Topic: The Gobber King
Subject: contact kills plans

As usual, the best laid plan fails when the enemy is not following it. Seeing the gobbers doing their best to sneak, Jarvic figured he could educate them on how it is done. Pulling his short swords he moved in behind the nearest gobber for a backstab attack.

Nah, they are not that good of shots, only 23 arrows would hit you.

Sparrow watched the other move down the corridor. All seemed to be going well; until it didn't. Suddenly the dead rat-men began to rise once more as some form of zombie. Not waiting to see what other surprises lay in store, Sparrow launched her arrows at the nearest rat-zombie. "Bad rat, stay dead!"

usually doesn't mean always

they could be a scout party or remnants of a larger band that got into a fight earlier or just a small band out looking for easy prey

In any case they need to "go away"

"They are only gobbers so splitting up might not be too bad. Sounds like a trap might work." Jarvic readied himself for the coming fight.

The trip started well enough, at least for the first 10 feet. Then the fighting began. It seemed their employers could argue with each other at the drop of a hat and likely over the color, size and shape of that hat. Jarik tried his best to tune out the bickering but it was impossible.

When Crow reported Gobbers ahead, Jarik was glad for a chance to do some "hunting" and get away from the brothers for a bit. "Excellent work Crow, not sure how you heard them over the racket here." Jarik gave a stern look at the brothers. "It is best if we pick the place to fight the gobbers rather than letting them pick."

Sparrow will watch the others figure out if the traps are still active or not. No way she will be going in until it is deemed safe.

With the last of the were-rats felled, Sparrow put away her blades. The fight, such as it was, was probably the last easy one the group would face. Ahead a hallway filled with frozen skeletons loomed. Knowing she did not have the skill to tackle such, she simply waited for the others to work out who would go first. Her bow was ready just in case something decided to come crawling down the hallway.

Jarek saw the three companions standing close together and knew that they must be the ones he was meeting for this trip. Walking over he introduced himself, "Jarek" he said as he offered a hand. "Seems we will be working together on this trip. Hope it is an uneventful one."

You could end up with a superhero character with loads of classes if you give them out too freely. I would make them very hard to get. Increase the XP required to unlock higher levels and gain access to additional classes. For example 5000 XP to open the additional black mage class at level 1. Then maybe the regular required XP to gain each additional level. Second unlocked class would be at 2x the normal cost and 3rd class would be at 3x normal cost.

I was but not issue if the other guy wants him.
I could do a rouge or maybe a ranger/rouge. If the DM would be so kind as to generate a character for me that would be great. Anything at all that fits the game.

Why go to the trouble of playing out the TPK? Just in out of of game way tell them they are drifting and that if they feel the game is not interesting then it might be time to quit. If they don't get the idea then pack up for the night.

"Hold off on spells we may need later. We can finish the few survivors off in close combat." Sparrow put away her bow and readied herself for close combat if needed but she was in no hurry to get involved.

Alondas watched as his companions finally finished off the last of the metal creations. It looked like a few of them were rather hurt. "Perhaps in the future we should refrain from touching things that are obviously not to be touched." He waited to see what the next move was to be for the party.

Subject: Rat trap

Sparrow was glad the others had chosen not to rush into the trap set before them. It was always better to turn the tables on the enemy. Plus it allowed for much safer arrow attacks than the dirty business of close combat. Sparrow hardly thought as her arrows sped towards their targets and struck down some wererats. The spell cast by her companion illuminated many more wererats than initially seen. That just meant more targets. Once more Sparrow sent fletched death towards teh wererats.
