Topic: Star Wars 'Imperial March' recruitment
Subject: STAR WARS!

Anybody who knows me knows that I jump on any SW game going.

This one will be particularly interesting though as playing an Imp would be a new experaince and one that I could easily enjoy. I do find your use of the word 'alien' to be strange though, considering that every race in SW, except the humans, is an alien race. Do you mean alien as in alien to the SW galaxy, alien as in an undiscovered race in the SW galaxy, or alien as in the [insert race persecuted by the Empire] are rising up?

Also, are you breaking from the SW cannon or will this be a cannon game?

(I am assuming by your mention of talents that you will be using the SW Saga rule set)

Hi all. Looking forward to my guy joining the crew, or at least what may or may not be left of it after this one.

I know what my guy would do. Option 1 please. Caves and mines give him the willies.

Bwahaha

Ody did specify that it was a fragmentation grenade.

"He knew the feel of the Fragmentation Grenade."

And as the core rulebook specifies that frag grenades are mental (unless Ash specifically purchased plastic ones) you are looking at the everybody filled with little holes and bits of metal scenario... that is if the grenade is let off and everybody isn't crushed by falling debris.

Have fun

If I recall fireflys have two double cabbins and three single for the crew with and additional four at the aft of the ship for passengers. Space for eight without needing to double up.

Topic: worst DM/GM blunders
Subject: Money Mistake

In the early stages of a the tabletop serenity game I played at uni the GM set the odds 10 to 1 for a boxing match the groups unarmed combatant was put in... the player won. The group won big bucks.

The GM did not learn however, future odds were all between 2 to 1 and 10 to one and he didn't put a cap on the maximum amount of credits the group could bet. Not quite sure why. The upshot was the group had hundreds of thousands of credits and we just purchased the coolest, fastest, toughest ship we could, put loads of big guns on it, and then flew around blowing up alliance stuff.

PS: It wasn't a serious serious game after the first session, it started off serious but instead of the GM correcting for his mistake he threw the campaign out the window... another big mistake if you ask me.

I've thrown my character concept into the proverbial hat along with the character sheet I've come up with. Still working on my pilots background.

Thank you very much for the gesture but do not withdraw because you think I am more deserving of a shot at this game then you because I'm not.

Topic: Lack of games rant
Subject: in an attempt

In an attempt to get away from Trek how about a Serenity/Firefly game?

It combines space with horrific monsterous oponents. Maybe a game set during the events of the fire-fly TV show when the protagonists are just making a living like Mel, or maybe a game based after the events of the Serenity movie when the protagonists go to Miranda to find out more about the reavers.

Just thought I'd say it. Cos I'd be up for a Serenity/Firefly game and I think that perticular take on the two alternate-earth and western generas is interesting.

(Reavers = sin evil people, humans twisted into bloody rage who will kill you, rape you, and eat your flesh... in that order if you are lucky)

I agree. The lack of gaming sucks.

Note to anybody thinking of running any game: I'm up for just about anything provided I can get a handle on it (unfortunaly I generaly don't like science-fantasy, if something is going to be sciency or sudo-sciency the sciency stuff needs to be substantual enough and not just "it works because it does")

Topic: Join the Revolution
Subject: An impatient cat

Peiring through the shrub at the treeline Nararr watched as the humans struggled with their beasts and a cart, the spiritless animals had pulled the cart close to the mountain ledge to eat some plant, as a pair of guards looked on un-aiding. Mildly amused the cat man was ready to comment that the group should return to the forest trail when Ahvir piped up with a plan to kill the humans and guards, for an unknown end, using their “guileses” and “charmses” followed by a suggestion they join the humans to travel to Maple Ridge, despite not knowing if the humans were traveling their and that this trail didn’t lead to their destination. Nararr was about to point out these problems when Garron suggested a slightly saner plan to watch and see what happened, but this plan wasn’t to Nararr’s liking either.

”It’s not our parth. Leave the humans to their beasts. We’ve wasted too long here.”

Of cause, like he always had and likely will, Nararr didn’t present all this arguments, but to him If the group had a mind they’d follow him as he began sneaking away. They’d been tasked to take Maple Ridge, a town two days north and they couldn’t afford delays or diversions, plus they had been told not to kill any innocents, which Nararr was fine with, but meant not preying on merchants less than a day’s walk from the training camp.

((OOC: Retrospectively did the group decide to travel to Belja’s Nook to get supplies or to go straight to Maple Ridge?))

Who says we have to attack?

Anyway, I'm working on a post and I think we should RP this out.

I'll put up more details in my proper post but Nararr is going to say to the group something along the lines of "You've seen a pair of mules now. If you're happy can we move on?"

His basic standpoint is that the group shouldn't have gone to investigate, that the cart falling off the cliff isn't their problem, and that it isn't their job to kill off merchants.

Not only that but I quite like this character and want to see where this goes for him.

Topic: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Subject: A question.

My laptop meets all the system specs for Skyrim except for the graphics card. Instead of having a dedicated graphics card my laptop uses an Intel intergrated chipset. The problem I had/may still have is that the chipset only had a maximum RAM of 300 and something MB... through the instalation of new drivers and general system maintenence stuff I've managed to boost the max RAM to 1.7GB (who knew new drivers and maintenence would make such a difference?) but it's dedicated RAM is still only 64MB.

Skyrim required 512MB RAM as minimum specs and 1GB of RAM as the recomended specs for the graphics card.

My question is this: Should I be able to play Skyrim on my current system giving the improvements to the graphics chipset RAM and that my laptop meets all other specs?

PS: General RAM is 4GB (recomended for Skyrim is 4 and minimum is 2), I guess that is important as that's probably where the graphics chipset will steal the extra RAM it needs, and I have Pixel Shader version 4 and Vertex Shader version 4 which are apparently the other graphics requirements.
