The blast door opens with a simple press on the door's command panel, and reveals a battle in the T-shaped hallway between the Republic forces and the Mandalorians.

"The door is open!" yells the Republic officer, "everybody defend the civilians!"
At that moment the Republic troops reformed their position to block the blasts from the Mandalorians, and the escapees and pilots started moving into the hangar.

Milix Cardass came rushing into the hangar along with the others. "Thank Force you alive, Master Jedi," he said with notable joy in his voice. "We hurry to Master Rial Moti now."

"Now, go!" the officer yells back at you. "We'll hold them off as long as we can."

I'm waiting anxiously to see that picture

As it turns out, the mapping tool is really taxing on my computer. I guess it is not built for as complex maps as the ones I make, or it might be a sign that my computer is getting old (which it is, btw).

Anyway, here's a little treat for the Blue team: A gridless version of your starting point in the game. All the details will be in the opening post, so I won't give anything away just yet. Just a little something to give you an idea of what's to come. Enjoy

EDIT: The picture has been removed from this post. You can still see it by checking the first post of the gaming thread.

You may have noticed I haven't started the game yet. That's because I decided to do some additional work on the map. I'm hopefully going to finish up soon and get the game started late tonight.

So, stay tuned.

Again, sorry for the delay.

Real life more important than fantasy? Nonsense! Real life is as much fantasy as we choose to make it

Of course, people tend to think we're insane if we do.

Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you around on Monday.

I possibly won't have time to start the game tomorrow as planned. Apparently, I have way too much to do. I have to get my car checked, the frontlight rechecked because someone had me paid them to fix it but they didn't, get some things fixed in the bank, and finish an essay. I really need to get that essay done because I am supposed to turn it in tomorrow and I'm not getting anything done right now.

The game will start on Saturday at the latest. I am sorry for the delay.

EDIT: Apparently, I'm getting much more done with the essay than I originally thought. I might get the game up tomorrow as planned after all.

Topic: Dungeon of the Unhallow Q&A
Subject: Teams!

I've come to the conclusion that I will be splitting this enourmous party in two. Why? For few reasons:

The Dungeon only has so and so big hallways. Using the mapping tool, the widest hallways only have room for two characters to walk side by side (they are 10 feet wide). With 8 characters, it is likely that only 2 can engage into melee while the other need to stay out in ranged combat. That is somewhat limiting for the characters I think.

With 8 characters, you'll be splitting the XP between 8 people. With the party split in two, you'll be dividing the XP between only 4 for each group. That means you'll be advancing considerably faster, but also that you'll be faced with more challanging threats.

The party will be split into 2 parties: Blue Party, and Red Party. I will include this in the first post for easier referrence. The party is split as follows (players marked by an * do not have an accepted character yet):

BLUE
Celediel
Mefistopholes
gboy
*Grugg

RED
*Savrit
Brianna
*Dragon Mistress
*Fletch

If you have any preference in who's on what team, just say so. There's no problem in switching teams until the game starts tomorrow. Or, if you prefer not having the party split up like that, I'd like to know so that I might do something about it.

I prefer a detailed and finished character to a half-done heap of numbers and calculations. I was thinking of adding a map of your starting area to the opening post so that you would know how and where you are standing when you begin, but to do that I would need portraits of every character in the group so that I can add your locations.

I was also thinking of splitting the group, since I believe 8 characters in a party is too much for this dungeon (the hallways as I have made them only allow 2 characters to walk side by side). Not really sure how I will do that though, or how I should divide the party.

If you can send me a portrait before Friday, I won't feel insulted or anywhere close to mad about you not sending in your character until Monday. That way, I could add your character to the map and give you a starting location. Deal?

P.S.: As a curious question, what race are you aiming at? The Binder class is pretty cool, and useful in the right situations (my girlfriend played one once) so I think it is very cool idea

Alright, to make things simple and pretty clear, the encounter is over. What happens next is not done in combat rounds. If the Mandalorians get into the hangar area, you'll need to actively engage them to start a new combat scenario.

I've given you all XP for activity and the encounted. The encounted gave each of you 550 XP in addition to that which you got from just posting. Yay.

I could give you an estimate. Move action to get to the first Mandalorian (the one Kate cut), Move action to haul him onto your speeder, Move action to get to the other Mandalorian and the droid by the ship, two Move actions to haul them both onto your speeder, finally a Move action to get the speeder into the ship (cargo bay).

All in all, it would take you at least three rounds (two Move actions per round), and that's me being generous and not very accurate (I could ask for a Swift action to get out of the speeder and another to get back in). During that time, the Republic troops might get killed and the Mandalorians start rushing into the hangar along with their droid friends.

But once on the ship, you'll have plenty of time to examine the loot.

If you open the door now, you won't have time to loot the stuff before the hangar will be swarming with Mandalorians and droids. If you loot first and open the door second, the Republicans on the other side will suffer greatly while you do. Decissions, decissions.

The droids are pretty banged up and the Mandalorians as well, but you can't tell if there's anything salvagible with a quick glance. You might want to drag the corpses and droids into the ship to have a good look at what you have, but that too takes time.

Subject: Update

I have updated. Here's a quick recap:

Kate scored a critical hit and destroyed the battledroid.

Arruna scored a critical hit and dealt an impressive 43 points of damage. Did not kill the Mandalorian though.

Awvoor did not score a critical hit but dealt 38 points of damage, enough to kill the Mandalorian.

For those interested, the Mandalorian is speaking Mando'a. If any of your characters know the language, I'll add a translation soon.

As for the Darth Kitty's loot, I'll add a list of items soon as someone has made a more detailed search. For now, you only notice the lightsaber in his hand. It's a bit bigger that usual, mostly so that he could hold it with both hands. It is also crude and doubles as a dagger when not switched on. You don't see any pouch (not with a quick look anyway), and his belt is just a leather strap and of no exceptional value.

Maps will be up soon.

EDIT: And I meant very soon. The maps are up.

Subject: Round 5

"Master Jedi?" the answer says on the other side of Benjamin's comlink, distinctively Milix' voice. "I... I not certain. I give leader comlink." There is a short silence that is interrupted by several blaster sounds, and then finally another voice speaks. "We're trying to hold them off as best as we can," it says, "but we can't keep this up much longer. We need that door open to get the civillians and pilots out of here. Once the door is open we can give you few seconds before they punch through. We are all ready to do what must be done. Just get that door open!"

At that moment, Kate steps few steps to the side and aims at the battle droid that has been giving Arruna some trouble. With her blaster she fires upone the droid with a direct hit to its head which is blast off the droid's structure. The only thing holding the droid up now is Arruna's speeder.

Speaking of which, as the droid is dismantled by the blast, Arruna moves her speeder to get a clear shot at the flying Mandalorian. The blast hits the Mandalorian directly in the torso and knocks him down from the air. Despite the horrible wound, the Mandalorian is still moving.

The Mandalorian rises up, raises his blaster, mutters "Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la," and fires his blaster at Kate. The wounds, however, take their toll on his body and the blast hits the ground several feet from where Kate is standing.

Awvoor raises that blasters on his ship. The blast hits the Mandalorian in the back and sends him crashing onto the floor, from which spot he does not move.

Maps:
Arruna + Benjamin + Kate
Awvoor + Wrrlwarr

It's in the Monster Manual under 'Lycanthrope'. I believe weretigers are in there, although I would have to get up from my chair and get my book to make sure. But I'm too lazy to do that

It looks like there are going to be some lycanthropes in this group if you make your weretiger; we have a werewolf already. But don't let that discourage you from making your weretiger, I just thought you should know.

I must admit I really liked that Pathfinder book. At a glance (I didn't look through it in any detail) it looks really good and well thought out. My favorite part, though, is the Pathfinder art. Love it.

Some of the stuff in that book are also really helpful, like the NPC generator and Monster maker, although it assumes you're using the reworked rules presented in the book.

I somehow get the feeling this is not supposed to be here.

As for answering the question, I don't really know. I would guess the template would explain all this, but I haven't looked over the lycanthropes in a while. That's assuming you're talking 3.5 D&D because I know absolutely nothing about how it is done in the other systems.

Mefistopholes: The game only starts on Friday but you have a week to get a post in before I actually update the game. You don't actually have to get a post in this weekend

I believe I told you when the encounter started that Precise Shot would not apply because the speeder's weapon system is so different. Besides, I just noticed that you do not have a proficiency with heavy weapons (which includes vehicular blasters) so technically you should also be taking a -5 penalty (but I'm a nice guy so I'm not applying the penalty for this encounter), but I would definitly rule that without that proficiency you can't apply questionable feats to the attack such as Precise Shot.

Since so much is coming into light now, I will allow you to make changes to your characters after the encounter as needed.

Back to the droid thing: If you intend to move away from the droid anyway at a safe speed, I would rule that you could move the speeder away from the droid, turn around, and blast the damn thing with the vehicle's weapons. But if you are certain, then Arruna can do what you want.
Of course, I would prefer that you would actually say so in character so that you could get the activity XP, seeing as you have had enough time to do it (posting IC does not require an extencive post detailing every small action, it can be a one-liner). Just something to think about.

Topic: Dungeon of the Unhallow Q&A
Subject: I tire of waiting

I think I will start the game next Friday. If I wait too long everyone will just lose interest. Don't worry about not having your characters ready though, your spot as a player will remain reserved for you and you can join in later at an appropriate time. Do not rush your characters too much.

So, game starts on Friday, if you do not have a character by then you can bring him in later. Your reservation won't be cancelled unless you specifically say so.

For those of you who have ready characters: If you want to make any changes, your requests for them must be in before we start. Any requests for changes after the official game start will be ignored. Ye be warned.

EDIT: By the way, I still need portraits for two characters that are ready for the game. I have the portrait for Mephistopholes' character, but not the other two. If you have sent me via e-mail or PM, try again since I haven't seen it. If you haven't sent it to me before Friday, I'll pick something temporary for you.
