I'll try to get a short post up before you update, if not I'll just backpost a bit as I don't think anything I write will be massivly consequential.

I honestly don't want to wade into this, but I'd have to suport that forcably seperating the two was the only feasable option apparent to me. I did have an idea that involved John's supply of tranqs but mixing tranqs and stimulents almost never ends in happy results so John's only two options were to leave the situation to others or to pull them apart himself. I'm happy to take blame for forcing Ody and Tann into a situation where their character's had to pull them apart, but I don't want them to get slated for their character's actions when no practical alternitives have been presented.

Cheers for the correction Ody, I've gone back and edited my post to reflect that. I could have sworn that it was the starboard shuttle that was damaged.

AL: Don't worry, I don't take offense that easily. I just thought I better stand up for John although it was possibly a bit cowardly of him not attempting something.

In regards to John's relationship with the rest of the crew, I am aware John still has to prove himself and his captain's habits are proving hard for him to drop. That said he very much considers that he was hired as a technician and so that's his job, not making friends with the rest of the crew (despite the fact that it make things easier).

EDIT: Job idea - he's good at maths. He'll do every bodies tax returns and work out some complex investment scheme so the crew can make millions off the stock markets

"ran out" and "Weasel"

Both John and I resent these comments. Yes, John did leave the couple at it and call on Ash to sort it out but I don't see how that one act can be enough to dub him a weasel.

Yer, the hand off is a bit short sighted for John. But he's got a history with not exactly looking far ahead, let's just hope he comes back from the atmospheric processor with some very good news.

Shoot, my right shift key has now broken on top of my up key...

Anyhow, although the number of shuttles isn't specified in the charter info thread I had always assumed we had two because firefly's normally have two (one above each wing) so if this could be clarified that would be great.

Subject: Things seem to already be prity hot in the shuttle

After assessing the damage to the Roc and brief crew meeting it was decided that Wolf and himself would go to the atmospheric processor, the captain wasn't in favor of all three of John, Wolf, and Ash going off at once in case a situation were to develop at the ship. The additional passengers they'd picked up were all outside and had Willow and Sifu seeing to them leaving Wolf and Ash to prepare as he warmed up the shuttle. Seeing as it was the port engine pod that was out of action John decided to use that shuttle, it would need moving for later and so killing two birds with one stone made sense.

Sliding the shuttle door open John was greeted with a sight he didn't wish to see. Two passengers, the girl who'd come to him earlier in the hold and an older guy he'd seen talking to Willow, were writhing on the floor of the shuttle. Stunned, it took John a couple of seconds to pull himself together. Averting his eyes slightly from the frantic bodies he banged on the side of the shuttle and loudly cleared his throat. The couple looked up but paid him not attention before getting back to it. This wasn't normal, and considering that John noticed the girl... Amber?... was gripping the man's neck tightly and, causing a bleed, a needle-like thing attached to one of Amber's fingers was stuck into the man's neck. Looking to the floor, and running his hand through his hair with frustration, John spoke "This isn't happening" before deciding he didn't want anything to do with it and closing the door on the copulating couple.

John walked across the gangway above the hold and spoke into his comm with a sigh "Wolf, we're taking the other shuttle. Ash, get to the port shuttle with Willow or the Captain. There's a situation you guys need to deal with." At the moment, for as long as the Roc was grounded, whatever antics the unwanted passengers got up to were not his concerns. Him and Wolf were to get the ship flying again, and honestly he didn't have a clue how to handle the situation he'd just palmed off to Ash. The thought that he'd made it somebody elses problem twinged with guilt, but it didn't stop him running the ignition sequence for the port-side shuttle.

EDIT: Ash, not ask.
EDIT 2: Port, not starboard. Cheers Ody!

"Getting to know each other in a biblical fashion is a another way of saying having sex."

I get that, that message was clear enough. I just don't get why "in a biblical fashion" means having sex. Anyway, that's the PG-13 rating gone.

The Porno "solution" isn't one that is highly likely either...

Good to know that Willow isn't prone to carrying a comm. I will channel my inner John.

Right, I've no experience of this situation IRL. I've never walked in on a couple doing it like they do on the discovery channel let alone a couple a couple who wouldn't, metaphorically, die of embarrassment should they be found in a situation like this.

What do you guys suggest?

I think it's not out of character for John to shout something along the lines of "Get the hell out of my shuttle" or for him to call to Willow on the comms to tell her that she "might be missing a couple of passengers." and then to shout at the couple.

EDIT: Question - Why "in a biblical fashion"?

Subject: Question Time

Time for me to chip in with a question.

Just how serious is the radiation leak? Obviously we are shutting down the reactor but it'll stay hot (literally) for a good few hours as the whole thing cools down and the decay heat dissipates.

John'll calculate the reactors energy output and the possible doses of radiation people in the ship will receive if he get a chance/when he has the time.

Subject: Land Ho!

Willow looked up at John following his revelation, the look lasted for some time and John found it awkward and hard to gage. He was somewhat sure she wasn’t frowning at him though. Finally she spoke, before continuing with the work herself. “If that’s the case, I’ll manage, thank you. Our friend here walks around with a truly bare head, he deserves as finer scar as possible. We can get you practicing on oranges later.” John didn’t argue with her.

Later, operation complete, John arrived in the cockpit for what would be one of the more interesting landings of his life so far. He voiced his thoughts that there should be sand fields around the terraformers and that once they hit atmo he should be able to activate one of the terraformer’s locator beacons. The decent through the atmosphere seemed like one drawn out moment of unrivalled tension, and it had taken him longer then he’d have liked to locate a terraformer, but with the first bump on the sand they knew it was almost over and that Tess had done it. A second bounce, harder than the first, jilted John violently and threw him forward in his chair. The third, thanks to Tess, was the last and landed the ship.

After a sigh and leaning back in his chair to recover for a second John unbuckled and started system checks. Power was on, so that was good. Apart from the obvious of a dead drive pod systems registered that the primary buffer pannel was unresponsive and that core containment had been breached. The latter problem was the biggest, they could fly with a both job to the buffer pannel, but if they’d cook in a radioactive oven if they tried. John reported the problem immediately, first to the cockpit and then by radioing down to the engine room where, if it wasn’t apparent already, they’d need to know. He then set about downloading the cortex’s saved data on LV-426 to his databook and began shutting down systems.

After the captain had finished speaking John congratulated Tess, she’d flown like an ace and landed, of sorts, something that in all rights shouldn’t have been able to land. John then made his own suggestions to the cockpit:
“We should do a walk around of the ship when it gets light, see what external damage we’ve sustained. There should be some caves somewhere around for us to shelter in, there won’t be any native life but that’s not to say there could be squatters, pirates, or reavers about though. Wolf and myself should take the mule to the nearest atmospheric processor just as soon as we know what we need, we should be able to salvage what we need from that. Whatever we do won’t be pretty, but we only need to make Sihnon anyhow.”
It was in John’s mind to grab his belongings from his cabin and to then meet Wolf to do the walk around.

Subject: Questions

I was going to PM you these questions, but I think they are questions we'd all like to know the answers to.

1) From our current locations, where ever we are in the ship, what immediate damage can we notice has been sustained?
(From John's position he'll be primarily interested in if the ship's systems still have power and after that which ones still work.)

2) From our character's knowledge of what damage has been done (see question 1) what can we assume, given both worst and best case scenarios, still works or needs fixing?

3) How are our passengers? Any more injuries and how panicked are they? Should Willow be worried about having to do more operations today?

4) How's the cargo? I assume it hasn't exploded or we'd know about it but it would be good to know if it survived or not.

5) From what can be seen from the cockpit, from what data John could get to before the decent, and from any installments that are still working on the ship what can we tell about the gorram moon we've just crashed into?

6) Is the moon's atmosphere breathable? Are there any toxins or contaminates or unusual radiation that we should look out for?

7) Any sign of human, or reaver, life on the moon?

How far away is the atmos processor? And how much does John/anybody know/can access about it?
(I expect John will be checking his Datalibrary to find anything useful about them when he's got the time to read)

9) How's the weather?

EDIT: Question 9 added.

Despite the tone in her voice John knew Willow must be tired, it had been a long and tricky operation and although he'd assisted Willow had done everything, but John wasn't a surgeon. He looked up at Willow as she encouraged him to secure the scalp back in place.

"Not the best time to admit this, but I'm not a medic. I never graduated first year of med-school."

John's face was honest and sincere, one of the secrets he'd not let on to and should have. Maybe he should come clean about The Hun, after all Willow already knew he was taking tranqs each night.

"You'll need to guide me through it if I'm going to do it."

Not good to lose you before things have got going with your character.

My post is up and I'm ready to go, bit short and a bit of just covering what's happened so far in peoples posts and update. For information as to what John will be upto in the medical bay, he'll be offering any assistance he's capable of but will be avoiding talking as he knows Willow needs to concentrate.

John was amongst the mob towards the cargo bay doors when the ship violently lurched to the side. The crowd John was amongst staggered and fell, but John was amongst the few to kept his balance but watched helplessly as Sifu tumbled over the stairway bannister and hit the deck below. Pushing through the crowd as they regained their feet Willow was already up and commanding nearby passengers by the time John had got near, seeing she’d responded to the situation John instead made for the medical bay. The normally pristine room was a slight mess, cupboard doors had swung open with their contents spewed over the counters, draws were likewise hanging open but it didn’t seem that anything had spilled out of them, firing up the medical computer and clearing the operating table John then hastily scooped up the shrink rapped equipment. Dumping the excess into cupboards John just managed to sort out anaesthetics and surgical tools before Will entered followed by Sifu carried by some passengers. Helping as best he could John stood by Willow up until the point Wyatt called him into the bridge, reluctantly John did what he was told and rushed up the common area stairs. In the cockpit turned out all Wyatt wanted was a kinda crew meeting, and some data on the planetoid they were planning to land on, the moon LV-426. Quickly operating the new sensor suit he was able to find out and report that the moon was in the second stage of terraforming, with the possibility of it still having atmospheric processors they could home in on, use for shelter, and strip for the tech they needed. The captain then advised they go armed once they land before enquiring down to the medical bay as to Sifu, John then got the nod to return to assist Willow and he rushed off without a second word, despite thinking it would be good to know the state of the ship. He knew things must be bad if they’d been shock up that bad, but figured they couldn’t be terrible yet if they still had power and were moving.
