Topic: Forgotten Realms: The Unsung Heroes
Subject: Enjoy your time :EDITED

So it was that the companions were somewhat silenced after the outburst which had caused Marcus to cling to Elesia in confusion. Aeistae and Linnix were preparing for their journey speaking of dreams and future plans, while Kasenarrion Loriel and Xaris all prepared themselves in breaking camp, and getting ready to head back on their original quest. Artanis was trying on her newly acquired cloak of black suede with velvet green trim, while Elesia was showing Marcus Sunshine and Daisy, who were more than happy to help sooth the child.

Jared Black was still struggling athough much more meekly against his rope bonds as Kas led him to her horse. Sunfire certainly didn’t look too enthused to be carrying another passenger, but with only his hands free tied low about his waist, it was all the felon could do to hold onto Kas who sat before him lest he be cast from the horse mid-ride.

Xaris once more mounted with Elesia, and Marcus rode along happily in the cart amongst the goods.

The ride was an easy one, thankfully without incident. As they rode, Bartholomew neared Alice to Kas’ horse.
“You know, I’m thankful to have you around, and if no one else will speak it I do so now. If you can learn to accept Linnix and each of these strangers for all there strengths and shortcomings, I’d be happy to have you accompany us on our actual quest. If you’re so inclined.” Bart went on to explain the details of their mission to the keep in the north, and the goblin and monster trouble said to be plaguing the area.

Jared Black only looked on in bewilderment Apparently he wasn’t expecting such a band of would-be heroes when he chanced upon them.

~

They arrived that afternoon at where they had left Marcus’ father before. Amazingly, the older man was still there by his destroyed cart, though he had managed to salvage but a fraction of his wares in a single barrel untouched by flame.

“Father Father!” Marcus cried as they neared the cart. Marcus’ father nearly toppled over from the barel upon which he sat at the sound of his son’s voice.

“Marcus! You’re alright!. Mary? Mary where are you hiding?”

The group engaged in a tearful reunion of Mother, Father, and Son, even though the mother, gently wrapped and transported would no longer be with them in person, Marcus was confident she would watch over them from on high.

Marcus was eager to tell of the companion’s bravery to his father with the companions filling in the blanks as needed.

Bartholomew offered the two safe passage to Castle Tethyr, and they graciously accepted, hoping into Linnix’s cart. Though the ride was not exactly smooth sailing as the rickety cart rattled and rolled across the terrain, everyone was happy as the night came, and left with minimal disturbances, as he group traveled along the road through the night as they had all had plenty of sleep the morning before.

As Dawn crested the following morning, each was relieved and filled with renewed excitement as Castle Tethyr’s, outlying farmsteads came into view. Marcus and his Father thanked Bart and the company many a time for the safe journey, and the Father, whose name was James retrieved from his barrel a coral, pearl, and seashell necklace placing it in Bart’s hands with a stubborn thrust, despite Bart’s repeated mentioning that no payment was due.

“Because of you my wife and Son are returned to me, to not deny me this little thing. That was one of my dear Mary’s finest works, it should fetch a pretty penny at market.”
With a wave of his hand, and a hug to each of the companions, male female or horse by Marcus, the two were off into the Castle grounds, with James carrying Mary across his arms and Marcus carrying the barrel beside him.

As they neared the raised portcullis, Bartholomew reared Alice around and spoke to the others. For those of you who haven’t been here before, for the purpose of our travel plans this is the last supply depot for some time. There’s a wonderful marketplace here, and a garrison of the Army, plenty of watering holes and entertainment options, as this was once the Capitol of Tethyr before it was transferred to Darromar after the war. My dear Aelistae I’m not certain how well you’ll be welcomed here, given the Drow involvement in the troubles of the past, but stick with another and you should do fine I would wager.

Bart looked to the sky and smiled. “We have plenty of day ahead of us, use it wisely, and meet tonight at the Green Gryphon, where I will procure us all lodgings.” It may do you well to head there now, and stable your horses before taking to the streets. I'll have what Magic items we've procured Identified over breakfast and while everyone settles in, and we can decide what to do with them over some good food and finer drink. I don't often touch the stuff save at the HArvest Festival or weddings, but today I'll make an exception."

Elesia smiled and rode alongside Bart. Allow me to accompany you, perhaps my charms may come in handy in fetching us fair price on our services required. With that, the two of them rode off into town.

~Cut to a couple hours later

Bart and Elesia Return to the Green Gryphon, where Lodging and Meal tab's are all settled for each member of the party. along with them they bring both nw information regarding some of their items, as well as a few shiney baubles for each party member as Elesia explains she sold the Large, and encumbersome Ogre's Axe. and Bartholomew explains his near -run in with the law.
~Refer to the q/a and item information

(If there’s anything you wish to do here let me know via Q&A and I’ll answer your many options, Kas, the garrison would be where you’d want to take Jared Black. There is shopping, and wining and dining available, as well as many other role-play opportunities. Bart is going to procure lodgings, before shopping himself)

The immediate battle was over, and though another of their supposed allies had been felled and taken, Katriana could not say she was upset over the matter. The vampire had taken the necromancer as a victim, and thus two evils were rid from this chamber. The fact that the vampire was able to enter the inner sanctum of the high church of the order however was troubling. To Katriana’s knowledge all were sanctified hallow grounds, imbued with wards to defend against such things, either Magnagoth’s followers had been slacking, or the vampire was truly a fell beast ineed.
The battle currently over though, Katriana checked to ensure everyone near was alright, heading over to Raen and bowing solemnly to the warrior. “Ragnarok, blesses those who are stalwart in battle sister” With that she lays hands upon Raen healing her up until he full daily allotment of healing I need be.

Turning to Kaene, Katriana stepped forward. and took a kneel, Kumadel's limp form draped across the bed by her side. "Ecclesiarch Kaene, I know your time is both valuable and sparse in these days of gathering darkness, but please. This here is a stranger, I do not know her name, but I do attest to her valour and bravery. She was felled by a tragic accident which robbed her of the chance to be seated in the Great Halls of those on High. She is so young, please, I beg of you, as a Warder, as a mortal being, as a follower of the light, please spare her from the turmoils of unclaimed afterlife, and breathe into her another chance to do right in this world."

Katriana looked upon the high ranking priest, concern in her eyes. (I radiate an awesome aura of goodness btw) "I have gathered what funds I may to aid in the process, (taking into account Devalero's generous donation of whatever) and I hope it is enough to sway you that this favor of no mere asking will benefit us all in the days to come."
With that, she retrieving the coin purse with the other, and placed it head bowed before her as an offering.

I tend to agree
alright as far as potions and such are concerned, I'll consider them all simple consumables and split them as agreed by you all.

currently you could take a simple 5 foot step or not move at all and shoot two arrows

Or you can move and shoot anywhere along the movement path.

I recall Ginafae saying something about potions. did people wanna consider scrolls and potions as simple party consumable items? speading them out to the members without bidding?

I'm fine with that, i you like her suggestion for spreading them out I'll make the adjustments.

Subject: Updates

Well I havn't managed to update In game yet, but I did do alot of secretary work in the q/a.

Artanis and Linnix both have updated sheets with there new items and the funds were detracted from their sheets and spread out to the others as needed.

It should be noted Artanis that Elesia has 'purchased' your metallic sludge at almost full value, and you apaprently had a amber worth 100p on your sheet I never noticed (so therefor couldn't destroy in the lightnign blast - lucky you!
That when combined with the money gained from Linnix buying her MW Crossbow and Bracers of armor (I through in the two magic bolts for free) eabled you to cover the 500gp cost of 'owning' the cloak, so in essence it is now yours.

Remember, Items found can be appraised by Elesia (results can be posted here in the q/a to save constant posting) and Characte bidding starts at 1/2 market value. So Linnix and Artanis both just bought 1000 Market price items at 500gp, and split the bounty amongst the othe players and bart.

I noticed you've spent over the 6,000 gold piece limit... a Ring of Protection +2 is 8,000gp alone. So please repurchase your gear matching the 6,000gp limit.

The maps for Audalis were primarily done by our very own Yanimari here at RDI. Aren't they wonderful? I just tweaked it a bit to look a little more aged. As for the fancy things, most are just symbols or patterns relavent for the country. Plus they just pretty it up a bit.

Anywho, looks like my opening post is gonna be massive. Seeing as I'm on two pages and I've only covered (and not even completely yet) one character so far lol, anywho, getting back to work now!

Topic: Forgotten Realms: the Unsung Heroes Q/A
Subject: My thoughts on the issue

My view’s on ‘fighters’ and In game information vs out of game information:

First of all, in half the combat Aelistae has been in she’s used her sword, coupled with her bow. Currently I don’t think Aelistae has used a single spell (aside from her Drow racial darkness and faery fire) which were meant to aid her melee combat. She’s used her bow in two battles,( Bandits and ogre) her sword in three.(Spider, Witch, Captive man) and her spells have basically all been healing.

Aelistae as a Cleric can use any armor she can manage ot ger her hands on, though her ‘vision’ as I see it just doesn’t mesh with a hunk of full plate clanging around as she plays a tin can priestess.

Kas, while following the ‘morals and principals’ of a Paladin, is far from one. With level’s in bard ad Favoured soul, your armor choices are limited if you want the full range o your magic at your disposal, and as for hit points? You and Aelistae have the same amount so again I don’t see the argument here.

Now, in game and out of game information:
If a ‘character’ has the mindset to deal with foes up close and personal so be it, that should not reflet upon their hit points, which as a character would have no idea what those were. A normal D&D person does not go about slicing their arms and limb for nicks and hp at a time throughout there life to say hmm, I think I can take 30 dagger pokes, so uh, if someone were to use a sword, and swing, I think I could take a couple of those, maybe a fireball if I’m lucky?

What I’m getting at is who really care’s what ‘class’ is considered a fighter class or not, it ‘s the mindset behind the character that motivates the actions right?

Bart’s a level 4 commoner and he was in melee trying to fight for those he cared for, his HP are pathetic compared to the PC classes, but that doesn’t change anything

Anywho those are my two cents.

So all the views and opinions of the company are coming out over brunch basically.

and possible hair retrieval, there is WAY too much roleplay opportunity here (though I realize it's all gonna be negative at the moment) to pass up. So aside form a little blurb about Artanis getting some health back, I'm sittin this one out until it comes to a peaceful enough resolution (or the dam of emotions breaks) and I have to step in.

SO *Grabs the popcorn*

Let the show begin.
