If all casters can make their to be prepared spells known to each other, we can better work to unify and bolste each other..
Vanima, Valendara I'm lookin at you two.

Obviously I'm a Healer/ Buffer but if we can compliment each other we can make our limited spells go longer.

Let me know.

might I suggest losing Charm person or sleep for more magic missiles? we're getting to the point where enemy HD are higher than sleep allows. and direct damage that never missed seems to help.

Also while I used Mirror Image when I NPC'ed you, as of yet it hasn't done anything for you as you're character is always been safely behind ours. That miht be traded in for a more damagin spell as well, perhaps an Agnazarrs (sp) scorcher since you seem to like fire, or another Melf's acid arrow.

Just a thought, Vorrioch might have some pointers too

Subject: This Friday

SilentOne works part of the gametime so I'll be playing her for the first portion...

and Yay for Cure Moderate wounds!

I'll hit up a spell selection based on whether the decision is to scout (as I said) or head back

Questions for the Gnoll:

Where is Thalrim's Base
How many uder his control?
What races under his control
and When is his Attack planned for?

EDIT: Emmerus is not above hurting the Gnoll to glean the information required. (Thouh obviously not kill him)

email me a copy of the players handbook, that would be great as I left my hardcopy in the states.

Also, I'm all for Scouting the woods awhile while the dwarves see if they can't fix the mage, then head back to Brdhvale for the reward.

Anywho, look forward to friday.

Subject: Pool of radiance :P

In hopes of finding aid for Artanis, Xaris stout and brave decided that exploring behind the web covered door might prove more beneficial than trying to assist in moving Artanis’ body across the gap. Removing what webbing he could with a javelin, Xaris tried the door but found it stuck with webbing and mildew turned rust. With a great heave, the little gnome managed to pry the door free from it’s sticky resistance, and the door opened with a great grinding noise as the hinges strained against years of rust and disuse.

The door opened into a short corridor of unworked stone. The natural tunnel wound around the corner to the right, and then again to the left, Xaris leading on cautiously with a javelin in hand. Left and right the tunnel weaved, thankfully it was a single path for it would have been easy to get lost otherwise. It took an easy ten minutes of walking before the tunnel, ever winding slowly downwards until music met XAris’ ears. Proceeding cautiously the tunnel opened up into a cavern illuminated by a faintly glowing green incandescent moss growing around the walls around a pool of crystal clear waters which ebbed into the cavern from under the rock walls.

More impressive than the crystal waters was the creature sitting upon a small rock in the middle of the pool. Slender and with blue scaled skin, the small creature blew into a conches shell which replied with a deep resounding musical note which mimicked waves upon the ocean. At the sight of Xaris in the doorway, the creature was visibly startled at the company, dropping the conches into the pool in fright and slinking down behind the rock until only it’s small round gilled face with exceedingly large eyes peered over its edge, the creatures milky eyelids blinking sideways over its eyes as it took in the gnome.

Subject: Split emotions.

And so it was that the group responded with mixed emotion and enthusiasm to wod of Artanis’ state of peril. Linnix, overcome with a little something called I-told-you-so syndrome, seemed to shrug off Kas’ plea for aid with a harsh rhetoric and turned back before skulking off for more much needed sleep. Xaris however had taken the call, and headed down into the cave, peering over the lip of the fallen floor trying to find the best way to climb down.

Kas meanwhile, had mounted Sunfire, her faithful steed, and with all haste, and much dismay from the stallion forced it into the cave mouth where she came upon Xaris testing the sunken floor beneath him tryin to find a way down. Unfortunately, the hoe was in the middle of much larger room below, so there was no ‘wall’ beneath him, for he stood on an outcroppin of what once served as the ceiling for the room below.

Kas however had a plan, and with some rope, and the aid of her mount, tied Xaris off, and helped to lower him the thirty feet to the floor below. Xaris found himself surrounded in webbing, and the massive crpse of a iant spider lay overturned in one corner of the dark room. There too lies a door, covered in webbing, with the remains of a man cocooned to the door itself; though a handle and some hinges are barely visible.

It was quite a feat of strength, moreover placement due to its sheer size in comparison to the gnomish barbarian, but with some effort, Xaris was able to move the 12’ ladder and tie it off enough so that Kas and her horse could slowly back peddle and pull the makeshift bridge back out of the hole.

Kas the prepared to once again lay the bride down, and lower her rope for Xaris to be tied off upon so he could be raised back up once more.

(Jozan it’s really up to you if you choose to be raised back up, or check out the door that’s down here.)

With the bridge back in place, hopefully they could get Artanis the aid that was required.

looking at your character sheet (And not seeing the Ranged Casting Feat _Which increases the range of 'touch' spells to a range of 30') Yes you will have to touch Geim to cure Critical wounds.

BUt currently as of where he is, that woudl require entering the 'danger zone' as Almerin called it. Which means Alyssia is at risk for ttacks of Opportnuity and getting squeezed herself.

Subject: Vile

The Temple of Magnagoth was a marvel of architectural brilliance. Katriana had traveled across the globe, and few structures held such awe as the building which loomed overhead as they entered the sacred grounds. The doors swung wide and the small fellowship entered the chapel, Where Kaene, and a man in black, halberd at his side stood conversing. Katriana’s eyes took in the decorum of the chapel, but as her gaze swept over the man unknown to her as Jimminous, her mouth curled into a snarl, and her claws reflexively tensed even as she held Kumadel.

Katriana wanted nothing more than to snap into her authoritative role as a Warder, but realized this was a church, and not even a church of her order; she was out of her jurisdiction, and a man of Kaene’s status and power certainly knew who was standin a mere few feet from him.

“Such evil pervading a holy hall;” Katriana said just loud enough for those immediately surrounding her to hear her voice seething. Katriana however didn’t manage to say anything further as Kaene introduced himself, and then led them through a variety of winding halls and stairwells to a personal chamber. As the Ecclesiarch conjured a bed for Kumadel’s limp form, and began explaining the importance of the mystery item in the box and the history of recent temple raiding there came a disturbance from outside.

YOUR HOLINESS! DARKNESS HAS FALLEN IN THE CHAPEL, AND A –“

He too was silenced as he fell to the ground in a pile, a dagger still quivering as it protruded from his back. Framed in the doorway behind him stood a tall figure, clothed from neck to toe in black leather armour. His shoulder length black hair hung in dreadlocks, and his well chiselled face showed a hint of elvish heritage. Most prominent of all however, was the tattoo the was superimposed over his right eye, an inverted pentagon with a red “X” within it.

”Hello there Ecclesiarch.” he said with a snarl. ”Now get out of my way and give me that crate before you join your unfortunate brother here.”

Raen and Rael both snapped to attention, drawin weapons and letting loose their own personal assaults. Raen led with vulgarity and inquiries while Rael was more direct, loosing arrows at the intruder.

Katriana moved quickly, trying to bide the Ecclesiarch and others some time. This blasphemer had defiled sacred grounds and her church or not, it was a vile travesty of evil. Katriana gave a silent prayer to Ragnarok and attacked.

“Be gone from these Holy Grounds!”

(KAtriana will charge and attack the Evil Man of darkness. Smite evil attempt, Sanctify Nat Attack, and Exalted Strike.)

Subject: Pray to whatever God you can...

Thondrek knew that this was looking more and more grim by the minute. For every attack made, the tree had another vine ready to replace one lost, and strangle the life from one of his companions, his friends anew. Thondrek looked around, he realized he was really the only free combatant at the moment with enough fortitude and perhaps tricks up his sleeve to reach the tree, the source of the problem.

Thondrek moved as close to the combatants as possible without being in range of the vicious Tree branches. Even as he called out to Elissarae to throw him a vial, he was activating his Healing belt, feeling the mystical energies repairing the many wounds he had suffered this battle. (Using 3 charges for 2d8+? Healing … I think that’s right)

“Lady Bladesingers give me the potion, I’ve a plan to end this now before anymore lives are lost. Khorax be with me on this one if e’er you’ve watched my foolhearty arse before.”

(Thondrek’s next move relies on him getting access to a potion, even if it’s just on the ground at the end of the branches reach… If it helps to speed up combat rounds I’ll post a second one here…

(If Thondrek can get the potion (even if he has to move.. He’ll ~Move, to grab the potion, and Ready Dimension Hop as a SWIFT action using his 1/day ability to Quick Cast so he can D-hop past any AoO’s the tree might send at him… Leaving him with his actual action for the round, he’ll then rub the potion into the tree as instructed.)

(If not, then He’ll move to the edge of the ‘danger zone’ and use his Guisarm’s reach to Arcane channel a dimension hop into Geim or Draven (whomever he can reach, to get them out of reach of the branches without facing Aoo’s himself, teleporting them directly in front of Alyssia for healing.)

should make this rounds posting easy...

CAn one activate their healing belt as a 'swift action?' or what.. Don't wanna do too much in the round if not allowed... (Really can I activate the belt as a swift action, and still move/ attack, or move and cast or yadda yadda)

(Or simply.. no, activating the healing belt is just like casting or using command words.. (I don't know the item that well, just that Ayrn highly recommends it lol)

The Nova shield (And spell from which it is derived), as well as the Penance Spear, are creations of my own Design. Once identified, the shield (or spear) may become more user friendly in a sense. But as was pointed out, using unidentified magic items is a dangerous affair.

Is Thondrek now under 50%?

And I need to talk to Ellisarae (Sp) so.. Brianna is it? About a tatic for getting the potion to the tre in the blink of an eye.

(Allysia will have to heal, because if our rounds are all spent healing, and the vines keep attacking, we'll run out of healing before they run out of vine's I'm afraid.)

(Elissarae has the other potion yes? or is there a free potion now on the ground since Draven and Geim are both down?)

And so it was that Loriel, who erred on the side of caution and stealth, was hopelessly outdone by Artanis’ search for more bloodshed. As the woman kicked down the door, she left Loriel in as much shock as the three orcs on the other side. The room opened into a smokehouse, with great slabs of meat dangling from chains attached to the ceiling. There were entire stags and dear, half of a bison, and even a few chipmunks and other rodents hanging over a large fire pit near the back of the small 20x10’ room. The meat hanging all throughout the ceiling too took up much of the room, and the Orcs themselves were conversing between the swinging before so rudely interrupted.

Seeing the intruder, two of the Orcs grabbed long filleting knives, about the length of short swords, while the third creature in the room, who stood a good half head taller than the other two was still full-mouthed of some disgusting meat like substance. Out of anger for a disturbed meal he grabbed a length of spiked chain used for hanging meats, and advanced on Artanis.

(Enter combat)
(Everyone in the smokehouse is considered to have ¼ cover from the hanging meats)
Artanis moved to engage, but the larger orc in the back bearing the vicious looking spiked chain moved with surprising speed. Weaving in and out of the dangling corpses of once proud woodland creatures.. or the odd goblinoid to find himself he unwilling participant of a game of hide and go skewer… He lashed out with the length of spiked chain with surprising accuracy the chain whipped forward and it met Artanis’ shield with a grinding scrape as she parried the blow.

Artanis shield, which had already been humming with 7 out of the 8 gems alive with energy, began to shake violently in her hands. The hum grew louder, and soon a great thunderstorm emerged upon the polished finish of the shield. Clouds formed and boiled in anger, as the shield grew harder to keep a hold of. In a torrent of electrical rage, the shield reached a breaking point, and from it shot out a great Nova of electricity in a 20’ radius with a Thunderclap so loud that even those outside could hear it as it reverberated up the corridor and into the night Air.

The room was filled with the sickening smell of charred flesh and smoke, and Loriel couldn’t help but jump in start as lightning shot out of the open doorway into the hallway. And smoke immediately followed.
The only sound to follow the thunderclap was the sound of metal circling like a coin spinning in a circle as the shield was dropped by Artanis who then collapsed to the floor unconcious, and spin in a lazy circle until clattering on the floor, the quartz crystals voi of any residual charge.
(The shield has used Nova’ a 20’ radius lightning bolt centered on the shield. I made an intelligence check for Artanis, and deemed she tried to hold onto the shield which thankfully with it’s built in electricity resistance, saved her life. As the Shield just fried everything in a 20’ radius for 32 points of damage bringing Artanis to a total of 0/43HP (thanks to the shields Elec resist 5)

Loriel, shocked at the sudden outburst of energy turned back and had to cover her nose in disgust at the smell of burnt death now filled the corridor.

Kasenarrion, who certainly observed the discharge of energy, and heard the thunderclap, could only look on in worry, as after a moment, Artanis still did not reappear from the destroyed room.

Artanis’ armor was scorched beyond repair, her clothing fused to her skin in many places, and her hair all but gone. Miraculously her bastard sword survived, but little else did. Her blackened pack, to her money purse; which now lay as a fused pile of mixed coins in a slowly cooling puddle with bits of cloth thrown in.

(I’ll be removing a lot of items from her inventory unfortunately as they are irreparable. If Loriel decides she wants the money plate (for it will harden quite quickly, let me know lol)
