Subject: In severe danger
Billy could hardly believe his luck when his foe called off the archers in order to engage in single combat. For the first time in awhile Billy felt he just might have a chance in this fight. Moments later he felt his sword bite deep into the man's hip but what good it did he did not know for in return he received a savage blow.
Finding himself on the ground bleeding badly and in intense pain, Billy fought to remain conscious. 'Get to your feet fool or you have no chance!' his subconscious screamed in his mind. Leaning heavily on his sword he managed to haul himself to his feet and was greeted by a feeling of light headedeness. As he blinked and struggled to focus he caught sight of the enemy leader also attempting to rise but unable to due to a ruined hip.
Billy slowly made his way towards his opponent and stopped just out of sword range. "I am sorry, you do indeed have honor. I salute your courage." After a moment he continued, "You have been a most worthy opponent but it seems you shall not rise again. You deserve a swift and honorable death, one I now offer. Or you can choose to die slowly of starvation or infection. Make your choice quickly while I still have strength to swing this sword." Billy waited, ready to offer a coup de grace or defend himself if necessary. Inwardly he hoped he could remain upright long enough to see this fight ended.

Billy grimaced as he felt the blow from his foe. So far it seemed the other man was having better luck in this fight. All around him, Billy's friends were scoring hits but he had contacted only air. As he tried to shake off the pain from the sword blow, an arrow glanced off his armor. "So you have no honor, afraid you cannot finish me on your own and would have your cowardly archer do your work for you huh?" Billy hoped against hope that the man did indeed have some honor and would call off the archer, but he didn't count on it.
Billy once more took aim at his foe. As the man had managed so far to elude him, this time Billy aimed for the man's hips for they had littel chance of moving to avoid the blow. Billy knew that if he did not even the score soon he would be hard pressed to survuve this fight.

Billy felt the shock thru his arms and into his shoulders as his sword made contact with the leader's shield. The leader called out that it was Billy and his copanions who would die unless they surrendered their companion. Almost laughing Billy called back, "No my friend, we shall not fall this day. Perhaps you didn't notice your ranks have been thinned already and it was only a lucky block that kept you from joining your now dead companions. Why even if we gave you the girl she would probably prove too much for the likes of you and kill you in your sleep." Billy did his best to gode the leader into a rage for once a fighter lost his comcentration and let his emotions control his actions he was doomed.
Once more Billy manuevered his mount in an attempt to avoid receiving any major blows while looking for an opening of his own. Seeing that his last blow staggered his opponent a bit he focused his efforts on catching the leader off balance if possible in an attempt to unhorse him.

Subject: Another friendly group.........NOT!
Billy was less than thrilled that the strange visitor spoke not a word to the group. He was even less happy when it chose to follow them as they broke camp. However the most disconcerting thing was that the group apeared to be OK with it. As he rode, Billy kept one eye ahead for danger and one eye on the stranger.
After several hours of riding a group of riders appeared on the horizon; humanoid as best they could tell. As teh two group approached each other the leader of the riders called out asking what they were doing in this region. before any could answer; he spooted the stranger and that pushed him over the edge. Moments later war crys rent the air and the riders charged. Apparently they were done talking.
Billy found himself attacked by two of the riders; one of whom was teh leader. Taken by surprise, Billy reacted a bit slow and a thin ribbon of blood appeared on his arm and leg. Ignoring the underling for the moment, Billy attacked the leader. As he did he called out, "I have no quarrel with you and do not wish to see you die this day. However if you do not call off your attack you will all surely die." He didn't expect his words to have any effect but at worst it might give the other man pause and slow his next attack.
'Seems our new companion is not a popular fellow. What his it and why did it so enrage these riders?' Billy wondered to himself. He would certainly be keeping a close eye on it in the future.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Billy addressed the 'visitor' in a tone that showed no hostility but did convey urgency. He waited for an answer, his sword drawn but held in a manner that conveyed restraint.

I am currently in the middle of moving (left Arizona on Sat, anm in San Antonio this week and finally get to my new home in El Paso this coming Sat so my books (all 2ed anyway) are not available. A list of spells would be excellent. Thanks for the info on 3ed changes; I will be learning the rules on the fly.

Looking thru the possions listed I noticed bolts and short sword: are you forgoing the restriction on clerics of blunt weapons only?
A detailed description of the physical appearance of the character would be pointless as he makes sure to change it often.

Sounds like a good sneaky priest to me (a church sponsored spy if you will).
I agree that he would certainly be on the dynasty path. A gatherer of information as requested by the church he would not be above selling information for personal gain; especially if it was not 'exactly' the info he was sent to gather. I see him as one who listens often and rarely offers information but when he does it is important.
Did I read it right that clerics of this type can eventually cast a few mage spell?
Perfered weapons would be staff and sap; one for disguise purposes the other as it is easy to hide.

Subject: 3/2 sounds good
A lvl 3 cleric / lvl 2 rougue would work. Best scores to wisdom, dex, con. He won't be a fighter type.
As for the skills/feats; whatever you think is good (maybe disguise and other sneaky/cat burgler things).
I can play anything.

I am not a 3ed player so if someone could generate a rogue/cleric character for me I would appreciate it very much. Elvin (or the Audalis version of an elf) More focused on the cleric side than the rogue as I intend to play him as a sort of info gathering priest.

Could it be the one sent to aid them? After all that had happened so far he half expected that their helper would be 'interesting'.

Navel lint is used in the manufacture of nuclear weapons to cushion the individual atoms inside the casing so they don't rattle around and get damaged prior to detonation. This information is very "hush-hush" and I am not even supposed to be talking about it. If everyone knew about this the price of navel lint would skyrocket. Subject: A sample.
Drew Vertiglade shifted his gaze ever so slightly when the door opened and the flashing lighning intermitantly oulined a figure in the doorway. Few had come this eve and he had watched them all as they arrived making mental note of each. 'Hopefully this one has word for it is getting late." he thought to himself. For most of the day he had waited at the table in the far corner of the inn and though he had picked up a great deal of information in the form of local gossip he was growing a bit impatient.
Would he be allowed to take on a quest? His stature would certainly not work in his favor for few would think a human of slight build who walked with a bit of a limp a candidate for adventure. It was his mind that was his strength but those sent to recruit were usually more interested in heavily muscled types who could swing a sword. On rare occasions he had managed to find those who understood that someone with his talent for listening and gathering information could be useful; of course his other talent usually came in handy as well. Few chose the combination of skills he had come to enjoy as they seemed to be at odds but he found them to be rather complimentary. 'Wonder if they have ever even seen another rougue-cleric before.' he thought as he watched and waited.
I am not real familiar with Audalis but if you are happy with the sample I will do some reading on it. As for character creation I might need abit of help as I am a 2ed player (for about 21 years now) and do not have much experience in 3ed. I could play the character described above or anything that is needed really as I am pretty flexible. If you want a bit more writing sample I am in Trilogy War and Garyon-Reign of Darkness.

Billy heard Alea ask "Now what?" as he tended to his horse. "Well I guess we go and find the evil thing and destroy it." Billy had a knack for stating the obvious. "I don't know about the rest of you but I think it is an honor to have been chosen for this quest. We have a chance to make things better for an entire world if we succeed and I do not intend to fail." Sometimes it was nice to have a simple outlook on life where things were black or white.
