Subject: And this is when things start to go wrong

As you enter the hanger bay it's obvious the ships are here to be dismantled, the large bay has three ships in it, two A-9 Vigilance Interceptors and the one you're after, the KTI Patrol Ship. The two A-9's are party dismantled and their parts separated into piles in two of the three maintenance alcoves where the labor droids stand shut down ready to resume work, next to them the access to the smelters, where the two guards went.

Overhead walkways work round the bays edge to two control panels on either side of the bay door, you have no idea what they might control but their is a computer access port next to the bay door that the droid could use.

As you take further steps into the hanger bay the labor droids suddenly activate, they are modelled on the ASP series but they all seem to have the same modification, some how they seem smarter, their reactions are quicker as they form a line 2 deep and 3 long, two ranks of 3, they draw blaster weapons from a hidden chest compartment and the first rank fires.

Septimus charges into the inn and the crowd swiftly parts and Sep continues forward towards the guy offering 2000 gold just for information about him.
"AH! The man of the hour!"
He exclaims as he, in the same move, dodges Sept's blade and (if Septimus has his pistol in his belt) takes that and points it at him. (If Sep isn't carrying his pistol then he draws a dagger from a wrist sheath, grabs Sep's collar and puts the dagger to his throat.)

He then exclaims out loud.
"There is a fine line between brave and stupid my friend, I believe I'll be taking him back with me then Lucious."
He seems to be talking to the guy dressed in the same uniform as Shaben. He then whispers to Septimus.
"My name is Mr. C, its all you need to know, I'm a friend of Shabens. Come with me and get your 'friend' to follow."

He then marches Septimus with the (knife or pistol) to the side of his neck but when he's out he leads Septimus through the streets at a fast pace up to a humble house in the government district.

Kate, with her arm still in the port, has managed to access security scanners of the building, the two guards have broken into a run and are not even in the adjacent room, they are by far the closest beings on sensors and from the speed of their movement would only notice something in the hanger if you accidentally let off an explosive.

The hanger is in fact deserted, nothing is moving and the only noise is that of multiple generators humming away, their sound oddly magnified by the absence of conversation. In fact the only things you can see are some common walking labor droids recharging.

Subject: The Humane and her backfiring plan

Kate trundles over to the port, an odd shaped one used only by KTI, thankfully Kate is a KTI droid. She expertly maneuvers around the public files on the system and finds a suitable one, it causes a mass evacuation of the complex/building of all sentients. It's called emergency protocol 21.

A loud siren sounds right round the building causing the start of the evacuation, it should take around 5 minutes Kate estimates, unfortunately she has no way to communicate this to her team mates. The two guards give up their conversation as they declare that they should help with the evacuation and leave the control room across the hanger through the automatic door next to the part bays, they are both human as thought, the first is built very robustly and has shaved his hair off, the second is shorter but slimmer and has a blaster pistol in his belt and is twirling a hold-out blaster in his index finger.

I'm sorry suicidolt, I'm just so used to DMing male characters that I almost automatically put he or him. When M first joined I thought she was male.

And you are right, your weren't to know that it was so vital so maybe I should have made it more obvious in the recruitment and if moral qualms are a problem between your characters you have enough information to close down KTI.

You are also right about credits, Sullust is cosmologically in the outer rim and most of the campaign will be set in the outer rim but it uses credits for trade purposes, it's simply better for business to have a e-transfer of a currency with no 'real world' value then to use rare ore that could be stolen and sold or be worth less or more in other places.

A soldier with his blaster set to lethal with a conscience?
You don't have to steel the ship but if you don't you can't continue with the adventure as I'm not DMing a character dieing in a gutter, put yourself in his shoes, your character needs some form of income and it needs to be illegal because of what KTIndustries did to you.

Some other info for your character is what happens to an employee if this sort of thing happens to them, their just demoted to a lower job, one they can't make a mistake on.

There is a computer port in the wall next to the door BTW and yes, your computer interface arm is compatible as you were both made by the same company.

You do not have to kill the guards OK, I'm not just saying that. Stun them and take the ship, killing people isn't the only way to do things, most of your enemies from now on will be droids.

You are steeling the ship because your records were wiped, when you were fired KTIndustries wiped your characters e-traces, as far as the system is concerned you don't exist, and as you don't exist you can't get a job to buy food.

Motivations for taking the ship are thus:
Pay bay at KTIndustries for firing you.
So you may obtain some standard of income.
So your characters may explore the galaxy.

As you open the door a crack you get a good look at the hanger, on its three landing grids stand three ships, two of them partially disassembled, the furthest ship however, the one your after, hasn't been touched. Behind it six droids stand shut down in parts bays and the entrance to the factory next to them, overhead a walkway runs right around the edge leading to the sides of the hanger door.

There is a problem, the blast doors are closed and the controls are most likely in the security booth, which is out of sight from your position, it is also where the voices are coming from, the seem to be human as there both talking in basic about their wives and children.

As Evani ran through the streets back to the inn she got some odd looks and was almost approached by two members of what might have been the guard but they seemed to see it below them.

Upon entering the inn she saw two men standing on small raised platforms, one was dressed like Shaben and was describing Septimus, he was offering gold for his return to him! A few of the 20 odd people were muttering about 1000 gold, the rest were talking about the proposition the other man was making, 2000 gold just for information about Septimus' location. The second man on the podium was dressed in a fine silk, the wouldn't look out of place in a nobleman's ball, or dance.

I know he's starting a new job, I just didn't know where you stand on the starting thing. It's good you know where you stand Merideth.

The thing with this campaign is there is room for you guys to travel the galaxy and back, it might actually be a small advantage to me if when he joined you were a few light-years away.

As R2K8 expertly cannibalises the droid Quilia shushes the group as she listens at the steel door, all that she can here is the drown of a generator, or several generators, and some human voices talking loudly, they seem to be playing a card game of some sorts.

With the vocabulator and translator installed R2K8 is closer to being able to talk to her crew, the one problem is she can now only bleep and simulate Sullustese, at least she'll be able to talk to her captives if they ever catch the group.

The group better act quickly if they are to get the ship and fly to Rife's hanger, he owned a hanger and it hasn't been claimed by anyone yet. Maybe they'll get some work once they get out of this.

Whistle beep bloop... Kate begins, high pitch beep, mid pitch, descending tone whistle...?

No sooner after the 'words' are 'spoken' a metallic electronic voice is emitted from the box with the battle droid arm hanging out.
"While we're here... would we like missiles to go with our ship, to go?"
It says in toneless Sullustese.

Further investigation of the box and arm reveals that is has been broken off the droid inside the box, it's arms and legs have been removed but somehow it still has power and is able to translate. Why would a battle droid need to be able to translate?

Disapproving whistle tone? Beep bleep beep?

The question already answered is repeated in Sullustese by the broken droid, the last words tapering out as what 'life' remains in the droid drains away, literally. It seems to have a leak as some oil is pooling in the bottom of the box.

At the same time in a different part of the planet in the city of Piringiisi a small group of smugglers and would-be shipjackers have smuggled themselves into the cargo/munitions storage room of a demolition hanger belonging to KTIndustries. The room, about 15 by 10 meters, contains mainly concussion missiles, about 17, as well as boxes of comlinks, powerpacks, energy cells, datacards and oddly enough the arm off a battle droid.
Through the doors out of the room lies their prise, a prototype fighter, as well as one, possibly two guards, no problem.

Ronan Bruel's Introduction

Sitting in your cabin in the old Firespray, one of the few remaining Firesprays left in the galaxy, your captain, an old Duro who revels in order and organisation, comes over the comm. His rough voice made worse by the old technology.
"This is your captain speaking. We are now approaching the city of Fulluusub. Destination for Jedi Ronan Bruel."
He then went on to repeat his message, typical military fashion, he had piloted this ship during the Yuuzhan Vong war.

A few minutes later you felt the ship touchdown, could couldn't see it because all the portholes and windows are blacked out. It had been done because this ship had been used to transport Vong captives and it was thought unwise to let the Vongs see military installments on their way to which ever prison it was that they were going to.

You descend the gangplank under the shine of lights off polished metal, it's not a soft glow, it's hard and cold but welcoming, this planet had survived the war well, and now it stood an example of what money can buy. At the foot of the gangplank a Sullustanian woman waits for you. She introduces herself as head of private investments and contracts for KTIndustries, her name is Beli.

The ship turns and leaves the private hanger in the crust of the planet as you follow Beli through a magnetised blast door, down 15 meters of corridor with numerous holocorders, through a security door and into your room. It's a luxury suite with programed sunstrips lighting it, they are currently set to Corusant daylight hours and so it's about dusk.

A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away…

STAR WARS
The Outer Rim

The Yuuzhan Vong war has ended and just earlier this year Coruscant was liberated from the Yuuzhan Vong and is once more the galactic capital. A peace accord has been forged between the Galactic Alliance and the Yuuzhan Vong after five years of battle but hundreds of worlds need to be re-built and the resulting death toll from the invasion has been set at 365 trillion sentients.

With mechanical technology seen as blasphemy by the Yuuzhan Vongs many industrial areas were ‘purged’ of impurities through blast and shell by the Yuuzhan Vongs as a religious act, such destruction left the galaxy crippled and caused rise to many new companies such as Kan Thofh Industries, which due to it’s location on Sullust and the demand, produces cheap Space Transports and Starfighters. Recently there designs for a new one and two sentient Jedi Starfighter won the approval of the New Jedi Order and they have produced three prototypes for testing.

The recent activity in the system threatens to put production in danger and KTIndustries are getting increasingly worried, as is Luke Skywalker.

The following information only applies to R2K8, Quiuia Mistika, Merideth's character and Twisty's character.

A month ago you were all fired or put out of work by KTI. You received minimal compensation, barely enough to live off for two weeks, and KTI kindly revoked your work licence, you have no idea how they did this but it wasn't legal and probably means they have control over the corporate government to some extent. To forget your troubles you made for a nightclub near your home for a drink and some socalising. Upon arriving you were surprised to find each other and each other in strangely similar circumstances, over a few drinks you got talking about various things and were approached by a near-human who introduced himself as Rife. He was a sort of smugglar and had overheard you talking and offered you a job, he needed a crew for his ship so that he could smuggle items with less risk to himself. The pay was poor and the risk high but you accepted, whatever your opinion on smuggling this was a life line and you needed it.

Over the next month you flex between star systems with many successful transactions until Rife's operation was discovered, you managed to escape persecution but were back to square one. Just yesterday you got wind of a KTI space transport being sent for the scrap pile, it had a perfect run and was fully operational, the design was just scrapped before production. Deciding this was a too good opportunity to stick it to KTI and that you could continue your smuggling job, it had worked before and there was no chance to get legal work now, you set off to steal it. For that reason you now find yourself adjacent to a KTI hanger.

Kavtan didn't recognize any of the food, it all looked 'nice' but none of it familler so he pick some pieces of things that look like they might be in the same family as the foods he was used to. He liked what he picked and so he experimented with other foods, he must have looked greedy but in truth he was inquisitive.

Namor started talking about the dispute, in his mind they were both too profit oriented and stupid. They had put their trust in a document that wasn't properly drawn up, surly they must have known the river would move as time passed, it was very basic geography.
"It was stupid for The Guild and The Union to put their trust in that document, they must of known that a river can move even then, it's basic geography. They should have known the deal would benefit one of them or cause conflict."
He stopped just then and put his fork down and wiped his mouth.
"Is it possible there was foul play from the start, from when the document was drawn up. Was it possible to predict how a river might move then?"
