Topic: Dark Sun Q/A
Subject: Actions

Looks like we are going with a short pause to watch the action. Maybe give us 2 combat rounds of details on how the fight is going and then we can make our decision.

Subject: Post games are a bit slower

The game is not too slow. Post games tend to take longer. It can take years to play out a couple months of game time in some cases.

Ghlahn continued to keep an eye on the rear but was now focused on getting to the door. "You guys see if you can get that door open when we get there and I'll make sure the Sec-team leaves us alone long enough for you to do it."

Ochit sees no reason to help the elves. But he will go along with the group. Probably move slower than those eager to help.

Ochit has noticed the number of arrows in the bodies of the 8 and wonders how they keep fighting and do not die. We should leave quickly as the 8 cannot follow or attack us while they are giving the elves. We need to find the items first. It may not airways be ready to understand ochit and that might be on purpose. You can airways ask in character.

Ochit heard the sounds of battle and moved with the others to investigate. Soon they saw a group of elves, the ones from the village, fighting some strange looking individuals. "Much sticks in. Not die. How keep fight?" Ochit pointed towards the group of eight. "Go fast. Follow no when fight. Find first."

Ochit was more than surprised at Morrigu's reaction to his sunglasses. He expected her to complain that they were not pretty or that they couldn't possibly work. Giving him a big hug and dancing with glee was certainly better. Ochit smiled. "Like happy, anger pretty not" rnrnHe heard Trossach compliment him on his talent. "Know stuff. Speak sounds to tell hard. Hope help." Looking at Morrigu and her sudden change of temperament, Ochit added softly so Morrigu would not hear "Right head not think".

Subject: Moving the game along

For post style games it is often a good idea for the GM to "fast forward" to points that require player input. Any background can be given in the GM post up to the point of player action. In other games I have played we set a standard description of how we camp. For example: When we camp we always gather wood for a fire, cook our meal and then set watch in the following order (names of who is on watch and the order of watch). Same thing for marching order. The only time we spell out anything else is if there is a change. The GM can then skip past the need to get everyone's input each night and if there is an occurrence he can figure out who was on watch or say it happened while gathering wood or whatever. He gives all the info up to the point the players take over for their actions. At times we have skipped over several days when it was nothing but travel and there were no encounters. Just a thought.

Ochit made sunglasses like the ones here.

As they made camp. Ochit took out a small piece of wood, a piece of string and his knife. He began to whittle and about 30 minutes later his work was complete. Approaching Morrigu, he held out his completed project. "Wear day. Make sun not bright. Help." In his hand was a pair of sunglasses used by his people.

"Fire for not freeze. Who awake?" Ochit knew that without a fire the night would get very cold. Although he often traveled alone at night he would feel better if someone was awake watching over the others. Well at least he would feel safer with most of the others watching over him.

Once more Ghlahn sent a bullet towards the security team and watched as his targets head snapped back. Most likely it was a killing shot. With little time to waste, he continued to follow his companions. They were encumbered and he was not so keeping up was not a problem. He quickly caught up and then turned and took aim again. As long as they were being followed he did not feel safe. "Keep moving. I'll keep them busy and clear our six."

Ochit looked at the drow. He wondered if she always caused trouble. "Walk day. Shade can make. Go, stay. Choose." Ochit gathered his things and moved outside, ready to depart.

I say travel during the "normal" travel time; aka day.

With respect to Morrigu I also hope that party conflict is not the intention. I can deal with the weirdness part but not if it gets too far out of hand and causes issues for the party. Players know the thoughts, characters do not but...

Ochit by no means likes her and his sense of fairness and hatred of bigotry are what drove his actions in that last encounter.

Ochit was pleased the merchant seemed to realize his error. But then, Morrigu spoke a thinly veiled threat. Quickly the merchant offered to sell three days supplies for the price of two.

"Sell right. Not cheat you." Ochit did not want to take advantage of the man. He simply wanted to correct an injustice. Looking at Morrigu he added, "Manners bad. No make scary talk. Better than him maybe not." Ochit turned and walked back to join Klick.

Ghlahn saw his bullet slam into the security team member but was not pleased that the man managed to open the gate. Moments later a Hellhound raced towards the security team. "That should slow them a bit." he thought. "Never can have too much slowing though." Ghlahn sent one more round towards the security team and then followed the others.

Ochit heard the man call their companion a freak. Although it might be true, it was impolite and Ochit had heard the same many times. he would not let anyone talk about another in such a manner. Walking over he looked at the merchant. "Word bad. Girl not freak. Sorry say."

While Blossum did her thing, Ghlahn sent a few rounds towards the security team. Perhaps it would cause them to pause a moment to find cover. Then, following the others he continue to flee.

"Walk night. Moon not hot. Go when group say." Ochit often traveled at night to avoid the heat and to reduce the number of people he encountered.

Ochit made his way to one of the merchants. "Food, 3 day. Not cheat price" One look at the size of his customer was enough to convince the man not to try to take advantage of the slow talking one. After paying for his food, "Thank. Good man." With supplies readied Ochit waited for the others to be ready to leave.

OOC: Please deduct the going rate for food from my purse.

Are there any other people or any traffic in the tunnel or is it just us and the police?

We could turn and fight now.
