Hornet will hold formal introductions until we are out of danger.  I figured the new guy was a goliath; I just started playing on in a table top game.  Hope everyone has a safe New Year!

  The stranger laid his hands on Dok and he dwarf's eyes fluttered open.  It seemed the rescue effort was a success.  There was little time to celebrate as the golins appeared from the fog.  "Lead on my new friend.  Everyone follow the tall guy."  Hornet took a moment to send a bolt toward the closest goblin archer before following the others into the fog shrouded woods.

Great to hear mom is back home.

     Hornet felt the ground beneath his feet change from that of riverbed to riverbank.  They had made it across the river.  As he looked ahead he was surprised to see a strange looking person motioning to them and then asking them if they needed help and calling for them to follow him.  "We are indeed in need of help but there are others behind us as well.  It would not be right to move until they catch up and we can all follow you as a group.  Goblins are pursuing them and I must stay and do what I can to cover their retreat now that my companion is across the river."  Hornet laid Dok in a covered spot, hopefully safe from any random arrows and then drew his bow.  Turning toward the river he watched and waited.  Hopefully his companions would appear soon and if any goblins we foolish enough to follow this far he would send an arrow to greet them.

  Hornet continued dragging Dok across the river with Silvers help.  The heavy mist made it impossible to see very far and in fact he lost sight of the goblins and even some of the party members.  All he could do is keep moving and hope the others followed.  Suddenly he heard a splasing in the water near the bank they had fled and a goblin scream spilt the air.  "I believe Boris made have heard my call for help.  We may yet live to see the morning." He gave a slight smile of hope and then continued across once more.  

Anything that kills the goblins is a friend at this point.  Hehe

Hornet made his way across the river with Dok in hand,  Several times he slipped but managed to keep his footing. Focues on getting his companion to safety, Hornet continued across the river hoping that the others would follow and the goblins would be distracted by the spells,  He could not see the others but trusted the would follow the plan and he would wait for them on the far side.  

If you want to help drag Dock that is ok. Was thinking I was to only one really close to him

With Dok stabilized, Hornet focuse don how to get the rest of the group to safety.  "Pull back!!  Everyone to the river!"  Hornet motioned to Thoaran to help him pull Dok to safety then caught Soledad's attention.  "Do you have any spells that might throw them off our trail?  Maybe make them think we are going upstream instead of across?"  Hornet moved into the stream and made his way across with Dok.  When he was most of the way across he called out in a low voice, "Boris, are you here?  We could use your help."

OOC: moving 45' if Thoaran helps or 30' if not

I think a good plan would be the dancing lights and the minor illusion to make it look like we are going upstream while we actually go across.  Hopefully we can lose our pursures in the fog.  I might call and see if Boris is around as well.

Might I suggest we flee into the mist across the river?

What? He is not currently fishing in the river when he hears a battle and grabs his sword?    Great to have another player.

Kind of hoping the others can hold the line for a turn.  Then it is flee!!!

First chance Hornet has had to do a medicine check or really anyone as they were busy trying ot get out of combat.  Hopefully eitherHornet is sucessful or Dok saves.  

With the group finally behind a bit of cover and with the new dwarf holding the gap it was time to tend to Dok and hope it wasn't too late.  "Thoaran, help our friend hold the line and I'll see what I can do for Dok,"  Hornet took a moment to look over Dok's wounds and did his best to stabilize his companion.  Dok had been bleeding for some time and the dragging probably didn't help.  With luck, Hornet could keep him from slipping into the darkness and allow him to return and avenge himself on those who had gotten the best of him. 

OOC:  Medicine check DC 10 with a +1 to roll.  

I'll do a medicine check and you help hold off the hoard.  

Hornet or Thoaran could try a medicine check to stabilize Dok and keep him from dying.  Hornet has a +1 to his medicine check, what about Thoaran?  Whover has higher can do the check witht the other one helping to increase the odds of it working.  

We can go through the opening and see what the monsters do.  Might have to keep moving if they follow.  

Good call by the dwarf.  We had bravado going in as well.  Might be time to rethink strategy if we live.  

Hornet grabbed ahold of Dok and helped drag him along.  With two of the pulling it went a bit faster but still not as fast as the closing enemy.  Hopefully they would give up the chase if the group got to the river.  Could the otter help them if they got there?  Many questions crossed Hornet's mind for for the moment he remained focused on the task of saving Dok.  

I would think you would get a new character.  I would hate to see you gone

 Thoaran and Silver had manages to reach Dok and start pulling him to safety.  But more enemies emerged from the cave.  They needed help.  "Soledad, get to the exit, I am going to help them with Dok"  Hornet moved to meet Thoaran and Silver and help drag Dok to safety.
