Alondas followed the others into the room and looking around saw that any search would likely be futile. Someone or something had already ransacked the room. News of another door caught his attention and he took a position where he could watch the activity there but no get in the way.

"Open a possibly trapped door? Not I." Alondas smiled. "Opening both before choosing a direction does seem like a very good idea. Unless of course the first door releases some form of trouble."

"Well, I think that was enough excitement for now." Alondas said as the lizardman who woke was put back to sleep. "I don't see anything to gain from them so perhaps it is best to move along to the next room?"

We used the tapestry ties, yeah thats it. Hehe

So if no binding materials allowed I suppose we need to play it that they are being very closely guarded.

Alondas had to laugh to himself at Mal's little babble. Seems someone else realized that interrogation required a common language.

Alondas watched as the creatures fell asleep one by one. "Excellent casting Wembley". He had to admit he was a bit surprised it had been that easy. Now Crow was calling for the creatures to be bound and perhaps interrogated. "Did anyone happen to understand what language they were speaking? If not they are of no real use to us. Although I am not overly fond of killing the defenseless, I am less fond of leaving potential enemies around to find us later."

Subject: unexpected company

Lizard men was not at all what was expected, especially ones so primitive as these. What were they doing in a wizardly area? Why the one so mad? So many unanswered questions. Alondas made a "go ahead" gesture in response to the suggestion of a sleep spell. But just in case it did not work as well as a glass of warm milk, he kept hidden and ready.

Alondas looked over the room, the one they expected to find, and saw it was not as they expected to find it. Things were scattered everywhere. Obviously they were not alone in this maze, or trap for he was not yet sure which it was. Crow laid out a quick plan to ascertain who or what shared the room with them. Alondas was more than happy to leave the sneaking a peek stuff to the thieves. He took up a position towards the rear with good cover available and waited to see what happened next. As always a spell was poised on his lips. It could be friend or foe but he had found that it was better to err on the side of foe.

the fun of lawful evil is they obey the law, but will do everything they can to twist or bend it without actually breaking it. God checks are very useful for evil characters, and usually they are not pleasant reminds like from benevolent good gods.

Topic: Make an Evil Core Class!
Subject: One way

I played an evil character in a non-evil group for several years. It worked because my character viewed the party as a "tool" to accomplish his goals and so would not hurt them. Also, he knew if found out he would not last long.

If you do an evil group, make them lawful evil and all sign a "no-kill" type pact.

"I wonder if the portals always lead to the same location or if they are random. Perhaps we should try retracing our steps? That might shed some light on how they function and if all the rooms reset once we leave."

AlĂ´ndas looked upon the room, the same room they started from. "Looks like we have come full circle." He wondered if the portals always led to the same locations and if they reset after being visited. "Well, what now? Do we try again?"

Life with Cidal could be called many things but boring was not one of them. A flurry of fingers met a bank of buttons and things got interesting rather quickly. It was the arrival of beholders that seems to break Crow's patience and he called for the two to step down. Amazingly they actually did. Alondas heard Crow call him to help watch and he made his way to the platform.
