Hornet cursed the gnolls luck as his bolt went wide.  Steadying his breathing, he knocked another bolt and once more took aim at teh gnoll.  Hopefully it would fin it mark or at least distract the beast so the others could rescue Dok.  Time was running out.

It was a typo, Hornet is in the back.  Thoaran is with Silver dragging Doc.

Right now Silver is goinf to try to get to Dok and Thoaran is free to help or not.  All up to you.  The new dwarf is charging, Solodad is casting and Hornet is shooting a crossbow bolt.

You can't attack and drag.  You could have one person drag abs one person try to defend or just both grab and run

'Dwarves, all bluster and axes" thought Hornet as the newcomer bellowed about running away.  Soon enough reality might set in and if the dwarf was lucky he would join them in a planned retreat and a more thought out return.

Thoaran and Silver have the best chance.  Soledad is too far away and too squishy.  Hornet is too far away.  If we are lucky the charging dwarf will attract the attention of the bad things.

Could ranged weapons folks move back towards the fight above the gulley?  Basically flanking the goblins and gnolls from an elevated position?  Lots of good party ideas.

Maybe Thoaran could get Dok.  He is most likely to survive a hit.  The new dwarf might be a distraction.  Or he could ask that new guy for help getting Dok.

Hornet retreated; right past a charging dwarf.  Who he was or what he was doing here was unclear but not his hatred for the goblins.  Taking stock of the party, Hornet saw Dok was down and the rest of the group was in various stages of retreat.  "The heros always fall.  Why couldn't Dok follow us?  No matter, we will try to cover him from here.  Any spells you can use Soledad?"  "Silver, can you get to Dok and drag him out!?" Hornet hoped those closer could hear him and find a way to gather up their fallen comrade.  Then he sent a bolt flying from his crossbow towards whatever enemy he could target.

Those two would have to disengage and retreat. My suggestion was based on the idea that at least the party members are one hit from dropping

Hornet felt the wounds piling up.  Looking around he saw that the others were in rough shape and adrenaline more than anything was keeping them in the fight.  There were just too many of the enemy.  "We need to retreat; numbers are against us.  Back to the stream and hope the goblins are hurt enough to not pursue!"  Hornet turned and led the way.

That was one lucky gnoll.  When two rolls added together don't even hit groaning is definately in order.  Thanks for the clarification.  Makes good sense.

Just wondering how you do attacks on sleeping individuals.  You said roll was not close but I have always had DMs that had anything but a 1 hit as they had no ability to move.

Also could we get a recap of where the party stands as far as wounded?

Hornet once more turned to his crossbow and aimed at teh magically slumbering Gnoll.  Hopefully one last bolt would finish it.  Then he blended into the shrubs.

My suggestion is we move back 10 feet to cut down on chances of being hit by arrows.  Those who can use disengage would not suffer an attack of opportunity.
