Allowing for comment based on his findings

Deciding he needed more information, he flips through the registry once more, to find the room he was supposed to have been staying in, and resheathing his knives and putting the letter and photo into a vest pocket, hefts his table leg as he looks for the key hook or wherever they might keep the room keys.

"This is getting more than a little wierd" Chris says as he holds the bottomless jar in front of him peering through the top and out the hole of the bottom. He picks up the registry book and flips through it, until he comes across his, and three other names that supposedly checked out on the same date he did. The names on the check out registry matched some of the items he had found in the register drawer, and as he pocketed the registry book and the picture of Del at the Lake, he took to the sealed envelope and sliding his stiletto out from his belt sheath, sliced open the thin layer of glue that held the two halfs of the envelope closed, and looked inside. "Let's just see who you are HP, Harry Potter, or perhaps Hank Preston?"

The night was spent in quiet toil as Thondrek and Loda teamed up to do what Khord's do best; dig. With heavy hearts and strong backs they made communal grave, while others slowly, carefully placed the fallen side by side. The night soon turned into day, and as the sun's golden rays spread out to caress the companions' cheeks Lady Quandilay reappared, a priest of Solanis at her side.

The recital was peaceful, elegant, and as the Sylvari of afar emerged from the woods to join in the harmony of sending their kinfolk onto the next life, Thondrek silently mouthed the words along, giving his respect, but daring not slaughter the enchanting tones of the forest-folk with his own deep rumbling of a voice.

As it ended, and Lady Quandilay presented them with a great reward, Thondrek could only accept it with a bow as he graciously thanked her and receded behind other members of the party.

As the Bladesinger left them for perhaps the final time, Thondrek turned to the others with the simple question ikely resting on all their minds. "So, where to next?"

His head throbbed, a dull sensation in the back of his head as though he had been smacked with something. His vision blurred as well as he pushed himself up on weak arms to a sitting position. His fingers glanced across the wire frame of his glasses, and he picked them up gingerly and placed them upon his nose, blinking away the headache which was still with him.

He took a cursory glance around the room, wondering where he was, but as he stood it occured to him that he remembered very little, only his name and age. He took a quick general inventory of what he had on his person, searching the nearby backpack as we before slinging it on his shoulders.
"No identification, no maps, nothing, what's worse, half of the items one would think would have gone with the others were missing. An Ipod without headphones, not very useful, a cell phone pouch without a cell phone. He was relieved that he still bore a tactical Kevlar SWAT vest, and a pair of black stilleto's strapped to his back.

Having no real idea of 'who' he was beside having a name, he wondered if he was perhaps some sort of law enforcement. Little did he know that aside from almost seven years of martial arts, and a basic introduction to Law and Security at a local community college with a few private gigs of protection or security, he was about as far from a cut and dry officer as it came.

Running his finger through his wild hair, Chris checked his ipod for any hint of his identity, music playlists, videos, that might clue him in to his personality. He couldn't listen to anything at the moment lacking headphones, but perhaps he'd at least have something to look forward to should he find some.

"Feels like I just fell into a Fricken Horror story." he says to none in particular. Moving to the overturned tables, he inspects the wreckage. With a heave, he pulls off a sturdy Table leg as a crude blunt implement, but something was better than nothing. Exploring the room, he finds the words CALL YOUR MOTHER painted in block letters upon the wall. His mother? He tried but for the life of him couldn't recall her name, much less put a face to the woman who had birthed him. It did however make him think of looking for a phone. Ducking behind the desk, he inspects the cash register, (lifting the cash drawer from the tray), reading the registry, taking some extra pens, and the jar (if it's empty). He was in survival mode in a strange place, and perhaps his paranoid neuroticism might actually come in handy for a time.

(Don't want to include too much at a time, will let you reply before continuing)

Elesia and Bartholomew were a couple of opposites to be certain. While Elesia was dressed like a storybook princess, and danced with a grace so elegant it was a divine spectacle to watch, while Bartholomew, a simple farmer, was dressed in but a clean white tunic, his rugged rustic features trimmed of the travel’s growth for the evening, and he followed his leading lady around the cobbled streets, though more than once he deftly moved her feet with a quick two-step to avoid having her delicately painted toes and silken sandals with crystal tassels trod upon by her partner. They danced, and they laughed, before making their way to the table where their companions sat.

“You ladies look beautiful” Bartholomew said with a gracious bow that seemed somewhat stiff from years of toil in the field.

“And You Xaris, look so handsome tonight” Elesia added. Loriel turned to them and spoke of sharing wealth and good fortune as she presented them all with gifts. To Bartholomew, a belt of sturdy leather, embroidered with silver and with sturdy pouches along its length for easy access to coin, vials or other small items. For Elesia, a silver flute, etched with gusts of wind along its smooth polished finish.

Like Aelistae, Bart tried to deny the kindness, having nothing to return, but Elesia openly accepted her gift, with a gracious curtsey and a thank you. “May I play many happy tunes upon this flute as a sign of gratitude Loriel.” Elesia said as she placed the flute to her lips and blew a few soft practice notes for good measure.

Bartholomew simply shook his head, and attached the belt, compete with buckle around the top of his pants, an exquisite contrast between his light tan shirt and his dark brown leggings. “Thank you Loriel, it is lovely.” He managed to say though his cheeks were still filled with the blush of embarrassment for all the attention he had received this evening.

Bart pulled out a chair, and bid Elesia sit, before finding one of his own. As Aelistae and Linnix prepared to dance, Elesia smiled and urged Linnix to give it a go. “Dance like there is nothing else in life but the dance, and you may even enjoy yourself darling.” With a soft smile, the bard and the farmer took to wait for the show about to begin.

The hunger. It was almost unbearable as the sounds of a stomach depraved of nourishment for so long began to turn on itself, digestive acids eating away at what little fat reservoirs remained. His stomach gurgled and growled so loud in his head it was as if the Tyranid swarms of of the Hivefleets had descended upon the hapless planet torn apart by civil war and strife.

Minutes into hours, and hours into days, the boy no more than twelve summers old fought against the overwhelming odds out here in the war-zone simply to stay alive. To be caught out in the open was to ask for a swift death without honor, and so to the shadows he fled. For months as the sounds of bloodshed and death cries echoed across what had once been a lush landscape—now a decrepit hell hole in the paradise that was the Imperium—and Solanis slowly receded farther and farther into the safety of the night, the shadows, and the quiet of his mind.

Soon, the explosions of frag grenades, and other crude explosives made no sound to the boy, and the blood curdling screams were no longer so distant, as Solanis used guerilla warfare to leap out at those he could get the drop on, beating them mercilessly with an old jagged piece of pipe, all over the last dregs of a canteen or the scraps of a food-ration.

So it continued for weeks, and so too was Solanis once more hidden beneath the wreckage of an old Chimera APC, from a group of Imperial Stormtroopers sent in to quell the uprising some months ago. Solanis waited, and waited some more, slipping farther from the sight of the world around him and deeper into his mind’s eye of the terrain as he had memorized it.

Footsteps were approaching. Perhaps they offered salvation, perhaps death, or perhaps, his next meal. His stomach rumbled like the aftereffects of a plasma resonance burst in his head, and he feared it would alert everyone in a fifty click radius of his position, though in reality the sound was barely audible. Closer and closer the footfalls came, each one like thunder across the sky.

A shadow loomed only a few feet from him, and that was when he struck. Leaping from the cover of the wreckage he tucked into a roll and landed inches from his target, with a great sweep of his arms he took the armored legs out from under his prey, and as the officer fell in surprise, Solanis raised the pipe for the killing blow, but a voice stayed his hand for a split second, a split second that would change his life, his reason for existence.

“Halt!”

Her voice was filled with such strength and conviction, the single word was enough to make the boy’s fingers tremble around his meager implement of death. Maybe it was such strength, or the act that he had not heard a female’s voice in so long a time, but Solanis took a chance to look upon the voice’s owner and would forever be a changed man.

Glancing up, his dark eyes fell across the form of the most imposing, yet alluring figure he had ever bore witness to. She encompassed dignity, strength, willpower and fear all at once, and it took but a chance meeting of their eyes, that he knew she was the alpha, and to her pack he had lost.

Then came the flash of light, the burning pain, and the peaceful darkness of which he had found solace in for so long.

Solanis woke up as he did every morning, perched from the ceiling of his quarters above his bed, legs and arms laced between the pipes which fed the Black Ship it’s sustenance, a simple harness supporting his back. It had been years since the Inquisitor’s Assassin had been able to properly sleep in anything that remotely offered comfort such as a bed. For too long over the past fourteen years had Solanis, designated and more often referred to as “Daggerfall” spent in all manner of hell whilst on assignment. His body as well as his soul had been hardened into a living weapon, a feral beast of the night, and like his Alpha, he had come to know pain unimaginable, until the humanity had been almost completely stripped from him. Emotions were a weakness to be used against one’s prey, and Solanis had become skilled at the hunt. He was a wolf, one of Carrigan’s pack, and in the black confines of space the pack was all he knew, they were the only family he had left.

Dropping from the ceiling without so much as a sound, Solanis quickly dressed for the occasion. Earlier in the night he had received word of his new designation, and as he read over the simple letter left within his mailbox, Solanis without conscious thought licked his lips at the chance to hunt once more.

Henceforth you have been designated as Piscivorus.

Signed,
-][- Carrigan

“Piscivorus” Solanis mouthed in a low whisper as he strapped his fabled sword and knife to his person, donning his traditional black body glove, and with a grin, a set of crude beast furs overtop, more for effect than any real protection; as the first law of defense was a simple one he strived to perfect. –don’t get hit in the first place. Lifting from it’s polished cradle, Solanis then strapped his beloved modified rifle “Howl” to his back. With a final glance in the mirror, Solanis bent down and retrieved a pair of lacquered bone, formed in the shape of teeth, and pushed each one through the holes in his ears. The teeth had been gifted to Solanis after successfully qualifying for a second chance of life under Carrigan’s command, and for over a decade he had worn them with pride, a symbol of his allegiance to the ‘pack.’

Running his fingers through his short crop of black hair, Solanis moved silently down the corridor to the large black door that separated the quiet life aboard the Black Ship, with an assignment that would take him from the liberties and wanton luxuries, sparse as they were above this floating prison ship of death, into the blackness of space where he could stretch his legs, and run anew into the night, where in the name of his Alpha Carrigan and the Emperor behind her he would revel in the hunt once more.

Rakdos is an ancient being. He has been undead for at least two centuries, possibly even more. I had thought him dead as no news of him had surfaced for some time. As one can expect, my compatriots and I make it our business to know all that occurs on this world of ours. In life, Rakdos was once an…”agent” of our temple, performing services for us of a rather delicate nature. However, he was granted access once before to the Sphere, and learned of Arcanaloth and the stories I have told you. He fell quickly from our order, dedicating himself to the cause of the exiled one, and disappeared for quite some time. It seems now that he has discovered that which I have long feared, and now seeks to restore his unholy patron to power. We cannot let this happen. YOU cannot let this happen. The fate of the world hangs in the balance, and it is no coincidence that you have come here on this day. You have been chosen to prevent Rakdos’s apocalyptic quest from bearing fruit.”

Kaene paused, and quivered slightly. He sat down slowly, a tired look on his face.

”Destiny has picked you. But the choice is yours, I await your answer friends.”

Katriana had to think about the consequences of accepting this Church’s charge, as doing so could have unforeseeable reprocussions from her own role as a devout follower of Ragnarok. Katriana stepped forward and ran her fingers through Kumadel’s hair, even though she did not respond. “”If it be the will of the God’s that I take up arms against this evil most foul then so be it, I pledge claw and steel, heart and faith to the cause. If it truly be fate that we, all of us have come here on this day, then I would dare state it is fate too that this stranger has made their way here as well, that new life is destined to be breathed into them so they too can aid you in this endeavor. Please Master Kaene, gift them with new life, it is all I can ask.
