Subject: Geim

Geim’s bless was off first and then he sped towards the incoming goblin troop. However, his movement to engage the tail of the incoming goblins and Ogee leader are interrupted by a fiery blast. He is not sure what happened in those first instants or who was responsible. He halts as the waves of heat reaches out towards him. The goblins erupt in flames screaming horribly. Several are thrown off the trail into the air in a fiery arch of burning flesh for a long fall into the canyon below. That was all in a space of a moment or two.

Unfortunately the ogre leader is still alive and he turns back down the trail his cries echoed through down the mountain track: “We’re under attack!”

Geim sprints after the ogre, trying to close with him. The staunch cleric of Kharox would not let this ogre get away and alert those far below, if he could help it. Otherwise their group would be facing a much huger problem, the thousands of goblins below and who know what else. An army of ants they looked like from up here but to be facing them would be an entirely different mater. Their dire necessity to drop this ogre spurred him on.

Subject: Rhiana plays doctor.

Rhiana was sitting in one of the pods seat just trying to keep out of the way. A grilling by S'Talon while not torturous as it could have been and a it still might be was certainly not a desirable activity.

Rhiana kept racking her brains for the slightest item of information she could wring out of her own brain. A vary capable brain it was with one useful trick. She could with concentration remember everything she had sensed. However it meant going into a kind of focused meditation to replay events. She could not afford to skip though any of it and be thorough. She was in this state of concentration when she was suddenly disturbed.

"Get the medical kit"

Rhiana snapped out of her self-induced trance state and quickly ascertained what was needed by whom. She was probably the closest thing to a doctor on board this pod.

The Centrion was grimacing in acute pain. Shiarrael had grabbed out the first aid kit from somewhere. Leave it to her to know where things were.

"What happened?" She asked and she took out the small medical tri-corder and took readings. Just then the Centurion passes out. Not a good sign but perhaps for the best right now.

(replies.)

Rhiana takes the med-kit from Shiarrael's hand and opens it up to see what was in there for the pain. Taking out the Injector she slipped in a healthy dose of the pain killer and then one of muscle relaxant after set the proper dosage. She placed the ejector near the carotid artery in the Centurion's neck. That would get in flowing were it needs as fast as was possible under the circumstance.

Rhiana stays and monitors the Centurion's condition. Perhaps she should have stayed the course and finished up her doctor's degree, although she most likely would not have ended up here and now in any event. She would have to wait to finish her perusal of her own memories until later.

"S'Talon, I gave her a dose pain killer and muscle relaxant That should do the trick, but I will monitor her condition until she is awake again."

Silvara considered Aora words but the Paladin seemed and ill equipped as she was to detect and find traps. Still she was not just willing to run into the hallway and hope.

"No, I wil not run through there for all we know there is a floor trap. So I have one more thing I can try."
Silvara takes out her rope and ties it to her waist securely. IF anything happens to me and I can't get by myself you can pull me to safety. Just give me your shield and I will take mine and cover my torso up with them and use the spear to test the floor before I move. I will keep low to give myself best coverage that I can. You feed out the rope just enough= to let me move forward. If a floor trap is sprung that drips me down please don't let me drop into a pit."

Thus it ws with one shield hung on her back and holding the other to protect her body Silvara advanced into the hallway Leaning on the spear on each tile/stone. If the floor seems secure enough she scratches it surface with an big X before she steps onto it. She crouches low to keep herself protected as she does.

Silvara keeps telling herself that an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure. She reminded herself that adventuring is what she wanted to do. Though another part of her whisper. Not all parts are fun. This certainly wasn't one of the fun moments.

"Keep the slack out of the rope," Silvara cautions Zora.

Silvara stands there after her last projectile is throuwn.

Nothing happened she doesn't know is she should be relieved or not. THere are just so many ways a trap might be sprung. PErhaps a stone on the floor will set it and trigger is.

No she is not at all certain that the hallway is safe to transverse yet.

"Zora, OI am not sure it is safe though I owuld say that so far it doesn't sem as if movement triggers anything, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Let me borrow that spear you bought and your shield. I am going to try moving forward by testing the footing. If I sling the shields passively from hy shoulders or at least upper arms it could give be some protection if those are weapons holes. Or we can try moving foot by foot and plug up the holes as we go. We could break up bits of those chairs and stuff the holes full one by one. That should prevent the weapons from being shot through the holes if we make the plugs tight."

Silvara much prefers a straight on fight than this slow advance of uncertainties. She wished they have a.....ah....person gifted with a talents for discovering traps and things.

"Any other idea," Silvara asks Zora. Just watch the whole floor and ceiling give way and these holes are all a ruse.

Subject: Silvara's Strategy

The inspection of the candlestick finished for the moment gave Silvara several things to thing about. First was the The ditty that Firin told them. It kept running through her mind.

While all that glimmers be not gold,
And warmth of love melts heart of cold
When sun retreats for orb of night
The way revealed by silver light.

As of right now she thinks that it contains two, if not more, clues that are not necessarily related to each other but they could be.

The first line she is not yet sure about. It could possible those refer to the candlestick. It glittered like silver well like silver leaf, but was not silver. The hole though it seemed to her to be purposeful and not just a odd happenstance of its creation, in fact, putting a hole though the wood would not have been an easy task. So therefore she reason it must have been put there for a reason. The phases of the moon inscribed on it reminded her of the third line about the orb of night. And the part about the way revealed might be a part of the third line too. Those two lines of the four seemed to go together. More than the first two did. Those could be clues to two separate things.

Silvara sighed; they just had so little to go on so far. And her suppositions could be all wrong.

Zora and Silvara made their way towards the room They stopped to survey it because of the strange holes that line the side walls. At the en of the passage way was a old curtain with the cloud floating in the sky over a what appeared to be spears.

Zora asked if she wanted to run the gauntlet with her.

Silvara snorts loudly in disgust.

"No. We do not want to run the gauntlet," Silvara replies emphatically. "You want to get us both killed before we even get started properly. Don't tell me they beat you common sense out of you during your Paladin training. Just let me work of this for a bit."

Silvara examines the holes at a distance. She is not willing to personally test out whatever they might be. She panned to walk out of her alive and well with the Lantern of Truth at least id not other objects of value. If she took a little time to check this out they could perhaps get by this without harm. First she needed to fine out what would happened if they passes by though she would get something to throw and not try it herself.

“Okay, I think we need to check up what these holes are for before we try moving down that hall. I cannot figure why a temple would have such a trap on the way to the library or laboratory unless there is another way into to it without traversing this hallway. The curtain down there may be a warning or may be a ruse. I don’t know but I plan to find out one step at a time,” Comment Silvara.

“I am going to find something substantial that I can throw down there and see what happens."

Silvara goes to find several small pieces of rubble like a chair, small table, a pot, something etc that she can throw down the way at about the height of 2-4 feet to see if there is any reaction to it. She tries it the first time aiming close and then later throws are successively further down the hallway.

Dae returns to the fire to clean up from dinner. "Zara you take first watch, Oko second, I will take third. When and if Moraglin comes back in time she can have last watch. Clint would you join us for the night and share watches that way everyone can get some needed rest? "

(clint's response)

"What brings you to this area so near the Barrens?" Are you currently on a mission or quest. I ask because we have lost our Ranger that started with us and could use another if you are free to travel with us. Truth be told though it will be a journey fraught with trials and tribulations if not downright danger." Dae comes back and sits near Clint and watches him closely.

"I tell you thin ahead of time but I will say no more unless you plan to travel with us because of the nature of our mission. If you can't. so be it." She finishes and waits for Clint's response.

Her clear light sky blue eyes regard him with a steady look however it suggested nothing but an interest in his response.

Stardate 2374.09.05 - 2000 hours
ASRV-83964:E-025, deployed from USS Cerberus

Shiarrael will notice something while she was reading the Technical manual for this ASRV. The artificial gravity for the ship took a lot of power. If she were to reduce the gravity to 15% then the power saved would easily support the 8 of them for about 120 days instead of the 90 days listed in the manual. Also she could route some of that same power to the com systems to boost the signal by 50%. The only question is, will that cause the Centurion more pain. Shiarrael had noticed that the Centurion was sweating a bit and was paler then normal. Getting up from her spot on the floor she will go to the back of the ASRV aka “The Shoebox” to talk quietly to Rhiana.

“Rhiana,” she whispered, “I have thought of a way to save a lot of energy but the trouble is will cutting most of the power to the ships artificial gravity system cause the Centurion more pain? She did not say anything earlier, but did the launch injure her? I know I have a few bruises and so does Anderson, but nothing as bad as she looks. I know you are a Medical doctor as well as a scientist, and this ship does have a medical kit on board with medications if that can help.”

“The reason to conserve energy is that this shoebox will sustain 6 people for 90 days. We are 8. On the positive side is that at a lesser gravity we can move around easier and also be able to boost the transmission signal for help.”

“Yes, we can certainly do that much to maximized our power. Why don’t you share this with the Centurion first then we can make modifications. I am hoping that the ship got off a distress signal though and Starfleet is on the way to find us.” Rhiana agrees with Shiarrael. “Both of those are excellent ideas. We can also power down the lights. We don’t need it that bright in here. With less gravity and less effort, wan also conserve oxygen,” was Rhiana’s idea to help out with the pod’s resources.

Both of the Science techs return to the Centurion and offer their ideas to her.

MACO Mst, Sgt. McQueen was working with her MACO team when the klaxons sounded “Abandoned ship” She jerked her head up and listened again to the repeated message.

“All right Jarines, I don’t care if this is a drill or not. You bust you butts to the escape pods pronto. Don’t stop for anything you don’t have on you right now.’

James, Taru, Dominguez, and Dawson go with Cpl Nagayama The rest of you come with me double quick. Get Going, Stay together.”

Brianna did exactly as she had told her team. She herded them all out of the exercise room and down the corridor to the nearest escape pods. She then moved to the front of her troops. The hallways were crowded with crew headed for escape pods. Brianna looked for the flashing green lights that signaled where open escape pods were ready for occupants. Red lights mean it was filled and close up steady red meant the pod had been launched. Turning into a set of pods, Brianna saw the flash of a uniform standing near the controls. Someone was preparing to shut the doors.

“Hold that door Crewman,” she yelled out her voice carrying even above the klaxon calls to abandon ship. However the man continued to push the control button. Brianna sprinted suddenly into the ASRV and slapped his hands away from the controls. Intimidating him with over 6 foot 2 of pure muscle in the black MACO uniform.

“I said hold it." She turned on the crewman. "Don’t touch anything again or I’ll have your guts for garters.”

Then to her team, “Plant yourselves and prepare for launch, Yuri, All clear?”

“All Clear, Mst. Sgt.

Brianna hit the switch to close. The launch came right after the door close. Once safely launched Brianna turns back to her team and the one Ship’s crewman. “Dominguez take over the controls. I will contact whoever is in charge.

“Whats you name crewman? I need to report your presence. ” and that is not all she would report, but that was for later.

“Stan Stowbreiski, Mst Sgt.” the man gets out, “from Engineering.”

“Fine” Now stow it and keep out of my sight.”

Brianna activates the radio and beacons and found most of the bridge command intact and in charge. She didn’t bother about asking what happened, it happened. She gave her name rank and those of her men to whoever was collecting it, and Stan’s.

After that she takes a deep breath and sits down to settle in. Where is the awful smell coming from? "If I have told you once I have told you a hundred times you Jarines need to keep yourselves cleaned up.”

Two sets of hands towards the rear of the escape pod quickly point to Stan. “ It’s him, Mst. Sgt." Cpl. Johns says quickly.

Brianna strides over to the the engineering crewman. She take one sniff of him, “Okay Stowbreiski, you reek. Do something about it now. If not, I will have my men strip you to your skin and scrub you down. Or I will stuff you into a space suit and you can smell yourself and no one else will have to. Do I make myself clear?" Her hands are on her hips and her arms akimbo, her voice fills the pod easily—imposing sounding and looking indeed and not to be trifled with.

Brianna moves away from the offensive man not that she is squeamish, but it was really nasty for a crewman on a star ship to smell like that. If she didn’t know any better she would say that he had been cleaning out the bilges, only there were none on these modern ships. Everything was recycled.

Silvara removed the silver candle stick with great care. She got it out without much problem and stood up to show it to Zora as she picked up the torch to look at it as well . That is when the who pile gave way IT sent billowing dust into the sir covering them both completely. Silvara closed her eyes and stopped breath. she back away towards the opening or where she thought the opening was. When the dust settle enough she was standing there covered in a fine coating of dust, except for her eyes while had been shut tightly.

While not an overly fastidious person none-the-less she kpt herself quite clean-usually. Now she blended in with the stone and dust on the floor. What she would give for a bath right now. She snorted loudly in disgust and to clear it of dust and turned to head out the door.

"That was anticlimactic." says Silvara as she looks over the candle stick then shows it to Zora and after she has examined it she puts it away. IT feels solid we could use it to bask werewolves and vampires." quips Silvara.

"Library or laboratory next, right?"

Brianna nods to Xuor after she explained to him about what quest she and Lorae wer on. His request to join them on it made her feel good. It sort of made up for losing Highnar. The good fighting dwarf explained, last night that he had another obligation to fulfill before her was free to pursue another Highnar.

Just to let you know Highnar has already left Ashbenford. He told me last night he had a task to fulfill before he was free to pursue his own interest. We are planning to take one more day more off before we hit the road. I will find out whether the Cerric or Vatta will continue on with us or not.

Brinna goes outside in the direction Cerric had gone out.

Cerric stood on the inn steps he was looking out.

"Good Morning Cerric." Brianna's cheerful voice fills the porch where Cerric is standing staring after the departing figure of Vatta. "I have just come to you to find out id you want to continue on with our group, that is Lorae and I. Unfortunately, we've lost Highnar. He said he had something to finish up first before he was free. Xuor though is planning to continue on just wondered what you are planning on. No rush though we are not leaving until tomorrow. I daresay we can all use a day off. You can let me know or Lorae."

"Now have you seen Vatta about. if not I need to find with her and explain things to her as well."

Dae steps forward a step towards the newcomer. She is an elven looking young women who is dressed in fine golden armor and carried herself as a warrior as well except she is taller than most elves here abouts. Whoever all her other proportions seem in keeping with pure blooded elves. Those sensitive to her aura of good can figure out she is half-celestial--a half-Solar to be precise. Her hair is pale is like spun gold, her eyes bright cerulean blue, her skinned lightly tanned with a golden hue. Her armor is golden in color and she carries two long swords one on each hip. She carries herself as a warrior does, poised, in balance and ready for action however it is done with all the grace of her mothers people, the elves.

Dae wears a holy symbol of the Light over a tabard usually chosen to blend her into her surroundings.

As Dae gazes directly into the stranger eyes as he moved forward even though he is mostly in the darkness with but the reflected glow of the small fire to give light to see by. Purposely she keeps her hands from her swords as she motions to Clint to come forward as she addresses him.

“Please join us, Cline Estenvoode, for companionship and conversation. You are welcome to our fire and your companions as well. Have you supped yet? If not we have plenty left.” Dae adds as she moves to give Clint room at the fire, her tone is warm and inviting.

I am Dalyndra Goldwings, this is my half sister Zara” Dae points to girl who appears to be a slender very young elf more child than adult who looks up from the cooking fire, and this is Oko, for short,” she gestures towards the big Felani standing watchfully at the newcomer.. “There is one other in our party but she is away for the moment and will return later.”

Subject: Siliwen

After a nights sleep broken by a swift ride away from where she had been attack Siliwen was weary by the time they reached the second camp. Hanging her makeshift hammock from a tree she sleep, after she used her elven meditation to help her get enough sleep for her to regain her spells for the next day. Night passed and morning came. With the first hint of color in the sky they arose as if one to get moving as quickly as possible--driven by a need that did not need expression.

Siliwen did not like the quiet that greeted them the morning after the attack and the change of camp sites. Not a single cry of an bird or the hum of insects that usually gather arose at dawn and twilight. It was like they and their horses were the only thing living in this land. Another meal of cold rations was downed. Siliwen shared what she could of her elven rations with her horse. Then she shared more with the other horses.

They too were hungry and it hurt her to know that there was so little for them. The air was still as they mounted up and moved off. Siliwen checks her ring before they start off and fastens her eyes on a distant peak that she keeps the group headed towards. They rode quickly putting distance between themselves and the camp where Siliwen was attack by who knows what. . The day was sultry and clouds arose quickly from the west of the Grey Mountains and boiled out into the plains they had to pass through to reach the foot of the Grey Mountains. Clouds billow up dark and ominous, blocking out the rising sun entirely. The wind picks up as the group are already on their way the sun just beginning t rise over the mountains.

They make good progress towards the Grey Mountains, but do not push their horse who have had little to eat these last few days. At times Siliwen gets off an jogs besides her horse to spare it and to exercise her legs. The storm hits them when they are less than an hour out, the driving winds and rain pelting them and their mounts, slowing their progress. Thanks goodness the worst of the storm is further north from them. In fact it was directly behind then, a full half circle from the direction the ring pointed. Siliwen looked over her shoulder and shivered a bit. She thought that perhaps the center of the black storm is focused on the area where they originally set camp; where Siliwen was viciously attacked through the ground.

“I believe that the worse part of this storm is centered just about where we make our first camp last night. The clods were lit frequently with bright flashes of lightning observable even at this distance. “I am glad we decided to move from that place last night.”

They are able to ride on through the storm making some slow progress, but at least they figure no one will be able to find them or track them as long as the storm rages.

After unknown hours of riding, the storm finally passes and soon the sun returns to them and they can see it is now mid afternoon. They and their mounts are tired and worn, and the storm seemed to sap the strength and determination from the riders and their animals. Even though the storm has passed they ride no faster; their will seems to lag and their haste temporarily forgotten.

The peaks of the grey mountains loom over them as they start up into the dark foothills at their base. They ride on, following the ring, until they begin to pass through some kind of ravine leading up into the mountains proper. The sun wanes lower in the sky and feeling exhausted they quickly find a place to camp among the crags where they have a defensible position.

Finally they reach the foot of the mountains and begin up a narrow ravine. The sun actually could not be seen, it was behind the mountains. The ravine was in shadow was like they were in early twilight that lasted for a long while, as least long enough for them to find a relatively flat spot to make a camp. However there were neither trees nor vegetation of any sort. The bare rocks of the mountains and a small bit of dirt captured in this area would have to serve them for the night.

Siliwen tries to find a projection or cleft she can fasten her makeshift hammock too, if she can find none she will try using the saddles to lay on, anything to keep off the ground. Somehow that Dark One could reach her through the ground.

“I wonder if the Dark One can track me through the rock. They would take much longer to corrupt, well I hope they would.. Lying down on the rocks is her last viable alternative if none of the other plans work. She hopes she can find a way to tie her hammock on off the rocks or sleep on the underside of the saddles.

Siliwen hope that if the Dark One cannot find her through the rock he will know they are already in the mountains. She does think of another way but is reluctant to try it. It would bean sleeping on top of one of her friends. But that would not do them any good. They needed their rest too.

Setting up the camp, they have a small cold meal once again; some of their strength and will returning as they fill their bodies with the meager food they have with them. Even the mounts seem to recover some of their liveliness after eating some grain and resting.

Still fatigued from fighting the strange storm, the group sets their beds out and begins to find some sleep for the night shortly after sunset. Again Siliwen uses meditation techniques to get enough rest
.
Sleep blessed sleep, it renews, it rejuvenates. To sleep, perhaps to dream good dreams, that is Siliwen’s fondest hope right now.

Unbeknownst to the rest of them.

Thor is wakened by a sound he listens intently but the sound is not repeated. He hears a different sound, the slapping of feet on stone. Whirling he sees a figure charge out of the darkness at him; the figure is stocky and about his height. He brings up his axe and blocks a blow aimed at his head and side steps his opponent and twists to the side. The attackers momentum makes him stumble past Thor who neatly trips the attacker to the ground.

Thor raises his axe prepared to split his opponent’s head in twain when the moon suddenly peaks from behind some clouds and reveals his target’s face to him. He sees a dwarf on the ground before him, struggling to regain his feet. The visage of one of his own kin causes Thor to halt his attack and take a step backwards.

“I would do that if I were ye,” a rumbling voice intercedes. Turning to look, Thor sees four more dwarves step out of the darkness, two of which have heavy crossbows leveled at him.

The ruckus of the battle rousts the other from their slumber and they leap from their beds only to see that they are surrounded by eight dwarves; four of which are covering them with heavy crossbows.

“Thurm,” the dwarf who spoke to Thor said looking at the one at Thor’s feet, “Get up.. your embarrassing yourself.”

The dwarf who attacked Thor rolled to his feet, recovering his axe. He eyed Thor with anger in his eyes as he walked back around to join the other four.

“I believe your friends have awakened,” the apparent leader spoke and nodded to the camp, “perhaps we should join them so they don’t do anything rash.”

Smiling, he waits for Thor to turn and head to the camp a few paces off then they follow him. When they arrive, Thor sees that a full dozen dwarves, plus the Leader, an elderly looking dwarf with flaming red hair and beard which stretches beyond his belt, now surround the party.

“Well now,” the leader says with a wry smile looking at the assembled group, “what have we here?”

Awake and Wondering?

Siliwen was reluctant to wake but not waking was not an optioned, at this time and place. If she failed to response she might not be given another chance to. He sharp ears became aware of the sound of voices, more than one and none that she knew. When she looked about their groups was surrounded by about a dozen plus dwarves. More than several had cross bows and they were pointed at her companions and herself. Siliwen ducks to the shelter of Billy broad expanse and prepares Color Spray, but holds it for now, not sure of what is going on.

Silvara makes one good effort to remove the candlestick frm the pile by (taking extra time) inserting her hand into the pile towards the candlestick to see if she can work it out through the ipening her arm makes. If it seems that she can she will remove it that way. If it seems that she can't lossen it from the debris without the rubble pile shifting and falling then she will leave it for now.

Silvara is tempted by the thought to just burn the pile of trash down and later claim the candlestick. At least it would probably drive the rat or rats away. However the fire may get out of control and that would not help their situation.

Recently aany of the games I am in have have faded, four lost DMs. It is bit disappointing, but I have plenty of great games to play in still. and I might just have to break down and play another 2nd ed game. already have two.

Welcome, Welcome. when you decide what you want to DM put it up on the recruitment thread.

Congratulations on your own computer it should make a big difference. NOw for me I picked up Geim, since he was the only character available just to join the game. DM had such fun posting to Almerin's creative posts. She would read them to me and then let me read her responses. So when Geim ws available I jumped at the chance. I have not regretted it at all.

NOt that I ever played a male or let alone a dwarf. Well that staunch, old dwarf is mine now and I do enjoy playing him and figuring out how he would respond to what is going on. He has got problems but he is working on them. I, the player, certainly don't want the story to end, that is for sure.

I do agree with you Almerin that it would be nice to have more interaction. We had some good ones going in the creepy woods, and the aftermath, and later in the village. and I know that such high level posting can't always be kept but it has been slow lately. I missed one week and was late last week too, but I will keep my end up as high as possible.

So I would like this game to continue and I will make sure I interact more with my comrades adn the newcomer to our group as well. Question is Loda gone? Geim had something started their and she seemed to have disappeared.

Please keep this game going though I know it is going to take we players to make sure it goes.

Don't forget Moonshadow Kaelyn she is as big or bigger than normal wolves, and would take one of them on expecially to defend Eleasia

Silvara works very carefully on the far side of the rubble pile away from where the rat is busy gnawing on the corpse. She figures that if it was not scared by their presence and as long as it food source was not threatened that she could slowly pick through the rubble pile from the back side. Hopefully unseen and if she is very careful--which she is without creating a disturbance that will disturb the feed rat.

Zore and she had no notion of where this Lantern of Truth might be found. It could be in this pile, which would be great. Though. in all honesty Silvara did not think the quest would be that simple. If others had come here for the same purpose without success since they had not come then the quest was fraught with inherent and unknown difficulties.

Silvara frown a bit as she concentrated on her task. "Nothing is every simple, not this not her life. SHe sign but then doggedly keep on. Nothing gainful is achieved by standing around or sidetracking.

Not a good idea to get between it and its food. Other than searching the rubble pile I say we get out of here and leave it to feed.

Sil moves back a step slowly, "You just keep watch there and tell me if it stirs, while I look into the pile from back here.

Silvara puts down the torch but keeps her sword ready. She surveys the pile and if she see anything interesting she will look into it. If it seems to be nothing but broken furniture and household items she will quit searching. If there is something she delves carefully into the pile, Silvara moves any large pieces carefully not wanting to dislodge the rubble pile and cause the rat to become anxious. Silvara also searches near the bottom edges for anything heavy that might have dropped through the pile. coins. weapons etc.

"Kharox guide my hand and eye," as he cast bless on the group and then draws his ax in preparation for battle. The biggest problem he thought is if one of those opposing them ran off down the trail to warn the others.

He moved to try to circle around the end of the group and defend the trail. If he could get there quick enough he could perhaps separate some on them from the rest. Then he would try throwing some off the trail down into the canyon.

"Filthy scum."

Inquiring minds wish to know.
