What was that horrible noise? Hornet slung his crossbow and held his hands over his ears.  Looking around he saw the Kender swinging her stick and that seemed to be the source of the irritating sound.  He was about to curse her when he saw that the goblins fared much worse than the party.  It seemed the little one had a few tricks up her sleeve.  Turning his attention back to the river, Hornet saw the gnolls charge him just as he felt an arrow bit his side.  The creature were too close for crossbow so Hornet drew is rapier and prepared to attack the nearest gnoll.

The ambush was a success and several goblins fell dead or sleeping but out all of them. As the bewildered creatures tried to figure out where the attack came from Hornet once again readied a bolt. He moved carefully about 15 feet from his previous location in an attempt to further confuse the creatures. Knowing the gnolls ea greater threat than goblins, Hornet sent his bolt toward the gnoll in the river closest to shore

Since Solodad will be using sleep I will give her a signal to cast first.  Then Hornet will target any goblins that stays awake. Didn't change in the game thread but that is the plan

"We have to rescue the prisoners.  Solodad, Ayrn come with me and we will attack the front group to draw attention away from the prisoners and then the rest of you charge in and try to free them.  If you are sucessful, run one they are free.  Don't try to stand and fight, there are too many creatures."  Hornet took out his bow and quickly led his small band to a spot from which to ambush the goblins.  "Ok, time to start.  Target the second goblin from the front as soon as I release my arrow."

I would vote we all attack those guarding the prisoners and try to free them quickly.  If we free them we run away.  Our goal was to free the prisoners not just kill the monsters.  Barring that we split and attack. Attack the non-prisoner group first to draw attention then hopefully the other group frees the prisoners and again we run.  That is a pretty sizeable amount of monsters.

I believe the idea is to check out the cave and try to sneak in this time.  Barring any guards we would enter the cave.

Hornet heard the creature speakig but could not tell what it wanted.  He was ready to move as soon as the binding was done.

"Well it seems we have learned all we can from this creature.  I suggest we bind hishands and feet and then head into the cave.  From what he said we have weakened the garrison and they probably do not expect another attack."

Hornet listened to the answers their prisoner face and it send it was being truthful. "One last question.  When days the next shift report to the pyre?  Maybe e we can catch another small group before e we enter the cave again.  We promised we would not kill this creature and it surrendered and acted in good faith.  I cannot condone murdering it in cold blood.  I suggest we tell it to run far away and watch it leave.  Let it know if we see it again we will kill it for certain."

Hornet agrees that we should ask about captives, what creatures and number are in the cave and if there is a back entrance. He would not support killing a surrendered foe that we made a deal with so not sure what to do with it when we are done.

Luck seemed to have tired of the bugbears and now smiled on the party.  Several vicious hits rendered one bugbear dead and the other badly wounded.  It called out something and Doc quickly translated that the buigbear was surrendering.  "Everyone hold your attack.  Alive he could be valuable" Hornet hoped to question the bugbear and find out more about the cave and what lay inside.

It seemed luck was with the bugbears as Hornet and several others missed their attacks.  But luck was fickle and as Hornet attacked again he hoped for a better outcome.

Hornet saw the ledge and knew that is where the bugbears would be hiding.  Battle loomed ahead but for now it was just a matter of climbing as quickly as possible.

OOC: Using dash so guessing it would balance out with the terrain to be normal movement of 30 ft

Most DMs don't allow monsters as player characters. Had one who did but we were playing the bad things and attacking villages and such.

The ears are just to prove you killed the goblins.  No actual use for them.  No cell phone selfies possible in d&d for proof.

After the initial surprise of seeing falling goblins, the group acted quickly and with weapons and spells soon killed or incapacitated the goblins.  Three lay sleeping but not dead.  The respite was short lives as two bugbears decended the hill but seeing the group and the dead goblins they turned and fled back towards the pyre.  "Quickly, after the bugbears.  Solidad, if you could please dispatch the trash you left slumbering on the path and then join us."  Hornet set out after the bugbears as quickly as possible.

OOC: will use dash action

It was hard to tell if Hornet or the falling goblins were more surprised to see the other.  Of all the possibilities Hornet had imagined, hill sliding goblins was not one of them.  Quickly raising his cross bow he sent a bolt toward the left most goblin.

With goblins dead and a horn sounded it was time to move. "Might as well take the path.  If they know we are here it is the quickest way to get to them and we can move.  Climbing makes us easier targets if they send a welcoming party."  With a fresh bolt in his crossbow Hornet started up the path towards the pyre.   He wondered if the horn was an alarm or simply a shift change.  Did goblins have shift changes?

You get a move and an action.  You could make full move then attack, attack then make full move or half move/attack/half move.  Dash is an action so you could move then dash but no attack.  If you have dash as bonus action you can use it again.  If you have a trait that allows you to take an extra action you can dash again.  Hasted you could dash twice.  Currently a PC can Dash up to 4 times on the same turn using action, Action Surge, Haste action, and any feature that allows you to Dash as a bonus action.

With only one goblin dead the sneak attack failed.  Now it was time to focus on the remaining goblin guard before it could sound an alarm.  "Everyone aim for that goblin in the rocks.  Hopefully we get lucky and kill it quick" Hornet sent another bolt towards the goblin in the rocks
