"normal is boring", "sanity is over-rated", and "insanity makes everything more fun!"

I'm going to have to use those myself, welcome to the inn.

Subject: I hope your up for it

so many GMs/DMs and games just say no to arguments between party members, if it's proper role-playing and it's not serous it adds to the game and help with character development and can form a party identity.

I'm all for it, but do agree it need to be controlled.

PS: I haven't given my character an allignment, beacuse I don't belive in the use of allignments, but my characters are normaly neutral or chaotic good, more often chaotic then neutral.

I'm eager to get started, how many more days/characters until we can get going?

Topic: Dawn of Defiance: The Traitor's Gambit
Subject: We better get ready

Karra having treated Ithiria, and himself having shown no embarrassment at her reply, he helped Ithiria up and steady herself when she was ready. He then hugged her tight but had to wrench himself from her, an imperial hanger is not exactly the best place for anything.

(In Ryl) "Lets hope we can leave quick."

He made his was over to the captain slumped on the floor and gingerly searched the dead mans belt for a code cylinder, a datapad or datacards. Pocketing the datapad and datacards himself (if he finds any) he hands Karra the code cylinder (if he finds one) before picking his way to his pistol and picking that up.

(In Basic) "I'm going to guard the entrance in case any stormies come calling, see if you can get the door shut and locked."

He said to no one in particular before moving off to a tactical looking position.

(In Basic) "Someone stand next to the door, out of sight just in case someone comes through"

(OOC: OK, short post for now, I may get round to adding some more. I figure this should be about 5 rounds of action. Hako'ib is moving to stand just where Ara'ala is on the End of Round 4 map, so behind the right computer/diagnostics tools & droids thing. This should give him a good view of the majority of the corridor but unfortunately not all of it )

Topic: Dawn of Defiance: The Traitor's Gambit
Subject: The world

The world outside him and Ithiria had become nothing more than dull sound and meaningless colour, the moans of the dieing storm troopers could be nothing more then sigh in the wind. He had the fait inkling that Ara had ignored his hint about a code cylinder and was going to hack the door with her box of tricks...

Karra

"Take off the pack! Open it!"

He'd forgotten about Karras box of tricks, he briefly let go of Ithiria as and tugged the pack of his own back. He thumbed with the traps that held it closed before it opened and he placed it where Karra could use it easily.

His hands returned to Ithiria, quickly as if she would slip away if he'd have taken any longer to take of the pack.

(In Ryl) "You’re going to be fine, we'll get you sorted."

He looked up from Ithiria, still gently holding her hand between his, to face Karra and spoke humbly

(In Basic) "What can I do to help?"

(OOC: Going to use the Aid Another action to help Karra)

Topic: Dawn of Defiance: The Traitor's Gambit
Subject: It's hardly fair

Kneeling by Ithiria's side, his treasured weapon some meters away and his back to the rest of the world, he looked down at the green and blue twi'lek.

(In Ryl) "We got them."

He wispered back in

(In Ryl) "Ara's going to lock down the hanger and call Maya, then we can go."

He said softly, slowly stroking her tchin (tchun if left lek, lek is the singular of lekku). Waiting for Karra to appear with some medical help. He wished he could do something to help her himself.

EDIT: I am assuming that this conversation between Hako'ib and Ithiria is in Ryl, could you just confirm this G. and I'll edit my posts to reflect this.

Subject: Damn 20s

Ithiria was standing her ground against the stormies and the captain, until the captain and last stormie shot her in the gut. The shots burnt through her shirt and she went down, Hako'ibs only hope was that she wasn't dead, oh (What do you say in SW instead of god?) let her not be dead.

He took aim at the captain but a shot came from nowhere and took the captain down, Hako'ib reasoned it must have been Ara, so he quickly readjusted his aim to the last stormie, the last man standing, it was a good shot, better then a good shot, it burnt a hole through the helmet as he toppled backwards dead. Karra was doing something with Ara behind him but his concentration was elsewhere, it was with Ithiria.

"Karra!

He called out urgently.

He helped Ithiria onto her back so Karra could get to the wound easily and spoke to her an a worried voice.

(In Ryl) "Lay still, Karra'll come and help, she can do something about the wound."

Slightly urgently he spoke to Ara.

"Check the captain for a code cylinder, see if you can get into the control room and lock the hanger door."

Subject: Getting in

I don't think getting into the controll room will be too dificult, the captain should have a door key, and if not the Ithirai just cuts through it with her lightsaber.

Not too keen on manning the sled and having to be the guy that has to gun down the storm troopers but it would be an interesting situation for he to be in and have done.

Subject: Well, lets see

I think the officer is just as good as dead, he's under attack from me and Ara... thats... 3d6+6+3d8+2 (14-29-50) damage if I'm right, correct me if I'm wrong but that should be enough to kill anyone, assuming we both hit.

One dead captain, maybe we could have taken out the sled with that mush damage under our belts.

As for the door... I think it might be in someone's interst to get into the controll room and sort it out prity soon, either that or one of us can man the sled and use it againts the stormies.

Subject: Holy Symbols

I believe there may be some spells clerics can cast without holy symbols. The loss of a holy symbol doesn't per say inhibit the clerics ability to cast spells but more prevents them from channeling the divine energy of their god into the effects they want.

As a rule in my old games if a cleric losses his holy symbol then I would say they would not only need to replace it but bless it themselves with the power of their god.

I have to agree with Olan about downpowering spells.

Topic: Dawn of Defiance: The Traitor's Gambit
Subject: He had survived, they had survived

His shot found it's mark, and what a mark, just below the troopers chin. “Nice shot, Twik,” he was currently in too much pain to say anything much. “Hako’ib!”A stormie snuck up behind them but Ara saw it off.

Although his body had taken soo much punishment the surge caused by the swift dispatch of the stormie, the praise from Ara and his own brain deciding to release a cocktail of endorphins just for being pleased he was still alive meant he would wrench him out of this rut. His whole body seamed to grown as he pulled himself together, gathering renewed strength from his determination to survive. What ever happened Ara had his thanks, he supposed the wookiees would call it a life debt, maybe they owed one to each other?

To be the one to bring them back to reality he called out to Karra or Ara, whichever was best with electronic locks. Now there were less stormies it was time to worry about a less imminent threat, this was one of his rare times of genius.

"Get the door!"

It was weaker then it would normally be but otherwise it carried easily around the hanger.

He lunched forwards but soon found he was OK to walk, coming round the fount of the shuttle he saw beautiful Ithirias situation, she was between two stormies and the captain, pulling the trigger rapidly he aimed at the captain before returning round the edge of the shuttle to gain some cover.

(OOC: Now that my character isn't dying I can write longer posts. to you Aryn, you've failed this time.

Ok, so this round I'm catching a second wind, moving 4 squares round to the fount of the shuttle, using rapid shot against the captain and then using the remaining 2 squares of movement to move back round the corner of the shuttle. I think that as I've only said 3 words I can get away as that being a free action. I'm also willing to use a force point to hit the officer or to increase the damage against the officer because HE WILL DIE)

EDIT: Replaced the word offier with captain.

Subject: stun

yes, I'm against the stun system in saga, it's very different in the d20 system where if you hit then the character/npc is instantly stunned (if he fails his fortitude save) for 1d4 rounds. It means you have to keep shooting him but al least he can't shoot back.

As with Hako'ibs and Aras situation our character are facing their own mortality, we are going to have to considder how this is going to affect them.

Topic: Dawn of Defiance: The Traitor's Gambit
Subject: His pistol

His pistol had failed him, or he had failed the pistol... nothing was clear, the pain surged through his body. It was almost unbearable, he could only muster the effort to take aim a second time. He knew if he or Ara didn't hit then they were both gonners. He leveled the pistol and put all his effort into aiming and pulling the trigger.

(OOC: Same as last round rearly, he's aiming and pulling the trigger. I'm willing to use all, via two, of my force points to make this shot hit, if it hits then I'd like to use one of the remaining force points to turn the hit into a critical hit, I think you can do that but I'm not sure.)

Topic: Dawn of Defiance: The Traitor's Gambit
Subject: Shoot him in the eye

His blaster bolt impacted on it's target nocking him flat, out for the count for a good long time, but not before the stormie had sho Ara, it didn't look like the armour did much to stop that perticular shot but she seemed not too badly hurt but it did throw her aim off.

Karra had run round the corner to fin the stormie already where she entended to go, to her own shock and Ithiria dissapeared towards the rest of the troopers as he made his way to shelter behind the shuttle. Ara came to join him as well.

The sled ran over the downed troopers body with a crunch and killed the unfortunate guy. ??? Did I just call him unfortunate?

"I've got this one."

He said taking careful aim at the trooper on the sled, he pulled the trigger and willed it to find it's mark, to find a good mark.

(OOC: Sacrificing my move action for an extra swift action, then using them both to aim at the ST on the sled. I'm also using 'Luck Shot'.

Sorry for any bad spelling)
