It spits out a novel.

I feed it 13 strands of Grugg's hair, the highest step of stairs which 13 men have walked under, and 13 shards of a broken mirror.

I did not say that Ghosts in general could. Hiram, however, has a Numen that allows him to steal away Essence from other beings. I admit I don't know the system and the exceptions (if there are any) by heart, but I can't remember seeing anything saying that Spirits were off limit.

And the assumptions are good and valid. I have nothing against them so all is good.

I agree with the whole not being a Christian thing just because you go to church every Sunday. But I don't agree that being a Christian, real or not, has anything to do with your lifestyle.

Christianity, much like Buddhism and Muslim and all that, is just religion. Pure and simple. It is not something that needs to be seen judging on one's lifestyle or behavior. It is just an aspect of your believe and state of mind. So going to a church every Sunday does not make you a Christian, but does not going to Church at all make you an atheist or a man without Christian belief? I don't think so.

Do I really have to remind you that I will be updating tomorrow? Do I even have to bother writing it here? Does anyone of you even check this thread once in a while? Can monkeys fly using the wings on their feet?

Unless only one or less Players actually post before morning, I will be updating as planned. Remember that if you don't post, there are over dozen thugs in this cart, which could lower your DV by at least 12 if all of them attack the same PC. That is enough so that they can actually hit you.

I also want to mention that none of them have anything resembling an actual weapon, except maybe for a combat knife or a fire-axe. Other than that, you can decide by yourselves what they are armed with and what they look like. The is no apparent leader.

Remember also that you only get 2 rounds to finish this up, get some cool stunts and collect the rewards. If you don't post at all for this encounter, you won't get any sort of XP reward even if your character takes part in it (through being NPCed).

Now go on and POST!!!

As far as I know, Spirits are nearly indestructible. My books are in another computer, so I'm not sure, but I think you are right. The only way to actually destroy a Spirit is to suck out its Essence. That, however, makes Hiram better suited for battling Spirits than say Mortals, since Mortals can only attack them physically but Hiram can attack their source of Essence (I think).

As for the priest, I am going to say that Ghosts have a sense for the dead/dying. I'm gonna say that if he is not dead, he is very close to dying and beyond saving without extreme measures (no more than 5A Hl left). He is, however, completely knocked out.
His fate is completely for you to decide.

There is nothing wrong with the spelling that I can see, so there is nothing to discuss there.

There are 40 things to discuss and I am not going to discuss all of them in one post. That would just be insane.

One of my favorites though, is number 27. That is just so true, and sometimes associated with roleplayers.

Other than that, there are many good points there. As for discussion, there really isn't much to add I think.

I've updated. I'm using another computer still, so I had some trouble finding some specific keys on the keyboard, which is why there is nothing Bold or Italic. I will edit it to make it look like the other Updates when I get the internet in my own computer at the latest.

Ghost
Longchester Hospital for the Insane

The Good Doctor hissed angrily as Hiram tore through his coat and leathery, burned skin. The intruder's body did not bleed, but black dust poured from his wound.

"I will be back," the Good Doctor said angrily, just before his whole body exploded into a cloud of dust that twirled out of the office and down the hallway.

Hiram knew that he couldn't have destroyed it, but exactly why it had just run away because of a scratch, although a big one, was beyond him.
In the corner, Einhart still hid quivering and frightened. "Izit gone?" he said with a tone that betrayed his manliness.

Vampire & Werewolf
Loftstreet, Old Longchester

The echoing sound of someone knocking the front door soon found its way back to Ren, who did the knocking. No one seemed to be going to answer it.
"Sir, I don't think anyone lives here," Twitch yelled from the car, but as soon as he did the door into the old house.

The man standing in the wrecked hallway was not someone Ren had expected. The man wore a coat and a gray sweater paired with purple pants under it, but everything he wore had been cut or ripped. Nothing was whole. The man's dirty face was only covered by the man's dirty beard. He smelled of alcohol and feces.
"John?" the man asked like he knew Ren. "John, is that really you? MY SON!" He dashed through the door to give Ren a big hug, but tripped and met only the sidewalk.

Inside, the house was dusty and full of trash. Big holes covered the walls, and old newspapers covered the floor. There were at least three more homeless men sitting in the hallway, either sleeping or dead.

I gave you Dominate 3, which cost you 15 XP (3x5). You can now use it as you please.

I will update tomorrow, as planned. It may come late though, or even early, or in worst case it might get pushed to Thursday. I will then probably update on Sunday, unless of course I won't get any posts before then.

Here is a question though for all of you to consider: Would you prefer if I would stop trying to update twice a week and slow it down to once a week?

Happy birthday Almerin.

I could write a long and boring speech about all your coming years may be happy and how you may live the rest of your life as happy or happier even than your life to this day.

I am, however, not really in the mood, nor am I really good with such words. So I'll let a "Happy Birthday" be enough

Sorry about that, Vorrioch. I double checked the book and you were right. If I had houseruled it, I would have let you know, but you can manifest without the cost of Essence.

And GT, yes you can get Dominate 3 if you like and are willing to pay the cost.

Subject: There is an update

My computer is still offline since I need several discs to install most of my hardware. I'm using my girlfriend's computer, so I managed to update.

The cargo cart has several crates, big and small. There is no window, but the is a side door big enough to get a car into the cart. There are also ropes and nets strong enough to hold any crate that is inside this cart.
There is no set number of thugs in the cart, because it doesn't really matter how many there are. I'm giving you an opportunity to stunt for few attacks, taking down as many as you like every turn. This encounter is mostly for me to see how well you can stunt and to earn you couple more XP. You can take out as many as you like, but regardless of how many they are, all of them will have been taken cared of after two rounds. Have fun now, and play nice

EDIT: You can't really see who is alive and who is dead in any of the carts you pass through. To see if anyone is alive, you have to make Intelligence+Medicine roll at difficulty 1. To search for survivors in the carts, a total of 10 successes are needed to find all the survivors with a minute passing between rolls, but you can all combine your successes to get the total.
If it so happens that any of you want to loot the carts, specifically the fallen Scions, I won't say that you can't or that you are not allowed to. I will, however, ask you to really think about it before you do.

As Arashi dashed through the cart and into the next one behind them, Cage quickly followed and the rest tagged along closely. The next cart was pretty much empty, the only people there lying in a pool of their own blood. They did not move, but none of the five Godsons could see whether they were alive or dead without closer examination.

Another passenger-cart was behind that one. It showed the same story. People lying on the floor, in their seats, covered in blood and wounds. None of them moved a single muscle. A single man caught the eyes of the group. Unlike the rest of them, he seemed to have been armed with a sword of some significance. His hand was still clutching it as strongly as he were still alive and breathing, but this man was neither. The moment she saw him, Trista looked away.
"It's Ardeth," she said, "son of Isis."
Ardeth seemed to have taken down at least two of his assailants, but something had cut through his leather armor.

"We came to Milan to get one of four keys," Trista said as the group made their way through yet another bloody cart, "but a group calling themselves the Darkness Flock somehow knew we were coming. We don't know what the keys are for, but the Flock seems to have real interest in them."

The fourth cart after the one where the Godsons fought with those thugs was no less bloodier than the other three. Two figures stood out. A woman was flat on the floor with her throat cut, and a man shot several times sitting in a blood covered seat. What made them stand out were the weapons they were equipped with. The woman was holding an axe with a handle the length of her arm, and in the man's lap there was a gun that seemed rusty and matte.
"Sara, daughter of Freyr," Trista said to clear the identity thing up, "and Martin, son of Hades. Their deaths will be avenged."

That was the last passenger-cart. Only carts with cargo were left. The Godsons made their move into the first cargo-hold, and they were greeted by over dozen of men dressed as motorcycle-gangmembers, with blood-shot eyes and skin as if they were about to explode. All were armed with improvised weapons or everyday tools. As soon as they had noticed their newly arrived company, they became furious with rage and raised their tools.

I am having some trouble with my computer. I'm assuming a virus has made its way into my comp and my antivirus program was turned completely off by it. I can't even press the buttons. I got some other programs to get rid of the spyware, but the new antivirus I got this morning can't help me at all.

Because of this, I am spending the day trying to make a backup of most of my files (which isn't going well since my computer crashes every time I to copy them), and then I will format my computer. If everything goes well and smoothly, everything should be fine this evening and I will be able to update this game tomorrow as planned. If, however, everything gets messed up, I probably won't update until late tomorrow if I update tomorrow at all.

Just letting you know before you start wondering where I am or start sending my hatemail for not updating

PS: I hope to see some posts when I get back

At the same time as I remind you that I will update this game tomorrow, I want to make a note of something:

Both Shounin's and weekend's characters have withdrawn their weapons (unless Cage ripped through his jacket while reaching for his flask). Technically, you would need to spend another point of Legend to summon the weapon again since you need to spend a point for every summon. But since I'm neither a tyrant of a ST, nor a prick, your point of Legend counts for the whole scene instead of just the action, so you can still summon your weapons freely this scene.
Make no mistake though, this only counts for Relics that have been summoned (followers and creatures must be paid for again if expelled before the end of the scene) and it still takes you an action to summon your weapons.

Wow, sorry for the late update guys. I was working on an essay for school and it took me a bit longer than I expected.

Vorrioch, I didn't know if Hiram had manifested or not. If he did manifest I did roll for him and the roll failed. If he did not manifest, the roll automatically failed. The only difference is that you would have spent a point of Essence if you manifested

Adding in XP, now.

Ghost
Longchester Hospital for the Insane

Einhart shuddered as Hiram left his body. For a second he was completely disoriented, but as soon as he managed to understand what was going on he hastened to the opposite corner of the office from the fallen priest. It was apparent that this man was all talk and no action.

Hiram attacked this intruder but the Good Doctor slipped from his attacks. The intruder shrieked in rage from this disrespect, a shriek that could be mistaken for an inhuman laughter. The Good Doctors attacks were themselves of little use, but he swung his scalpel like a madman. Einhart screamed in fright at this sight, and remained in his huddled position down in the corner away from the door.

Vampire & Werewolf
Old Longchester

As Ren and William left Salomon’s personal sanctuary, the last thing they saw was Salomon’s smile of satisfaction. As they entered Ren’s car, Twitch was ready to drive them away to their mission.

A street in Old Longchester was called Loftstreet. There were several stories why the street was called that, but in truth nobody really knew. What was known about this street was that throughout history, many great and terrible things took place there. Very few knew why, or even bothered thinking about a reason, why these things took place. Of course, most of the undead citizens knew that several of the events were related to vampire activity, most notably a massive shootout between a radical faction within the Carthian Movement and an equally radical faction within the Invictus. Of course, no bodies were found by the mortal police and both factions were eradicated by the Carthian Movement and the Invictus. It was only after the event that the Prince and the rest of the Carthians tightened their rule over Longchester.

Of course, none of that historical crap really mattered to either Ren or William at the moment. The target they were after lived in this very street, not far from the only clubbing street in Old Longchester. Knowing that, one could easily come to the conclusion that this neonate had some sort of connections.
The car stopped just outside the address Salomon had given the pair. Third floor, the note said in Salomon’s fine handwriting. The house looked old, over a century old, with wooden planks nailed over every window from top floor to bottom. Not a hint of light could be seen from the outside and the front door seemed utterly defenseless.

Observe:

The bare minimum damage Eztli would do is 12 (L or B). Now, assuming he would get successes on half his Accuracy dice-pool and the Extra had a DV of 1 (meaning every success would count), he would deal at least 18 dice of raw damage. Since you deal automatic damage against Extras equal to third of the raw damage, that equals to 8 Lethal damage after adding Epic Strength.

Of course, in these calculations, I am assuming that you had your full dice-pool in Accuracy, but in this case you were at -2 penalty (-1 for using Back of the Blade rules, and -1 for the lack of space for a reasonable swing). This also assumes that you got successes on at least half of your dice-pool and that the Extra in question had DV of 1 (which sucks even for an Extra).
Into that calculations then comes Soak and Armor. Your Piercing quality does not change much since they are only wearing Biker Gear as I already noted (BG gives +2B/0L, and half of 2 is 1). Piercing only effects Armor and not natural soak. In some cases (not this one) armor is added to natural soak, such as thick leathery or bulletproof skin.

On a more serious and less behaving-like-a-joking-arse note, your kids look lovely and adorable. Can only look forward to the day when I can post these kind of pictures myself. And that day will come

You are a very lucky person, Raven
Saara is specially cute and adorable.

Told you I would.

So I've updated and only 2 out of 5 players posted? That is less than half and I prefer more than half of the players post in time. I said I would post on Friday, which I did, and I expected you to post before Friday and not on Friday. I am kinda annoyed about this, but I am not going to make more of a deal out of this than I already have. If you don't expect to be able to post in the future, let me know before Friday so that I can plan something ahead of time.

I added a Join Battle rating to all the characters. I'm keeping it as a static rating made from (Wits + Awareness + Epic Wits bonus) so that in case more than one of you doesn't post I have a reasonable way of figuring who acts first. In this case, the highest rating acts first and the lowest last.

I'm giving all of you XP for this fight. May have noticed that I am not giving you XP per post as I often do for my online games. I just expect you to earn enough XP by killing things
