"When the good father failed to ride out with you and the dark young man Septimus went off on his own I continued on and decided you were going to need my skills since you had not real magic user, or cleric."
"Certainly, you must admit you did need me. That Septimus fellow would have been dead but for me."
"Now that the good Father has made it this far you still need a mage, and I am the best one for the task."
"But if you want to get you coat all fluffed up over it I can go home,but make it a group decision. All for me staying, raise your right hand. All for me going home, you keep you hands down."

Subject: Geim to the rescue
Gein Watches the fight even though he moved off to see what was coming up the trail. Elessarae had take two bites from the wyvern. Loda had taken the brunt of the ax blow from the goblin leader or whatever he was.
Geim quickly changed his directions from the trail head with the upcoming goblins and orcs and things, to the goblin leader He runs over to his embattled comrades.
Loda has taken a hard blow and is blooded, as is Elessarae. Malius had been hit too. However, Loda looks the worst off. So his first healing spell will be a cure critical on her. Dwarven legs may be short but Geim covers the ground as rapidly as possible.
Just to mic things up he gives a loud Dwarven Battle Cry as he charges the goblin, even though his target in not the goblin. HE keeps his dhiel up to fend off any attack that comes his way
.
"Kharox's Chosen, Smite the Goblin scum."
His second round he will cast a cure critical on Elessarae.

Probably more than they wanted and perhaps could handle, if truth be told. But it had to be done and they were the ones delegated to do it. She just hoped the Gods knew what they were doing because she wasn't so sure about all of this.

Moraglin seated on her horse already looks down at Dae. who questions unfortunately would reveal the lie she had told to join up with them. Well it is best to face the music hear and now
"Ah, you have caught my white lie. When The Good Father did not join you the day you set out from that last town I decided to take his place. I had been following you for a while trying to make up my mind whether to join you or not. I had been asked but I was busy at the time. Later when I had time I decided to follow after you and see if you had need of me. The good cleric's non appearance gave me the opportunity to join you on your adventure."
"I said he couldn't join you and he didn't. That was not quite a lie,just not all the truth either. You still need a mage with you. So may I continue with you?"

Dae exited the tent when she heard conversation and a voice she had not expected to hear again. She was went out to greet Alex and get to the bottom of the puzzle. Moraglin had mentioned something about him being needed elsewhere.
"Alex, It is good to see you but I did not expect you to rejoin us. You had disappeared and when Moraglin joined us she mentioned something about you have other matters to take care of." offers Dae by way of greeting
"However, I am glad to have you wise counsel with us yet again. Moraglin had said you had other responsibilities that needed looking into. Welcome back."
She is busy dropping the tent and then commands it into her bag. stakes poles and all.
Dae is puzzled though and a bit wary until she cleared things up.. She had sense no evil from Moraglin. But now she had questions.
"Moraglin, You said Alex had to return back to his temple and that you were sent in his place."

USS Charon – DOcking Bay – 14:00-16"30 hours
Lt. Rhiana had chosen to lose herself in her newest project. and new sort of cloaking system now susceptible to tachyon particles discovery. It was a interesting concept and require a whole new way of looking at the problems involved.
She looked at the problems of redesigning a cloaking device as if it had never been solved and indeed the flaws in the current system had not been solved at all--improved in many7 ways., especially what they had just been able to accomplished on board the Cerebus but the newest flaw had not been..
Rhiana had several specially designed programs that allowed her to work with totally new concepts. Recombining what is known and use with different combinations that she could test at least theoretically. Shiarrael
She had brainstormed various new ideas listing them all plus the procs and cons. But at this time ruling nothing out yet. Some seemed promising at first conception but later analysis had revealed flaws. However Rhiana was nothing is not tenacious in her thought processes even in this concept state. Brainstorming was something not usually encouraged in Romulan Science, sadly to Rhiana's way of thinking. They tended to stick with what was known and worked to improve that. Wild ideas and speculations were not a part of their way of doing things. Rhiana had found such thinking archaic and stifling. IT was what make her jump from one science to another is hopes of finding a niche for herself.
However after some time she became aware of what was going on about her. Sienae's's voice speaking brought her out of her own thoughts.
There liason was back and Sienae's was on her feet talking to the Star Fleet Lt.. Lt. Abe Kennedy, she remembered his name, and listen in. Sienae was not pleased with the treatment given to then since their arrival. Andis taking the man to tazk for not being available to interface with her.
Well Good for the Centurion. Rhiana had seen the Start Fleet personnel with replicators for food, water and other necessities and they had nothing. The one person who they were allowed to communicate with was not here most of the time.
They were most likely thought by Star Fleet to be the culprits in the destruction of the Cerebus, not that she could rule that out After all their were the two Romulans that had not survived the destruction and she did not know them as well as the other three, Sienae, S'Talon and Shiarrael.
If Start Fleet just used the brains they were given they would realized that the culprit was most likely one of their own. Anything thing that happened bad would bring instant suspicion down on the Romulans as the most likely culprits. Rhiana knew that the success of the crazy mission would help all of the four Romulans that were left. IT would help them all and take pressure off of everyone of them-of course The Federation didn't know about that part of it.
No it is easier to hate the Romulans and make them the scapegoats.

Subject: Medic on Duty
I posted to the game just to make sure anything Inga can do for help the wounded including herself is done.
About 5 days ago, I was posting late and night to the game, usually it goes through without problems, however when I finished and sent it It didn't and it was all lost. It was a better post than the one I made today, they always are the first time through but most of what I wrote is in this one just not as good.  .
I don't have all the medical expertise, but Inga does  With Kane's help I will tape up ribcage though I didn't risk it with Lee except for a partial wrap from where I could reach side to side over the rib cage. That will help stabilized the rib cage for us all.

"If I could leave her here with you can you take care of her?" she asks the Dwarven leader. "I know is sis asking a lot. but other than that I will have to set her free to try to survive on her own.

Inge made it back with the others by dint using the wall to prop herself up. Mast Sgt Kane with the aid of the Lt and the W/O got Sgt Lee up on a cleared table top so it made it easier for her to treat him.
Inga was thankful, right now that she knew where everything was in her medical kit because she was working nowhere near peak efficiency, her hands were not as steady as she could wish. But routine helped and the careful preparations she had made helped her to get the job done. Right now that was treating the wounded. Lee first in priority, Pearson and she a close second
Inga had stabilized Sgt. Lee enough to move him out of danger zone but she had more work ahead of her. Lee he had taken three slamming blows by the creature. which had slung him "about as if he was a rag doll. Now she quickly, but carefully checks Lee's vital stats; heart rate, breathing, were movement and temp, then out came antibiotics, and other indicated medications and pain killers though she used those latter meds cautiously. pain kept one quiet when you needed to be. Shots given she sets up a a saline drip. Inga goes to pick up a chair but stops before she got too far bent over. Pain was an excellent indicator of what not to try.
"Lt. Keenan, Sir, could you put that chair on this table so I can hang up this drip and get his ribs taped ."
Lifting up Lee's shirt she can tape his ribs from side to side but she does not want to roll him over to wrap him up all around his torso. So she does the very best she can under the circumstances. the wide tape will give him some support to his damaged ribs. she them closed he jacket over him and used a space blanket around his torso to keep him as warm as possible.
Taking a moment she turns to sit down next to him, though she is not done yet. Two more to go, both Pearson and she had taken some pretty brutal damage. She takes up another round of shots and medications for both of them out of her kit.
Inga moves over slowly but steadily to where Pearson is and goes through her procedure again sticking to each phase as she had been taught careful to follow each step and double checking all medication. The routine helped her to stay focused. After checking him out she administers the shots and hands him the medication.
"Get this down with the equivalent of a full glass of water.
"How are your ribs and are you having trouble breathing."
Inga checks his ribcage though she is quite sure he must have fractured ribs if not broken ones. Finding the tenderness and flex that should not be if they were intact. She was going to need help though to tape his ribs and hers.
She turns Lt. Keenan again for help.
"Lt. Keenan, Sir. I could use your help with taping up Pearson's ribs and mine, Sir."
When at last the treatments were finished, Inga sat down and pulls out her log book and entered in all the medical information of what she had done and what medications she had administer, when and to whom.
Finally her work done for the moment, she sits close to Lee so she can monitor his condition. She needed to note any changes whether positive or negative. She hoped for positive but to hedge her hopes she prayed for them all.

Siliwen moves over with Riddle to where Thor is already with a plate of food. They are offered food and Siliwen does not reject their offer. The boar is quite big enough to feed them all with plenty of left overs.accepts the plate with a polite response.
“Thank you, this looks very good,” Siliwen holds the plate carefully in both hands, not to drop the least bit of it. Finding a bit of clear space she gracefully sits down laying the plate on her crossed legs, then she patted the space beside her inviting Riddle to sit with her. It was the first hot meal they had had since the were at the inn many days ago.
When Billy and Alea are finished getting there places she calls them over and Thor too.
The roasted pork had a crisp skin but the meat inside was juicy and warm. Siliwen took delicate bites chewing each piece well enjoys the taste and the warm juices. She really like the tuber’s tangy flesh and devours the green with relish.
When Alea tells the dwarves why they are heare. The old dwarf comes nearer to them to speak He offers them some current information that they did not know. THE Dark One was ready to make his push against the good lands in the plains, A twisted human minion controls a power that he used to attack the Dwarves and most likely all the lowlands as well While the Dark One himself sits safely somewhere higher in the uplands.
The old dwarven leader does offer them guides and also make other offers .
“So,” he says puffing on his pipe letting the smoke ring around his head, “how may the Grey Dwarves assist you in this quest?”
Siliwen looks up at him. And rises gracefully. Guides would be great and using your underground passages to get us as close aa possible will be good. Food we can use and a place to keep our horses if we cannot get them through the passages. If The Dark One, through this general and mage, is gathering his forces, we need to act quickly.

Okay Can Geim see that the party members around the Goblin leader are in trouble, like badly hurt?
If he can, how far is he away from them? Will a move or full run bring him to them this round?
What sort of check does Geim have to make to figure out what that goblin may be using as a Damage reducer? And what could he do about countering that?

Brianna is enjoying this trip, Xuor is an interesting companion, very knowledgeable about the forest animals and quick to spot trails as they pass by them.
After coming back from on foray in the woods that netter her nothing that time.
"Your are well skilled as a hunter and tracker. Would you teach me some of those skills. I must admit that my kills are mostly come from a clear opportunity I can take advantage of. I cannot track very well and would like to learn how to do better." Brianna shares with him.

Moraglin woke quickly when she was shaken awake/ Dae was standing there surrounded in light but beyond her was still darkness of her area of darkness. At least that was still in effect. So too was her silence spell when she saw Dae speak but heard nothing. She dispelled the silence. And heard Dae speak
"I have had enough to recuperate my magic points." she replied back to Dae. "I will be out in a second after I get changed."
Dae turned and moved out of the area of darkness.
About five minutes later the globe of darkness fell and Moraglin was standing there dress in another set of dark robes with runic symboles on them. These were not black as was normal for her but a medium grey, more suited to traveling.
She walk over to where the camp fire was and the food laid out. taking up a bowl she ladle out a bowl of porridge and moves over to sit at the table that Zara had pulled out of nowhere. She ate quietly without conversation until she pick up the bowl twiggled her finger over it and it was clean.
"Now, as to yesterday's excursion to return Septimus his horse. All did not go as planned. Septimus had already left but I didn't know that until much later. When I arrived the village ws under attack by Orcs, Ogre mages and Trolls that had been brought in magically." Ir took some time and a lot of magic before things got taken care of." Moraglin lays out the edited edition of what actually went on but she did n't seem to think it was important to talk about since the others were not there."
Anyway I was able to find out," Moraglin happily tortured several ogre mages to get all the information that she had, "That they had been sent by whoever is rebuilding in the Barrens. So, we best go warily"
Later, I found Septimus and exchanged the horse he rode for his own stallion. That nasty beast tried to bite me. He wanted t keep the mare but fair is fair. I took her for my own. He was not happy." Moraglin just shrugged. Now I will taek out the horse and we can get started.
Moraglin takes out the mare looking at the tack on her she whispers a few words and the saddle now was a nice red leather as was the barding on the horse. "That will do for now."
After a few hours in the saddle Moraglin was not sure this was a way she liked to travel.

Dae looks over to the globe of darkness after finishing her dinner.
"If Moraglin came in so late and looked tired I daresay she was and I for one will let her sleep. However I do not want to waste most of the day here. So I will give her another hour of rest and then I will wake her."
Dae then goes over TO get breakfast. Zara was a fairly decent cook which was good because Dae was not. She wouldn't go hungry, she had good hunting and foraging skills and could take care of herself but She didn't have many skills in cooking, just the basics. She could roast a fowl or hunk of meat on a stick or spit. boiled up a soups or stew of vegetables and meat, a little salt and pepper that was about the extent of it.
THe porrage Zara made was thick and tasty. made with multiple grains, dried fruit and nuts with a generous dollop of honey for sweetness. Zara had also fired up some ham steaks for the meat eaters and a few hot hard boiled eggs.
After eating Dae went over her equipment and her horse's tack. cleaning and checking it all out. A broken piece of equipment during a battle was not something she ever wanted to happen,
She sharpened her blades and checked the fletching of her arrows.
Afer an hour she gets up and goes inside the still darkened area in the middle of camp. She tried calling out to MOraglin to wake her but soon realized the area was not sonly darkened but silenced. Holding out her hand she cast Daylight and the darkness fled before her. SHe moved over the the rug floating about 2 feet in the air and shook it gently.
Moraglin sat up quickly looking around trying to identify what was going on. She met Dae's eyes. "What time is it," she asks.
"Well into late morning." replies Dae. "I am hoping to get moving soon. Have you had enough sleep?"

Subject: ?? 4th Ed is for the mentally challanged
How can you can that? Comparing 4th compared to 3.5 ed. is like comparing bingo to chess
The magic system sucks I played it on that first day it came out and was able to buy the books at half off. Which I did because I will probably run into 4th ed. at the gaming conventions I go too.
The one slight change in the magic system to the positive was that they have a few spells (almost worthless because they are so easy to save from) to cast at will. All this to the positive is totally cancel by the huge negatives, in that they get so few encounter spells and daily spells.
I also understand that there is no way mages can make magic items. Magic seems to arrive out of a vacuum somewhere. At least I have not found any way yet in the books

SIliwen did not have the slightest idea what they had for breakfast or what it would taste like. She had heard about dwarven Iron rations and didn't know if she could eat those, thought she would not want to seem inhospitable. SIliwen would just have to try whatever it was. Perhaps they didn't have enough for themselves, that way she would be saved from trying whatever they had prepared.
For know she puts her elven rations back in her back.
"I would love a bath but I will have to settle for a dampened cloth for now But it should brighten up things a bit to get cleaner."
Siliwen took out a samll squae of whate cloth and a bit of soap and dampened the cloth with water from her waterskinn and rubbed the bit of soap into it and begain cleaning her face , neck hands arms. Then she rindse the soap off after cleaning the cloth with a bit more water.
"Now I feel definitely better and cleaner as well." Siliwen laughed to think of how strange her life had become that a bit of a wash with a cloth in a cold underground cavern somwhe3re in forbidding mountains was such a luxury.
