Still surround with enemies B rianna could not tell how it was going with her other companions. She didn't have time to think about it though as the Orcs and goblins pressed forwrad. Some of them trying to flamk Highnar and her. She twirl her blades trying to force those flankers back, using Thunder in her left hand while protecting Highnar's left flank and herself with Lightning. When she could she would intpose her buckler to deflect a blow aimed her directions.

Two whirling Magic Missles hit her but she felt nothing from them. The Orcs and goblins had a magic user with them. That was one thing their own group lacked.

Wards?" Dae pauses. It shouldn't hurt if you do, though I don't think that whoever it is that is after him could trace him to here. He is certainly far from the normal clientele of this place." She looks a Zara. " Well, go ahead but be discreet and do nothing else."

Dae makes her way out of the room after the Prince left. Septimus had been first out. A bit later Jason left. Dae turned to Zara.

"I pray this group can work together, our success may well depend on us doing so, however, since there is nothing I can do about, it, I won't worrry about it either. I will pray for the unity of the mission; the Light listens."

"Let us go off to bed too. It was a long trip today and it is late now. We will share a room." she states in a tone that will brooks no argument.

I once made a part elf-part drow, 1/2 celestial that trained as a samurai and became a Paladin to Tyr. I had a wonderful background that fit the world and the nature of the character. The DM added a twist-a magic sword of a Nature God/Goddess that she had faught a hydra for and won that randomly changed her sex from female to male and back again at the inopportune monents.

And in one of my games someone wanter to play a Dwarf/Elf cross.

Val quite enjoyed the trip but was ready for it to end too. THeir destination was approching. She looked at the tower closely studying it while hte Captain manuvered his ship towrds shore. Upon heraing why she quite agreed with his logic and when the time came to disembark she thank him politie for the trip and took care while getting into the rowboat.

Val had a few concerns about the transfer from the rocking ship to the boat but with carely thought movements, keeping aware of her surroundings, and her natural elven grace, the disembarking went quite well. The last thing she wanted to do was end up in the sea and have to walk along dripping wet. Even of more concern was risking her precious spell book even though it was well wrapped in oil skin and sealed with wax.

Once on shore Val made her way with the rest letting the fighters lead the way. She found that despite her diniuyative size which was usually a handicap, she had an easier time over the sand since she didn't sink in so far.

When challanged by creature who had stooed out of the brush she stops and waits with the others thought she say says softly in sylvari, "I don't think this is as it should be."

Brianna in battle mode is a sight to see-not that anyone of the group has the time to sit and watch. Her twin sblades slash and twist in an intricate dance of blades. Her moves are sure and precise. She is aware of those before her alert to her enemies. There are many foes before them even with all that had been trapped and she new that trap would not last forever. If they all attacked at once things would have gone badly. There ace in the hole were their archers safe up in the trees, and that they had spread themselves out to separate those free to attack.

That left her to kill as many as quickly as she could. While the goblins went down quickly if she hit them some stood off and shot arrows and other had spears. The Orcs were tougher they took more to put them down. She would just keep doing her best and put her faith in her Goddess.

"For Amaterrana" she yells out as she maximizes her attacks (Cleave, Power attack -5 to hit +5 to dammage). Brianna turns slight in place from Highnar to give him clear range to fight two foes and her clear range to fight two also. She is still working on keeping foes from their backs and if necessary will give ground to keep foes from flanking them or getting in behind them.

Dae watched until the curtains stilled and turned back to the others.

"I thinks a good night's sleep is in order. If it is all right with the rest of you let us rise with the sun and get going."

She turns to the Prince, "I need to prevail upon you to locate two horses riding horses that are strong and enduring and a pack animal, I can pay for them all," says Dalyndra. "You have resources I do not. Finding and purchasing such animals by morning might prove impossible. also some messenger birds to carry information back to you so we can keep you apprised of the what is happening."

The gifts from the Elves had surprised her. The globe was a surprise too. She had never heard of it existence beofre. Elves do not keep treasure hiddened, but they were out and used. A wonder for sure.

Well this forsome was now committed to the mission. Light hope that they will become a team.

Subject: Dae

"Once those sort of ships flew in the hundreds perhaps more. What sort of world was it then? So much was lost even by the elves. It truly stretches the imagination to think about it." Dalyndra speaks with a touch of awe in her voice.

After Septimus accepted the Prince's mission, which surprised Dae that he was the first to do so, Jason and Zara stepped forward and accepted. Dae is last to follow suit.

"I accept this mission with all it ramifications. If there is a connection to the Mageocracies in this rebuilding, we will endeavor to discover that. If there is a connection between what was there in the Pre-cataclysm then we will work to discover that."

"Of a more practical concern, we are not many , so if we find suitable party members to join our quest can we add those to our number?" She had to ask, the Prince may well want no one else to know, but they were shorthanded. A full Magic User and a Straight fighter would be an asset, and a full cleric. She herself was a favored soul and fighter and Zara was a favored soul and a low level sorceress. Septimus had the look of a fighter but the introduction her gave led to believe there was much more of the rogue about him. Why else have a price of his head of so much.

Dalyndra was tempted to ask the Prince more about Septimus, but she wouldn't. They were going to have to work together and she didn't think he would appreciate it if she went behind his back to get that information. She had the strongest impression that he needed to be dealt with directly, face to face, and he would say what he wanted to and nothing more. That was find by her and reciprocal in her case. She would tell him if he had questions. Though Azara ws another matter. Dae could not really say for sure how Zara would respond to questions about herslef. She could twist words with the best of them, and sometimes after listening to what she answered you were not always sure your questions were answered.

This errant thought brought a slight smaile to Dae's face which lightened her more serious mean for a while. Another thought was that this group of four had a better chance of working together than the first group of four.

After the Prince replies Dalyndra turns to Jason. "Jason, she said clearly stating who he was speaking to." you said you had to introduce us to Midnight." is he here at the inn or elsewhere?"

As Dalyndra turned to face Jason she noticed a faint fluttering of a heavy curtains across one of the room’s window, but it is low rather than high. She quickly cast "Detect Evil" as her hand goes to her sword and she starts to draw it.

Almost as soon as she does a voice rings out. "Hold your hand, Dalyndra Goldenwings." comes a voice in High Elven “We are not enemies. Peace be, to you all. The tall elven man, well dressed with a circlet on his head with a single stone at it center. Opens the curtain and steps out from it, and then another follow him less tall but dressed similarly. Across the room two more appear, as if out of the woodwork.

Dalyndra bows deeply. "Greeting Prince Lynellwyn of the House of Haven" I should have realized that such a precious artifact, all-be-it on loan from the elves, would have come with protectors.".

"We are not here only as protection, but we were interested in seeing that those chosen would have the best chance of seeing this mission through. A strange foursome but when put together your strengths should compliment each other.” The rich timber of his voice fills the room, but not with loudness. A person used too being obeyed. He was not dressed richly but his bearing belied his simple well cut and tailored, tunic and pants of deep forest green with some embroidery as trim, but nothing out of the ordinary His hair and features were classically elven. High forehead, very pale hair and skin, tall and willowy, but with no fragility about him, he was more like an elven long sword, slender, flexible and hard as the finest steel

"I do also realize you are not a full compliment yet. I wish I could call on others of our kind to join you but with all those of elven blood here, it really needs more humans, dwarves,, halflings or or perhaps some of the animen races. I will see what I can do in that part but I can make no guarantees. Prince Seldar and I have concluded that it is best if you set out as soon a possible the route from here to the borders of the Barrens is quite clear cut. If I can't find anyone by tomorrow morning then I will send them after you. They will have a signet from my house or Prince Seldar's house. Other than that, use good judgment."

Prince Lynellwyn steps forward and offers his hand to all the party members. First to Zara, he takes up her hand and salutes it with a kiss. "Next time, little one, please does not use dye to change the color of my swans. He takes out a scroll case from his side. Here is a few spells you can use, one is color change. At least if you use this the color will wear off before they molt. You will not have to study these spells read them once and they will be permanently in your memory. Oh ,and there the wand of Elowynna in there as well. (It has both restoration and regeneration.) He casually adds that last bit as if it were the least important part of his gift.

The elven prince moves over to Jason. "Protector of Nature" he says as he nods to one of his men and the man steps forward with a small case bound in leather “This is something that may aid you. It is the Horn of Haryndil. Three times per day you can summon Nature’s allies of 4 levels higher than you are. Use it well to accomplish your mission."

The elven prince moves over to stand before Septimus, but stops at a comfortable distance to Septimus. The Prince seems to recognize a man that needs extra space. “Septimus Sandalwood, Fulfill this mission and there are places where human laws do not apply, but for now accept this gift, it should help you. Nodding to the last man the mans steps forward with a velvet bag about 1’ by 1.5’ in dimension The man opens it and brings out a raiment of sparkling tiny silver rings. Holding it out to Septimus, the Elven prince says “This you might find useful in protecting yourself. It is a shirt of feather light elven mithral chain, glamoured, with speed and magic protect." (+4, non-encumbering, speed, glamoured, allows a dex of +

Coming to Dalyndra she picks up her hand and kisses it lightly. Do your house and heritage proud, Dalyndra Goldenwings. I think you can use this. He hands her a ring “Three times a day, this ring can double one skill or ability and offers you resistance to various threats." (+4 resistance)

"May the Light shine on you all and hold you in his sight."

The elven prince walks over to the globe and touches a hidden button. The globs drops down, the case closes itself. The Elven Prince takes out a bag and commands the closed case into the bag in a tongue that you others can only partially understand, something close to "entering" or something like that.

“It is a good start Prince Seldar.” Lynellwyn salutes Prince Seldar”

"When you return," he says looking to the four, "we will meet again." The prince walks back behind the curtain he came out from. The other elves follow the prince. There is a brief breeze of fresh air and then nothing. The strange part is the breeze is filled with the scents of forest and flowers and not the city's damp night air.

He had several spells that can probide aid but his best is Prayer.

Geim begins to cast Prayer to aid his friends and hinder their foes. He gathers himself and clearly enunciates the ancient words of Prayer ot Khadox, evoking his Deity;s intervention in this battle

The first globe was a treasure for sure. Someone had spent hours and hours of hard work crafting the globe with the vivid colors of semiprecious stone, but it paled to insignificance when the larger globe was revealed.

Dae's eyes widen with surprise when she realized it was not just beautiful beyond belief, it was also was treasured artifact from the before time.

She turns to the Prince. "You are most correct in your assumptions. Amongst the Elves not as many generations have passed since the Cataclysm, as we called it. Elfhome was indeed lost to us. We are only the remnants left here when Elfhome was separated from this world. Many elves chose to go to Elfhome before it was closed off to the world. Many also stayed. The oldest bloodlines were lost to us. This is why today there are different types of elves, those of the forest, the plains, the mountains, the snow, and the most elusive and most changed of us the deep wood elves, some say they are crossed with fairy folk and not pure elves and the aquatic elves."

"This must be the world as it was before the cataclysm, can I touch it?" Dae asks even as she walks around it. Kalos was totally unfamiliar without the vast Sea of Annihilation that took out the huge circle of land almost out of the center of the continent, and on the far side of the globe were the unknown continents--Four of them --three north of the equator and one larger south of the two most easter continents. The continent closest to the east coast of Kalos had to be the fabled land of Shahndar lost destroyed in the cataclysm.

She does hand him, or her, the list of all the things she has packed and asks if there is anything else she should take that would prove more efficacious.

When she is done there Inga finds her way to where the others are located manyly by asking questions and getting direction. She is actively attentive to her surroundings. keeping her eyes and ears busy as she moves to where the team is at.

While she had lived for periods of time in very cold weather near the artic sircle and the family vacations to Norway. SHe knows the conditions here are much colder. THe vast expanse of frozen landscape totally surrounding this place and for miles in every direction certainly is something she had never experience before.

This frozen land had to be respected, It had no pity for the inexperienced the unwary, the unprepared, or even the unlucky. This was certainly a new experience for Val. Living in a land-locked Sylvari kingdom maile for any large body of water, she had never had been on any large boat before nor sailed on waters where the distant horizon showed no sign of land.

It tool a moment or two for Val to learn the trick of watching a fixed point so as not to becaome effected by the swing and sway, and dip and rise of the boat they were on. She likened it to a leaf on a bubbling creek, bobbing up and down ans twirling around. Well that it what it sort of felt like.

Once out into open water the salty tang remained in the air but not the other less ordorous smells of dead fish and brackish water in the harbow. In fact it was quite nice.

"Well, I am aboard my first boat. It is a remarkable experience." Val states. "It is really quite nice out here."

Dalyndra takes her lead from the Prince. Seeing no adverse reaction to the man and if fact quite the opposite. The Prince motions him forward.

She stands and reaches out her hand in welcome. " Glad to have you here," she respoinses to the man. "I am Dalyndra Goldenwings." She lets others introduced themselves. It is not too hard to figure out this man is either a ranger or druid or both. It will certainly be of great assistance to them as they traverse lands that have seen few people in hundreds of years. Pf cpiurse she is still hoping for a cleric and a magic user to join them. A clerics for their divine skills and spells, and a Magic User for the arcane skill and knowledge. Especially since the lands hads be ravaged by Mage wars hundreds of years ago too. There was no telling what magic might have twisted what is normal into other things leass easily defeated or dealth with.

Havng a active imagination that she tried very hard to keep control of with her more rational mind still allowed her to think on many things that could go wrong.

To the Prince she addresses her concerns. "Your HIghness. We really need to recruit and Magic User and a Cleric. THere skills and knowledge will be of importance to the success of our mission. Topic: Rylanor -- The Building of an Empire
Subject: Dalyndra.

Dalyndra was not sure what exactly was going on, but it seemed to her as if some of this had been a test. Though she couldn't figure out what the test was supposed to reveal about them, or what the Prince wanted to know.

Carefully she goes over the nights events in her mind trying to figure it out. There had been the introductions which were straight forward enough to say the least. That they were widely different people from different backgrounds was evident. Since The Prince had been there for all their introductions and had heard what they all had to say he knew that much about them. Dalyndra also knew he must know much more than just those introductions. She suscpects that he had plenty of information on them all. True, as Selena had pointed out, Dalyndra had presented information about herself, but little more. Personally she had not felt that her parents and her relations were something she would draw upon, except for what they had taught her and what was ingrained in her upbringing. But she did not use their names or who they were when introducing herself. She stood and introduced herself and what she was and had made of herself.

The later events took their own strange turnings. Certainly they were nothing she had expected from the initial gathering and introduction. Of course that did not include Zara, who was a force of nature, unto herself. Dalyndra remember several occasions earlier in their relationship as half-sisters. Sometimes things just happened around her. Though, this time it was Zara’s actions that precipitated most of the events.

Not that Dalyndra blamed Zara for Selena’s actions and reactions. That incident still puzzled Dalyndra because it just seemed to make no sense to her. Septimus was much more understandable. He was a man pushed very close to his limits right now. He walked a fine line and he walked it alone. Zara first and then Dalyndra held out a helping hand but he had rebuffed them both. His actions though his own would not stop Dalyndra from offering again should she feel he needed help. Though, she might have to find a way to be less direct about it. Which was a sort of problem for her being a rather up front person, direct and to the point her father once had told her.

Dalyndra watched Zara, and then turned her attention back to the Prince. He apparently knew about most of the goings on this night after they had left. Dalyndra knew that they had on of the Prince's people with them courier or not.

All the time Dalyndra thought as she ate, she too was interested in what the Prince had to say and she could tell that Zara was too, nibbling away at a few items while her eyes kept moving about.

Dalyndra finished her meal and set down her dishes over on an empty serving platter. Taking a goblet she poured herself a glass of wine and sat down again with her attention politely on the Prince.

Once inside that she leans over to the techie Chief. "Sir, by any chance did you see what the wrong coordinates were?"

Inga takes the same care unloading all her supplies our of the Cat. though now she does it by count. 1..2..3..4.. until she accounts for all.

Inga makes her salute to the Colonel, but waits until after he has finished and her groups leaders have spoken. She does have a question to ask though before any rest. Inga hopes she can gain some practical knowledge of what sort of medical issues she might have to deal with because of extreme weather effects. Quick, proper treatment is crucial in such extremr conditions. The cold itself works against you most of the time. Any information she could get would help make her treatment of her team the best she could give them.

When all others are done she salute the Major smartly, "Major Carrolton, Sir, Corpol Johannsen, Medic. I request permission to speak with your chief Medical officer, Sir."

The medical book was a classic, “Gray's Anatomy”.. Of course it was more pictures and diagrams that reading but it contained a wealth of information that she was memorizing. She would be applying to medical school when she ws ready. No reason not to use down time like this to get this memorized.

The scram jet was small and there ws not much more they could do other than be strapped into the seats and wait for touchdown. When the jets kicked in they kicked like a mule.

Mack 6 wasn't too bad for short bits of time but the constant high acceleration was quite difficult. Breathing became a labor and you had to fight it or you would succumbing to the pressure and black out. Being really physically fit helped.

When the first alarms sounded Inga was not worried though she did not know what it was for. When the red light started flashing and the alarm continued. Then she was concerned.

Inga looked around to pin piont where the alarm was coming from as if she could figureout what was flashing for what reason. Only she didn’t have the slightest idea. Inga continued to wait for any orders though she stashed her book in her pack and closed it up tight.

She waited to see who was responding to the alarm. and some were already, so she made no attempt to get up figuring she would just be in their way in the cramped quarters.

As Geim's new player I do not know what items may be available for him to use, if he is in the group that has unclaimed items. If he is, what are the items?

Dalyndra did not bother to say anything more to the woman either before or as she departed. There was no reason to do so since she would not listen. and several reasons not too. Having said her piece she walked back to Zara.

Listening to Zara's comment, Dalyndra response evenly, "We ultimately only can control ourselves. I, perhaps, was not as diplomatic as I could have been, that was my failing." Dalyndra tries to keep a open mind about the young woman she was trying really hard to keep a positive attitude as well."

"I will keep my word to go on this mission and keep to what I told her. Now, we have things to do before we leave. I need first to stop at a Temple of the Light."

Dalyndra asks the Prince's courier to take them to the closest Temple of the Light. She sets off briskly, as time is of the essence now.

Once there Dalyndra asks the lackey to wait for her inviting him inside out of the damp cold night. Inside the temple is bright with light reflect from many sources against white marble walls. In the center of the main floor is a large circle of golden stone, The circle of Light. The symbol of the Light, and eight pointed star gold with four greater rays of gold and four lesser rays of silver between them. Encircling them all is an prismatic dragon its scales shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow on the North wall. This circular room is common to all temple's of the Light, small and large.

At the Temple she shows a letter of writ from the main Temple of the Light near home. It allows Dalyndra to be provided such things as can be spared by the receiver to aid her quest. She will request two horses and a pack animal for their journey and replacements for what was lost coming here, though that she would pay out of her own pocket.

The Temple acolyte who greeted them first listened to Dalyndra’s request and then showed Dalyndra and Zara to the priest on duty that night. She explained her needs and the priest tells she he will arrange for everything to be delivered to the Golden Cauldron as soon as possible. Dalyndra sign a chit for the fair value of the horses and goods she has requested that this temple can submit to the main temple for repayment. She also requests the services of a mage with the ability to copy a map and other information. Once that is done she goes into the circle of Light to pray for the success of this mission, again trying to keep a positive attitude on it, but it was hard after all the goings on tonight after leaving the Prince's summer house.

Dalyndra comes out of the circle, some time later, tithes a platinum piece and has the courier lead them finally to the Golden Cauldron. Dalyndra hands the young man two gold coins for all his patience this night.

Dalyndra shook her head to Zara. She had proceeded on ,but sensed some problem and had return with the man who was to lead them to the inn.

She walks back to where Septimus still lay on the ground.

The currents in the air were full or emotions from several sources and few of them complimentary to the originator of them. Care would need to be taken if their mission was to ever even get out of the gate--so to speak.

"Do you need help to rise Septimus. I will help you." She help out her hand to him and something more. It was in her eyes, and her manner. The moonlight reflected off her and for a moment it seems she was writhed in light her outline blurred a bit, though perhaps Septimus could put it down to tiredness and blurry eyes. Her voice beckond him to come with her. It was melodious and touched places she most likely did not want others to know about.

Her words were clear and concise, but not commands though Septimus does clearly understand she will not let him stay here like this.

"There are important things that need to be done and few of us to do them. You were most specifically brought into this mission because of talents you possess. I assure I don't have them. Zara doesn't have them and I doubt the Royal miss would have them either. The others left not wanting to risk doing this."

Dalyndra turns to look where the source of so much roiling emotions was coming from. Something she was sensitive to.

"If you are afraid to go on this mission then tell me and I will leave you here, If not I will have you with us, so you get up on you own, or with my help, or I carry you if I need to." she states firm.

Her hand is still out for him, "Take my hand now I can support you for as long as you need." Something in her words rang true they sounded as if they meant so much more than what was just said.

"There are way too many emotions flying around right now. Some are understandable some are not."

"Just one thing I need you to hear I will say this once and only once." Dalyndra voice dropped so only he could hear her. "Zara is a special young woman, do not hurt her needlessly. Do not toy with her emotions." Dalyndra paused and then added "And never tell her I told you this."
