Topic: The Chakran Portal - an Adventure in Audalis
Subject: Thondrek

The Khord moved as though his life depended on it, and surely the truth of the matter was it did in fact depend on his ability to move faster than any living creature ever could. He would have to bend space and time and even then, at the split second before likely he'd never see daylight or taste the finest Khordish ale ever again.

He had the potion, his sturdy feet pushed him forward and then the tree lashed out at him, more vines than he could even count his mind so focused on the task at hand. The branches whipped out to strangle the life from him just as he finished the quickened incantation practiced for just such life threatening situations. His vision blurred, and in the blink of an eye he was no loner treading on marshy round, but instead stood on the thick roots of the tree, where he quickly unstoppered the potion held in his free hand with his teeth, poured it upon the tree and began rubbin it in to the roots and trunk.

The effects were immediate, as the possessed tree floundered and de-evolved back into the weeping willow it once was, it's branches fallin inert, though the viscous goo still dripped.

Thondrek afforded himself the luxury of wipin the sweat from his brow and finally letting out the breath he didn't even realize he had been holding until now.

The goo dripping still seemed to seep into the round and that bothered Thondrek, but he didn't know exactly what to do about it.

"Anyway to stop that Goo?" Thondrek asks to anyone who cared to answer.

He walked towards the closest fallen lizard, avoiding walkin beneath the drippin branches as best as possible, bringing his Moonblade to bare on the neck region of the lizard, happily hackin and sawing through the creature's head as instructed.

Loriel and Kas were trying desperately to construct some sort of means to move Artanis’ body across the gap to relative safety. Loriel didn’t have any blankets or items with which to place Artanis delicate and blackened body upon, and Kas didn’t dare cross the bridge for fear of being caught with no way back.

Loriel stood in the hallway pondering what to do, wondering why not everyone of her companions had come running with ideas and aid, when she heard the unmistakable creaking of wood straining against overused and underappreciated hinges.

As Loriel spun around she was met with the gave of a startled orc, who darted back behind the wooden door just as Loriel fired an arrow his way. Not even bothering to close the door, the Orc’s footsteps could be heard as he fled into the room further down the corridor.

As the coins rained down upon the pond, The creature laughed a hideous laugh though it was apparent he was filled with joy as he splashed amongst the coins, gumming them and swattin at them fom time to time like a kitten a ball of yarn.

He swam to the bottom of the pond, and for a few lon minutes it seemed as thouh he was oing to stay down there playin with his newfound treasures.

Soon after though, he returned, and placed a small wand of ivory with a quartz tip on the bank of the pond in front of Xaris.

"My shiny stick now your shiny stick. You go now, come back with more shinies some time yes?" With tha he dove back into the pond to play with his newfound wealth.

The creature's eyes looked about ready to burst from its oddly round shaped skull as Xaris dumped a large pile of coins on the ground. The creature ummed them happily while Xaris asked his questions.

"Me caught in currant long time pass. End up here. Moss for eating, help me grow. Me always been here. this home away from home.

As the creature knocked all the coins into the water and watched them sink with a shimmer, he clapped his webbed scaly fingers together in glee.

"Shiny shiny!"

The creature swam around in the glittering coins before surfacing once more on the rock in a splash.

"More more! I have shiny stick! You want shiny stick you give more! You want secret treasure?"

(Xaris couldn't reach the rock in the middle of the pond without swimmin out to the rock but I'll work around that.*)

Xaris made his two choices known, and the creature grabbed them and swam back to the edge of the pond and placed them upon the bank.

"Shell reminds of home, and is very pretty pretty." Bag have drinky drink. Me no like you take."

(Xaris can open the pouch and find two and a half potions inside. There are two blue potions and a half full potion of a thick muddy substance) It looked as though the vials once had labels on them but the ink has long been washed away.)

As Xaris offered to trade more shinies for the disc upon the rock, the creature's eyes bulged in excitement.
"Shiny shiny! You give me more shinies I give you disc. You give me LOTS of Shinies I give you Secret treasure."

The creature dove off the rock splashing water onto Xaris as he did, swimming to the edge and lookin at Xaris with its massive eyes. He ran his hands over the belt and gummed the leather a bit between it's massive lips. Lookin at Xaris, he swiped his hand across and knocked the coins into the pool, watchin them twinkle as they fell to the bottom.

"Ooo Shiny shiny!"

Takin the belt without so much as asking the creature swam back to his rock and placed the belt on top with the rest of his treasures.

"Belt tasty, shinies pretty. You take two treasures yes?"

With death and carnage above him, Xaris seemed at peace with the world in this little sanctuary buried deep below. The crystalline waters, the incandescent moss and even the pearly white stone parting the surface of the still waters was a tranquil change to the chaos he lived in.

However as Xaris took in the tranquility, it was apparent that he had shattered that serenity for the strange blue skinned creature hiding behind the rock peering at him with large eyes.

" It is ok, I am not here to hurt you, or anything in here." He repeated himself in common, evlen, sylvan and gnome, wondering if it would some how understand. He slowly walked ever closer, and took his backpack off, letting it rest on the floor. The only thing left on him was the quiver of javelins and the gnomish greatsword resting on his back. Now less encumbered, he walked to the edge of the pool, taking in the greatness of the cavern below him. Even here, below the surface of earth, nature spreads its beauty.

In common, gnome, elven, and sylvan again, he spoke out. "I need healing for my friend. She is hurt, maybe dieying. I came down here to see what I could find, to save her life. I mean no harm, and am only here to preserve the gift that all the gods have given us, not take it."

He stood at the edge of the pool, looking around, with a smile on his face. In the midst of all the chaos above, this sanctuary was laying in wait down here, this beautiful music playing all the time.

The creature blinked a couple times at Xaris, as though he didn’t quite understand what it was that he wanted.

Xaris peering into the clear waters could see clear to the bottom of thee twenty foot pool, the moss giving the water it grew in a slight green glow. Seeing Xaris stare into the pool as he tried to think of how to convey the importance of his needs, the creature dove down into the waters and began picking thins out of small crevices at the bottom of the pond.

A few minutes later, he returned, and placed three objects on the rock. One was a small disc, about twice the size of a normal coin, gold in color though from the angle Xaris couldn’t see what lay on the heads or tails side of it. The second object was a small pouch of leather and cloth waterlogged but obviously containing some objects or another The third, was a seashell, a large conches shell that curved and ended in a spiral horn. It’s alabaster hue was mottled with pink and yellow blotches.

The Strange creature hopped up on the rock behind the items and blinked at Xaris before attempting to speak. His voice however sounded like a man trying to gasp while drowning, his voice raged and with water sputtering with each word.

“My treasures. You want treasure You trade your treasure for my treasure?”

Katriana attacked with all the fury of the heavens, but to see that the proctor of evil stood unharmed, to feel as though she herself had taken the force of her blow was unnerving. Katriana was swept back, her feline reflexes letting her land on her feet and bursting forth in retaliation against the man in black. Claws, teeth, and fury leading her way she rushed her foe, holy power coursing through her veins.

“For the lives you have taken I find you guilty, punishable by cleansing. Be gone!”

(Katriana is attacking again.)

Topic: Whom Gods Annoy - Q/A
Subject: From the PHB's

Rapid Shot [General]
Prerequisites
Dex 13, Point Blank Shot.

Benefit
You can get one extra attack per round with a ranged weapon. The attack is at your highest base attack bonus, but each attack you make in that round (the extra one and the normal ones) takes a -2 penalty. You must use the full attack action to use this feat.

Special
A fighter may select Rapid Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

A 2nd-level ranger who has chosen the archery combat style is treated as having Rapid Shot, even if he does not have the prerequisites for it, but only when he is wearing light or no armor.

Manyshot [General]
Prerequisites
Dex 17, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, base attack bonus +6

Benefit
As a standard action, you may fire two arrows at a single opponent within 30 feet. Both arrows use the same attack roll (with a -4 penalty) to determine success and deal damage normally (but see Special).

For every five points of base attack bonus you have above +6, you may add one additional arrow to this attack, to a maximum of four arrows at a base attack bonus of +16. However, each arrow after the second adds a cumulative -2 penalty on the attack roll (for a total penalty of -6 for three arrows and -8 for four).

Damage reduction and other resistances apply separately against each arrow fired.

Special
Regardless of the number of arrows you fire, you apply precision-based damage only once. If you score a critical hit, only the first arrow fired deals critical damage; all others deal regular damage.

A fighter may select Manyshot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

A 6th-level ranger who has chosen the archery combat style is treated as having Manyshot even if he does not have the prerequisites for it, but only when he is wearing light or no armor.

that Brianna's ot a +5 Bow (+1 and Speed a +4 bonus)... that's 100,000p right there lol

a level 6 ranger has a BAB of +6. Rapid shot allows for two shots fired at the highest base attack bonus -2 and all arrows for that round are fired at -2

In total that's still only 3 shots max. Two of which hit.

Many Shot is a totally different feat with different effects not stackable with Rapid-Shot.

Topic: For Whom the Bell Tolls Q&A
Subject: My Logic

I see this battle perhaps turnin out like a Helms Deep fight. Dwarves and perhaps us trying to quell Massively overwhelming odds in tiht tunnels stairwells and passageways.

My logic behind spell selection is this.

Valendara and Emmy wil hopefully be behind the front lines, and thusly we want the capability to heal, and buff large numbers of allies (PC's NPC's and Dwarves alike.)
That's why there is alot of healin, and some CHants' Prayers and the like available.

Valendara and Vanima also have the capability of potentially stopping large groups of tight packed Orcs or what not with a sleep spell apiece.
Valendara's Grease spell is to help the terrain work better in our favor.

Emmy's Entangle spell is a last ditch effort really, to cast behind us if we should have to flee.

The Magic Missles and Melf's Acid Arrows should be saved for the Larger Targets (Most likely somethin other than an orc, I'm thinking ogres Mages opposing clerics and the like.

Emmy has a Prayer Spell that will allow him to act and move while givin all allies a bonus and enemies a penalty for a few rounds while Dispel Magic will be for the casters you know Vorrioch's gonna throw at us (Since they are on sale and all at rent-a-villain )

SO there's my logic.

Scorcher is out because noone knows it but ...
Valenara should let Vanima copy Melf's Acid arrow and blindness (Very useful) in exchange for something. Perhaps invisibility and ray of enfeeblement.

Anywho, you all discuss.. bedtime for me, I hoe to see a nice spell list of what we'll have for friday when I awaken. *Crosses fingers*

If You want Emmy to prepare other spells let me know and I'll work around what spells you can cast as a cleric Brianna.
