Topic: What Games are You Planning?
Subject: Hum.. Games

I'm working on getting Lantan up to speed with Home Grown, yes, they are in the same time period and yes they will affect each other. I am planing a small Star Wars game based roughly on trade, space combat and that general sort of thing (might run different versions of this and have an ongoing competition).

I have two games running at home as well but I keep those strictly face to face.

As for future games I plan to create my own version of D&D.

YeOlde, I would like to bring it to your attention that I had already thought of your idea about a guild conspiracy and that would be the automatic reaction of my character if he did not know that the guilds want to war over so they can continue business. I, and Kavtan, do think it odd that The Union security forces turned up and not The Guild's security forces.

We can talk conspiracy's here but not let it affect our characters, once we are eating with Cern Namor we can talk conspiracies, I think it will be a very long meal.

Topic: 4th edition FR Information (not for the feint hearted)
Subject: The Problem

My problem is this:

When I started DMing I was 11 or 12, I had to use the WotC stuff because I was too young to create my own materials for my game. I would now but I don't have enough time. Over the holidays I plan to have a long sit down and think about D&D, I'll create my own source materials and realms as well as time periods and time-line.

But until then I have to use WotC, it's convenience and there are enough lazy people to not bother questioning it.

EDIT: Needless to say I will post the finalised rules up on the inn for your use if you choose to use them and any input would be invaluable, if you do have something you want to suggest or tell me then send it to me directly so this thread stays on topic.

Kavtan turns to face Ninkanna as not to cause offence to Tamir Slade and addresses her, being careful not to mention her name. He might be injured and in pain but that's no reason for him to reveal his partners name, and no excuse for carelessness. If The Union found her name they could dig something up on her and try something, it was obvious that she didn't want them to know them.
"I know you want to find your master and the second jedi padawan but this needs your attention, there has been an assassination attempt and would be undiplomatic..."
turning back to Tamir he begs his pardon and insists that he means no offence
"to leave it to an allied party, let alone The Union or The Guild's security forces."

He turns back to Tamir if he responds but continues to face Ninkanna waiting for her response.

As Sep demands to see the council of six the captain responds.
"I've been payed to take you to Athkatla and that is what I'll do, as with the council of six you can find them yourself, I have no idea where they are and like most of the world have no idea who they are. But Shaben did leave me a name, he told me to tell it to you if he couldn't make it, the name is Corfsand. I don't know what it means but that's what he said."

Still reeling from his blaster wounds he responded.
"My name is Kavtan Cleentor, I work for Klebb at his landing strip and was there when the bomb exploded on the transport. That is when I became involved with this Jedi, we decided to pursue the arcona to save time and with the intention of questioning him. With your authority I would like to search the arcona for a detonation device."
His response was measured, he had a good mind to be reproachful for the killing of the arcona but he had dealt with The Union before. It was a member of them that had tried to assassinate him.

With this he holstered his Hold-Out Blaster, he knew it was perfectly legal but not wise to have it on display, and deactivated his stun baton before hanging it on his belt.

The rest of the journey will be quicker. The captain will take you there and give you a name, remember that name, it's important.

Using the wall for cover he just dodges the humans shot but this throws his shot right off, it had been better if he hadn't fired as he nearly hit his ally. Still on his guard he takes a second shot at the human and sees Ninkanna slice the Arcona's legs clean off, 'well' the thought 'at least that'll keep him incapacitated'. He also noted that he had turned on Ninkanna, they seemed even keener to kill her now, they didn't seem too bothered about him at the moment, they probably thought him a (£@? shot.

if my character survives this combat what modifications can I make to my blaster. The sort of thing I have in mind is deactivating the lethal setting and increasing the stun settings DC.

I know that it's highly likely that the arcona will only be unconscious for one round but are you, Cap'n Lou, going to say that he needs a round to stand up and pick up his equipment before attacking?

The congealed light from his blaster impacted with the Arcona, right in the chest, it was a good shot but the arcona himself couldn't appreciate it, he was on the floor. They were only guarantied a few seconds of him being out before he started coming...

It hit him, he couldn't dodge it, the thug that the Jedi, he couldn't call up her name at the moment, hadn't attacked shot him. A spasm of pain shot through his body, these were not like him, he valued life, they didn't. Fighting defensively was his only choice, he couldn't risk being shot again. He changed his gun's setting to lethal and put the majority of his energy into trying to dodge the thugs next attack and shot.

(OOC: Just to clarify, Kavtan has taken a free action to change the setting on his Hold-Out Blaster and is fighting defensively, incurring a -4 on his attack but gaining +2 to his defence)

I know, I got my equivalent of study leave today, the school found a way past the government ban.

Remember, Shaben has gone with them on his own accord.

Out of game I can tell you he won't be mistreated and that if you attack not only will your attack fail but you will be almost instantly slain.

The best way to help him is to tell the Council of Six about Lantan going to war and then follow up leads to find him, it is part of the plot to find him by the way.

The best course of action is exactly what Hammer is doing with Rex, maybe he could stop you guys attacking if you decide to do so.

He saw the goblin fall, he saw the elf fighting for her life, he had made things worse. He was badly wounded, you must know when to fight and when to run, for all his connection to the world he ran. He turned and made for cover behind a tent before running, his companion would find him, he might not forgive him but death was part of their lives. Him, he could live for ever, every day for every year until he was killed. A fight lost today dose not mean death, he would rather live for countless others.

The entangled wolf pined for his presence but he did not come.

And with that he dissapears below deck of the other ship.

Thank you for listening, I do have a nack at complecating things.

I'm glad the chase is at an end but I hope it isn't the end of the line for Kavtan. He wont kill, he resents killing, it's a wast of a life but he will stun without a second thought.

So far I'm rearly enjoying Star Wars, good show Cap'n Lou

Topic: Star Wars: Patterns of Deception
Subject: Kavtan Cleentor

As the pair of Arcona made for the smashed window Kavtan had little time to comprehend what happened. Si-Di was nowhere to be seen, one of the Arcona had fallen, he did not know whether it had stumbled or not, and himself and Ninkanna were chasing after the other Arcona. It made his way out onto the street, Main Street; it would be hell to follow him there.

Dashing through the crowds he nearly collided with a protocol droid but hardly noticed. Down the street the steam was obscuring the Acrona. He went down Main Street with Ninkanna and himself in close pursuit, dodging speeders and people and droids. Then he turned. Into a side ally. Ninkanna followed. He was about to turn into the ally when he heard blasters. Ambush. They had been foolish to let him get this far.

The momentum of the chase and his own adrenalin subsiding he stopped to think briefly. Would he risk his life for a Jedi? He could walk away now, forget about it and go back to normal life. On one hand travel, what he was born to do, the instinct that had lie dormant for a decade. On the other, a job.

He chose travel, putting his baton in his left hand and drawing his blaster. One of the small 'hold out' varieties he hadn't got around to adapting. (OOC: Reading an attack against the Acrona) Calmly he stepped around the corner and fired at the Arcona (OOC: using readied attack), only one shot, that should be enough to stun.

(OOC: As Kavtan is not using his stun baton he doesn’t occur any penalties for using two weapons. Also, all Kavtans weapons are always on the stun setting.)

yay, progress

and running is at 4xspeed so it's 40 m in 6 seconds grugg, a very unrealistic number but still, unless I get told of a house rule it's the one I'm using. Please let there be a house rule.

The progress of the steamer was fast, it plowed through the water not stopping for anything, that was until it stopped. The boilers were going but somehow the water was resisting, but it was more then that, it was holding the ship back.

You all rushed to the deck to see this as the ships abrupt stop almost toppled everyone. Slowly, out of the distance a second ship drew closer, this was almost impossible because the wind was strong and against it, and it came at unnatural speed. It slowed and stopped, three people boarded, an elf and two humans, dressed in armour seemly fashioned out of vines. The demanded for Shaben and powerless to resist he stepped forward, he was like under a spell. As them marched him onto there ship he broke free of whatever enchantment was holding him and turned to his friends.
"Friends, do not follow me, warn the council and keep hidden."
He then turned, this time out of free will and boarded the other ship, it was at that time the elven lady turned round.
"Attempt to follow us will result in your ship sinking, you are outmatched."
You find this an odd statement to make as they have no weapons on deck and no gun ports but the lady's voice carries a definite authority.
