Not that I'm trying to argue whether your droid should have a holographic face or not, but I won't give it to you for free. A holographic face should cost something and rightfully it should give you some bonus. And don't say that you don't want the bonus because a droid with a holographic face is going to get a bonus for it. I'd say maybe 200-500 Credits and maybe +1 or +2 bonus to such skills as Deception and Persuasion.

"In the newer games" means exactly what? I haven't played any Star Wars games so my knowledge of features in such games is rather limited. The newest game I can think of is Force Unleashed which, incidentally, takes place many years after Old Republic. Technology has advanced since then so it does not surprise me that a droid with a holographic exterior is available. During the Old Republic, that is much less likely, and your character is possibly the first and only droid to have a feature that even resembles it. In fact, you should probably be paying a lot more than what I suggested.

Anyway, holographic face is OK, but don't think that I'm going to give it to you for free. You can have +1 bonus to those Skills above for a 200 credits version, +2 for 500, +3 for 1,000. At the bare minimum, you'll have to pay 200 credits for a holographic feature like that.

Subject: double hmm...

Admiral: Don't pick between the two based on what somebody else decides to play. If you want to play a Jedi/Knight, you can play one even if there is another one in the group. If you want to play a Officer/Noble, you don't need a Jedi to tell you that.
Like I said in the recruiting thread, there will be a Jedi in the group to get you started, even if said Jedi is NPC.

Reralae: I like your idea, up to a certain point. Holographic face to project emotions? I can't think of a reason why a combat droid would have such a feature. A communication droid or a diplomatic droid, maybe, but not a combat droid. And have you seen the holographs in Star Wars? Blue and static for the most part, and that was in the movies that take place long, long, LONG after Old Republic storylines. That's what your face would look like: Blue and static. I would also call it an accassory and prize it, calling it something like "emotion simulator" or something like it. You can't give a droid holographic feature without pricing it.
And the reason for having six arms? First of all, you can't do more than two attacks per full round action, or at least there's no way I know of. That pretty much beats the reason for giving a combat droid six arms. Even if you have two handed weapons with each pair, you can still only use two out of three. Kinda pointless in having six, although I see nothing wrong with only four. Just consider it.
I'd also like you to consider who your owner is, even if that owner is yourself. But if you're a bodyguard droid, you might want to consider being owned by either Admiral's Officer/Noble (with his permission of course) or some NPC character. If you want to stick to the mercenary calling, that's fine by me as well. Just want you to consider the possibilities.

Ayrn: I'll be waiting for my bribe then
If Admiral wants to play an Officer/Noble you are welcome to join in with a Jedi. I admit I have a soft spot for being asked nicely. I will still need a posting example from you, and I'd prefer if you tried to sneak into the game through the recruiting thread from now on

Subject: Well

During the period that is described in Knights of the Old Republic, Jedi were recruited more liberally than during the period we see in the Star Wars movies. Even late teens could be recruited into their ranks. Or that's the idea I get from reading the KotOR source book.

I'm basically saying that it won't be that out of place if you decide to play a character that has levels in both Noble and Jedi.

I figured we would start where you'll be arriving to the first part of the mission (it will all be explained in the intro post). You will probably be coming from Coruscant (sp?) but you can be from any part of the space (from which you somehow came to work for the Republic).

If you don't want to be a "Republican" then we can work something out to get you into the game.

Topic: Star Wars: Dark Masques
Subject: Star Wars: Dark Masques

This is the Q&A thread for the new Star Wars game I'm starting. Recruiting is finished and we won't be accepting more players. This is also the "go-to" thread for most in-game info, such as NPC names, visited planets and charactersheets.

Character Background and Description
All characters have a look and a story. I'm not asking for anything long (preferably something as short as three or four paragraphs). In the backstory, try to fit in where your character's been, how he/she got here, and what his/her ultimate goals are. This doesn't have to be longer than three paragraphs.
For Jedi players: All Jedi have, or at least had, a master who tought them all things Force. All Jedi players need to mention their Jedi master by name and whether he is/was a Jedi Knight (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode II) or Jedi Master (Yoda in general).

New Feat - Apprentice
Prerequisites: Character level 6, Intelligence 13
Benefits: With this feat you can create your own apprentice. The apprentice is loyal to you and under your control.
The apprentice starts with as many levels as half your character levels (rounded down). His class levels may be from any class (although levels from the same class as the master are most common) and he gets all the class' benefits as a character at this level, including talents and feats. An apprentice never has Destiny or destiny points.
The apprentice advances in level for every two levels your character advances; an apprentice never earns XP. An apprentice starts with half as many credits as your character does or as many as is fitting for his level, whichever is lower.
If the apprentice should die, your character will suffer from the loss. A character loses as much XP as the apprentice's level x500. If this XP loss should result in the character losing a level, the character instead drops down to the bare minimum ammount of XP for his current level and at least half of every XP reward the character gets must be used to pay for the rest of the XP loss. An apprentice is replaced in the following adventure using the same rules as above.
Notes: This feat is based on the Personal Lieutenant feat from Spycraft 2.0 and is not fully tested. Characters who take this feat should be warned that I may make changes if appropriate (but only minor ones, mind you).

Welcome to the Inn. We all hope you enjoy your stay

As for the Chat game, the biggest problem is deciding on the time you want to be playing. The problem here is that many of the Innmates are from all over the world, so timing a chat based game is harder than it sounds here.

But good luck, and I'm sure you can find some guys or gals who are willing and able to give it a go
If you can't find them at the RDI, you're not looking hard enough.

((OOC: Sorry for the late update))

In an instant, Sapa could see, hear and smell withing the bank's walls. For a split second it was blurry, but it quickly became as accute as if she was standing in there herself.

There were ten hostages sitting by the wall furthest away from the door. Gibson Hall walked in the center of the bank, back and forth. His skin was a shiny metallic sheen, scratched in few places where bullets had hit him. Dozens or more coins floated around him and moved as if in orbid. Where he went the coins followed.

The phone inside the bank started ringing. With a gesture of his hand, some coins dashed towards the phone and shattered it. Some of the hostages started screaming, some tried to look resolved and yet others looked like they were panicking.

Cornilius' Tent
After only a short wait, Felix returned with the wine as requested. After seeing Cornilius' agreeing face, the servant poured wine into cups and stood back.

"I must admit," Cornilius said to both Amhoset and Deodatus, "I find the two of you intresting. A woman who is willing to stand against three legionaires and a man willing to come to her aid. Two things that I believed to be rare in Rome." He drank from his cup. "I must also warn you that this kind of behaviour is a sure way to make enemies."

Cornilius finished his cup and looked at Amhoset. "Tell me, my lady, what business does such a beauty as yourself have in such a filthy place?"

the Tavern
As Wulfagar opened his eyes he was met with the visage of another of his kin. His blood quickened as he felt the strength of the Kindred before him, but it settled. The man seemed handsome, but somehow aged. He had the body of a middleaged man yet Wulfagar could feel how he was so much older than that.

The Kindred walked up to Wulfagar and sat by his table. "I have been searching for you, child." The voice was as soft as silk but his words carried authority and experience. "I hear you are skilled. I wish to employ you."

((OOC: Drakar, if someone is going to change the name of your character it is going to be you who do it. If you don't care what he is called, then the way you create your character is all wrong I think.))

Topic: Freelancers - a game of Spycraft
Subject: Session 2

We had our second session of the game last night. It started out pretty much the same way the last session was, but the latter half became complicated, frustrating and tiring on some of us.

Apparently, I also got the name of one of the PCs wrong. Her name was Tamila and not Camila. This session's writeup will have the correct name.

The team still hadn't gotten the second volume of La Secret from ol' mister Phiscer. After some serious thinking, the team came up with a plan: Teya used her contact to get a hold of cheap chloraphorm after hours. While waiting for Bill to pick up the chloraphorm, Tamila dressed up as her Jehova witness persona and had a look at Phiscer's back door. She found out there was at least one lock there. Now came the waiting, and when all lights were out (around 3am) Teya hacked her way into the powerstation and shut off the electricity for the whole street.

(I wanted to use the advanced hacking rules, but after several minutes of trying to explain it to our hacker I backed out of that plan and we use a more simple rule instead.)

With the electricity off, Tamila and Bill made their way into the house through the back door (at around 3:40am). Tamila was there to get in, get the book and get out while Bill was there for backup. It took few minutes to open three locks, but after few mistakes and some noisemaking, Tamila finally got in. She then snuck up to the next floor and followed Teya's description of where Phiscer had told her the book was (he used the words "private showroom"). She picked the door's lock and got into a small room where there was nothing but a single podium with a book ontop enclosed in a glass box. Tamila looked for any security traps, but found none. She used her glass cutter to cut through the glass and snatched the book. It was only then when she noticed that this was not the second volume of La Secret, but a book called Das Kugelscheiber mit Kese. Gosh darn it!

So she tried another door which lead her into Phiscers office. In the office was his computer, a safe and another door. That door was locked, and behind it was the security room with tv-screens, video recorders and a blast door with a retinal scan lock. Of course, with the power off, the lock didn't work and the door wouldn't open. Tamila called Teya, who was still hacked into the powerstation's computer system, and asked her what they should do. Teya had the brilliant idea of putting the power back on, knock Phiscer out with the chloraphorm, drag him into the room and hold him up against the scan.

While Bill did the dragging, Tamila let her curiousity get a hold on her and opened up the safe. Inside she miracilously found some personal files on Victor Temple, the owner of the last volume they had to get.
After getting in through the blast door, the team got into another showroom with another podium and another book enclosed in glass. This time, Tamila noticed the book was on a pressure plate that was linked to an electrical field. If they would remove the book, the electicity would be connected to the metal podium and the metal floor, shocking anyone near it considerably.
The team decided to get the German book from the other room, as well as the rubber mattreses from the car (as backup). Tamila was chosen to stand on all four mattresses and make the switch. She failed the switch and activated the electrical field. Thankfully, she wasn't harmed and made her safe way out of the room.

This was the better half.

While trying to analize the two volumes in the car, Bill noticed they were being followed. A woman leaned out from the passanger seat of the other car and started shooting. A chase began. I decided to use the more complicated rules for the Chase. Bill was driving, and was in fact the only one to enjoy this.

After some shooting and some great maneauvering on Bill's part, the chase ended in our team's favor with the other car lost behind them (I'm not going to bore you with details). Again, no one was killed or even injured, but they got some action this time.

The chase was the most boring part for two of the players. Their characters weren't made for this action, but I still wanted Bill to have something to do. In fact, Bill's player enjoyed doing something other than waiting and standing on the sideline. However, all players agreed the rules were too rigid and complicating. They made jokes about how this game was made by someone who thought D&D was too simple. I somehow doubt we will continue with this system after this mission is over.

The police cruiser came to a sudden halt only few feet away from the old lady, then it fell straight down and hit nothing but the empty street.

The crowd started running into nearly every direction. As you looked around the corner, you noticed several other police cars lined up in front of the bank and several more police officers hiding behind them. With arms at ready, they seemed too scared and confused to do anything but keep aiming at the bank.

The SWAT had already been there; their truck could be seen stuck on second floor of the building accross from the bank. The SWAT team itself was scattered over the street, knocked unconcious but in one piece.

Two big windows were on the bank, facing the police. One was shattered while the other had only minor fractures. Glances of people inside could be seen, but without more accurate eyesight you couldn't see which one was Gibson Hall.

A cruiser (in the sense it is a car) is flying through the air and about to hit a slow, old lady. This takes place about 10 yards away (approx. 30 feet I think). You can all react to this however you like. If you need any details, just ask.
