Moving quickly, Mars had his eyes peeled all the way to Maya's hideout. Luckily for them all, there were no stormtroopers on their way to stop them.

At last they got to the hideout, Ara pointed out the wound which Mars had suffered a little earlier. "You’re hurt," she said to him. "I'm fine," he replied, "it's only a fleshwound." He was lying, it hurt like hell, but this was not the time to worry about little things. Later, when time would permit him to, he would deal with his wounds.

Maya spoke of a good job, and reward for said job. Find the droid, get the cargo. Sounded simple, but like Mars had found out the hard way the job was rarely as simple as they sounded.

Both Ithiria and Ara accepted the job, and Mars was not going to turn it down either. "I'm in as well," he said, "but the reward better be worth it." It was a fractional lie. He didn't really care about the reward, although it usually served as a good bonus. But if he could help annoy the Empire, he would jump to the task.

Have to say "welcome" and "like your art." Also, if you have an art page (such as deviantART or the like) it would be fun to have a link so that we could check it out

The offer sounded appealing to Mars' ears. Leaving this place was a good idea, and the woman offered a good plan of doing exactly that. But then Ara had to bring up a "no killer" speech.

"Speak for yourself," Mars said in a low voice, but then spoke up. "I am a mercenary, and if the money is right my weapons and skills are yours."

He was ready to follow Maya as soon as they would leave.

I've updated again, to get the story going. Addy gets the standard activity XP and you all get XP for the 'encounter'. All in all, it went rather well

Also, I'm taking 1,000 credits from Awvoor's account. Doesn't look like it's such a loss anyway

The officer looked at Awvoor. Although he didn't like it, the Ithorian did make a good point.

"Very well," he said annoyed, "1,000 credits will be enough." He took the credit chip and scanned it. "Enjoy your stay here at Ord Mantell." Before long, the Republic troops had left the landing area.

"Thanks," the Rodian then said. "The Law here ain't really likin' me much. If they had IDed me, it would've spelled some trouble."

Only a short update this time, didn't look like anything longer was needed

Arruna scored a natural 1 on her Persuasion roll, and despite bonuses from Knowledge (Beaurocracy) and bribing funds, the attempt was a failure. But since there is no official fumble in the game (according to the book, but I will be adding it in when cinematically appropriate), they didn't decide to arrest you just yet so you can still get out of this mess without bloodshed. I'm just saying.

The officer looks at Arruna as she speaks her offer of 1,000 credits. He then grins slyly and rubs his chin. "Well," he then says, "that is a generous offer, but I am afraid that I would need a little bit more than that. Doing all that paper-work is not at all as easy as you think."

Sorry for posting so late. 10-12 hours each day last week didn't give me much time for posting. I will have the same problem next week and probably the week after that as well, just so you know. I will try to squeeze in a post or two after work, or else I will only have time during the weekends. Sorry.

"Damn it!" Mars yelled as the first blast hit his body. The burning pain stung like hell, but it was nothing Mars had not felt before. Things were getting out of hand; the woman had been shot, only one stormtrooper was down and the secretive guys had gotten into the fight as well. He tried to shake off the pain and fire again, but the slug bounced off the trooper's armor. This wasn't going very well.

Another blast missed Mars only by so much. It got close enough to singe his rough facial features. Mars heard the woman's voice again and felt a slight relief that the blast had not killed her.

Mars raised his slugthrower against the stormtrooper who seemed to be in charge, and who had fired the blast at him just a moment earlier. Could he hit this time? Some thoughts crossed his mind, and each second seemed like hours. He could see nearly every fracture in the trooper's armor. He could hear the trooper's heavy breath. Was he fighting them for money? For a single woman? For honor? No. Every time he came face to face with an agent of the Empire, only a thin line stood between peaceful solution and bloodshed. The woman had only pushed him over that line. Mars fought for his father. For his clan Tago. He fought for vengeance.

Mars tightened the grip on his slugthrower. For the split second when the weapon fired, he knew that it would hit.

[OOC: Firing a slug at the leading trooper (will move if I need to), spending a Force point for that extra oomph ]

"I better get the medical equipment to the proper location," Jon-Jon said, more to himself than anyone else, "but I'll start with dropping my stuff off at the barracs."

Jon-Jon followed the group over there. "I hate rats," he said as the conversation turned to that direction. "I think we're going to need some more lights."

"Look around you," the officer responded cynicly, "do you really think I am in any need of more junk? All I need is little something for my hard work of doing that paper-work."

My working schedule caught me by surprise so I won't be able to post except during weekends for few weeks. I might get a short post in after work, but 12 hours tend to leave me a little tired in the evening. My work schedule as I described it earlier will start some time during June, but until then I'll be pretty busy.

Subject: ahem...

You may have noticed that I did not update yesterday like I said I would. Thing is, because my work schedule isn't like I thought it was, I am supposed to work 12 hours every day, from Monday to Friday, for this week, the next week and possibly the week after that. So I only have the weekends to update games.

And this game is big. I am in fact dividing it into two games, so every time I update I'm updating two games at once. That, and adding maps, is too much work when I have also another seperated game to update.

Therefore, I have desided that this game will have to suffer a bit, and I'm going to put it on hold until my schedule slows down and gives me more room to do other things beside work. I am sorry for the inconvinience, and the game will hopefully continue some time in June. I hope I will see you all there when we continue

Listening to Benjamin's story, the Republic officer did not look swayed. "We have direct orders from General Markam," he said rather determined, "to search every ship and droid for anything hidden by the Mandalorians or the Krath. Therefor, we must dismantle the droid to make..." He didn't get to finish his sentance when Awvoor started talking.

Although he looked rather annoyed, there was a word in Awvoor's speech that obviously caught his attention. Credits.

When the Ithorian stopped talking the officer said nothing in response, and while Kate spoke her mind the officer calculated his options.

"Now, looke here," he said, "I don't want to disobey direct orders, and I certainly don't want to let some spies through our standard inspection. Although you make a persuasive arguements, I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. These sort of ispections are more expensive than most people realize, and I put a lot of work into the paperwork. If I perhaps had something more 'solid', I might be persuaded to skip directly to the paperwork. What do you say? Sounds like a deal?"

I want to remind you that I will be updating the game tomorrow, so if you want to get something done or avoid something specific (such as, oh say, getting dismantled) I think these are your last several hours to get it in before update.

Topic: What's in an Adventure
Subject: The Adventures of Bucky Reubon's Eye

A downbeaten play-write has decided to make his next disaster be about the legendary adventurer, Bucky Reubon. However, there are no accurate accounts of his exploits anywhere available, or at least not to the play-write's satisfaction. He has gathered everything he needs for a ritual that will reveal everything Bucky Reubon ever saw, but there is something missing. In order to fully perform the ritual, the play-write needs Bucky Reubon's eye. Either one will do.

That's where the adventurers come in. The play-write hires them to enter Bucky's tomb, pass through the horribly complicated traps, and steal his eye.

Complications:
What the play-write doesn't know is that the ritual has no audio without Bucky's ear.
The play-write is infamous for making horrible plays, and there are many who won't like him ruining the legend of Bucky Reubon. If the news spread that the adventurers are going after Bucky's eye, the adventurers will be facing the occasional harassment from commoners of the nearby area.
