There is one more thing that I forgot to mention until now. Because I forgot how wide I said the hangar was, the map shows it as only 100 ft. Instead of fixing it as I should, I'm going to take the lazy rout out of this and say the hangar is only 100 ft. accross and not 120 ft. The enemy is also a little bit inside, which means they are only about 70 ft. away.

I know, it makes the whole scene a tad bit smaller, doesn't it?

I will be making more maps for use in encounters as well as when you ask for one nicely. I enjoyed making this one.

Yes, a Togorian is Large with 10 ft. reach. That would be a problem if he remains out of your reach, but won't be such a problem once you're in 5 ft. range.

The update will be up a little later. Doing some homework for a change.

If you don't like your tokens, you can send me a picture/photo that you prefer and I can replace them. I only used these as a quick fix to represent you on the map.

Obviously, I won't be able to fit a big picture on a token without it all looking small and crappy, so keep in mind that I only need a face.

P.S.: Don't forget that tomorrow is update-day.

Subject: ships

Except for Awvoor's ship, there are no ships in the hangar that you do not see on the map I posted. Those would be private shuttles (I would have to look them up for name and stats) and a starfighter.

Under the circumstances, I would say that you could not steal one of those ships. First you would need to get into the shuttles. I'm not really sure how this would work. If they are locked as I assume they are, you would need a key (either card or code) or somehow hack yourself in. That takes time. You would then need to somehow start the engine. I don't think that would be so hard since it looks in the movies like you only need to flip some switches and push some buttons.

Seeing as this is currently a warzone (and to make sure that the group sticks together for the rest of the story) I would not recommend that you'd try to steal another ship until the area has been cleared and made safe (by which time I assume the rest of the group has left).
Additionally, unless you are truly selfish or stupid, I doubt you would intentionally steal a ship that might be used for others to get away. Even less likely if they appear in the hangar while you are trying to get in.

I'm not saying that you can't try because I'm a mean bastard of a GM, but it does annoy me to great extent when a player actively tries to seperate himself from the group. So I advice against it.

And to think I only did it to be sure if the blastdoor was 100 ft. away or not

I highly recommend the program, as it has many useful and easy-to-use features. Two that I will be using frequently, I guess, are the fog of war and the dinstance measuring thingy.

You can find this at rptools.net as well as other tools they have. I also recommend you watch the tutorials.

Subject: MAP!!!

After downloading a very good mapping tool (don't worry, it's free!), learning how to use it and then doing some fun doodling, I can now present to you a partial map of the hangar. I did do a map of the whole hangar, but it was too big to fit completely on the screen so I couldn't take a screen shot of the whole thing. Or, at leas, I couldn't if I wanted you to be able to reasonably see what's on the map.

Anyway, here's the link:
Hangar

You are on the left side of the map and it only shows what you see. The bad guys are on the right side. The blastdoor that needs opening is at the bottom of the map. Awvoors ship is at the top. I'm afraid I couldn't find a picture I liked for the ship, which is why I had to use a token instead. Arruna's speeder is represented by that red thingy. Again, I couldn't find a decent picture of a Y-shaped speeder so this will have to do for now.
Boxes and barrels provide partial cover, ships provide total cover.

Apparently, the blastdoor is only 70 ft. away and not 100. Who would have thunk it? I'll update the map at appropriate times

Yes, the shield's back up. If it changes, I'll include it in the Initiative order. If you prefer, I can include Kate's SR at all times, even when fully charged.

Subject: Speeder

Your speeder is outside the normal move action range, but you can take a full round action to get to it. I may have to look it up to be sure, though. But your speeder is about 50 ft. away on your left.

The hangar is 120 ft. accross, 150 ft. outwards. So the enemy is about 120 ft. away. There are also three colossar starships (Awvoor's included) in the hangar, if you need cover or something.

There are also boxes of various sizes, barrels and all sorts of stuff around which you can also use for cover.

You are all unprepaired, so you'll need a move action to draw your weapons. (Darth Malis' move action was included in the updated so he starts his round without one. I'm not cheating or anything.)

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the hangar door that needs opening is approximately 100 ft. (in a straight line accross the hangar) from where you're standing. If anyone knows of a free mapping tool, I might be able to give you a map if you want one.

Subject: Jedi/Sith dueling

Alrighty, I have updated.

You got yourself through the blast door and into the hangar. Alas, you're met with a small group of Mandalorians and a Sith. I'm giving you all XP for activity, some of you get bonus XP for good roleplaying and I'm also giving you XP for getting through the blast door (it was not as easy as it may have looked to open it, Kate just rolled well).
I'm also assuming Awvoor did some first aid on people in need (such as Wrrlwarr) and I will include that in the following Initiative order. For easier reference, I marked them with a *, so if there is anyone not getting first aid I can correct this.

And here is the Initiative order:
[32] Benjamin (current hp: 70)
[28] Kate (current hp: 64)
[28] Arruna'dira (current hp: 76; Speeder hp: 27)
[26] Mandalorian #1 (hp lost: 81; down two steps)
[24] Darth Malis (hp lost: 105; utterly dead)
[24] Battle Droid #1 (hp lost: 38; out of the fight)
[20] Awvoor (current hp: 57)
[13] Mandalorian #2 (hp lost: 69; down one step; out of the fight)
[12] Battle Droid #2 (hp lost: 44; down one step; destroyed)
[10] Wrrlwarr (current hp: 70)

Getting the computer to disable the lock on the blast door next to you takes some time, but in less than 15 minutes the door opens up and reveals the hallway that is on the other side.

You finally reach the other hangar door and it appears to be unlocked. The door opens up and leads you into the side of a huge hangar. There are three fullsized starships in there, and Arruna spots her speeder from where you're standing. There are at least hundred feet accross and walkways circle the walls several feet above you. Awvoor can spot his ship, undoubtably glad that he arrived last in so that he would not have any problem getting first out.

The blast door that you need to open is some good distance away, but from where you're standing the panel appears to be intact and operational. But just as you notice the panel, the door on the other side of the hangar opens up.

A Togorian towers over two battle droids and two Mandalorians as the five of them walk into the hangar. The Togorian, dressed in black matching his grey fur, looks accross the hangar and notices you. His sharp teeth are revealed in a horrifying smile. "Jedi," he growls and a red glow extends from his lightsaber.

I'm afraid that Milix would have the master-keycard if the two of you ever had one. They can't have a bodyguard roaming around while he is supposed to be with whomever it is he is supposed to protect

Short answer being 'no'.

I'll update tomorrow. If you want to roleplay some more, by all means do

On a completely different note, I've been working on some dueling house-rules. It's not perfect, and I don't think we'll be using them for this game until I have play-tested it, but I will write down the rules as an article to put up here at the Inn. I have finished the first draft if someone is interested in reading it over.

I did expect this might be seen as meta-gaming so I allowed myself to roll Arruna's Perception against Milix' Stealth and Arruna did see the Khil give Benjamin something. With Arruna's familiarity with datacards, I'm not so surprised that she'd assume that was what the Khil handed Benjamin.

Since it is not that big a deal, there's no need to be editing anything. I'm telling you about the roll so that you can all feel a little bit better about the situation

Apparently, being a secret spy an everything hasn't taught Milix much about being stealthy

I want to remind you that you can post more than once when it is appropriate. You do not have to wait for every single update before you post again.

And also, I do not recommend you wait for everyone else to post. If everyone would do that we wouldn't get this game moving at all.

Alrighty, in order to speed things up a bit, Kate does notice a port that she can connect to. It is a port meant for service droids to use for repairs and access. You probably wouldn't have noticed it without looking for it. You can edit your posts to include this if you like, but it'll still be there.

(You can stop after improving your access and wait before doing any real work in the computer. Your access won't worsen the longer your wait and your access will be just as good if you access the main computer again.)

I would not say that Kate is able to program datacards unless she is also somehow able to read them as well (that is to say, without using an actual computer).

However, if you can find a port to connect you to the ship's main computer, you might be able to convince it to open either or both doors. It would require you to connect to the computer (1 action), improve your access (at least 2 actions), and then make it disengage the security lock (1 action; basically a disable program action). Every door you want unlocked would count as a seperate action though.
You can take 10 on all actions.

I would not say it would be impossible, and I imagine it would not be as difficult as to hack your way through laser-blasted panel, but it would not be easy.

Subject: An Update

An update. Whee.

There are two doors, to make things clear. One is a security door that can only be opened from a remote location. The bridge perhaps. The other is simpler. It has a panel where the correct security card must be inserted to open, but you don't have such a card.

I assumed Benjamin would follow the rest of the group. Even if he did not, he can still sense the two Sith that you already know about.

EDIT: I also gave out activity XP to those who posted. You might find that I am a bit unfair to some of you for not waiting a little longer for your posts, but I will update early if I can.

EDIT2: You may not have noticed but I don't count your blaster shots. Effectively, you have endless energy to hurl at your enemies. 'So what is the point of energy cells?' you might ask. If you fumble with a natural 1 on your roll, it may be interpreted as your cell dying or being damaged. At that time, an additional cell will be handy.
If you prefer, I could keep a close count of your ammo but that would count for all of you. I'm not going to count one PC's ammo and give the rest of you endless charge. What do you think I should do? Give you endless ammo or keep a close count of every shot fired?

Subject: Update

The Khil turned his head and looked Benjamin in the eye. "Your help is needed more with them than here," the embassador said. "You should go with them. I am too tired to go with you, and I would only get in the way." The Khil slipped something into the Jedi's robes. "This datacard must get into the hands of master Rial Moti. If I can not get it to him, you must. Now go!"

The squad leader turns your way as you make your way through the hallway. "We'll hold them off for as long as we're able. Just hurry!"

CUTSCENE

Lightblasts cross a hallway as the Mandalorians and the Republic soldiers have a standoff. Only a short moment passes and the Republics are all fallen. A group of Mandalorians and droids then make their way through, lead by Darth Malis.

A lone Mandalorian makes his way from behind them and comes up to Darth Malis.
"Lord Malis," he says with a hint of fear in his voice, "we've got news from the starboard side, sir."
"What news?" Malis asks.
"We lost contact with T4-squad, sir. They're not answering on their commlink."
Malis grins slightly before answering. "It is the work of the Jedi," he says.
"But... sir... how can you be certain?" the Mandalorian foolishly asks.
"Do not question me!" Malis growls, "I sense his presence in the Force. Now let's move! I want that Jedi."

You make your way into yet another hallway, but this one has a blaster door cutting you off. There appears to be no panel that allows you to open it, as it is a security door that was activated when the Mandalorians boarded. Another way leads to your left, but that door is sealed and requires a pass to open.

Both Awvoor and Benjamin sense a disturbance in the Force. Two dark entities are on board this ship. They are both unknown to them, but both are strong.

((OOC EDIT: found out that Awvoor also has Force Sensitivity and Use the Force.))

Subject: Sent PMs

I think I mentioned this a little while ago, but since the recieved PMs have this nifty feature of multi-deleting I have been wondering why, oh why, does the sent PM folder not have the same feature?

One thing I don't usually do after sending a PM is going to the sent folder and deleting them. Because of that, I now have about 35 pages of sent PMs that are of no use to me. Each page has about 15 PMs. I don't even want to know how often I would have to click Delete to clear that all up, instead of deleting 15 PMs at a time selecting them and throwing them all in the trash at the same time.

So, Olan, when can we get a multi-deleting feature for our sent PMs folder? Pretty please?

Topic: More Mutants & Masterminds?
Subject: More Mutants & Masterminds?

After seeing Watchmen I'd like to attempt to start yet another game of Mutants & Masterminds. For those not in the know, M&M is a superhero game that uses modified d20 system.

I'm planning on having this a bit more superheroy than Watchmen, so all Powers are allowed. It will, however, be a bit dark. Killing and maiming are an option, but as heroes it is not encouraged.
I'm thinking this as a Power Level 8 game, but PL 10 is not out of the question.

Here's some setting information:
Welcome to the City. The City can be any city imaginable. It has its own features, its size isn't measured and its name has no meaning for this game. Everyone calls it 'the City'.

The last century saw the dawn of the Heroes. They fought in both World Wars, on both sides, and kept law and order for decades. At the end of the World War II, a league of heroes was formed in the City. The league was called 'Righteous Guard' and it upheld the law for many years. In the end, one by one, they retired and were replaced by younger generation of the heroes. They too suffered the fate of aging, and new heroes replaced them as well.

But with heroes came villains, and the law became more and more faint. Two years ago, the Frances Act was set in motion, completely banning the heroes' activities of vigilance. The Righteous Guard was no more.

In these two years, the crime rate increased substancially in the City. To uphold the Frances Act a special team of law enforces were established, but they did not then nor do they now care much for the crimes of the minor sorts. Any hero, active or not, is arrested by these so called PALADINs and sent to Alcatraz II, a high-powered facility that is able to hold even the strongest of heroes or villains.

Where are these heroes now? The short answer is 'in hiding'. They take work where they can, trying not to be arrested just for existing by PALADIN.

The idea is that you play the former Righteous Guard. You've been retired for the past 2 years, working in society much like any other superhero/-villain. Any heroics would most likely call on the attention of the PALADIN squad so you have pretty much given it up. But one day, something happens that needs the involvement of the heroes. Will you take up your mask and your cape again?

What I need are up to 5 dedicated players. I was thinking about updating twice every week so posting for each update would be great. Like I said earlier, I'm aiming for PL 8 or 10, so you'd be average superheroes. You can be any sort of superheroes, from caped-crusader to psionic to magician to power-armor to paragon of justice. You could even be alien, either extra-terrestrial or extra-dimensional. I don't really care. I will, however, allow myself to ban certain powers or certain applications of certain powers (no 100+ superpowered duplicates, for example).

I don't think I'm forgetting anything. If you want to ask anything, either regarding the setting or the mechanics, just go ahead and ask. If you have any problem getting your hands on the core book, just PM me and I'll help you out.
Anyone more than a little interested?
