Subject: Not my PC either but...
it was in my early days of GMing (I rarely play so I haven't gotten any of my PCs dead yet). I had a thing for putting the players against way too powerful opponents at the time. We had just started a new Werewolf the Apocalypse chronicle and before the very first hour had passed by one of the PCs was killed in a battle against three or four Black Spiral Dancers. I still hear the guys talk about it when describing me as a GM.

So, what is the best adventure/setting you've played/created?
My personal favorite was a tower. The group had just entered an empty town and just outside that town there was a big tower. Instead of the tower being built, it looked more like the tower had been carved out of stone. The group entered after passing by a blind homeless guy who said that inside the tower was what they sought. The tower looked like it was looped through countless dimensions and planes. After casting Detect Magic, one of the characters saw how every part of the tower was magical. On the way to the top they collected some books on the history of the tower and found out several things. At the top (after fighting off two vampires and beating a Minotaur in chess) they met the blind guy again who gave them what they most wanted. Two got powerful weapons, one got ring of air elemental control, one became a prophet and one got a powerful lovepotion to use on another member of the group.
And that's pretty much how it went.
