Subject: Quick little spin

Linnix's overzealous spin had the barmaids giggling, and Angus watching hoping the small cage wouldn't rattle right out of the curved support which held it. Over and over it went the balls clattering about against themselves and their steel prison, until finally out popped a solid gold nugget, roughly the size and shape of the other bingo balls. Linnix's eyes lit up at the golden treasure, but Angus only chuckled as he explained that the 'ball' in and of itself was not the prize.

Collecting it from Linnix who didn't seem to like the idea of letting such a prize go to waste, her brows furrowed as Angus retrived from his inner vest pocket a small figurine of alabaster. It was a small replica of a Gryphon, and Angus held it out to Linnix, very carefully.

"This 'ere be your prize, and a prize of mine for many of my old adventuring days. This be the last one of its kind that I be knowing of, so treat her well, and she'll return the favour. Just don't call upon Tessa indoors, she's a bit skiddish at not being able to spread her wings." As Linnix looked at him quizzically, Angus explained how the item worked.

(It's an original Figurine of Wondrous Power :Gryphon. Once per week, the Figurine can be commanded to transform into a full normal Gryphon as per the MM for up to 10 rounds. It obeys it's owner implicitly, serving as either guardian or mount. Should the Gryphon be killed, it returns to figurine form and cannot be summoned forth for another 1+1d4 weeks. If the Figurine is destroyed, so to is the Gryphon bound to it. The Command word is ~Fly Tessa Fly)

Angus pockets the Gold Nugget, and places a piece of wood over where the gold ball was once advertised, mumbling (though not negatively) about leprauchauns and horseshoes and Tymoras' blessings being with this party.

In posts where Charges in the shield are accrued, I'll simply post (C~1 or C~6) etc, for a guideline on how the shield is doing.

I left Artanis with some gold for standard gear, and paced 3300 of it towards the 9,000 she owes. 1/3 already paid for not bad at all.

And Artanis will have the shield with a bidd to pay it off, while the spear is sold and money split amongst the party.
After that, I need to rest as I have to be up in only a few hours for an earlie gaming session today so I can answer future questions while I game

Ps Ginafae, there are enchanted chainmails available plus 1's and 2's and couple with other enchantments (I'll roll them and post em later)

Gergory scoffed at the title give nt othe bandit. "Well, Lass, it seems like you've been through quite a bit of trouble. Master Black there wil be enjoying the fine accomodations of the CAstle dungeons for a spell, while he thinks over his poor career choices."

Standing, Gregory placed a small cloth bag on the desktop before Kas. "50 Gold, as per his freelance bounty price indicated by the Bounty hunter's guild. If you'll just sign here, and here, and initial here, you my dear can be on your merry way.

As Kas turned to leave, she inquired where the local Church of Tyr was, and Gregory couldn't help but smile. "Just look for one of the largest buildings in town, all prettied up with statues and moulding, if it ain't the castle, it's the Church I'd wager Ha ha"

(The Church can be seen rising above almost all other buildings in town other than the Castle in the core of the city.)

Xaris placed five more gold into the box, and gave it a spun, his eyes followed the twirling cage and as a white ball popped out, he smiled still. After all, the day had started off rather well, what was a few more gold when he had just made platinum?

“I’d like to buy the others a drink,” she whispered quietly to one of the serving girls with a gesture to the surly patrons, “I truly mean them no harm. And if you could pass on that I would be grateful, Sister.”
The serving girl flinched reflexively as the priestess neared her to whisper, but relaxed considerably as Aelistae’s soft voice made light of her intentions to buy the bar patrons a round of ale. Slipping the barmaid five silver pieces, the lass left to fetch the drinks, as Aelistae rose herself to investigate the bingo cage filled with little balls. “Could I have a go?” She asked, peering to her side as Xaris stood beside her, his curiosity also bidding him try the game of chance.

" Yes, how much would three reaches cost? I would like to purchase them." He asked.
Angus turned and smiled, pointing to the box beside the cage upon which the sign was fixed. 5 Crowns minimum a spin there- up to a maximum of 50 gold, try as often as you like.” With that much money passing about, no wonder the box was located right at the bar, and there were armed garrison guards within the premises.

Aelistae slipped the first of her coins into the box, and gave the little handle upon the cage a turn. The cage spun, and the balls rattled until out the side popped a white ball. Not to be discouraged, Aelistae went to try again, and Angus informed her to return the white ball into the to of the cage before she spun again. Doing so, she turned the crank once more, the gentle rattle coming to a stop once more as another white ball spilled forth from the side. Aelistae understood that with any game of chance, the odds were not usuay in the player’s favor, and as she returned the ball, inserted more coins, and spun once more, she was pleasantly surprised as a blue ball came forth. Angus smiled and laughed a heart laugh as Aelsitae’s eyes widened.

“A winner, good luck lass, good luck.” Angus plucked something from beneath the bartop and moved over to Aelistae, claiming the blue ball and returning it to the cage, he handed her a single platinum piece, double that of her original 5gold roll.

Xaris stepped up to the Cage as well, slipping his 15 gold pieces into the box in a single motion. And he eagerly turned the crank. Angus looked on eagerly as the cage turned, and out popped…
A red ball!

Xaris could hardly contain his excitement as he held the red ball up for all to see. Some of the patron’s in the room cheered for the gnome, and cheered all the louder as a pair of barmaids carrying free ale from Aelistae came forth and began handing them out. Some even tipped their hats or mugs in the drow’s direction in appreciation.

Angus tousled his hair in a grin. “Aye it looks like you lil one have a ‘orseshoe shoved up yer nethers.’ As he moved to a Lockbox beneath the bartop, he pulled out a handful of coins, and slid them across the countertop towards Xaris. The gnome reached up to claim them, and realized there were fifteen shiny platinum pieces. He was about to protest the barkeep's error, when it donned on him. 5 gold piece minimum, he had placed 15, ten times that amount was his winnings. Maybe he would try again?

Bartholomew turned to Kas, and shook his head though he bore a warm smile. "Truthfully I was thinking perhaps we could keep this as a trophy of ou exploits, for truely it was the first of many hopefully successes this band will have on our way to the keep. Who knows, perhaps it wil be the first of many items to be proudly displayed within a cae of gold and fine wood declaring the bravery and fellowship we all share. I will have it appraised however. Best of luck in dropping that vagrant off with the rest of the filth that dirties our proud lands.

~~
Kasennarion, asking directions was easily guided to the local constabulary, pulling Jared black along behind her with a tug of the rope which bound him. Bounty Hunter’s were not so uncommon in these lands or times, and everyone gave her a wide birth as she pulled the fugitive to her goal. As she entered the garrison, Jared winced as the man behind the desk immediately recognized him.
“Jared Black, you gutter rat, I thought I told you if I ever saw you again it would be the gallow’s for you.” Mr. Black audibly gulped at the threat. As the Constable turned to Kas, he bowed slightly and ran rugged fingers through his dusty curls.
“You’ve done the countryside a service lady. This fella’s been causing quite a ruckus since dropping out of the militia and taking to banditry.”
Jared Black shot back in anger. “The Army’s full of pompous blow-hearts and corrupt ideals, At least I enjoyed my freedom for a little while, but you, Gregory are but a lapdog in chain!”

Gregory moved to receive the criminal and shook his head. “You’ll never understand what loyalty or honor means will you Black.”

Taking Black from Kas, he moved him into a nearby cell, and tossed him in unceremoniously, not even bothering to untie him for the time being. Moving back behind the desk, he pulled out some form,s and began filling them out, glancing to Kas as he did so. “Now then lass, if you’ll tell me your name, and how you cam about him, I’ll file these off, fetch the reward, and see you on your way.”

Topic: Forgotten Realms: the Unsung Heroes Q/A
Subject: Since it was asked

Ginafae asked if she could find a Wand of Cure Light wounds, or a magical elven Courtblade while in town so I happily roleld for her so she could include the search in a post.

The Cure Light wounds Wand at the Shop run by the Tethyrian Magic Consortium is partially used. I contains 35 charges left and selling for 600 gp

There is a full Wand of Cure Light wounds being auctioned off at Jarom's Auction House to raise money for the local church of Torm which donated it. It is currently going for 800gp

As for Aelista'es searching for an Elven Courtblade, the item is a exotic weapon to begin with, so she had a low change of finding one, however, the dice god's favoured her as not only did she roll that one was avilable, but that it was a magical unique item as well, so I created yet another item _even though She'll never be able to afford it lol

Ithilwen The Moonmaiden
+1 Elven Lycanthrope Bane Courtblade of Moon Beam

Ithilwen, as her moniker inferred, was a fair skinned Elfish woman from the Woods of Cormanthor. Though she lived under the bows of the great trees, and gave great praise to the sun which warmed her homelands for generations, her true revelry was in the middle of the still night, dancing and hunting under the silver rays of moonlight. Ithilwen was a fierce defender of her homeland, and when a Pack of werewolves threatened to endanger her people’s way of life, it was Ithilwen who took to defend them. With her magical blade she flowed through the woods like leaves on the wind, striking at the afflicted creatures with guerilla tactics and using the forest to her advantage. It is rumored, that she defeated all but one of the Werewolve’s in combat, but an Elder lycanthrope, a Lord amongst his kind managed to best Ithiwen in combat, turning her into that which she hated with a bite of its hungry maw. To this day, it is said that rumor or tale of a pair of werewolf’s running rampant through the woods are those of the Werewolf Lord and his converted mistress, an eternity of ironic perversion as Ithilwen spends her days hunting those she once loved, as a beast she once despised.

This Magical Blade aside from being a Bane vs Lycanthrope (not shapeshifters) also has the ability to cast Moon Beam, as per the spell 3 times per day. (CL 5) A cone of pale moonlight shoots forth from the blade, and any Lycanthrope in human form caught within the beam must succeed on a will save vs involuntarily reverting to their animal forms. On your turn each round you can change the direction of the beam A Lycanthrope can change out of it next turn (after spending one round in animal form) provided they move out of the beam of light. Once a Lycanthrope saves vs a Moon beam, they are unaffected by it for 24 hours.

The weapon, also at Jarom's Auction house, is currently going for 10,000gp

(If anyone wants to try and bid on items, simply let me know that after the inn you're heading there to partiipate in the bidding, and what you're max bid is, and I'll let you know the results.

(She also knows that she has no hope in paying for the entire thing right now to be her's but I'm betting she'll bid something at least to keep it providing everyone's not adamant about selling it.

What I'd like from everyone if possible is a List of items (mundane or Magical) They'd like to keep WITH the group. Item's not on the list of everyone will be sold and proceeds split, while those items thought important enough to keep will be kept until a later date.

Subject: The Green Gryphon

As the oaken doors stained green to match the wooden sculpted Gryphon to which the establishment affixed its namesake opened, the smells of pipesmoke and freshly baked breads wafted to tantalize the companions noses. As Bart made his way through the wide open common room dotted with cherrywood furniture and intricately carved iron lanterns or candlesticks to the bar, more than one patron's eye turned to face the companions, especially Aelistae, some of them skidding their chairs aside to place even more room between themselves and the drow woman. A pair of garrison Guards sat at a table by an open window, looking out into the cobblestone streets of Castle Tethyr, a name that covered the entire town rather than just the fortress at its core, spotted the dark skinned woman and one motioned to rise, until his companion, an older gentlemen by several winters halted his comrades ascent, ushered him to silence, and simply nodded in awareness to the priestess and her band of companions.

As Bartholomew approached the Bar, he procured from his pouch a fair sized amber, and slid it happily across the wooden surface for the barkeep to inspect.

"I would like to rent at least five of your rooms, complete with the finest service the Green Gryphon is known for is that clear?" Barthoomew said with some authority, the presense of his companions giving him that courageous confidence he often seemed to lack.

If the Bartender was about to say anything, he bit his tongue at the sight of Elesia, who leaned over the bar to gently take the barkeep's hand, holding it in her own while her gentle fingers stroked the weathered skin of the man's work hardened hands. "And do run us gal's a bath would you?" She added, her addictive smile stealing any refusal the barkeep could muster at the sight of Bart's chosen company.

"Martha! Fetch me the five finest suites we have left, prep and pamper them, we have well paying guests tonight who demand only the finest!" As the bartender spoke he pulled from Elesia's gentle grip to pocket the amber, and with a whistle, two young ladies, came out from the back baring tableclothes, and candlesticks, where they set a large crcular table in fine dinnerware near the corner fireplace of the room, complete with a bouquet of imported orchids and a bottle of Calimshite Brandywine. As the serving girls beckoned the adventurer's over to the table, Martha, an elderly woman with a cane of twisted elm, approached and handed Bart 5 brass keys, each with a room number etched into them, before departing back to whatever hole she had hobbled out from.

The bartender smiled and clapped his hands. "Name's Angus Petigrue and if there be anything the Gryphon can do you you fine folk don't hesitate to be lettin me know now y'hear?"

As the companions took their seats, Bart and Elesia respectfully left them to their comforts, as they had some dealings to tend to, infomring them all they would return in a little over an hour, she took her leave.

Looking around the common room, there are several tables filled with patrons ranging from commoner's to those of higher status, and the garrison guards. There is also a sign next to a small wheeled cage that reads:
Green Gryphon Lotto: Buy a spin for 5 gold pieces: Draw a white ball, _nothing, a blue ball, double your money, and a Red ball, win ten times that amount! The cae is filled with many white balls, some blue balls, and only a few red balls obviously, but nestled within is also a single gold ball.
Under the rest of the sign reads: Draw the Gold ball, and win a Special Prize!

As the pay settles, the waitresses bring around tankards of ice water, and menues containing all sorts of delightful dishes to satisfy any palette.

~~Fade to an hour or so later when Elesia and Bart return with the magic items identified. Backpost as necessary

Subject: Magic Items Identified:

Bart’s Identified Magic Items:

Bart has Managed to successfully Identify the following Magic Items:

The Mirrored Gem Encrusted Shield:
+1 Large Steel Shield of Nova: Grants Electricity resistance 5 to the wielder, and each time it is struck by an attack (Attack roll that misses wielder’s AC by 5 or less) or a spell that would deal area damage to the wielder one of the quartzes is charged for every 5 (five) points of damage the wielder receives. Once all 8 (eight) crystals are charged, the stored energy is discharged in a 20’ radius around the wielder for 5d6+5 points of electricity damage. A Command Word Spoken by the wielder at the time of discharge increases the Electricity resistance applied to herself and only herself to 20 for the purpose of this discharged energy only. The Command word is “Grounded”
Estimated Market Value: 18,000 gp

The Gem encrusted Short Spear:
Stigmatic Spear:
This +2 Short Spear thirsts for the strength of its wielder, and bares a minor necromantic aura around it. Upon a successful strike, the Spear drains 1d10 hit points from the wielder, and converts it into additional damage upon the target. On a critical hit, the extra d10 drained is also multiplied by 3 to a max of 3d10 additional damage:
Estimated Market Value: 24,750gp

Bart tried to have the Holy Symbol of Bane Identified, but was approached by an undercover Templar of the holy inquisition, rather than put up a fight he simply handed over the item, explained how he came to own the accursed thing, and was actually rewarded with 10gp for ridding the world of a terrible item.

So instead he had the Bone wand Identified, And it was discovered to be a Once only Rune Wand of Lightning Bolt, CL 7 (7d6) The benefits of Rune wands are that anyone not just spellcasters can utilize these simple creations, simply by knowing the command word often included upon the item itself. The Command Word for this wand is :”Dol’ amus’ Crackilus’ “ Estimated Value: 1050gp

Elesia has graciously offered to pay for the LARGE Ogre Axe to be identified, which comes back known as a +1 Large Greataxe. Seeing as Noone in the Group could even hope to wield the thing (minimum Strength requirement of 20 to even pick it up two handed for a Medium sized Creature)Elesia saw fit to Sell it, and return to the Green Gryphon and Split the earnings amongst the others.

Why not have everyone meet at the Green Gryphon First. There, Bart can procue your rooms, order breakfast and everyone can relax, while he has the local Magic Shop identify what items he can.

That way, I can just leave you all a post here in the q/a following this one of what items are brought to the groups attention, and everyone can decide on what they want to try and own, keep, or are ok with selling. If we can get a majority vote on certain Items, I can convert them to possible extra funds for you all before your personal shopping errands.

Vaskar turned his head from the show on stage as a familiar voice approached his table.

"Well met Vaskar Steelsong, the ummm yes yes, 'the drangonslayer.' Oh how the tail grows, the crowd would not like to know that said dragon, was a wee tiny little lizard crossing the road, now would they?"

Vaskar turned, his eyes the hues of the crystalline glaciers of the north reflecting in the candle light upon his table. “Ah Jhaven, it has been some time has it not? Sit, pull up a chair and rest those weary feet, and troubled eyes.” Vaskar kicked out a chair from under the table for Jhaven to be seated. He picked up on the fact that his companion of old was donned ready for battle, an unfortunate but necessary precaution in these trying times. Vaskar of course wore his own suit of finely gold wrought chain under his fineries, both rare and treasured gifts from the elves of the Damaskari Woods when he and his fellow men had helped thwart a rather nasty advance of orcish and giant kind from uprooting the longtime home of many of the fairer kin.

“What brings you to Thayatis?” Jhaven had asked, stealing the moment of nostalgia from the Skald. “Memories my old friend.” Vaskar said was he lifted his single, already almost empty glass of wine to his lips. “Thayatis has always been home to the beginnings of many a fantastic adventure for me, and you as well if memory serves. I thought it time to perhaps pick up the trail of another, lest my name be lost amongst simple thespians or charlatans such as those so reverent before us.” Vaskar chuckled at that and rose.

“But come, there is ample time to compare techniques of those in similar professions to our own later, for now, there is need to reminisce, and share our stories over ale and meat, stout and pastry. And for that, there can be no other than Needlemires.”

~~ Cut to Needlemires allowing for backpost

Vaskar and Jhaven entered the establishment like two school boys who had just realized the value of women for more than throwing stones at. They chided and jested even as the door was flung wide in Vaskar’s zealous advance, and he laughed allowed as he finished the tale he had told while making his way there.

“..And so I says to the Queen, Your majesty, that WAS his third leg!” Vaskar bellowed all the louder at his own punchlines as he led Jhaven to the bar. Those his eyes darted around the room, taking in a general count of those surrounding him, he smiled as he slammed a large hand on the bartop startling the Barkeep, that is until he recognized Vaskar from his many visits over the years.

“Needlemire my good man, I am in fine spirits today, and soon too shall I be in even ‘finer spirits’ still! Fate has chanced an old friend uon me once more, and I feel like sharing the mirth. A round of your finest for everyone present! And get this man –he said patting Jhaven on the back—a room with a bath for when he’s done, the road sticks to him like filth to a beggar, and let there be no beggar’s here!” With that he flopped down upon the stool, adjusting his axes and spear shaft so as not to impale anyone-least of all himself—as he waited for the brew to start flowing, and good times to be had by all.
