My apologies, it would seem I am not closer to making your character then I was on Friday and now with school back in swing I have no idea when he'll be done, I have rolled his ability scores though and they are quite respectable but you need to order the abilities in to how important they are to you.
They are:
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Constitution
- Intelligence
- Wisdom
- Charisma
Once I have these it should be a short walk to having Rex's character done.

He had begun to start shouting orders to the captain even when he was halfway up the gangplank and the other 3 wouldn't have made it if they had left it any longer. As Evani dragged Septimus onboard Shaben was already there, not to help though, there was the more pressing matter of the gangplank and so with his hand clutching at the side rail he kicked it off, almost going with it if it wasn’t for his hand being there.
Even then he didn't answer Evani and instead loaded his musket, focusing intently on the job as his arm was so painful and preying to whatever gods there were that the soldiers coming down to the port wouldn't try to jump onto the cargo netting on the back of the ship.
As for the ship it's massive paddles turned as it's funnel churned out heat and smoke, they were moving slowly for now but soon they would be going faster, that was why he picked a paddle steamer, it could go when the wind didn't let others sail, and just as the navigational chief had told him today was completely calm, not a single wind to sail on, and so they were safe. With his musket loaded he made his way to the back of the boat where he saw, to his horror, two men climbing the cargo netting. A quick shot clipped the first mans hand causing him to let go completely from shock and pain, he could do little with the second.

There were two things and animal prepares to do, fight or flight, fortunately Acantha also had magic. He began to speak a string of nonsense words that only druids could understand and made a series of hand gestures, the results of which weren't immediately seen but sure enough they had an effect.
The grasses and vines on the ground rapped themselves around the feet and legs of the goblins, small bushes made grabs for arms and trees close to the goblins grabbed them in a firm hold. The effect was like a living sea of grass, vines and branches all snaring the limbs of any living creature that got close enough, they would do there best to hold the pitiful creatures still.
The wolf, Cheli, saw this as a sign to attack, something that it had learnt to understand as would be followed with the order to attack and so he rushed forward towards the nearest goblin, teeth bared. And suddenly he was there, his teeth made for whatever part of the goblin he could reach.
OOC: I have casted Entangle.

It had seemed that his mercenary had arrived, and was waiting in the eaves, a master tactician. The soldier that was blocking the way had been felled, by who he didn't notice as a sword had cut into his arm, it was only a graze but it was still distracting.
He quickly stooped, leaving himself open to attack, and scoped up his musket before running up the gangplank, his rash action to save Evani had attracted these men, and undoubtedly more were coming. The sooner they got away the better.

Hearing the females response made him no happier but it seemed the only thing they could do, he walked carefully around the goblin camp as every tree and bush and bird called out to him stop this madness. He got a quarter round from the female and told Cheli to stay, resentfully he did, he knew something was wrong.
When he was on the other side from the camp to the female he quietly prepared himself and approached the camp. He pushed aside the last leaves and made a few steps into the camp before announcing himself to the goblins.
OOC:If you are not interested in role-playing goblins then Acantha will try to trade the elves for the food he has found and attempt a diplomacy check (result of 13).

"The lynx would fight the wolf but flee the pack, but that isn't what we need to do, when most the wolves are sleeping the crow takes his fill of there prey. We shall copy the crow but will need to distract the guards that are still awake, I have found food for them and hope they might trade the elves for it, and when there backs are turned that is when you can take there fire powder and sticks or whatever those substances are called."
During the males talking though a wolf appears out of the tree's, you recognize it as the same one that was next to the male earlier and as it approaches him he makes to pat it and it obligingly lets him, strange behavior for a wolf but maybe there is some unseen connection between them.
"However if you think this wont work then join me in eating and we shall devise a better way to free the elves and steel the fire powder."

Dev's character is tagging along, if only to escape. She is on the ship but will be played as an NPC, by myself, untill landing in Athkatla.
This is the first combat in the game so you wont find any help there Hammer, but please do involve what I have told you in your next post, as a kind of damage report.

Shaben seemed altogether unsurprised by this group, he looks straight at the captain and denies his offer. Once the captain gives the order to attack Shaben looks straight at the closest soldier and says
"Are you positive you want to do this, well, if you are..."
Shaben, the quickest draw in the government made his mark then. His dropped his now unloaded musket and drew out his pistol in less then a second, raising it to the man and shooting in one fluid movement. It was almost graceful if apart from the splatter of blood that shot back from the wound and the quiet thud of a body falling to the ground.

Soon Chrysta runs up to the rest of you saying how she slept in, she indeed looks tired and has obviously had a rough night.
After some quick explaining by Shaben she boards the ship. It isn't long after this however that a large group of men burst out of a near by building, the commander of the group yells instructions to cut of access to the ship. Now with them being so close you can see they all wear the same uniform as Shaben, pale blue cloaks and breastplate, however, unlike Shaben now on the have guns and produce a series of swords. The commander then speaks to Shaben,
"Shaben, give yourself in, you can still get out of this."
To which he relays never and the captain orders them to attack.

Shaben didn't make a single movement as his lief was threatened as he had to concentrate more after an incident last year.
"Septimus, we are in danger, we shall wait for the others but then we have to leave. I belive there is an agent in the town who wishes to kill us, when we leave I shall talk but untill then I need to concentrate, up on the cliff top, those two figgures are Evani and who I belive to be the agent, I need to take them out, don't worry, I'm a good shot but you need to get her out of there before she summons the guards."
At that moment Shaben saw figure make a strange movement, it seemed to take a knee whrst holding some thing pointed at Evani, it was an agent, and the agent was going to kill Evani. That was all he needed to shoot, his bullet speed through the air and found it's mark embedding itself in the skull of the suposed agent, it fell to the ground dead. That was the first time Septimus had ever seen Shaben shoot.

It didn't take long to find her, keeping out of site of the camp he had edged round untill he found her. She was standing looking at something, her gaze drew his to where it was centered, on some barrels and a few red sticks, he had never come across something like this before and was intrigued. A spring of questions formed inside of him, what were they? Where did they come from? What was there purpose? Why did the goblins have them? Could they harm the forest? But most importantly, how did the goblins intend to use it?
He asked her
"What is it?
his tone was inquisitive but he was worried by the look on her face, the substance was evidently not good.
After waiting for a response he explained his idea to her
"I'll try to draw their attention, I'll try to trade for the elves release, when I'm doing that you help loosen the ropes binding the elves so if they don't agree to trade we can all run. I don't think you should take that thing"
he indicates the strange substance
"as if you do then they'll be even more angry."

Shaben saw the movement clearly, it was Sep following him, but he was intent on letting Sep descover what he was doing himself.
It was ahortly after he boarded the ship that he saw another movement caught his eye, up on the road, he aimed his musket towards it but didin't shoot, he just kept it in his sight. He hoped that it was a friend but he couldn't be too sure.

Subject: Shaben's night
Shaben's night was long and dreamless, he just tossed and turned. He was too worried to dream and too scared to fall asleep for a long time. His nigh passed in a flash as far as his memory of it was concerned because there was nothing to remember, but to his subconscious it was as trying as a whole days forced march.
He woke up before the sun had even begun to start thinking about rising, in reality he had only slept 6 hours and was still exhausted. He dressed, gathered all his things and left without a word. Down at the port there were two ships as opposed to one, 'Good, they got here.' he thought as he bordered it.
He then took up position, hoping that his mercenary would show his face soon, with his musket so that he had a clear shot of the path down towards the docks, laid out the tin of bullets and gun powder next to him and silently watched the the top of the path for any movement so that he could snuff it out quick.

After retreating to what he thought of as a safe distance and having something to eat Acantha felt a lot better, a slight wind ran through the trees at the present time and he started thinking of what would be the best plan. The goblins would obviously take watches and they would probably move off in the morning, during this time he had let his wolf companion go hunting, Cheli didn't care for berries, and shortly after he came back with a rabbit (Survival check 12, Witness Hammer) in his mouth.
This gave Acantha an idea, if he could somehow create a distraction then the female elf could free herself and untie the other elf, but what would be a good enough distraction. He decided that his distraction could be him trying to barter there freedom with fresh meat, as of such he then went out hunting and foraging with his wolf and managed to find food enough for 9 people in under an hour (Survival check 28, Witness Hammer). He then returned to his 'ambush' spot and placed down the food before trying to locate the female by walking round the clearing and checking on the elves.
