Daldren felt the enchanted blade cut through the blackness, his swing met resistance though he only the absence of light told him anything was before him. As the creature wailed out in pain, recoiling down the passage Daldren's first instinct was to give pursuit, but he was still the best defense those in the kitchen had against the shadow dread, and until they managed to light the oven, or Danamar, instructed him to proceed, the warrior-priest at his back, he would remain at the doorway.
He feared for Anna, presumed her dead but there was no time to mourn the fallen yet, not while those still living were in peril. So he would wait, and prepare.
(Preparing full two weapon attack on the shadow dread should it return within reach of the doorway. Dodge still on the shadow dread)

Subject: Good morning!
So this morning Mommy and I awaken to a slight variation to how we awaken every morning.. Beautiful Shenae calling out that it's time to get up. "Baby girl come here" this morning was received today however by something resembling a daughter and a smurf!
Sweet little angel thought she'd quietly color everything in sight by herself before she got up to face the day this morning...

As Danamar approached Daldren and Mendez, placing a hand on his shoulder the warrior turned to look upon his leader.
"Take my sword and keep our companions safe until I can join you in the kitchen. The flames from the hearth will summon the dread back and it will not spare any of us unless we manage to banish it somehow. The blade will obey it's name: Naaradkhelek."
Knowing there was nothing else he could hope to do here, he took the enchanted blade in his main hand, swapping his own ensorcelled shadow dagger to his off hand and nodded curtly before dashing downstairs to assist in defending those seeking to wake the great oven in the kitchen.
To be granted Danamar's beloved weapon was a great sign of trust and respect, and Daldren's heart lightened all but briefly at the honour of wielding it, though it sank to its heavy position soon after as the gravity of the situation settled in once more.
With two magical weapons in hand, Daldren removed his own magic rapier from its sheath and set it upon the counter top in the kitchen. As people arrived within he spoke. "Looks like we're going to have to pull out all the stops on this one my brethren. If anyone can wield my rapier by all means put her to good use, she's stronger than most, and sharper too." Beside it he set down a single vial of holy water. "I'm not much of a praying man, but I hear creatures of the damned aren't too fond of this stuff. Make use of it.
With that Daldren took position off to the side of the great stove, and prepared to strike the shadow dread as it entered.
(Full attempted sneak attack / flank since undead are typically immune to sneak attack activate Naaradkhelek with shadow dagger and go to town until I'm torn to shreds )

Since I have two magical weapons in hand, if someone can wield a +1 keen rapier it's on the kitchen table lol.

or the GM allows Raven to be all cleric-like on Mendez.. ignore Daldren's interaction with Mendez and he'll simply go downstairs and try to procure light sources (and make molotov cocktails from the liquor stores)

Subject: Following orders
While Daldren did not enjoy the thought of leaving Danamar upstairs with the injured mage and a bunch of civilians in the presence of the shadow dread. The battle cleric had given him a directive and he would seek to execute it to the best of his capabilities... After he tended to Mendez.
It was still hours from sunrise, but as Irael and the new knightly ally made their way downstairs for the kitchen, presumably to stoke the ovens-- that's what Daldren would have done-- the warrior took a different course of action.
Glancing once more at the corner where the fiendish entity had seeped through the cracks in the boards, Daldren flourished his cloak and knelt over Mendez obscuring both he and the mages' head / upper torso from view.
(As an assassin and having various means to paralyze opponents, Daldren is simply checking for breath/pulse to give an 'alive / dead' response and observing to see if he's under an effect similar to paralysis.)
If he is, Daldren will simply stand up and shake his head saying "Stiff as a board, but alive." Before heading downstairs to assist in procuring light . (Stoking ovens, lighting lanterns / candles etc)
(If he doesnt appear to be paralyzed) Daldren will slip his thumb over the hilt of his shadow dagger, sliding the cap from the hollowed hilt to the side, and let the contents of his potion of cure serious wounds drain into Mendez' mouth, coaxing it down his throat before resetting the cap.

I would presume Raven with the immediate threat taken care of would move to heal the fallen mage... But he's not around to actually post... at the same time, I really dont wanna see Mendez die or what not because RAven missed a post due to the inn being down.. That being said.. This almost goes out of character (as Daldren would typically follow order without hesitation)... but due to technical reasons I have to break character..
I'm going to use a potion on Mendez to ensure his health.

Soooo It would seem to me while a couple people are going to stoke the kitchen's oven and such, that at least currently the Shadow Dread has recoiled beyond the building for the time being.
I'm thinking this is a time for more introductions / making possible plans?

Apparently My life refuses to calm down enough for me to DM on here anymore.. a few tries, a few major hiccups in any sort of schedule >.< Near death experiences, buying a new house, new relationships, work school etc etc.. all that fun stuff just keeps my hands tied, and away from the keyboard to continue to actively attempt to DM anything on here.
So for my current players I do so apologize, and to Tek and YeOlde I'll still post to the two games I do play in. Those I can spare, just all the extra work it takes to DM at the moment I cannot commit and I refuse to run a half-assed anything.
So on that note.. Nomachron is on Hiatus.

I cant reach my computer as i currently have the contents of a 4 bedroom home stored in my home on top of my own things.. My gf and i are in the process of buying a home, hope to be movong in next week sp all i have is my iphone for now...
Daldren wants to help but being unable to analyze the shadow fiend for any sort of anatomy has him concerned for his combat effectiveness. That being said Daldren will attempt to circumvent the entity to place him by mendez' side. Should the creature gain on the mage Daldren sees fit to intervene making full attacks to by Mendez time, though he will only engage it as a last resort.

Subject: Pierce through the darkness....
Daldren observed the newcomer, listened to his words, and saw the body language which made him believe the stranger was not of immediate threat or hostility. Instead however ,there was a presence that seemed to encroach upon his hiding spot, playing on the edges of his senses in the darkness just out of reach. That is until he determined it was 'the' darkness, the very shadows he had sought shelter within that held an aura of evil; of despair about them.
Quickly moving a short distance away and drawing his shield, Daldren reappeared at the edge of the dancing lights. As he did so, in his free hand appeared a dagger swathed in darkness, pulled from the very shadow's itself. Taking a defensive stance he faced the corner where he once crouched and stated matter of factly... "The darkness is upon us..."

Daldren's footfalls were silent as he descended the wooden steps of his lodgings to the common room below. Behind him more followed, yet the sudden implosion of the front door penetrated the darkness as a figure entered, brandishing a large blade. It took less time for the doors lockbar to splinter and hit the floor for Daldren to duck into a roll and meld into the shadows of the room.

Daldren stood by the fire, even as conversation and exchanges of mission briefings, and priorities exchanged hands. Elessarae it seemed would be leaving, called back to the homefront, while a new face, another stranger Tadirien Vanlithe by claim would be taking her place.
Losing members of their close knit group was always hard, and breaking the ice with new ones just as challenging. It took months, perhaps even years for a group to form a bond of trust so intimate, that one held unyielding faith in their abilities, and more importantly.. loyalty and dependability.
Tomorrow would be beginning of that new journey.
Tonight rest was in order, as Daldren always met the day, to welcome the sun when possible. With but a silent nod that passed as a goodnight to those who may have noticed, he withdrew for the night.
Sleep came easily, yet it was not peaceful, nor of any considerable length. Nightmares and terror seeped into his dreams, and he found himself waking numerous times throughout the night. It was still very early morning when he decided good sleep simply would not come to him that night. There was an aura of discomfort hanging about the place, and it set the seasoned scout on edge. Gathering his things, and heading out into the hall, Daldren was met with two more of his travelling companions. Their looks only served to further his suspicions that something wasn't right.
"Rouse the others, for I wager they are in as fitful a state as we were. I'll check downstairs, see if any staff are about.

As Tobias and Kresimir toko to the new passage, with their sole freed prisoner following in tow, the large warrior had hoped to see her and others returned to the light of day without incident, yet his anger still sought to be quelled, his blade thirst for blood.
When they entered the new wing, with more captives held before them, and but a single man stepped forward, Grimm's lips curled into a appreciative grin. Here he was, a man of confidence with an aura of skill about him that was almost palpable. As he chided Kaimelle, Tobias held his crossbow aloft, and Kresimir let his large two handed sword drag along the stonework as he took a step forward, awaiting the 'click' that would start his charge.
(So.. await Tobias' crossbow click, Charge. Give it Everything you Got then Press The Advantage", "Support Party Member: Flanking", and "From Every Angle: Find Blind Spot" for starters)

Posting this for my roomie, Chris woke up last night unable to breathe properly and was taken to the hospital, this is the third trip hes made in a month or so. So they are keeping him for observation for a little while as previous diagnosis / med options dont seem to be working.
