Raiel returned the hit thrustining again with her spear. she kept the other up to help parry incoming blows. She shifts her body to get a better angle and to use the door as partial cover. THis situation did not bode well. THey had no real fighting room in here and a complete lack of knowledge of what is around them. of ther the the ten Trollocs in the bigger room.

Round 2
* No hit Raiel rolled 8+8=16

"You know your skill best." Brianna nods as she understand what he is saying. "Yes, that will work too. Those of us that are more mobile can sneak up hit and draw some Orcs off to a prearranged place. Then we can all hit the ones that follow."

"In fact we could problably seek up better without the horses." Brianna starts undoing her weapons on her saddle in preparation.

Brianna turns in her saddle Yes that is a very good idea. She represses a grin though she thinks in her self that that was what she had already proposed.

"Lets hit one side and then another, never in any repeated order. Surprise a few kill them and ride off before they can respond. It is a good plan." she heartly concurs.

"Lorae rode ahead to warn Ashbenford. IT has some decent defenses but I agree this is a large group. I say we harrass them more actively using bows ans such to whittle them down and put them on the defensive" suggests Brianna. "We could hit sragglers or the head of the line." This hiding in the woods does not suit her much.

Raiel makes a lightning like thrust with her Aiel spear at the Trolloc in the doorway.

The Wetlander was smart to make them come through the doorway at them. They got partioal cover and if they dropped enough in the door way it would slow the others down and limit their ability to attack the four of them- at least for a time. The biggest problem was that there was no other way out of the room they were in except that currently block by a trolloc and back up my many others.

"It is a good day to die. Let us Dance the Spears."

*Rd. 1

Raiel mentions the obvious since no one seemed to following the Red Aes Sedai's instructions, "The red stones," she said then added, "We were to follow them." Then she procedes to do just that but not on the stones themselves but off to one side she moves towards the door. The all enveloping robe she has tossed over her shoulder to hang on her pack. She glances around to see what the other do. Her head still achea and she promised herself she would not again drink unknown potions nor trust the Red Aes Sedai.

Raiel carried the deadly Aiel short spears, with almost two hand spans of sharped steel, in both hands. Her best one in her right hand and the other two in her left. It is the way it waas done. Her grip is firm but not clenched as that would take her to long to change if she needed to throw rather than thrust and parry.

She carefully approaches the door. Not trusting someone else words but her own senses which have kept her alive in difficult times and places.

Subject: Raiel Rising

Raiel Stepped into the inn at almost very close to the time they had been told to arrive. This wasy they would not interact much with the locals. She shook her head uin disgust nder the enveloping garment that Asurii and she they had been directed to wear. It hampered her movement. None of this made sense. From the moment they had been brought before the Wise Ones and given this mission to accomplish.

Being in Wetlander territory was something they had no experience in and they had to rely on the instructions they were given. However she would never, if confronted just scream and cower. Anyone who accosted her would taste the steel of her spears. Of a certainty it would be more than what they might expect.

The second thing that irritated her was that she could not use Maiden Hand talk with Asurii. Not openly, anyway. Nont-the-less she continue with the disguise they had been given because she had been told to, by the Wise Ones. If one where smart, one did not cross the Wise Ones or ignore their instructions. Raiel could not conceive that this thing they were tp find was more important than “Toh” but she would not argue the fact with them—never argue with Wise Ones you are bound to loose.

Asurii and she used their eyes and if necessary went apart to converse in Maiden Talk if needed. They did not speak before strangers.

Raiel was curious about the whole affair. Who they had to meet they did not know THe wosew Ones had been vague and no specifics were given except they were to meet with others. Scanning the room they looked for other that might be looking for others not part of the locals. One table seemed to stand out perhaps it was because those there were not talking to each other or doing mare that having a drink. Raiel watches them watching others, which is why she headed towards that table. A male Wetlander, a Whitecloak sat at that table but that did not put Raiel off her track. When they sat done, Raiel turn her back so that she could watch for any comings and goings. Asurii turn the other way to cover the remainer of the space. HIs eyes steadlily weeping the room and if waiting. This could be the wrong table but whoever they were to meet could find twins more easily than the twins could find them

Raiel notices his eyes shifting about as he looked over who was there. When he lays eyes on the Aes Sedai there was marked—well at least remarked by Raiel, stiffening in his body. His eye focused on the her. He was one of those they had been told to avoid. Raiel shifted in her seat and reached around inside her robes to touch her spears strapped to her pack She waited though not wanting to start anything but ready to finish it.

Finally the Aes Sedai, followed by her Warder. The twins had steered clear of all such pairings as they had made their way her. However this one came directly to their table. When The Aes Sedai signaled them to follow, Raiel stood with as much grace as possible in those lught-forsaken robes, she had even learned a few tricks to keep the most troublesome gathers out of her way. She did not know what the Yurikind were, more than that she did not care except to be as free of these robes as soon as possible.

Raiel follow slightly to the rear of the group keep a watch on them all and on her surroundings. Everything was too close together and the air stunk of too many people in one place. When she started to waver she called out but consciousness faded before she could pull her spears to defend herself.

Conscious returned but she did not stir, the smell was different the ground was not where she had been. There was stillness to the air as they were within walls. She waited unmoving until she felt in control of herself.. First she listened. Initially there were no sounds from within the area. Anything she heard sounded muffled and far off. Cautiously, she looked out to see what she could without moving. Asurii was laying not far away. She heard someone stirring and walking about but could not see them without moving. Gradually she worked the robes away from her hands and arms freeing them to take up her spears.; Once she had them in hand she rose quickly spears at the ready, her robes tossed back more like a cape. She is ready to defend herself and Asurii, from whoever else was moving about--the Whitecloak.

Brianna turns in her saddle and looks back at HIghnar considering his words. She then slips on the helmet she carries on her saddle. Brianna usually only wears on a chain mail shirt and bracers and is otherwise unarmored. After a bit she nods in agreement. She says as she slips off the helmet. "I think we need a new plan. How about Xuor and I move in closer Xuor closst of us all and then the rest of us will follow at varios distances. Now if one of us gets spotted we can turn back leading hem into an ambush made of the rest of us following."

Brainna points to Logan and Xuor, "You two go that way and make as good a count as you can." Her voice is low, but clear. "Highnar and I will take the left side and also do a count. The whole idea of this is to NOT get seen or heard."

She waits till the other two have moved off then with a dagger reaches down and cuts ofdf bunches of ferns and begins to stick them bewtween the pieces of the Dwarf's armor to deaden the sounds of clanking. It also helps hide the armor and gives Highnar the look of an armored bush.

Brianna slips off the mare and then takes off her bridle. THe Goddesses gift will not stray and this way she could fight with teeth and hooves. She turns to the black stallion who does not wear any bridle and slips off his halter also leaving him free to act.

Brianna then takes the new scimatar in her hand and her bow and quiver, leaving the twin longswords on her back. armored with a silk covered mithril shirt, bracers and greaves she carries a helmet but does not out it on for now. she moves in well behind Xuor spacing herself out and giving him the lead. Steathy movement she understands but is not much skilled at. She thinks it best to let those more adapt at such skills lead.

"You can have Flame he can scout for you so you can move quickly." Brianna calls her small repptillian friend from his basket. "Flame you go with Lorae and pick her a ssafe path."

Brianna then laughs and draws her new scimatar. "I can give this new scimatar a good work out. Cleaving orcs heads from there bodies sounds like it is just the thing to test its mettle. What do you think, Highnar?"

"Now, Xuor lead the way. I am ready."

Brianna forehead furls with thought, while she thinks about what is best to do. "Ashbenford is not far from here, elves live there with humans and dwarves, the Orcs might very well be headed there. I know of no other place they might aim for. We shall meet them in battle soon enough Sir Hignar, but I thinks Ashbenford needs to be warned. Outliying farms could not hold off such this many orcs. There is also the possiblity that there are more than just these that were discovered." We might be able to send one to warn the town while the rest of us harass them. Anyway those are my thoughts on the matter." Who else has input into this?"

Brianna vaults from the ground onto her red dmare in a simgle motion. She rides forward. stopping only at HIghnar side. Well Done sir Dwarf. YOu are a different kind from those dwarves I knew in my own lands but I see your spirit is much the same. Raiding is a skill that can be learned and if you don't mind I can teach you what would help you improve on the way. What to you say?"

Brianna carries her long swords on her back her new scimatar rests on the side of her mare in a position ready to be drawn. She rides tall in the saddle her hips moving in synch with her mount. Her bow thouugh is out with a arrow nocked ready to draw. Taking the road they left yesterday to camp she keads the mounted group. except for Xuor who scouts ahead.

The forest is still quite thich the trees large and imposing. Sunlight filters though the canopy as the sun rises in the morning sky and the wind rustle trees causing a shifting dapple pattern of light and dark in the forest.

Brianna takes up her backpack and weapons. "Highnar I made something for you that will perhaps make your time in the saddle much more comfortable."

She walks over to the converted saddle that she had shortened the stirrups on and padded the seat with a piiece of sheepskin. "This ought to fit you better. I would like for you to give it a try. Perpahs we can find you a saddle made for dwarvern proportions we we get to a large enough town."

"Now, let's get breakfast done and hit the road. We have ground to cover." states Brianna matching her actions to her own words. Brianna downs the rest of her breakfast and then picks up her things. She saddles Highnar mount first with the modified saddle. She really did hope that it would work for the Dwarf since she did not want to be slowed down to a infantry pace. Today she saddles the red mare though she packs extras onto the black stallion. After brushing down both well. Flame's basket she ties securely onto the back of the mare's saddle.

When all are mounted she indicate to Xuor to scout ahead and she leads the way back to the road.

Brianna's choice of watch seems to be ignored but she makes no comment. "I will take ther middle watch. Loraw I guess that leaves you second watch.."

In the morning after breakfast adter the loot is seperated and identified Brianna asks for her first choice. "For my first choice I would like the +4 scimitar. It is a horsenam's weapon, I lost mine when my ship sank.

When Highanar sys he will not ride again Brianna frowns. Even with these boots he would not be able to keep up with running horses. Highnar, to never get on a horses back will seriously hinder you staying up with us even with those boots. You would need speed but it will still tax your energy equal to actually running that distance.

My red mare, the gift of my Goddess is an ambler, She moves like a cloud floating and I have spent many hours this morning modifying the seat of Roscoe's saddle to better fit one of your proportions. I would like you to try this combination out before you give up on the idea. I would not want to leave you behind if we had to hurry someplace

Brianna does take care of Roscoes mare to see to her conmfort. She was actually glad to get some sparring in with Highnar. She choose to use a long dagger almost as long as a short sword but not quite. it was not her weapon of shoice but the one she need most work on. Also it made her reach closer to what Highnar's was. She found the dqard a tough opponent his speed neespecially with his short arms and quick strokes, and his power were a daunting combination. When the bout was done she bathed in the river not necessarily in sight of everyone but not out od sght either. She had not false sense of modesty. THe Great Mother made her body as she had all others. Of course she had no knowledge of the customs or mores, of these new lands. But to her nadedness was not a thing to hide.

Her whistle to her horses that gathered about her and she washed them too. Brianna did not realize the picture she made naked in the water with her height, red hair, tanned skin and firmly sculptured body that was feminine but also totally fit and well muscled, THe very vibrancy of her being adding even more to the overall impression she exhuded. There was only a faint scar across her left cheek that marred her unconventional beauty. She seemed totallly unconscious about anyone looking at her, as if it did not matter to at all, which it didn't.

Finially she wrapped herself in a cloak, leaped to the back of the red mare and rode back into camp. There she slipped down and dress under the cloak slipping it off as she pulled a clean tunic over her head. then refastening the cloak she came to the fire. I can take any watch, BUt I would like early morning id no one else wants to.

Whatever watch she take tshe then turns in by simple curling up in her cloak on her sleeping roll. her sword close to hand next to her and her bow and srrow propped by her head also close at hand.

Briann was up early for her watch with a plan in mind to help HIghnar out. Tee saddle was built for a man's proportions not a dwarf's. She had an idea modify the seat of Roscoe's saddle. SHe scrifiece her riding pad that had come from her lands and scupted it fit into the sdalle given Hignar the padding ans shape that would fit him better. SHe also shortened the stirrups so his feet really were supported in them and he could rest his bottome by standing up in the stirrups for a while. SHe had it fitted and ready to go by the time camp was stirring up. THe pot was on the fire, and porridge boiling and soon ready. Tossing a couple handfuls of cut-up dried fruit into the parridge with a dollop of honey for sweetness she finished the breadkfast porridge.

While the rest got up Briann checked out all the horses from poll, to hoves, to tail..

Brianna looks back from what she is doing and calls out another suggestion after LOrae's ah delicate offer "What he needs to do is get up and work his muscles. "Highnar, how about we get in some sword practice or maybe even ax work. That ought to loosen you up a bit. All we did is walk most of the day. I need to practice against one of your kind. They were rare from where I came from."

Thus speaks Brianna, a woman of the Amazon horse clans who was nearly born on the back of a horse, and surely lived most of her life on horseback.

Brianna dismounts easily from her stallion and quickly stips him of tack and equipment. THen she strips her mare setting the horse blankets on top of their saddle to aire out. She turns the mare towards the rive and tells her to drink and graze but promises her a thorough brushing later.

"Any one of you a decent cook. Or shall we just roat the meat on sticks." Then Brianna helps to set up camp. With a small scoop/shovel she cleans out the already made firepit and looks it over before gathering tinder twigs and then any fallen branches. She is quick thorugh and efficent. knowing exactly what she is doing. "Xuor, perhaps you can take wone of your circuits around this place and check out tracks in and out of it. I would like to know what lives in the area and what to prepare for." WHile Brinna works her swords are still on her back.

When she finishes with the camp work she set out her saddles and lays down her bedrool dover with canvas and unrolls that blanket over some raked up needles and leaves.

Then she goes gets the horses brushes, soap and a towel and set off for the river first to groom her horses as promised and then to take a bath herself. SHe moves off with a quick stride her long legs covering the ground easily even though they had been riding most of the day.
