Noticed that. Looks good. Might turn into a problem with a game's recruiting thread and Q/A thread, specially if they both have the same long name first. In that case, we could always have the "recruiting" and "Q/A" bit first, then the name.

The battle was overwhelming and rather short. Vidar barely managed to kill one of them before being defeated by the others and tied up. They stripped him of his weapons and brought him to locked up room. If he could get loose from the ropes, he might be able to get out of there, but the Khord had never been good with knots.

Vidar was badly wounded from the fight, but the worst part was that his armor was damaged. He loved his armor. The relatively young Khord tried anything he could think of to loosen the ropes; he tried to break them by force, tried to use the edges of the cave walls to cut them, and he even tried to wriggle himself free. He needed to get loose and get out of here. He was not going to die as a prisoner.

Aw, well... Is Vidar still tied up or did they untie him when they left him in that cave?

Topic: yet another movie thread...
Subject: bummer me

I want to see Transformers. I never watched much of the animated series (I mean the original animated series, have not the interest for the newer series) since I couldn't watch that channel and they only showed the first season. I got few episodes on tape, which I used to watch over and over and over again back when I was around 5-8 years old or about. Then I lost the tape. I had action figures which are losed in a box today or something. I really want to see the movie, and so does my brother.

Unfortunatly, the movie doesn't run in theaters here in Iceland until 10th of august, at which time I'll be in London with my friends and after that I'll be living in another town. If my brother is as excited about the movie as I am, I doubt he'll want to wait until I get back from London. I don't think any of my friends want to join me in watching this film so I'm not sure if I'll go see it alone. But the worst thing is that it won't be shown until 10th of august. It's so far away

Yep, that's about it. So they are six against one, right? That's kinda unfair, they need more if they want to beat Vidar

Of course, by saying that I have inevitably doomed Vidar to face sixty fishmen next time around, or at least have to fight that tentacle thing. But 'tis fun

Vidar looked and saw a monster appear from a body of water in the middle of the cave. The monster seemed to have three eyes and great big tentacles reaching for the young Khord. Appearantly the monster could not reach him, but the fishmen who surrounded him looked vicious and ready to attack him.

If a great monster with tentacles could not bring Vidar back to his feet, nothing could. The Khord raised his body up from the ground and dropped his backpack. "You creatures seem to have no idea who you are dealing with," he said with a firm voice and grabbed a hold on his spear. "I am Vidar Thorudrin of the Thorudrin Clan! The Rising Sun of the Crystal Mind Dojos! The Juggernaut of the Iron Fist Barracks! I am bane to your existance and bringer of your demise! I am what you will tell to your children in both awe and fear!" Vidar readied his spear and aimed it firmly against his opponents.

((OOC: As for battle tactics, if I win initiative Vidar will attack the one closest fishman and charge him if possible. If I lose initiative Vidar will defend himself as well as possible with the spear and attack the first fishman that attacks him.))

Wasn't sure if you would kill me or let me live, but I'm happy to be alive

Just wondering though, was Vidar pushed out by someone who came in after him or was he pulled out by someone on the end of the tunnel?

Shinara had certainly favored Vidar this day. If not by her granted luck he surely had drowned. Just as he thought he would face an unworthy end, he was pushed out of the water and into an enormous cave by one of the fishmen. He stayed on the floor for few moments to catch his breath. He didn't have the strength in him to lift his head, let alone the rest of his body.

When the caughing and gasping for air stopped, the Khord spoke. "Does anyone speak a word or a dialect maybe of the Common tongue?" he asked with an exhausted voice. He was surrounded by the same kind of creatures that had already attacked him twice. Being stabbed while unable to defend himself was perhaps not as bad as drowning but neither was it a noble way to die. Vidar thought that maybe he had gone from the frying pan into the fire.

I could've taken that Potion of Bull's Strength before diving in, but I wasn't sure if +2 to the Swim check would've mattered that much

I'm just hoping that I won't die without a fight

Btw, I edited my post a bit. A little something to boost up my roleplay which I forgot while I was posting.

Subject: Vidar

As the fishman walked passed Vidar, the Khord could see great sadness in its eyes. It pointed down into the puddle where the other two had jumped in earlier. Vidar looked into the puddle and saw it was actually a tunnel that took a curve away from his line of sight. There was no telling how far it went or if it came up somewhere else at all. But judging from what Vidar had seen in the fishman's eyes earlier, there was no deception that this way would get him closer to the axe. Drowning was not exactly the glorious death Vidar had been hoping for, but if swimming would bring him closer to the axe of the clan Thorudrin he was willing to go that way.

Vidar looked at the fishman with a smile on his face. "I thank you, my friend," he said. "Without your help, as small as it might have been, I would probably have died without a clue where to look for my objective." He was just about to jump in when he realized something he had forgotten. The two fishmen who jumped in few moments ago might be bringing reinforcements. A fight down there would certainly not be an advantage for the Khord, assuming he wouldn't drown before getting anywhere. The other tunnels did stretch on, but Vidar didn't know where they lead. This was surely a dilemma.

Vidar backed away from the puddle. He needed to think, something he wasn't really good at when the enemy wasn't apparent. There were two ways he could go, one way almost certainly lead to the axe, the other could lead to nowhere and the guide couldn't speak a word in common, or any language that Vidar knew. He had to think about this.

Finally, the Khord made a decision. "I hope Shinara is looking over me this time," he said. He tied his shield over his back and his backpack over his shield. He fastened his axe to his belt and then jumped into the water feet first. He felt out of place like he always did in water. He would only swim as far as he thought would be safe before turning around and go back to the fishman and the drawings on the wall. In worst case scenario, he would have to find another way to the axe.

Subject: Vidar

That fishman seemed willing to spill out everything but as soon as he opened his mouth only complete gibberish came out. Vidar wasn't sure if this was a language that he simply did not understand or if this was a language at all. But the fishman pointed at the wall where there were writings and drawings. Vidar had no idea how to read those writings, but the drawings seemed to be of other fishmen, and a monstrous creature appeared more than once. Vidar was no scholar and so could not be sure if these drawings were of the same beast or if there were many such beasts. It was fish-like with tentacles and three eyes. It worried the Khord, but at the same time he was excited. He lived for glorious battles and a battle against that beast, one or many, would be glorious.

Nevertheless his attention shifted away from the tentacle-monster to a set of weapons portrait on the walls. There were six weapons, but only one caught his attention. An axe. It was not like a normal axe and the drawing made it unclear if it was a Khordaldrum axe, but the axe seemed extraordinary to Vidar. Could it be that he was already getting closer to what he had come here to find? If this was the axe of his ancestors Vidar would gladly battle all those beasts drawn on the cave-walls.

His eyes widened and a smile formed under his sticky beard. He hardly looked from the drawing of the axe, but pointed his own axe at the drawing and his words at the fishman. "Show me where I can find this weapon," he said, not as intimidating as he had spoken earlier. It wasn't likely that the fishman could understand what he said, but hopefully he could understand what he meant.

You have every single D&D book made, which includes every single copy. Nobody has a D&D book and so the D&D culture quickly dies. Within a year, Wizard of the Coast will officially quit making D&D material. Everyone who wants to play D&D has to talk to you about it since they don't have the book. Your e-mail accounts are quickly filled with mail from all over the world asking you to be in their game. Your life, as well as many others' life, is now ruined.

I won't be changing colors in my posts for The Chakran Portal. I don't want to bother writing in the codes all the time for every other line

I was mostly wondering because I was thinking about starting my own game soon. (You can see why I want to know how to change the colors if and when I start the game, but I won't reveal it in a thread dedicated to the Chakran Portal )

And since we're at it, does anyone know how I can change the text's colors if I can change them at all? I'm using Firefox if it's a matter of browsers. I know how to do bold, italic and underline in Firefox but I'm still looking for the colors thing.

Topic: The Chakran Portal - an Adventure in Audalis
Subject: Vidar

Vidar watched as two of the fishmen jumped into the puddle, but was careful not to take his eyes of the remaining two for too long. They just stood there for a moment until one of them eventually attacked Vidar with nothing more than teeth and claws against Vidar's axe, an axe that came down upon the assailant only to bounce off the scaley skin. Vidar could hardly believe it, he didn't expect to miss with his first attack, specially not against this kind of foe. But the creature attacked and sank its teeth into Vidar's armor. Vidar loved his armor. The Khord struck the fishman again, this time driving his axe into the creature's neck, and thus ending the fight.

The remaining one didn't move from the spot where it stood and appeared to be too scared to act at all. Vidar looked at the creature with a heavy brow. He wouldn't lift his axe against it unless it would attack him first, and it didn't look like it was going to attack him any time soon. Vidar stepped over the lifeless body and towards the fishman. "Your kinsmen seem to either have no dignity or have no sense to choose their fights wisely." His words were not friendly but intimidating. His pose seemed confident, like he knew that nothing they had up their sleeve could do him harm.

"I hope for your sake that you can speak," he said, continuing in an intimidating manner, "because I would hate to have to stain my axe any further with the blood of your kin. You are going to tell me what I want to know, and as of yet I only want to know two things: Why did you attack me and where did the other two run off to?" The Khord still held a firm grip around the shaft of his axe, as if he intended to strike at any moment.
