Loriel was used to being the trail breaker, in the forest or wilds, this ws much differnent She remained cautious, but that didn't help her when the situation took serveral truns for the worse. There was a rumbling and a sloud of debis from behind her she could see exactly what had happened but she saw the scythe starting to swing and ihad cut her off from the other. Xarius and the Barbarian female fighter where cut off from her. She could see Kas but not Limmix or Aelistrae. However she then heard the creak of a wooden door behind her and turn just in time to see orcs issueing forth from a side door. With an arrow ready to firs she does and then backs it up with another.

Moonshadow knows orcs well and has numted them in the wilds. She is ready to spring to he attack though she is aware of the spears they carry.

The old dearf and the young Amazon woman are an inncongrous sigth except for the commonality that they are both warriors She standing over 6"3" in her stocking feet and Highnar about half her height but as broad or broader in the beam that she is.

"I need to apologized at my himor at you r expense. Please forgive me and chalk it up to a momentary lapse on my part, and I think the others too. It does not excuse us but we have all been in a fight for our very liveds this day and a moment of humor rose without us wondering how it might affect you.: Brinna starts.

"I know you are not happy on a horse. I can teach you to ride better. I do not know much about this stone statue but being a thing of magic I daresay there is a possibility that it moves smother than a horse. Beside I can't imagine you backing down from even trying. Brianna concludes for a moment but beings again, "I hope I am not making a hash of this apology because that wha t it is first and formost." I tend to be blunt and direct and so if I am talking too much tell me to shut up."

Brianna llok at HIghnar's face and he marched off back into the inn. She turned at once and followed him in "Highnar," Brianna called out. "Wait a moment." Brianna humor disappeared at HIghnar reactions to the other.

Brianna's long legs carried her seiftly across the floor. "A moment please." Hopeing he stops to talk but prepared if he did not to follow him upstairs even into his room if necessary. Her often direct apprached sometimes did not sit well with others but she knew not other way to be. He time on the Fprbidden Isles had left their mark on her it made her a stronger person but one sometimes difficult to deal with. She could not stand diplomatic exchanges. For her a spade was a spade and a shovel was a shovel and if you needed to say something you said it with no mincing of words. Only this time she felt she had to apologize at least for herself though she was quite sure that the others hadn't wanted HIgnar to be upset or hurt by their humor.

Back Post Leaving the common room and Upstairs

Siliwen felt relieved when the strange old man said he might be about to help her, she hoped so for not only for herself but for her friends who have had to endure these visitations that were both physical and mental. Also she hugs Billy and Thor since Riddle did not come up with her.

Current.

Siliwen listens to Alea's retelling of events so far. She had only a couple things to add to the tale. She mentions not all her visions were nightmares one seemed like an illusion of her recently dead mentor and when it faded so too did the footprints on the ground.. "I know not what spell could create the illusion and the physical evidence of it having been there. Also the wolves that attacked were possessed. Billy saw someone or something but he could tell you best what he saw. I have tried to be strong to deny the visions but they have affected me because.... because I feel guilty about my mentor's death."

There it was out and the others can make of what they will, but she fells better for getting off her chest.

Moraglin freshens herself up with a few cantrips and orders a drink after Septimus left she drinks half and stands up. I will return later. "Oko, I totally agree with you I will take him something to eat in just a bit. She seems to be aware of the passing time nodding to herself a various time. "In his room" later "Undressed" even later "In the tub. Ah now is the right time." Maraglin turns to the rest of the party seated at the table, "I have something to take cae of. be back later."

She goes to the kitched and fetches a pail of hot water and a tray of food. Casting tensor's floating disk she puts the bucket on the disc and carries the tray upstairs. with a soft swish of her robes as her hips sawy as she walks

Up at Septimus's door she stops. Through the door she says. "Fresh hot water," and without waiting for a reply she enters the room where Septimus has had plenty of time to be in the tub. Just where she wants him. A anked man is more vulnerable than just being without clothes she has noted throughout the years.

"Hot water and some hot, nurishing food for you, Septimus" she announces as she walks in.

She directs the disc over towards his bath and follows with the tray in her hands. Setting the tray down on the disc she ppicks up the hot water and pours it into his bath.

Brianna does not see anything that really catches her eye or anything she has a use for right now. She would like to up the magic on her armor and perhaps some other enchantment increases. so all this stuff ment to her was funds., but she knew a small town like this did not have the shops or people to purchase such magical items for what they were truly worth. When the stone horse was discuss and the rest went out while it was activated Brianna picked up her mug and went to stand in the doorway leaning against the wall as Highnar spoke the magic words.

When the huge War horse appeared she was impressed. Highnar was truly "dwarfed" in comparison. It was as tall as Shadowbane and even more heavily built. "Oh yes, Highnar, he is just perfect for you" However you don't need a ladder, but a fly ring to get on him. Unless you would like me to lift you up on him."

Brianna puts down her mug and saunters over perpared to do just that. "Let me give you a lift up there, friend Highnar. At least with this steed you will be as tall as nearly anyone." THey ere a merry twinkle in Brianna's eyes though no sign of laughter on her face.

Geim suck up the failed spell and lifted his ax and his shield. Tomany of them had been affected by the sonic wave. Without spells he had no way of conteracting any of thier effects that he knew of. One thinkg only was left to do and that was engauge the beastie and kill it as quick as possible. He did not over look its speed but there ws nothing else he could do but try to protect the others who had be frozen by given the bestie a target that would attack it again and again.

The Lore Master may nothave been a pure fighter but like his kind with therir favorite weapon the ax in their hand they were a force to be reckoned with.

He battle cry calling on Kharox went unheard but he gave it anyway. Branishing his weapon to draw the beasties attention, he put his weight behind his shield and ax up ready to strike, aiming for the mid portaion of the giant lizard. pleanty to hit their. What he planed on hittung was a leg, hoping to cripple it and slow it down. By attack at the center point of the beastie's body he had a chance to hit either the front leg or rear leg depending on which way it move. He hoped to give it a crippling blow and slow the critter down. Time will tell which would be closest when he got in range.

Loriel became more and more convinced that this was some sort of temple as they passed the alcoves with the gruesome remains of a goblin and a gnoll. The black candles as well increased the disquiet she felt in this place. In there hunt for the Ogre and his two captives they had found something else much more ominous and perhaps even more dangerous than facing an Orge. Without healing spells or magics they could be in big trouble.

Loriel mentally calls Moonshadow over to her. Moonshadow moves nest to her and Loriel felt a low inaudible growl from Moonshadow. Across their link with each other the wolf-dog conveyed her dislike for this place. Loriel had to agree as she felt the same sort of foreboding.

"Thins place gives me a bad feeling, and Moonshadow does not like the ‘feel’ of the place. I trust her senses. We might need to go out and wait until our casters can recharge their spells before coming back into her, though that will not be a good thing for the wife and daughter of the merchant. What do you all want to do? This may be too much for us to handle."

"Does anyone recognize that horse-headed figure or any other religious symbols they might have seen?"

Loriel moves softly across the dirt floor and it sloops sownwards slightly. Her bow is held up with an arrow notched and ready . Moonshadow padds silently aon her left side. She trusts Moonshadow's nose to alert her to the presence of the orge when they fraw closer to if it draws closer to them.

Curious, Loriel looks into the two alcoves. To her mind it looks like a possible shrine, though she does not recognized the horse headed figure The opposite alcove may hold a titing box in the form of a small chest. However they do not have time to waste examining these things ow. The family must be retrieve and made safe and the Orge killed.

"Thiese two alcoves will be here when we are through withthe Orge. I suggest we do nothing about them at this time." Loriells suggests. "They could also be traps to draw the attention away ftom what needs doing first."

Siliwen was aware of the arrival of the man in brown robes. Regardless though he took control immediately and to her great relief saw that this was something she had not done. Siliwen dighed deeply when he directed other to cover the man's body and take it away.

Alea steppped forward to interact with Alacan, as he called himelf (wondering if he is cleric or mage). Reasonably she suggest that Siliwen go up and change. This mostly to seperate her form the incident and get cleaned up. She also had Riddle and Billy escort her. SIiliwen was thankful for that. Right now her confidence was a bit shaky. She who had always been in control of herself and matter around her and be catapulted into situation after situation that she apparently had little contol of. IT had left her questions herself.

Siliwen first steps forward to Alacan. Thank you for your presence and insight. I hope you will be here when I get back I will not take long. There are things we would like to ask you. Please," SIliwen added softly.

As she made her way upstairs Siliwen stopped at her door and truned to the Billy and Riddle, given them a quick but heaty hug in thanks. "I thnk you for my staunch defense in this matter. You hav ehelp me greatly just by believing in me and that I could not do such a thing under normal curcumstances. I am so sorry I have given you all such great difficulties but I don't think removing myself fromt he group is the answer either. We were told we must work together to achieve a victory against this Dark One."

Siliwen walks into the room she had shared with Alea but leaves the door open. She washes her hands first and then strips off her clothes and puts on a fresh set. Gather her things quickly she leaves the room and heads back downstairs.

Returning tothe common room Siliwen looks around for Alacan.

This will have to go I suppose," Moraglin declares slearly. Not quite what I am used to but...." the rest she leaves unsaid. Dismounting her steed she speaks an arcane words and the horse disappears. in it place is a small horse statue of black obsidian intricately carved and details. Moraglin scoops it up and places it in a ouch on her belt, giving it a pat.

Actually she was looking forward to this next encounter. It had been years since she had been out traveling the lands. She had been much to tied up with her studies in religion and in magic and vice versa.

She stretched a little as she stood there waiting for the others to deal with the stable lad according to their wishes. Actually she was not sure she could walk forward yet. Even as smooth a mode of transportation as the obsidian mount was she could not recommend hours in the saddle being more familiar with the comfort or of her favorite stuffed chair by the fire. It was only sometime that afternoon that she had cast levitate on her self enough to take the pressure off her more sensitive part of her anatomy. She longed for a nice warm bath to soothe those more tender parts of her body

Glancing surreptitiously at the others she notices none of them seem to be mush affected by the long hours in the saddle, Moraglin cast cure minor to remove some of the tenderness in her derriere. Then she straightened her robes and smoothed down her hair casting the cantrip Clean and Fresh to remove the dust of the trail.

"How is everyone doing? I must say I feel refreshed and ready for anything," Moraglin spoke truthfully. She cast a quick glance around the group and it lingered just a bit longer on Septimus before coming to rest on Zara. “You say we were given traveling expenses? That is good to know.”

Moraglins rodes of midnight black had no rival except for her lusterious raven locks. Her pale skin only accented their dark intensity. Cheery red lips pouted a bit but is seem to be her natural for her even if one where not exactly sure what she was smiling about. Her rich robes were embroidered in designs reds, red violet and purples and picked up the colors in the brocade lining them. With a quick swish of her robes around her Moraglin made her entrance into the Inn. Once inside she swept her arms wide and let the robe flow out from her body. The intensity of the reds and re-violets set off her fine gown of unrelieved black it clung closely to her breast and hips and then flaired out wide which was useful for riding and making entrances. It was showmanship but as natural to her as breathing.

"Innkeeper, your finest rooms for myself and my companions, baths for all and you finest meal," Moraglin calls out. After all she, ah they, had access to traveling funds--why not have the best.

"I know our own mission is important but we cannot leave this man's wife and daughter in the clutches of an Orge. What if they were your wife and your daughter? Orges are a menace and we must deal with this one. I cannot turn aside from this regardless of the promised."

Siliwen looks up at Riddle as he helps her to her feet. "I did not kill him," she says simply, even though she was not sure of the truth of this statemnt. She did not consciously kill him that was for sure, but how ot prove it would be the hard part of this matter. Siliwen looks at the blood on her hands and for the blood that should be on her clothes if she had somehow did this heinous act under compusion. If she had struck the blow she should have sprays of blood across the front of her somewhere.

(Siliwen looks to see if she does have blood other than on her hands) She quickly starts organizing in her own mind what she knows and what she needs to find out about this situation. At this time the facts were sketchy. she turns her face to Riddle her eyes expressing a her thanks for his support. Indeed she was thankful to all of them for standing up. It made her feel less alone in the strange place and under these even stranger circumstances.

With even more feeling she calls out clearly into the common room. "I did not kill the innkeeper. How could I have wielded that piece of metal like a weapon against a man of his size and for what reason would I do such a thing."

Loriel watches the proceeding from horseback. She had no sympathy for the man. He was not a wild animal caught in a trap, but a diseased one and as such he needed to be eliminated. She had to agree with th Drow's thoughts that it should have been a clean death and this one was right.

The man Bart called the Cardinal a man who has been cast out of Knighthood and forsaken by his god as a paladin. This man has put himelf above the law and human decency. Even though he rid the lands of evil doers as Bart has said his methods are inhumane and reprehensible.

Loriel dismounts when the Drow priestess adminisister a coup de grace and searches the man's body for anything that might provide then useful information.

No she didn't like this at all. Tyr she knows is a god of justice and retribution, but he is not a merciless god.

Alea would not have left Siliwen alone during her watch. She would have sat in their doorway so she could keep watch in the room and in the hall. Another thing she would have done is that she would had used her dagger as a wedge in the window, to keep it from being opened easily and if it were forced, the dagger would drop and make noise.

Siliwen was happy to get to bed early. She hoped that Alea's efforts would give her peace this night. Her friends offered to keep watch and she was thankful for their efforts on her behalf.

"Thank you so much having one of you on watch will be very comforting for me." After Siliwen's meditation she lay down with a whispered prayer that her night would be uneventful. That was the last she had conscious memory of.

Siliwen's head jerks up as the scream wakes her, strangley aware it seems she is already partial up. though she is immediately confused about where she is. She looks around and finds herself not in bed, not even in her room with Alea. A body lays on the floor taht she seems to be kneeling over. It takes her a moment to get over her surprize and her brain to start functioning. She tries to figure out what happened, how she got here and why she is leaning over this body, but she can't. As she tries to focus on what ws happeneding she became aware of her bloody hands, and the identity of the body, the innkeeper.

The woman's scream came again and she then focused on her. The innkeeper's wife standing in the foorway leading to the keitche. "She killed my Husband" she cried out. Siliwen looked around the room, Alea and Riddle were heading towards her, Thor was not far behind them and Billy too. Siliwen looked at them dazed and confused. The longer she was aware of what was going on the more confusing it got.

The enormity of the situation was just beginning to filter into her consciousness. Her eyes saw, the ears heard but she had absolutely no clearity on how this had all happened. She fought to get control of her racing mind. She had questions and wanted answers and didn't know if there were any she wanted to hear. Siliwen moved to stand up as Riddle got to her. Whatever had happened she would face it but oh how she wanted to know exactly what happened, this lack of knowing was devastated and well and the situation she found herself in.
