YOu've got my prayers from across the miles, you've got my number, as you were there for me across the globe, if I can ever be there for you two in the days ahead lemme know. California's not that far away.

To my DM's players and friends here on the inn, My attendance here has been sketchy over the past few weeks, but suffice to say life has taken a few unexpected turns that have me heading away from home for potentially quite awhile. Internet access will be sporadic at best, and to be honest, there are things of dire importance that need to be attended to above and beyond my love of the inn as sad as it is to admit it.

So as of now, this is an effective AFK for an unknown length of time. Almerin, Tek, my utmost apologies but do what you must with Crellin, and Rose, as I cannot dedicate specific time to their being played.

As to my Tide's of War players, My sincere apologies too, it had barely begun and I was soo looking forward to it, but believe me when I say I was blindsided by life and circumstance, and didn't expect to be heading off.

Soo with great Regret I too take my leave, wishing you all the best, and with hopes of seeing you all again.

I'll try and PM DM's about intened actions on anything I may need before then, but I apologize for the delays.

But a current Key Character Kor, has said they will no longer be participating, so that changes things slightly as I had contacted them about giving them an important role in the beginning plotline, sort of a way to help fully immerse a newbie of the in to the epicness that roleplay can be.

Seeing as they aren't playing anymore, I'll swap the plotline... Update will be today or tomorrow though.

Subject: Well this isn't fun...

"Cripes!"

The Catterpillar Crellin envisioned struck a vicious blow, to the newcomer, another being appearing from nowhere to join their cause. And then a fog rolled in, and Crellin couldn't see much past his hand in front of is face.

"Well we won't be killin much if we can't see a darn thing!" He cried, his stubby nose twitching against the enchanted fog. He so terribly wanted to just let fly a lightning bolt, but the risk was too great, and he didn't want to risk turning another brave Khord into a crispy Khord kabob. So instead, that portion of his brain that still grasped some semblance of sanity took over, and he waved his hands, ... and then Sneezed, completing the components for a "gust of wind" spell. Trying to clear the fog from their midst.

(As Next week is going to be Uber busy... I'll post his next attempted moves as far as combat is concerned presuming he's alive to do so lol..

Able to see as combat continued against the monstrous insect, Crellin's sanity took back a back seat once again to the part of him that revelled in chaos. Casting a Spider walk" upon himself, he ran along the side of the beast, and then straight up it, his enchanted step sure against the chitinous armor until he stood directly upon the creatures head. (one round.) There, atop the moustrous beast likely flailing in an attempt to dislodge or attack the mage, Crelling ran his hands together vigorously before finishing the "Lightning Bolt" spell with a clap, a "CLEAR!" and a small jump that momentarily dislodged him from being grounded along with the beast before landing once more atop a 'hopefully' much less threatening charbroiled insect.)

Subject: the morning after

Pain

Rose’s breath was shallow, each inhalation threatened to sweep her up into an increasingly inviting blanket of darkness. Rose didn’t even register the small hands of Thea as she began her chant, her plea to the Goddess to restore life and vigor to the broken body of the vigilant knight.

Knit bone,
darn flesh,
stitch skin,
weave breath.

Rose’s breath halted for a moment, caught in her lungs as muscle and sinew mended, and bone regenerated from the crushing blow of the gnoll’s cruel axe. Her green eyes shot wide as the last of her armor was pushed forth from woven skin and flesh, healed anew, and she cried out in shock. “Thea!”

Turning to find the young priestess before her, her own eyes tear filled and hands trembling, Rose’s gloved hands instinctively reached out of her, and wrapped her into a hug. Holding her close, she let her own tears fall as her eyes surveyed the results of their first victory in combat as a group. Whispering into Thea’s ears, barely audible even at such intimate proximity, Rose spoke. “Thank you. I knew Mirros would guide you.” Squeezing her a little tighter, before breaking the embrace, Rose lifted herself to her feet, scanning the area.

Fatigued, sore, but alive, the companions sorted out their immediate vicinity into a campsite, suitable for a much needed rest. Thea had shimmied up close to Rose as bedding was layed down, and Rose found it hard to sleep, even as Thea’s trembling form finally succumbed to exhaustion. Rose, waited until Thea’s still form was lost in the depth of slumber before shifting, Wrapping the youth in her own bedroll for added warmth, before getting up and going over to her broken armor. She sat quietly as her fingers ran over the deep tear in the metal, the sides folded in, her blood still stained upon the jagged steel.

She looked over the campgrounds, realizing that the other young Syln woman was not amongst them for the first time. The quiet female must have thought her odds better on her own, than with this argumentative and divided group. Rose watched as Agrin moved about the campgrounds, speaking in his harsh tongue, but unable to decipher anything audible. The dwarves, different castes as they were, were still content to segregate themselves, from the rest of the group, while Eofara had his own perception of things, and Joseph, well, they didn’t know their would be guide well enough to draw any conclusions. Thea however.. Thea was a shining beacon of everything Rose fought to protect. The youth had no place in this group, in this life.. Certainly none of them deserved to be persecuted as they were, but Thea, no.. she just didn’t belong. Everything about her gave her purpose.. She’d see Thea free from this accursed thread of fate so long as she still drew breath.

It was on that thought, that sleep finally took her, and she passed out still resting against the tree, broken armor in her lap.

In the morning, Rose awoke and the camp was already abuzz. Breakfast was being served by those who had food, meager as it seemed. Standing, and carrying her scale mail in hand, she approached Agrin, and quietly set the piece down before him. “Good Krosan, I know not if you’ve the means, but I know your kind have the knowledge and skill in crafting weapons and armor moreso than I could likely learn in a lifetime. If you’d be willing and able to repair my armor, I’d be more than happy to try and pay you..“ She looked at his dwindling rations before adding.or if coin seems less valuable given our predicament, a portion of the food I have left.” The dwarves her family had dealt with in many past trade negotiations were always shrewd but fair merchants, Agrin certainly wasn’t as approachable as say Igni may have been, but he was outspoken, and Rose respected that. Even if he was a self serving racist son of a gravel pit.
(Expecting to be turned down but who knows) (can backpost or PM results with Vilyamar)

Afterwards, Rose approached the wild man, nibbling on her dried tack for breakfast. Greeting him warmly she said “Glad to see you are still with us, and in one piece. Last night’s affairs were less than amicable for conversation or knowledge sharing. As it stands, you did mention that you were hear for a reason, and since we’re needing a guide. Perhaps we could continue our interrupted intentions of last night whilst we head towards the ruins nestled within these woods?”

(Obviously for sake of game moving on, I’m trying to ‘vote’ or whatever that we continue on the task, whilst still allowing pc interaction etc in back posts )

Topic: New Spores of Itanlok ~ 1 ~ A Short Adventure in Audalis
Subject: I realize the combat post is short, but so is Crellin, in size, stature, and sanity :D

Crellin was still bewildered as Beordin came softly to a halt upon the boulder’s below, even as his mind raced to catch up with his actions. Then still, the boulders around him started to shake, and Crellin fought to keep his balance as the black goo bubbled and sputtered as the earth split and from it came the largest Caterpillar Crellin had ever seen.

“Soo that becomes a flutter fly? Fascinating, I do wonder where it’s gonna keep dem wings, but oooh if it isn’t gonna want to eat us to sustain its metamorphosis."

Once more, even as the deranged mage spoke, his fingers twitched and pilfered his pouch, pulling forth a small shard of a long ago broken mirror, even as he stepped back to place at least one other Khord between him and the massive bug.

“Hmm getting eaten would be most unfortunate, as I have so very much to do today..”

With that, Crellin fell into chant, calling forth the powers of chaos to bestow a negative fortune upon the creature before him, as the shard of mirror hummed and floated between his outstretched hands, as he spoke the verbal jibberish of an Unluck spell.

Topic: Audalis: Tides of War
Subject: Panic in the streets.

Where only moments before were revelers and merry folk enjoying the festivities of the famed Carnival, now were the screams of the panicked, the endangered, and the pain stricken. The Market Guards, along with the Crimson Blades in the area however would do all they could to grasp some control of this chaotic situation. The guards formed a defensive line, and in their midst Rajikesh took a place amongst them, turning to his brothers in arms, and taking up the defense along with them, waiting for the nearest enemy to step too close.

Cameron, for all his charismatic intentions of dissolving one situation now found himself right in the middle of another, entirely new predicament, and this one much more dangerous. Turning to the watery robed creature who still had its fist impaled into the unfortunate bodyguard, Cameron stepped behind it, in a single fluid motion he drew a rapier and stabbed at the figure in the back. So smoothly was the draw the rapier almost seemed to eject itself from the thin sheath from where it was kept into the swashbuckler’s skilled hands. The strike was perfect, had this been a normal man of the same height and weight, his rapier would likely have punctured a kidney. A debilitating blow to be sure. This however was not a normal man by any account, a fact that became all the more clear as Cameron removed his blade point from the creature’s back, only to find the watery robe swirl forth back to cover the thin hole within it, as more dark water fell from the now concealed wound to the cobblestone beneath him.

All the worse, the hellish creature’s grip upon the hapless bodyguards innards tightened, and the man screamed a silent scream as he spewed for more foul waters, his eyes rolling up into the back of his head, before being tossed to the ground like a doll of straw. It was then that the creature turned it’s sights upon Cameron.

Kor and his wolf companion, for all their focus on the dispute with the nobleman were unprepared for the chaos that suddenly exploded right before them. The nobleman, terrified at watching his hired muscle disposed of so easily slinked in behind Kor, grabbing him for support one moment, pushing him forward the next, towards the foul denizen of the deep.

“I’m a noble, it’s your job to protect those better than you, Keep me safe, I command you!”

Kor stumbled forward as Veldrilac snapped a bark at Reginald, the cowardly ‘noble’man who had laid hands upon his master and friend. The ranger regained his composure, and drew forth his longsword, the finely polished blade all that was between the ranger and the same creature who now turned towards one astonished Cameron Grey.
(Lack of a post or any reason for absence will grant you one Npc’ed action, future lack of communication will result in less than favorable consequences)

Ruahn and Damara were split by only 15’ of actual space, but the frantic people running between them made it seem like much more, as the robed creatures tightened their circle upon the alleyway. Damara had drawn her blade, and moved closer to the same creature that had felled the guard, and now turned its attention towards Cameron. She darted past a woman scrambling before her, and side stepped a stumbling man in a panic to flee, and as she neared the creature, she struck, but her blade passed through nothing but the watery veil covering the creature, rivulets of water cascading down her blades length before falling to the earth as she moved the blade to complete the swing.

Ruahn, a blessing upon her blade however engaged the closest adversary as it neared her, longsword slashing outwards as the creature approached. Her sword passed through the watery veil, and connected with something solid beneath, as a splash of water and ichors hit the ground where the creature stood. It groaned the moan of the sea, like a twisted sound heard when placing one’s ear to a conch, before it lashed out at Ruahn, but the warrior was ready, and with a firm palm upon the flat of her blade, she two handed the weapon as a brace against the strike, her enchanted weapon holding firm, deflecting the blow even as she felt the force of the thrust as her arms and shoulders accepted the power.

Arka was at a disadvantage as well, he preferred the mobility of open quarters. It wasn’t the confined stalls, or even the guards presence which deterred the man, it was the people. So many people were at risk here, as exit points were cut off, and they started huddling in the center of the street, some grabbing weapons or objects from nearby vendor stands as some meager defense as a line was formed around them by guards and guild mates alike. Each innocent here was a liability, just as was the woman before him now was. She was conscious, albeit barely, her eyes lolled about in her head as Arka picked her up, and moved her behind the nearest market cart setting her down gently. No matter where he looked however the creatures were encroaching nearer and nearer, and even her, with the meager wooden stands providing some cover from those approaching from the west, two more entering from the southwest would soon be upon them, (20ft out) and there was currently no organized defense against that side of the perimeter. Reaching into the darkness cast between him and the woman from an overhead streetlight, Arka pulled forth a slender dagger its kris-like curved blade coming forth from the sheath of shadow.

At the northern end of the street, the Market guards along with Rajikesh watched as three robed horrors approached. As they crossed within 25’ of the line, two of the Market guards raised small crossbows, taking their stance behind the line, and firing at the nearest creature. Two bolts silently soared towards their mark, one, sinking into the chest of the creature as brackish water spewed forth around the bolt, the creature seemingly undeterred by the protruding object, while the other, fired by a hand unsteady with fright, soared high and wide, to be lost down the street in the darkness.

Onward the trio of enemies came, their slow swagger giving Rajikesh plenty of time to approach the center of the three, and to send a staggering jab to the creature’s chest just below where the bolt still protruded. As soon as his hand passed through the watery veil, Rajikesh’s mind tore back to his first pit fight here in Bayris, where the strong island warrior had been beaten by a dirty fighting street mongrel, his pride wounded, his ego beaten, and his purse empty. Rajikesh felt hollow, and cold… He remembered the painful memories as he left with nothing but embarrassment and shame as his trophies. Suddenly however his mind shifted to training vigorously, using the loss as a means to better himself, and in another sudden flashback he saw himself standing there above the same adversary who had bested him before, the unconscious youth’s eyes scanning the back of his skull as Rajikesh stood victorious. He pushed the memories away as his fist connected with solid matter behind the veil, and the creature groaned in response. Was this how they registered pain? Who knew, but it was certainly better than him laughing in the pit-fighters face about it.
(Successful will Save)

Rajikesh found himself unable to revel in his successful strike however as the other two creatures approached him, and the one before him lurched out to strike in return. As the only man between the three creatures and the Guards 20’ behind him, the pit fighter soon found himself severely outnumbered and out-flanked. The creature he struck lashed out with a talon-fingered hand, scratching across the warrior’s chest and drawing thin lines of blood, along with a numbing sensation that did little more than annoy the trained monk, his natural temperament to extreme temperatures protecting against the effects. The monk saw the strike from his left coming in and deftly raised his arm to parry it, but this allowed the creature on his right to lash out at an unprotected back, dragging its claws deeply across the side and back of Rajikesh, right along his ribs. This time however a small pang of icy pain registered in the monk, as he prepared to deal with the triple threat that had accosted him.

(Rajikesh 35/49)
(Engaged/ flanked by 3 creatures)

The Market Guards looked towards each other, as if they should do something to help the lone warrior, but the same gruff guard from before raised his hand to silence their unspoken concern. “Hold the Line. None are allowed to get passed here. He can withdraw to us if it gets too tough, and you two bowmen, Get across the street and provide some cover back there!” The guards looked towards their peer, for he was not of any ranking authority, but his grasp of the situation commanded respect and they simply nodded and began to move.”

Two more creatures came through on the east, though only one would reach Ruahn in time. It crossed the last 10’ remarkably quick and it thrust its hand outwards at the flanked warrior, much like the other had to fell the poor bodyguard. The hand jabbed forward, the palm not penetrating the fine mithril links, but the strength of the blow was still enough to rattle the Ruahn’s bones, even as she shrugged off the chill that seeped through her veins.

(Ruahn -51/62)
(Engaged/Flanked by two creatures a third will enter next round)

Ruahn did all she could to hold the eastern side of the street, but now four more came silently from the west, two ahead of two more. They came forward, and pushed through the stalls that blocked there path, shoving the stands aside as they moved into the street, homing in on the pool of warmth and live amassed in the center of the broken ring of defenders. Behind the two that entered the street, the other two stopped, guarding any potential escape down the western alley.

As they were within 15’ of the circle of bodies huddled in the center of the street, one of the merchants took up a silver cistern and threw it at the closest creature, the object clanging against it before rattling on the cobblestone. “Come on, we either fight for our lives or we forfeit them!” He called.

Beside him, his wife fainted…

Subject: Forgive it's short I'm posting at work in the middle of a rush no less.

(Please forgive the short nature of this post, I’m swamped but wanted to get something out at least.)

Daldren had remained fairly quiet during the travel to Prilm. He often rode ahead of the party, allowing them their idle banter and conversation, preferring to keep his eyes and ears focused on the road and their surroundings. His ride was a determined one, each step of Diego was as deliberate as if he were walking upon his own steady feet. Though he remained quiet, he knew there would be plenty of time for talk later.

Later came soon enough, as they arrived at the fork in the road occupied by “The Lonesome Traveler” where Bil once more tended to their steeds, while Kendal and Anna tended to the arrangements of shelter and nourishment of those gracing their door. As Daldren’s party took their seats and food was ordered. It was very evident that the tension here was running high, and as Kendal alluded to his gratitude at the possibility of the MV6 investigating, it only served to increase his awareness that the foul wind seemed most unnatural. It was Tariel who made mention of his own observations however, bringing to word the fact that the wind seemed only to affect the living, and not material inanimate objects. Daldren nodded in accord to the observation, but his dark eyes were set upon the woman at the table by the hearth, her eyes rested upon them longer than the casual glance. It was then that he noticed the large black dog at her feet, likely warming by the fireplace, a comfortable spot to be sure.

Standing, Daldren quietly made his way over to the table of the lone woman and the canine presumably hers. “Evening ma’am,“ he said calmly, studying her, gauging her mannerisms and the like. (Sense Motive) “Couldn’t help but notice your friend there.. Had myself one just like ‘im /’er (depending on observation of dog’s breed and gender being closer) when I was younger. Loyal to the end he was. Mind for an extra chair at your table by the hearth? Wind’s had a bit more… chill to it than normal.”

(Daldren’s trying to get a feel for the woman and her dog, he’s a cautious sort, but respectful at the same time of his elders by nature. If the woman or dog allow him to get closer, or engage in conversation, and ultimately sit, he’ll call Kendal over, have a similar meal to the woman and pay for both. He’ll try and engage her in banter, introducing himself and trying to flow the conversation towards anything she may know about the area etc utilizing Gather Information if at all possible.)

Rose watched as the last of the foul creatures dropped to wounds and exhaustion around her. She coughed and tasted blood within her mouth, her crimson spittle blending with the already tainted earth around her from the fight. She dropped her shield and clenched her chest, finding it hard to breath, each inhalation caused a sharp pain to go shooting through her body.

Kneeling, the paladin turned to Thea, lifting her head gently, shaking her with the intent to wake her, though she didn't mean to frighten her upon concsiousness with her own bloody visage.

In a raspy voice filled with pain, Rose took a look around before speaking. "Wake child, it... it's over for now." As she spoke she felt almost guilty as each word sent small flecks of blood upon Thea's once pristine white attire, now marred with dirt blood and tears.
