"Well I am glad that is over. Didn't exactly like being left to explain everything. Not my sort of expertise."

Turning to Justin, "Justin, is it? Greetings, I am Brianna Stormrider, of the Stormrider clan," Brianna offers, then adds, "Not that you would know anything about that."

She turns next to the Drow . "Glad that things have been straightened out for you. I can't do what Lorae can about seeing people as they really are, but Flame can and he tells me....sometimes...when it is important."

"Yep, yep," comes the high voice of Flame from above the table. Looking up one can see him hanging by his tail from a heavy blacken beam above them. "I am good, now I get dinner and my own drink."

'Ooops he suddenly calls out as he seems to lose his grip and drops like a stone down from near the roof.

Brianna half stands and leans out to catch the falling dragonette, but just before he crashes into her hands he begins to drift like a leaf in the wind and difts the rest ofs the way gently twisting in mid air he lands in her hands.

Flame tee hees at Brianna. He looks up to her with a bright shiny eye, and giggles, "Got'cha."

"No, I have you, you pesky critter. One day I am going to not do anything, just see if I don't." Brianna grits her teeth, but her somehow voice doesn't quite match her stern look at the tiny flame red dragonette.

"Ah you like me," comes the high pipping voice, "I know you do."

Brianna just hrrumphs, "Huh" She then turns back to the others trying to ignore Flame and pick up where she left off.

"This is Vatta, she gesture to the quiet woman, and this is Xuor," she points out the ranger to the newcomers, "and of course Lorae whom you've met."

The mage who had called out to her still stood their looking about him making no move to help or move away. Bronwyn certainly could use some help and she was not backwards about asking for some from a stranger even one who had challenge her. However revealing herself since she could see him was low on her list of things that needed doing first.

"Fellow, since you can see me and you are just standing there, why don't you help me. Then I may have some time to disspell my invisibility."

Bronwyn didn't think she was that threatening that the man might fear her especially since he could see everything she was doing. Of course he might misinterpret it, she thought thinking about his point of view. They had just been all involved in this fight and the fellow might be quite jumpy. He certainly was undecided about what to do next, it appeared from the way his eyes and heads kept swinging back and forth to various groups of others standing about the bailey of this goblin keep.

"You have nothing to fear from me," she adds, if that might persuade him that she is no threat to him. "A man is hurt over here. I could use the help."

Truly the young woman, still invisible to the others, was not physically threatening. She was a diminutive figure in sturdy long vest over woolen pants, soft boots, and woolen shirt with a thick furzed wool cloak lined in fur but unadorned with any embroidery or fancy trim. The sturdy heavy woolen clothes ere a contrast to the delicate build of the young woman. She was shorter than some elven woman and her fine features though definitely human did not fit the her plain clothes. She carried no visible weapons except a simple belt knife on her belt.

Bronwyn heard Elendil's call out, she understood what she said but not why she did. Of course they were not in the forefront of the battle. How stupid would that be; a mage, in the forefront of a battle. She knew Elendil had been eager to join in the fight against the goblins and when she saw the drow had taken her on too. But why did Elendil sound so, well, almost angry. Bronwyn turned away and continued her ministrations. "One thing at a time and then all will be finished eventually." Her Grandmother told her many times when she was young. Fate was first. His needs helped her to keep herself focused on the here and now and not on her recent fears and sadness.

Bronwyn was focused on Fate as she discharged her three charges in her belt one by one. From not too far off she hears, "You! I can see you. Dismiss your illusion and let the rest see you! Like we asked of your colleague, who are you and what are you doing?"

Bronwyn turned her head only to regard the man who seemed to be looking directly at her, though she was still invisible, she frowned a bit but continued healing Fate.

However, not wanting to draw any mistaken attack on herself or Fate. Bronwyn spoke briefly, “Names can wait, sir, Fate cannot. Now let me work to save him..”

"She laid a comforting hand on Fate’s head gently smoothing back sweaty and blood soaked lock of hair that fell over his face. “Be at ease. I am here to for you.”

Bronwyn’s grandmother had taught her the simple healing arts of the farm used on people and animals. She always said a kind word and just being their was a great boost to the ill and injured as good as salves and potions, be it the farm cat having kittens, a cow struggling to birth a calf, or her sister-in-law giving birth to her nephew. She had helped to treat them all. At one time she thought she might have taken up the healing arts and served the Goddess as a cleric, but then the magic awoke in her when she just begin puberty.

Then she heard, Elendil speak to the man as she made her way over to where Bronwyn crouched beside Fate.

"Elendil comes and will help me get you to a place of safety." Bronwyn tells Fate, though she is not sure how much he can hear or understand.

"You there, Sir," Bronwyn calls out to the man standing nearby who had demanded her name, "if you have nothing better to do, why don't you come over here and help us."

Bronwyn was never so glad to be invisible and creeping along the wall of the keep was a few remaining goblins and trolls bolted for the northern gate where she had just entered. Nervously bitting her lips she started her search.

Dead goblins lay all about her singly,, in pairs, triplets, and various larger groups. She wove her way through them as deftly as possible dodging in and out of the mounds of dead. She had to keep telling herself. “They’re dead, they’re dead, please Goddess let them all be dead, then hastily amended her plea,, but not Fate.”

Bronwyn, finally came across an outstretched hand--a human hand. He was partially buried under s mound of dead goblins, Bronwyn steeled herself to drag one and then another off Fate. She was reluctant to touch them but the sooner an unpleasant task was started the sooner it was finished. Her grandmother had told her that. And her need to find out if Fate is alive outweighed her trepidations. She heaves over a dead goblin’s corpse from off them mounds of corpses to reveal the still form of Fate. He was bloody and motionless. She was bending down to check him for signs of lift when he opened his eyes with some difficulty--they kept wanted to shut. She could see him grimace painfully as her tried to move but gave it up to just stare about him.

Of course, he could not see her she was still invisible.

“Fate it is me, Bronwyn. I am here, but invisible. I can heal you a bit if you will let me.” Bronwyn said as she reached out and touched his shoulder gently. She then begins to use her healing belt to heal Fate. Using one charge at a time, she will bring him back up, which she knew took longer but it would be the most efficient use of the charges she could use that day.

Out of nervousness, and a need to talk to someone, she told him about what was going on about him. “The goblins and their ilk are all dead or fled but only a handful. Bolikar is dead, you mission is completed. The Drow priestess is dead, Elendil shot her out of the sky. There are some other people that I can see standing about here but it doesn’t look like a lot survived.” There looks to be some knight out there too,” Bronwyn finished a little breathlessly.

"Elendil, I need help with Fate." Bronwyn calls out.

Their small group had made their way towards Altair, leaving Bree as the false dawn lit the eastern sky with a dusty rose glow. That there were no clouds herald the possibility of a clear day which certainly a hoped for outcome. The sun peeked over the horizon after they were about a couple miles out of Bree.

Eldarwen hoped their departure and direction went unnoticed. However leaving nothing to chance, she did keep a lookout on their back trail as well as in front of them. Her skills as a ranger she put to use serve the group well as they traversed the wilds. They kept up a good pace for most of the morning and as the sun rose to its apex, they began looking for a place to stop and have a brief break to rest and eat the lunch that the innkeeper wife had provided for them.

A small hill just off the side of the road was decided on as their resting place and they made their way up it. In the distance Eldarwen could make out a village, hopefully it was this Altair.

Conversation was quiet and shared around the circle, the one thing that they did not talk about the strange going on last night. What could one say about that matter? Nothing really that would change anything and so nothing was said. Each of them were handling it in there own way she suspected ot trying to forget it. Eldarwen knew however there was not making it all go away just by not talking about it, b did not bring it up because no one else did.

Without discussion they kept their voices low as they sat down in the tall grasses that afforded them some cover from those on the road. Finishing the simple meal of bread and cheese with a few slices of cold roast beef from the previous night they gathered their belongings.

Eldarwen stood picking her pack that she settles on her back and then takes up her bow.
The group is just about to head down the hill toward the distant village when shouts are heard from below. There is not mistaking their words or tone.

"There they are! Traitors to the King! Kill them!" Eldarwen draw out an arrow and notches it. She draws it back smoothly, the result of long hours of practice and takes aim at one of the men headed up the hill. Her sharp eyes take in all that is going on though and she utterly surprised when the one soldier left below with the frail old warn suddenly draws his sword and runs her through.

Eldarwen lets her shaft fly, straight and true. They have has a definite advantage being at the higher elevation. It will take the soldiers longer to get to them and cost them much effort. Eldarwen might well get several shots off before they can even close to melee range.

Brianna turns and walks over to the Sgt. who had sat down with his men at a nearby table. The servant girl already taking their orders for drinks.

"Sgt. you will be pleased to know that our cleric, Lorae, has the Drow with her, and has said the drow is good. They come now so we can get this all straightened out. I am glad to have been able to get this taken care of for you."

Brianna is glad she hates this sort of thing she certainly not a real negotiator, or diplomat--never wanted to be either. She will bargain with merchants, shop keepers, horse traders and the like but dealing with bureaucracy is just not her forte.

"I go, I go," said and he disappears in a poof, truly it is a poof and slight slapping of air moved quickly to fill the void left by his sudden disappearance.

Arriving a moment later on Brianna's shoulder though still invisible to the eye of others including Brianna. Only she felt his weight first and then his metal presence in her mind.

"I rescued her, Lorae has her. She is good. They come, Who is Justin? When is dinner?"

Brianna knew he was telling her the truth but not which ones belonged together. It really did not good to ask Flame to clarify what he had said, she had asked him too on other occasions and his answers often made things less clear.

Bronwyn did make it to the gate, bolstered by the fact she was invisible. She watched Elendil shoot the Drow out of the sky and was relieved that she did not have to face that nemesis of anything good. Bronwyn had never heard of any good about the Drow as a race or culture, in fact, quite the opposite,. Though personally she had never met one, she was firmly convinced she never did want to.

Once at the gate, Elendil call out in some language Bronwyn did not understand. Moved through the gates and then put her back to them as she sidestepped against the wall trying to figure out what was going on and what needed doing. She had a few useful spells left, well perhaps useful it depended on what was going on, inside.

Bronwyn did however have a personal quest. Fate had gone inside by himself, if she could find him is this mess she would do what she could to aid him.

Scanning the area, Bronwyn hoped to see him somewhere. There were pockets of fighting but the hordes of goblins did not seem to be in evidence. Elendil said there were hundreds if not thousands. Bronwyn saw bodies but did not think that there was as many as Elendil had said their might be.

However, she saw no sign of Fate anywhere. She was surprised to a knight in what was once perhaps shining armor fighting the Giant Orcish being that she thought she had killed with the fireball. Apparently, he needed more killing. She thought she might wait to see how those he fought against faired before using up one of her last offensive spells. She could try her wand first though it was not as powerful and her own cast spell was, however that would reveal her to the enemy which was not something she wanted to do just yet.

Instead, Bronwyn decided to keep moving against the wall trying to find Fate. That at least would not reveal her to others. Her invisibility was her best protection right now in the hectic melee of combatants. If he wasn’t standing the next place to look for him was amongst the various piles of bodies. Bronwyn ignored the smaller clumps mostly made up one or two goblins since their small stature could not hide the larger human body.

Not that she wanted to find him in a large pile of bodies but their he might be hidden from clear sight. She steels her resolve in the light that if he is in such a place he could have well be dead already. With all the goblin bodies, even thought not thousands, he might have lost his life already. That made her sad. Elendil and she had spoiled his plan to kill Bolikar and that left him only this time and place to finish his mission.

All she cold do is try to find him and hope that he might just be wounded and in need of help. “Ah Goddess, if he is alive let me find him in time.” So Bronwyn continues her search. She found larger bodies that were orcs and Gnolls but she kept looking. Keeping a lookout for wounded enemies that were not dead yet and steering a path around them.

Oh, yes you asked me who you can trust."

"Brianna is fun she kills lots of bad things. I get lots of gold and jewels. Lorae is good, very good, too good. I like Vatta, she is smells nice and is tricky like me, and Xuor is nice man he talks with animals.

"That new man that twiggled his fingers and made you go away from their sight. I can see you though." The diminuative dragonette says with a sudden change of topic and then flip flops back agains with dizzying change of topic.

"I don't know him. He was here then ran out all upset and rode off a short time ago and Lorae went after him. Did I tell you Lorae is nice? Yes, I did. She is you know. Now he is back. Brianna saved me from the Dark One. She destroyed the Orb of All Dragon Control. I "found" it you know , but I was almost caught by the nasty Dark One.

It was difficult to follow the random comments made in no particular order. Certainly the bit and pieces of Flame's tale or tales, most likely, were not in any logical or rational order, but if one was intelligent one could group various parts together and it all made a very incomplete but strange tale that might fascinated or intrigue those who could piece it together.

"You can trust her, and her and her and him all of them I think. Trust me, anyway."

(Sure, trust him. )

Brianna moved up to the Sgt. "Look Sgt. Right now with the drow gone, whether she is guilty or innocent, makes no difference. She quite probably fears that your treatment might mean she would not revveive justice at your hands."

Brianna held up a hand to forestall the man's response if any, "What I can promise is i will make a good effort effort to make sure she causese no problems by finding her and discovering her intentions is I can.

"Will you leave this in our very capable hands? After all we have proven to be trustworthy and with good intent and actions."

Brianna did not feel good trying to use diplomacy and intellect. Most of her problems she solved at the end of her sword.

How about you get your men drink and dinner on me while I get this straightened out.?"

She knew that did not come out just right even to her ears but she really just wanted to find that drow and get this all settled. Talking about it was a big waste of her time..

Hmmm I don't know? Could you give me just a few more possible choices.

ROTFLMAO.

Perhaps you might indicate what age you would like best to DM. I played Champions before, a little bit, years ago. We played street level superheros it was kinda of neat. I made another superhero called her aurora she got her "super powers from he sun, stars, lights wherever. Darkness was the pits for her though.

One things I am not sure about is that when things get to super powered, reality is kind of lost and everyone tries to out do everyone else and role playing gets kinds of lost. I would thinks if characters were more like the Heroes series, they are mutants or gifted by gods, or aliens, or half aliens and or technology based and they each have a power or tow and by working together they can get things done.

After she casts her spell she looks for a place she can hide behind, at least for a little cover. without armor in the midst of flying crossbow bolts is not a place for a wizardess to stand.

Then explore how those compare with other performing arts. What do they possess that other performance arts allow a performers to express through their art. Certainly acting as your character, developing speech patterns, character responses in a variety of situation, the whole getting into the character sort fo thing. Actors and singer learn languages for their craft and so do role players, some learning fantasy languages such as Drow, Klingon, Romulans, elvish to make their character seem more real.

Role playing has aspects like acting with a bit of chess, or strategy games thrown in.

Just some ideas. Good Role playing gives a person an chance to experiment with different personalities traits and life issues and deal with them and have how "other" react to them.
