"Thank you for the greeting" Rothrar replies in undercommon and seeing Aelistae's reaction says "I believe that this is the language commonly spoken among the people of the deep and your own race."

As you turn you see a strange creature stepping through the portal. He is a heavily muscled 7'2" Half Ogre with green skin, brown hair and green eyes. He has bad breath. There is a tiny tattoo of tribal significance on his neck which he keeps discretely hidden. He speaks with a husky voice in a strangely polite manner. He carries a bulging backpack and a sack over his shoulder, at his waist hangs an axe and a quiver of arrows. Also slung over his back is the largest longbow you have ever seen and as he speaks he draws is out and loads an arrow.

"I do not threaten you with this as it is simply intended for defence. Now to business, we are, I assume, stranded underground in an unknown and unmapped territory so our own lives are our first priority. What cause of action do we take if we encounter a drow?"

Subject: Dead End

As you make your way down the tunnel you come to a sharp bend in the end and it is in-fact a dead end. However just round the bend is a small pool of water and at the bottom of the pool is a pile of small silver coins, about 7 of them.

The rest of the group at the table room here a small amount of commotion from the main chamber (where the 50 goblins are) and shuffling footsteps coming from that room in there direction.

Topic: Underdark
Subject: The portal

After he had handed the money over to Dusk he had second thoughts about it. Before he had felt so sure that his old friend might not go but apparently this treasure lust had infected Dusk as well as the drow lady, although he can not pronounce her name due to the arrangement of teeth in his mouth, she seemed another fine companion if they were to be chosen in the same group.

Also with analysis of Dusk's eyes when he started talking about the hoard he realised that Dusk still took him for the greedy fool he was when they first met, in fact retirement was the very last thing on Rothrar's mind for he could not stand boredom and he only wanted enough to buy better armour.

So without another word in the world of the sun and the birds and only a nod at his friend that he might never see again, for he was sure he would survive to see this upper world he didn't know about Dusk, and barged and shouldered his way to the portal and without a backwards glance stepped into the land where night was a constant but where there was still life and where he could still see.

The grate is just that, a large, thick iron grate, no door, no lock, no hinge, just an iron grate embedded into the rock.

Subject: At the feast

Although I have already eaten you never know where your next or even where your last meal will come from in the mercenary trade so I ate up greatly while mulling over the prospect of fame and 'a dragons hoard of gold'.

'... I suppose that I could always do with some better armour but being famous might attract too much attention, after all if my tribe knew they would definitely hunt me down...' he thought to himself.
'...the underdark isn't a nice place, especially for my race, I'm a slave race as far as the drow and their allies are concerned and I've already had to flee for my life once and once is enough...' and his train of thought continued along that line until he settled on the idea that if he was with others he would be safer, and that there is no one he would rather enter the underdark with then his old acquaintance, Dusk.

Settling on that knowledge but aware that he might not end up with him by his side he finished his meal, decided that Dusk can't be far away and went off in search of him with the idea of offering the job with the reward at the end of immense fame and a hoard of treasure to big to count. And if he needed payment there and then, an extra incentive of just was feeling exceptional greedy would offer 10pp of his own money.

Before turning back down the passage way Silithus and Talaones see two empty side rooms with old blankets in and a larger 20ft square room with a couple of goblin talking in. Seceding on their move silently checks they sunk away unnoticed.

In passing the two side passage ways Delkin can see that the first carries on for 30ft and ends in a small room. The second leads into a large room with some sleeping orcs in.
At the end of the passage he is currently on is an iron grate but past it he can see a corridor with the morning light streaming through it, realizing that they need to escape quickly he returns to the table and reports what e has found out.

Very anti-goblinoid.
Sung passing a cave full of 50 goblins!

Many Goblins in the hall
Surely we can take them all
There must be fifty of this scum
But we will kill them every one
Find a rock or grab a spear
Go to arms; We're out of here

Subject: Goblins came and took our stuff

This one was created as Devalero discovered the starting situation for Home Grown.

Goblins came and took our stuff
And if that wasn't quite enough
Humiliation and despair
Goblins, Goblins everywhere

How did we get into this mess
Goblins are the weakest race
Covered in their murk and mire
Peasant Garb is our attire

Link to song's location.

All the following songs were sung by the bard 'Trynk', played by 'Devalero', in my adventure/campaign 'Home Grown' so I can not take credit for them.

Subject: The 'table room'

At this junction you can either go straight ahead and round a corner, following the sound of murmuring voices. Turn right towards what looks like a dead end or left. The left tunnel carries on for about 30ft then curves round but has two other passages leading off.

Tyra also manages to construct a rough sling, 'It's not very good but it'll do for now.' she thinks as she turns to follow the others.

Subject: I started

I started from the box-set so my first was that elven wizard that I can't remember the name of, she was killed within 3 rounds of play by a goblin with a javelin

The first I created was called Hovise and he was a human druid. But I'm not playing him as he got boring after level 12.

The floor is littered with rocks so take your pick.

As you head towards the exit of the cave you can see that it branches two ways, one goes through a room filled with about 50 goblins and a couple of orcs, the exit and shows a passage open next to the exit. The other carries on for about 20ft then comes to a sort of cross roads with a small table in the middle of it.
